| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Aliflamra tilka ayatu alkitabi waquranin mubeenin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Alif-Laaam-Raa; tilka Aayaatul Kitaabi wa Qur-aa-nim Mubeen |
| English (Pickthall) | Alif. Lam. Ra. These are verses of the Scripture and a plain Reading. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | A. L. R. These are the Ayats of Revelation,- of a Qur'an that makes things clear. |

| English (Abridged Expl.) | This sūrah begins with the disconnected letters, the explanation for which has already preceeded in Sūrah Baqarah. These verses are very significant, which indicates that they are revealed from Allah. They are verses of a Qur’ān that clarifies monotheism and sacred laws. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | {अलिफ़, लाम, रा।} इन जैसे अक्षरों के संबंध में सूरतुल बक़रा के आरंभ में बात हो चुकी है। ये उच्चस्तरीय आयतें जो इस बात को दर्शाती हैं कि वे अल्लाह की ओर से अवतरित हैं, ये उस क़ुरआन की आयतें हैं, जो तौह़ीद (एकेश्वरवाद) और धर्म के विधानों को स्पष्ट करता है। |

| عَرَبِي | رُبَما يَوَدُّ الَّذينَ كَفَروا لَو كانوا مُسلِمينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Rubama yawaddu allatheena kafaroo law kanoo muslimeena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Rubamaa yawaddul lazeena kafaroo law kaanoo muslimeen |
| English (Pickthall) | It may be that those who disbelieve wish ardently that they were Muslims. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Again and again will those who disbelieve, wish that they had bowed (to Allah's will) in Islam. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Perhaps those who disbelieve will wish that they had been Muslims. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | On the Day of Judgement, when things become clear to them, the disbelievers will wish they were Muslim. The falsity of their ways in the world will be made clear to them. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | क़ियामत के दिन जब काफ़िरों के लिए मामला स्पष्ट हो जाएगा और वे दुनिया में जिस अविश्वास के रास्ते पर चल रहे थे, उसकी अमान्यता उनके सामने उजागर हो जाएगी, तो वे कामना करेंगे कि काश! वे मुसलमान होते। |
| Ayah 3 |
| عَرَبِي | ذَرهُم يَأكُلوا وَيَتَمَتَّعوا وَيُلهِهِمُ الأَمَلُ ۖ فَسَوفَ يَعلَمونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Tharhum yakuloo wayatamattaAAoo wayulhihimu alamalu fasawfa yaAAlamoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Zarhum yaakuloo wa tatamatta'oo wa yulhihimul amalu fasawfa ya'lamoon |
| English (Pickthall) | Let them eat and enjoy life, and let (false) hope beguile them. They will come to know! |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Leave them alone, to enjoy (the good things of this life) and to please themselves: let (false) hope amuse them: soon will knowledge (undeceive them). |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Let them eat and enjoy themselves and be diverted by [false] hope, for they are going to know. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O Messenger, leave these beliers to eat as the beasts eat, and to avail themselves of the finite pleasures of the world and let their hopes distract them from faith and righteous actions. They will come to know the loss they are in when they face Allah on the Day of Judgement. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | छोड़ो उन्हें खाएँ और मज़े उड़ाएँ और (लम्बी) आशा उन्हें भुलावे में डाले रखे। उन्हें जल्द ही मालूम हो जाएगा! |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | काश (हम भी) मुसलमान होते (ऐ रसूल) उन्हें उनकी हालत पर रहने दो कि खा पी लें और (दुनिया के चन्द रोज़) चैन कर लें और उनकी तमन्नाएँ उन्हें खेल तमाशे में लगाए रहीं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | (ऐ रसूल!) इन झुठलाने वालों को छोड़ दें कि वे पशुओं की तरह खाते रहें और दुनिया के नश्वर सुखों का आनंद लेते रहें तथा लंबी आशा उन्हें ईमान और अच्छे कार्य से गाफ़िल किए रखे। जब वे क़ियामत के दिन अल्लाह के सामने उपस्थित होंगे, तो उन्हें पता चल जाएगा कि वे कितने घाटे में हैं। |

| عَرَبِي | وَما أَهلَكنا مِن قَريَةٍ إِلّا وَلَها كِتابٌ مَعلومٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wama ahlakna min qaryatin illa walaha kitabun maAAloomun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa maaa ahlaknaa min qaryatin illaa wa lahaa kitaabum ma'loom |
| English (Pickthall) | And We destroyed no township but there was a known decree for it. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Never did We destroy a population that had not a term decreed and assigned beforehand. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And We did not destroy any city but that for it was a known decree. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | For each oppressive town that became destroyed, Allah already knew of its fixed time. The destruction will neither come before or after its time. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और अत्याचारी बस्तियों में से जिस बस्ती पर भी हमने विनाश उतारा, उसका अल्लाह के ज्ञान में एक निर्धारित समय था, जिससे वह न आगे बढ़ सकती और न पीछे हट सकती थी। |
| Ayah 5 |
| عَرَبِي | ما تَسبِقُ مِن أُمَّةٍ أَجَلَها وَما يَستَأخِرونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Ma tasbiqu min ommatin ajalaha wama yastakhiroona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Maa tasbiqu min ummatin ajalahaa wa maa yastaakhiroon |
| English (Pickthall) | No nation can outstrip its term nor can they lag behind. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Neither can a people anticipate its term, nor delay it. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | No nation will precede its term, nor will they remain thereafter. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | A nation will not be destroyed before its appointed time, and its destruction will not be delayed when its time arrives. The wrongdoers should not have hope in Allah delaying their fate. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | किसी समुदाय के लोग न अपने निश्चित समय से आगे बढ़ सकते है और न वे पीछे रह सकते है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | कोई उम्मत अपने वक्त से न आगे बढ़ सकती है न पीछे हट सकती है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | किसी भी समुदाय पर उसका विनाश उसके नियत समय से पहले नहीं आता। तथा जब उसका नियत समय आ जाए, तो उसका विनाश उससे पीछे नहीं रहता। इसलिए अत्याचारियों को, अल्लाह के उन्हें ढील देने से, धोखे में नहीं पड़ना चाहिए। |
| Ayah 6 |
| عَرَبِي | وَقالوا يا أَيُّهَا الَّذي نُزِّلَ عَلَيهِ الذِّكرُ إِنَّكَ لَمَجنونٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waqaloo ya ayyuha allathee nuzzila AAalayhi alththikru innaka lamajnoonun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa qaaloo yaaa aiyuhal lazee nuzzila 'alaihiz Zikru innaka lamajnoon |
| English (Pickthall) | And they say: O thou unto whom the Reminder is revealed, lo! thou art indeed a madman! |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | They say: "O thou to whom the Message is being revealed! truly thou art mad (or possessed)! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And they say, "O you upon whom the message has been sent down, indeed you are mad. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | The disbelievers from Makkah said to the Messenger (peace be upon him): O you to whom the remembrance was revealed (as the Messenger himself used to claim), your claims make you out to be one who is possessed, and you behave as possessed people do. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | वे कहते है, "ऐ व्यक्ति, जिसपर अनुस्मरण अवतरित हुआ, तुम निश्चय ही दीवाने हो! |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | (ऐ रसूल कुफ्फ़ारे मक्का तुमसे) कहते हैं कि ऐ शख़्श (जिसको ये भरम है) कि उस पर 'वही' व किताब नाज़िल हुईहै तो (अच्छा ख़ासा) सिड़ी है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | मक्का के काफ़िरों ने रसूल सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि व सल्लम से कहा : ऐ वह व्यक्ति जिसपर स्मरण (क़ुरआन) उतारा गया है (जैसा कि वह दावा करता है), निश्चित रूप से तू अपने इस दावे से पागल लगता है, जो पागलों की तरह व्यवहार करता है। |

| عَرَبِي | لَو ما تَأتينا بِالمَلائِكَةِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصّادِقينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Law ma tateena bialmalaikati in kunta mina alssadiqeena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Law maa taateenaa bil malaaa'ikati in kunta minas saadiqeen |
| English (Pickthall) | Why bringest thou not angels unto us, if thou art of the truthful? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | "Why bringest thou not angels to us if it be that thou hast the Truth?" |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Why do you not bring us the angels, if you should be among the truthful?" |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Why do you not call forth the angels to testify on your behalf, or why do you not ask for us to be destroyed because of our disbelief? |

| Ayah 8 |
| عَرَبِي | ما نُنَزِّلُ المَلائِكَةَ إِلّا بِالحَقِّ وَما كانوا إِذًا مُنظَرينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Ma nunazzilu almalaikata illa bialhaqqi wama kanoo ithan munthareena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Maa nunazzilul malaaa'i kata illaa bilhaqqi wa maa kaanooo izam munzareen |
| English (Pickthall) | We send not down the angels save with the Fact, and in that case (the disbelievers) would not be tolerated. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | We send not the angels down except for just cause: if they came (to the ungodly), behold! no respite would they have! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | We do not send down the angels except with truth; and the disbelievers would not then be reprieved. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | In response to their idea of having the angels brought forth, Allah said: I will not send the angels except when it becomes wise to do so, that is, when your time comes to be penalised. And if the angels were sent and they did not believe, then their punishment would become imminent. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | फ़रिश्तों को हम केवल सत्य के प्रयोजन हेतु उतारते है और उस समय लोगों को मुहलत नहीं मिलेगी |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अल्लाह तआला ने उनके फ़रिश्तों के आने के सुझाव के जवाब में कहा : हम फ़रिश्तों को उसी समय उतारते हैं, जब हमारी हिकमत के अनुसार उन्हें अज़ाब के द्वारा विनष्ट करने का समय आ जाए। और - अगर हम फ़रिश्तों को ले आएँ और वे ईमान न लाएँ, तो - उन्हें मोहलत नहीं दी जाएगी, बल्कि उन्हें तुरंत दंडित किया जाएगा। |
| Ayah 9 |
| عَرَبِي | إِنّا نَحنُ نَزَّلنَا الذِّكرَ وَإِنّا لَهُ لَحافِظونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Inna nahnu nazzalna alththikra wainna lahu lahafithoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Innaa Nahnu nazalnaz Zikra wa Innaa lahoo lahaa fizoon |
| English (Pickthall) | Lo! We, even We, reveal the Reminder, and lo! We verily are its Guardian. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | We have, without doubt, sent down the Message; and We will assuredly guard it (from corruption). |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur'an and indeed, We will be its guardian. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | I alone revealed this Qur’ān to the heart of Muhammad (peace be upon him) as a reminder for people. I will guard the Qur’ān from anything being added to it or subtracted from it, or anything in it being exchanged or altered. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | निःसंदेह हमने ही इस क़ुरआन को मुहम्मद सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि व सल्लम के दिल पर लोगों के अनुस्मरण (याद-दहानी) के लिए उतारा है, और निःसंदेह हम ही क़ुरआन को वृद्धि और कमी, परिवर्तन और विकृति से सुरक्षित रखने वाले हैं। |

| عَرَبِي | وَلَقَد أَرسَلنا مِن قَبلِكَ في شِيَعِ الأَوَّلينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Walaqad arsalna min qablika fee shiyaAAi alawwaleena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa laqad arsalnaa min qablika fee shiya'il awwaleen |
| English (Pickthall) | We verily sent (messengers) before thee among the factions of the men of old. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | We did send messengers before thee amongst the religious sects of old: |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And We had certainly sent [messengers] before you, [O Muhammad], among the sects of the former peoples. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O Messenger, I sent before you messengers to prior groups of disbelievers and they belied them. So you are not an exceptional messenger from the perspective of being made out as a liar by your people. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | तुमसे पहले कितने ही विगत गिरोंहों में हम रसूल भेज चुके है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | (ऐ रसूल) हमने तो तुमसे पहले भी अगली उम्मतों में (और भी बहुत से) रसूल भेजे |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | (ऐ रसूल!) हमने आपसे पहले पिछले काफ़िर समुदायों में (भी) रसूल भेजे थे, तो उन्होंने उन रसूलों को झुठला दिया था। इसलिए, आपके समुदाय के आपको झुठलाने के मामले में, आप अनूठे रसूल नहीं हैं। |
| Ayah 11 |
| عَرَبِي | وَما يَأتيهِم مِن رَسولٍ إِلّا كانوا بِهِ يَستَهزِئونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wama yateehim min rasoolin illa kanoo bihi yastahzioona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa maa yaateehim mir Rasoolin illaa kaanoo bihee yastahzi'oon |
| English (Pickthall) | And never came there unto them a messenger but they did mock him. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | But never came a messenger to them but they mocked him. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And no messenger would come to them except that they ridiculed him. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Previous groups of disbelievers did not receive a messenger except that they belied and ridiculed him. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | कोई भी रसूल उनके पास ऐसा नहीं आया, जिसका उन्होंने उपहास न किया हो |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और (उनकी भी यही हालत थी कि) उनके पास कोई रसूल न आया मगर उन लोगों ने उसकी हँसी ज़रुर उड़ाई |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | पिछले काफ़िर समुदायों के पास जो भी रसूल आता था, वे उसे झुठला देते और उसका मज़ाक उड़ाया करते थे। |
| Ayah 12 |
| عَرَبِي | كَذٰلِكَ نَسلُكُهُ في قُلوبِ المُجرِمينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Kathalika naslukuhu fee quloobi almujrimeena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | kazaalika naslukuhoo fee quloobil mujrimeen |
| English (Pickthall) | Thus do We make it traverse the hearts of the guilty: |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Even so do we let it creep into the hearts of the sinners - |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Thus do We insert denial into the hearts of the criminals. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | As I left the lies in the hearts of those nations, I will leave it as well in the hearts of the Makkahn idolaters, because of their opposition and stubbornness. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | इसी तरह हम अपराधियों के दिलों में इसे उतारते है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | हम (गोया खुद) इसी तरह इस (गुमराही) को (उन) गुनाहगारों के दिल में डाल देते हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | जिस तरह हमने उन (विगत) समुदायों के दिलों में झुठलाने की प्रवृत्ति डाल दी थी, उसी तरह हम उसे मक्का के मुश्रिकों के दिलों में डाल देंगे, उनकी विमुखता और हठ के कारण। |
| Ayah 13 |
| عَرَبِي | لا يُؤمِنونَ بِهِ ۖ وَقَد خَلَت سُنَّةُ الأَوَّلينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | La yuminoona bihi waqad khalat sunnatu alawwaleena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Laa yu'minoona bihee wa qad khalat sunnatul awwaleen |
| English (Pickthall) | They believe not therein, though the example of the men of old hath gone before. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | That they should not believe in the (Message); but the ways of the ancients have passed away. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | They will not believe in it, while there has already occurred the precedent of the former peoples. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | They do not believe in this Qur’ān that was revealed to Muhammad (peace be upon him). Allah’s custom in destroying those who bely their messengers has occurred before, so the beliers should take that into consideration. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | वे इसे मानेंगे नहीं। पहले के लोगों की मिसालें गुज़र चुकी हैं |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | ये कुफ्फ़ार इस (क़ुरान) पर ईमान न लाएँगें और (ये कुछ अनोखी बात नहीं) अगलों के तरीक़े भी (ऐसे ही) रहें है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | ये लोग मुहम्मद सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि व सल्लम पर अवतरित इस क़ुरआन पर ईमान नहीं लाएँगे। और अल्लाह की यह परंपरा रही है कि वह अपने रसूलों के लाए हुए संदेश को झुठलाने वालों को विनष्ट कर देता है। इसलिए आपको झुठलाने वाले लोगों को इससे सीख लेनी चाहिए। |
| Ayah 14 |
| عَرَبِي | وَلَو فَتَحنا عَلَيهِم بابًا مِنَ السَّماءِ فَظَلّوا فيهِ يَعرُجونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Walaw fatahna AAalayhim baban mina alssamai fathalloo feehi yaAArujoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa law fatahnaa 'alaihim baabam minas samaaa'i fazaloo feehi ya'rujoon |
| English (Pickthall) | And even if We opened unto them a gate of heaven and they kept mounting through it, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Even if We opened out to them a gate from heaven, and they were to continue (all day) ascending therein, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And [even] if We opened to them a gate from the heaven and they continued therein to ascend, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | These liars will remain stubborn even if the truth became obvious to them through clear proofs, even if I opened for them a door from the heavens and they continued to ascend through it. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | यदि हम उनपर आकाश से कोई द्वार खोल दें और वे दिन-दहाड़े उसमें चढ़ने भी लगें, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और अगर हम अपनी कुदरत से आसमान का एक दरवाज़ा भी खोल दें और ये लोग दिन दहाड़े उस दरवाज़े से (आसमान पर) चढ़ भी जाएँ |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | ये झुठलाने वाले लोग हठी हैं, भले ही स्पष्ट प्रमाणों के साथ सत्य उनके सामने उजागर हो जाए। चुनाँचे यदि हम उनके लिए आसमान का कोई द्वार खोल दें और वे उसमें चढ़ते चले जाएँ। |
| Ayah 15 |
| عَرَبِي | لَقالوا إِنَّما سُكِّرَت أَبصارُنا بَل نَحنُ قَومٌ مَسحورونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Laqaloo innama sukkirat absaruna bal nahnu qawmun mashooroona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Laqaaloo innamaa sukkirat absaarunaa bal nahnu qawmum mashooroon |
| English (Pickthall) | They would say: Our sight is wrong - nay, but we are folk bewitched. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | They would only say: "Our eyes have been intoxicated: Nay, we have been bewitched by sorcery." |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | They would say, "Our eyes have only been dazzled. Rather, we are a people affected by magic." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | They would not believe, and they said: Our eyes could no longer see, and what we saw was the effects of magic, so we are bewitched. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | फिर भी वे यही कहेंगे, "हमारी आँखें मदमाती हैं, बल्कि हम लोगों पर जादू कर दिया गया है!" |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तब भी यहीं कहेगें कि हो न हो हमारी ऑंखें (नज़र बन्दी से) मतवाली कर दी गई हैं या नहीं तो हम लोगों पर जादू किया गया है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तब भी वे सत्य को नहीं मानते और कहते : हमारी दृष्टि को देखने से अवरुद्ध कर दिया गया है, बल्कि हम जो कुछ देख रहे हैं, वह जादू का प्रभाव है। क्योंकि हम मंत्रमुग्ध हैं। |
| Ayah 16 |
| عَرَبِي | وَلَقَد جَعَلنا فِي السَّماءِ بُروجًا وَزَيَّنّاها لِلنّاظِرينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Walaqad jaAAalna fee alssamai buroojan wazayyannaha lilnnathireena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa laqad ja'alnaa fissamaaa'i buroojanw wa zaiyannaahaa linnaazireen |
| English (Pickthall) | And verily in the heaven we have set mansions of the stars, and We have beautified it for beholders. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | It is We Who have set out the zodiacal signs in the heavens, and made them fair-seeming to (all) beholders; |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And We have placed within the heaven great stars and have beautified it for the observers. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | We placed in the heavens great stars so as to guide people on their travels in the darkness of the desert and the sea. We also created them for those who ponder them, so that they would come to understand the ability of Allah, may He be glorified. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | हमने आकाश में बुर्ज (तारा-समूह) बनाए और हमने उसे देखनेवालों के लिए सुसज्जित भी किया |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और हम ही ने आसमान में बुर्ज बनाए और देखने वालों के वास्ते उनके (सितारों से) आरास्ता (सजाया) किया |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | निःसंदेह हमने आसमान में महान सितारे बनाए हैं, जिनके माध्यम से लोग जल एवं थल के अंधेरों में अपनी यात्राओं के दौरान रास्ता मालूम करते हैं। और उन्हें देखने वालों के लिए सुशोभित किया है। ताकि वे उनसे सर्वशक्तिमान अल्लाह की शक्ति का प्रमाण प्राप्त करें। |
| Ayah 17 |
| عَرَبِي | وَحَفِظناها مِن كُلِّ شَيطانٍ رَجيمٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wahafithnaha min kulli shaytanin rajeemin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa hafiznaahaa min kulli Shaitaanir rajeem |
| English (Pickthall) | And We have guarded it from every outcast devil, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And (moreover) We have guarded them from every cursed devil: |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And We have protected it from every devil expelled [from the mercy of Allah] |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | We protected the heavens from every satan that is rejected from Allah’s mercy. |

| Ayah 18 |
| عَرَبِي | إِلّا مَنِ استَرَقَ السَّمعَ فَأَتبَعَهُ شِهابٌ مُبينٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Illa mani istaraqa alssamAAa faatbaAAahu shihabun mubeenun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Illaa manis taraqas sam'a fa atba'ahoo shihaabum mubeen |
| English (Pickthall) | Save him who stealeth the hearing, and them doth a clear flame pursue. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | But any that gains a hearing by stealth, is pursued by a flaming fire, bright (to see). |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Except one who steals a hearing and is pursued by a clear burning flame. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Except for those who try to secretly listen to the high realm, they will be struck with a flaming meteor and they will be burned. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | यह और बात है कि किसी ने चोरी-छिपे कुछ सुनगुन ले लिया तो एक प्रत्यक्ष अग्निशिखा ने भी झपटकर उसका पीछा किया - |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | मगर जो शैतान चोरी छिपे (वहाँ की किसी बात पर) कान लगाए तो यहाब का दहकता हुआ योला उसके (खदेड़ने को) पीछे पड़ जाता है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | परंतु जो निकटवर्ती फ़रिश्तों (मलए-आला) की बात चुपके से सुन ले, तो एक चमकदार ज्वाला (उल्का) उसका पीछा करती है और उसे जला देती है। |

| عَرَبِي | وَالأَرضَ مَدَدناها وَأَلقَينا فيها رَواسِيَ وَأَنبَتنا فيها مِن كُلِّ شَيءٍ مَوزونٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waalarda madadnaha waalqayna feeha rawasiya waanbatna feeha min kulli shayin mawzoonin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wal arda madadnaahaa wa alqainaa feehaa rawaasiya wa ambatnaa feehaa min kulli shai'im mawzoon |
| English (Pickthall) | And the earth have We spread out, and placed therein firm hills, and caused each seemly thing to grow therein. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And the earth We have spread out (like a carpet); set thereon mountains firm and immovable; and produced therein all kinds of things in due balance. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और हमने धरती को फैलाया ताकि लोग उसके ऊपर रह सकें, और उसमें मज़बूत (अटल) पहाड़ बनाए ताकि वह (धरती) लोगों को लेकर डगमगाने न लगे, तथा उसमें विभिन्न प्रकार के पौधे उगाए जो हिकमत की अपेक्षानुसार निर्धारित व निर्दिष्ट हैं। |

| عَرَبِي | وَجَعَلنا لَكُم فيها مَعايِشَ وَمَن لَستُم لَهُ بِرازِقينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | WajaAAalna lakum feeha maAAayisha waman lastum lahu biraziqeena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa ja'alnaa lakum feehaa ma'aayisha wa mal lastum lahoo biraaziqeen |
| English (Pickthall) | And we have given unto you livelihoods therein, and unto those for whom ye provide not. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And We have provided therein means of subsistence,- for you and for those for whose sustenance ye are not responsible. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And We have made for you therein means of living and [for] those for whom you are not providers. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O people, I have placed for you on the earth foods and drinks that would sustain you so long as you are in the worldly life. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और (ऐ लोगो!) हमने धरती में तुम्हारे लिए ऐसी खाने और पीने की चीज़ें बनाईं, जिनसे तुम्हारा जीवन यापन हो सके जब तक तुम दुनिया के जीवन में रहो। और हमने तुम्हारे सिवा उन लोगों और जानवरों के लिए (भी) जीवन यापन के साधन बनाए, जिन्हें तुम रोज़ी नहीं देते। |

| عَرَبِي | وَإِن مِن شَيءٍ إِلّا عِندَنا خَزائِنُهُ وَما نُنَزِّلُهُ إِلّا بِقَدَرٍ مَعلومٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wain min shayin illa AAindana khazainuhu wama nunazziluhu illa biqadarin maAAloomin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa im min shai'in illaa 'indanaa khazaaa 'inuhoo wa maa nunazziluhooo illaa biqadarim ma'loom |
| English (Pickthall) | And there is not a thing but with Us are the stores thereof. And we send it not down save in appointed measure. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And there is not a thing but its (sources and) treasures (inexhaustible) are with Us; but We only send down thereof in due and ascertainable measures. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And there is not a thing but that with Us are its depositories, and We do not send it down except according to a known measure. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | For all that benefits people and animals I am able to produce it and benefit people with it. I do not provide such things except according to a specific quantity determined by My wisdom and will. |

| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और हमारे यहाँ तो हर चीज़ के बेशुमार खज़ाने (भरे) पड़े हैं और हम (उसमें से) एक जची तली मिक़दार भेजते रहते है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | इनसानों और जानवरों के लाभ की जितनी वस्तुएँ हैं, हम उन्हें पैदा करने और लोगों को उनसे लाभ पहुँचाने का सामर्थ्य रखते हैं। और हम उनमें से जिस चीज़ को पैदा करते हैं, उसे अपनी हिकमत और अपनी इच्छा के अनुसार एक निश्चित मात्रा ही में पैदा करते हैं। |

| عَرَبِي | وَأَرسَلنَا الرِّياحَ لَواقِحَ فَأَنزَلنا مِنَ السَّماءِ ماءً فَأَسقَيناكُموهُ وَما أَنتُم لَهُ بِخازِنينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waarsalna alrriyaha lawaqiha faanzalna mina alssamai maan faasqaynakumoohu wama antum lahu bikhazineena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa arsalnar riyaaha la waaqiha fa anzalnaa minas samaaa'i maaa'an fa asqai naakumoohu wa maaa antum lahoo bikhaazineen |
| English (Pickthall) | And We send the winds fertilising, and cause water to descend from the sky, and give it you to drink. It is not ye who are the holders of the store thereof. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And We send the fecundating winds, then cause the rain to descend from the sky, therewith providing you with water (in abundance), though ye are not the guardians of its stores. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And We have sent the fertilizing winds and sent down water from the sky and given you drink from it. And you are not its retainers. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | I sent the winds to fertilise the cloud, and I sent rain down from the fertilised clouds and I nourished you from rain water. O people, you are not containers of this water on earth in springs and wells, rather Allah is the One Who contains the water in them. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | हम ही वर्षा लानेवाली हवाओं को भेजते है। फिर आकाश से पानी बरसाते है और उससे तुम्हें सिंचित करते है। उसके ख़जानादार तुम नहीं हो |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और हम ही ने वह हवाएँ भेजी जो बादलों को पानी से (भरे हुए) है फिर हम ही ने आसमान से पानी बरसाया फिर हम ही ने तुम लोगों को वह पानी पिलाया और तुम लोगों ने तो कुछ उसको जमा करके नहीं रखा था |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और हमने हवाएँ भेजीं जो बादलों को पानी से गर्भित करती हैं। फिर उन गर्भित बादलों से बारिश बरसाई और तुम्हें बारिश के पानी से सैराब किया। और (ऐ लोगो!) तुम इस पानी को धरती के अंदर स्रोतों और कुओं के रूप में संग्रह करने वाले नहीं हो। परंतु यह केवल अल्लाह है जो इसे धरती में संग्रह करता है। |
| Ayah 23 |
| عَرَبِي | وَإِنّا لَنَحنُ نُحيي وَنُميتُ وَنَحنُ الوارِثونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wainna lanahnu nuhyee wanumeetu wanahnu alwarithoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa innnaa la nahnu nuhyee wa numeetu wa nahnul waarisoon |
| English (Pickthall) | Lo! and it is We, even We, Who quicken and give death, and We are the Inheritor. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And verily, it is We Who give life, and Who give death: it is We Who remain inheritors (after all else passes away). |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And indeed, it is We who give life and cause death, and We are the Inheritor. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | I revive the dead by creating them out of nothing and resurrecting them after death. And I cause the living to die when their time comes. I am the One Who will remain and inherit the earth and whatever is upon it. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | निःसंदेह हम ही मृतकों को, उन्हें अनस्तित्व से अस्तित्व में लाकर तथा मृत्यु के बाद उन्हें पुनर्जीवित कर, जीवन प्रदान करते हैं। और जब जीवित लोग अपनी नियत अवधि पूरी कर लेते हैं, तो हम उन्हें मौत देते हैं। तथा हम ही बाक़ी रहने वाले हैं, जो धरती एवं उसके ऊपर मौजूद सारी चीज़ों के उत्तराधिकारी बनेंगे। |

| عَرَبِي | وَلَقَد عَلِمنَا المُستَقدِمينَ مِنكُم وَلَقَد عَلِمنَا المُستَأخِرينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Walaqad AAalimna almustaqdimeena minkum walaqad AAalimna almustakhireena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa la qad 'alimnal mustaqdimeena minkum wa laqad 'alimnal mustaakhireen |
| English (Pickthall) | And verily We know the eager among you and verily We know the laggards. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | To Us are known those of you who hasten forward, and those who lag behind. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And We have already known the preceding [generations] among you, and We have already known the later [ones to come]. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | I know of who was born and died before you, and of those who will be born and die after. Nothing of that is hidden from Me. |

| عَرَبِي | وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ يَحشُرُهُم ۚ إِنَّهُ حَكيمٌ عَليمٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wainna rabbaka huwa yahshuruhum innahu hakeemun AAaleemun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa inna Rabbaka Huwa yahshuruhum; innahoo Hakeem 'Aleem |
| English (Pickthall) | Lo! thy Lord will gather them together. Lo! He is Wise, Aware. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Assuredly it is thy Lord Who will gather them together: for He is perfect in Wisdom and Knowledge. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And indeed, your Lord will gather them; indeed, He is Wise and Knowing. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O Messenger, your Lord will gather them all on the Day of Judgment in order to credit the good doer for his good deeds, and the evil doer for his sins. He is Wise in His arrangement and knowledgeable. Nothing is hidden from Him. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | (ऐ रसूल!) निश्चय आपका पालनहार क़ियामत के दिन उन सबको एकत्र करेगा। ताकि अच्छे कार्य करने वाले को उसके अच्छे कार्य का बदला दे और बुरे कार्य करने वाले को उसके बुरे कार्य का बदला दे। वह अपने प्रबंधन में हिकमत वाला, तथा सब कुछ जानने वाला है, उससे कोई बात छिपी नहीं रहती। |

| عَرَبِي | وَلَقَد خَلَقنَا الإِنسانَ مِن صَلصالٍ مِن حَمَإٍ مَسنونٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Walaqad khalaqna alinsana min salsalin min hamain masnoonin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa laqad khalaqnal insaana min salsaalim min hama im masnoon |
| English (Pickthall) | Verily We created man of potter's clay of black mud altered, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | We created man from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape; |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And We did certainly create man out of clay from an altered black mud. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | I created Adam from dried clay, if it is struck it sounds. This clay that he was created from is black and of an altered scent beacuse of the duration it has been left. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | हमने मनुष्य को सड़े हुए गारे की खनखनाती हुई मिट्टी से बनाया है, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और बेशक हम ही ने आदमी को ख़मीर (गुंधी) दी हुईसड़ी मिट्टी से जो (सूखकर) खन खन बोलने लगे पैदा किया |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | हमने आदम को सूखी मिट्टी से पैदा किया, जिसे ठोकर मारी जाए तो आवाज़ दे। और यह मिट्टी जिससे उन्हें बनाया गया, काले रंग की थी और ज़्यादा दिनों तक रहने के कारण बदबूदार हो गई थी। |

| عَرَبِي | وَالجانَّ خَلَقناهُ مِن قَبلُ مِن نارِ السَّمومِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waaljanna khalaqnahu min qablu min nari alssamoomi |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Waljaaanna khalaqnaahu min qablu min naaris samoom |
| English (Pickthall) | And the jinn did We create aforetime of essential fire. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And the Jinn race, We had created before, from the fire of a scorching wind. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And the jinn We created before from scorching fire. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | I created the father of the jinn from scolding fire before I created Adam (upon him be peace). |

| عَرَبِي | وَإِذ قالَ رَبُّكَ لِلمَلائِكَةِ إِنّي خالِقٌ بَشَرًا مِن صَلصالٍ مِن حَمَإٍ مَسنونٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waith qala rabbuka lilmalaikati innee khaliqun basharan min salsalin min hamain masnoonin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa iz qaala Rabbuka lilmalaaa' ikati innee khaaliqum basharam min salsaalim min hama im masnoon |
| English (Pickthall) | And (remember) when thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am creating a mortal out of potter's clay of black mud altered, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Behold! thy Lord said to the angels: "I am about to create man, from sounding clay from mud moulded into shape; |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "I will create a human being out of clay from an altered black mud. |

| عَرَبِي | فَإِذا سَوَّيتُهُ وَنَفَختُ فيهِ مِن روحي فَقَعوا لَهُ ساجِدينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faitha sawwaytuhu wanafakhtu feehi min roohee faqaAAoo lahu sajideena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fa izaa sawwaituhoo wa nafakhtu feehi mir roohee faqa'oo lahoo saajideen |
| English (Pickthall) | So, when I have made him and have breathed into him of My Spirit, do ye fall down, prostrating yourselves unto him. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | "When I have fashioned him (in due proportion) and breathed into him of My spirit, fall ye down in obeisance unto him." |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration." |

| عَرَبِي | فَسَجَدَ المَلائِكَةُ كُلُّهُم أَجمَعونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fasajada almalaikatu kulluhum ajmaAAoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fasajadal malaaa'ikatu kulluhum ajma'oon |
| English (Pickthall) | So the angels fell prostrate, all of them together |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together: |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | So the angels prostrated - all of them entirely, |

| عَرَبِي | إِلّا إِبليسَ أَبىٰ أَن يَكونَ مَعَ السّاجِدينَ |

| Transliteration (Unicode) | Illaaa ibleesa abaaa ai yakoona ma'as saajideen |
| English (Pickthall) | Save Iblis. He refused to be among the prostrate. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Not so Iblis: he refused to be among those who prostrated themselves. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Except Iblees, he refused to be with those who prostrated. |

| عَرَبِي | قالَ يا إِبليسُ ما لَكَ أَلّا تَكونَ مَعَ السّاجِدينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Qala ya ibleesu ma laka alla takoona maAAa alssajideena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Qaala yaaa Ibleesu maa laka allaa takoona ma'as saajideen |
| English (Pickthall) | He said: O Iblis! What aileth thee that thou art not among the prostrate? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | (Allah) said: "O Iblis! what is your reason for not being among those who prostrated themselves?" |

| عَرَبِي | قالَ لَم أَكُن لِأَسجُدَ لِبَشَرٍ خَلَقتَهُ مِن صَلصالٍ مِن حَمَإٍ مَسنونٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Qala lam akun liasjuda libasharin khalaqtahu min salsalin min hamain masnoonin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Qaala lam akul li asjuda libasharin khalaqtahoo min salsaalim min hama im masnoon |
| English (Pickthall) | He said: I am not one to prostrate myself unto a mortal whom Thou hast created out of potter's clay of black mud altered! |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | (Iblis) said: "I am not one to prostrate myself to man, whom Thou didst create from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape." |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | He said, "Never would I prostrate to a human whom You created out of clay from an altered black mud." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Iblis arrogantly said: It is not proper for me to prostrate to a being You created out of dried clay that used to be black, malleable clay. |

| عَرَبِي | قالَ فَاخرُج مِنها فَإِنَّكَ رَجيمٌ |

| Transliteration (Unicode) | Qaala fakhruj minhaa fa innaka rajeem |
| English (Pickthall) | He said: Then go thou forth from hence, for lo! thou art outcast. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | (Allah) said: "Then get thee out from here; for thou art rejected, accursed. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | [Allah] said, "Then get out of it, for indeed, you are expelled. |

| عَرَبِي | وَإِنَّ عَلَيكَ اللَّعنَةَ إِلىٰ يَومِ الدّينِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wainna AAalayka allaAAnata ila yawmi alddeeni |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa inna 'alikal la'nata ilaa Yawmid Deen |
| English (Pickthall) | And lo! the curse shall be upon thee till the Day of Judgment. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | "And the curse shall be on thee till the day of Judgment." |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And indeed, upon you is the curse until the Day of Recompense." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Upon you is My damnation and banished you are from My mercy until the Day of Judgment. |

| عَرَبِي | قالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرني إِلىٰ يَومِ يُبعَثونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Qala rabbi faanthirnee ila yawmi yubAAathoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Qaala Rabbi fa anzirneee ilaa Yawmi yub'asoon |
| English (Pickthall) | He said: My Lord! Reprieve me till the day when they are raised. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are raised." |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Iblis said: O Lord, allow me to live and do not cause me to die until the day that Adam and his offspring are resurrected. |

| عَرَبِي | قالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ المُنظَرينَ |

| Transliteration (Unicode) | Qaala fa innaka minal munzareen |
| English (Pickthall) | He said: Then lo! thou art of those reprieved |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | (Allah) said: "Respite is granted thee |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | [Allah] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprieved |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Allah (the Exalted) said: You are of those who I will grant a long life. |

| عَرَبِي | إِلىٰ يَومِ الوَقتِ المَعلومِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Ila yawmi alwaqti almaAAloomi |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Ilaa Yawmil waqtil ma'loom |
| English (Pickthall) | Till the Day of appointed time. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | "Till the Day of the Time appointed." |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Until the Day of the time well-known." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Until the time when all created things will die, upon the first blow of the Horn. |

| عَرَبِي | قالَ رَبِّ بِما أَغوَيتَني لَأُزَيِّنَنَّ لَهُم فِي الأَرضِ وَلَأُغوِيَنَّهُم أَجمَعينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Qala rabbi bima aghwaytanee laozayyinanna lahum fee alardi walaoghwiyannahum ajmaAAeena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Qaala Rabbi bimaaa aghwaitanee la uzayyinaana lahum fil ardi wa la ughwiyan nahum ajma'een |
| English (Pickthall) | He said: My Lord! Because Thou hast sent me astray, I verily shall adorn the path of error for them in the earth, and shall mislead them every one, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! because Thou hast put me in the wrong, I will make (wrong) fair-seeming to them on the earth, and I will put them all in the wrong,- |

| عَرَبِي | إِلّا عِبادَكَ مِنهُمُ المُخلَصينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Illa AAibadaka minhumu almukhlaseena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Illaa 'ibaadaka minhumul mukhlaseen |
| English (Pickthall) | Save such of them as are Thy perfectly devoted slaves. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | "Except Thy servants among them, sincere and purified (by Thy Grace)." |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Except, among them, Your chosen servants." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Except for those servants You select to be worshipful to You. |

| Transliteration (Unicode) | Qaala haaza Siraatun 'alaiya Mustaqeem |
| English (Pickthall) | He said: This is a right course incumbent upon Me: |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | (Allah) said: "This (way of My sincere servants) is indeed a way that leads straight to Me. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | [Allah] said, "This is a path [of return] to Me [that is] straight. |

| عَرَبِي | إِنَّ عِبادي لَيسَ لَكَ عَلَيهِم سُلطانٌ إِلّا مَنِ اتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ الغاوينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Inna AAibadee laysa laka AAalayhim sultanun illa mani ittabaAAaka mina alghaweena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Inna 'ibaadee laisa laka 'alaihim sultaanun illaa manittaba'aka minal ghaaween |
| English (Pickthall) | Lo! as for My slaves, thou hast no power over any of them save such of the froward as follow thee, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | "For over My servants no authority shalt thou have, except such as put themselves in the wrong and follow thee." |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | You have no power or sway over tempting My sincere servants, except for those who follow you who are led astray. |

| عَرَبِي | وَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمَوعِدُهُم أَجمَعينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wainna jahannama lamawAAiduhum ajmaAAeena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa inna jahannama lamaw'iduhum ajma'een |
| English (Pickthall) | And lo! for all such, hell will be the promised place. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And verily, Hell is the promised abode for them all! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And indeed, Hell is the promised place for them all. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Hellfire is the promised abode of Iblis and all those who follow him who have been led astray. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | निश्चय ही जहन्नम ही का ऐसे समस्त लोगों से वादा है |

| عَرَبِي | لَها سَبعَةُ أَبوابٍ لِكُلِّ بابٍ مِنهُم جُزءٌ مَقسومٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Laha sabAAatu abwabin likulli babin minhum juzon maqsoomun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Lahaa sab'atu abwaab; likulli baabim minhum juz'um maqsoom |
| English (Pickthall) | It hath seven gates, and each gate hath an appointed portion. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | To it are seven gates: for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | It has seven gates; for every gate is of them a portion designated." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Hellfire has seven doors through which they enter. For each of its doors, there is a known amount of the followers of Iblis who will enter through it. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | उसके सात द्वार है। प्रत्येक द्वार के लिए एक ख़ास हिस्सा होगा।" |

| عَرَبِي | إِنَّ المُتَّقينَ في جَنّاتٍ وَعُيونٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Inna almuttaqeena fee jannatin waAAuyoonin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Innal muttaqeena fee Jannaatinw wa 'uyoon |
| English (Pickthall) | Lo! those who ward off (evil) are among gardens and watersprings. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | The righteous (will be) amid gardens and fountains (of clear-flowing water). |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Indeed, the righteous will be within gardens and springs. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Those who were mindful of Allah, by obeying His command and staying away from disobedience will have gardens and springs. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | निस्संदेह डर रखनेवाले बाग़ों और स्रोतों में होंगे, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और परहेज़गार तो बेहश्त के बाग़ों और चश्मों मे यक़ीनन होंगे |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | निश्चय अपने पालनहार के आदेश का पालन करके और उसकी मना की हुई चीज़ों से बचकर, उससे डरने वाले लोग बाग़ों और स्रोतों में होंगे। |

| عَرَبِي | ادخُلوها بِسَلامٍ آمِنينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Odkhulooha bisalamin amineena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Udkhuloohaa bisalaamin aamineen |
| English (Pickthall) | (And it is said unto them): Enter them in peace, secure. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | (Their greeting will be): "Enter ye here in peace and security." |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | [Having been told], "Enter it in peace, safe [and secure]." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | When they enter, it will be said to them: Enter it with safety from any misfortune and security from any fears. |

| عَرَبِي | وَنَزَعنا ما في صُدورِهِم مِن غِلٍّ إِخوانًا عَلىٰ سُرُرٍ مُتَقابِلينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | WanazaAAna ma fee sudoorihim min ghillin ikhwanan AAala sururin mutaqabileena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa naza'naa ma fee sudoorihim min ghillin ikhwaanan 'alaa sururim mutaqaabileen |
| English (Pickthall) | And We remove whatever rancour may be in their breasts. As brethren, face to face, (they rest) on couches raised. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And We shall remove from their hearts any lurking sense of injury: (they will be) brothers (joyfully) facing each other on thrones (of dignity). |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And We will remove whatever is in their breasts of resentment, [so they will be] brothers, on thrones facing each other. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | I removed what was in their chests of enmity and envy. They are brethren beloved to one another, sitting upon thrones and looked upon one another. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और हम उनके दिलों को हर तरह के द्वेष और दुश्मनी से पवित्र कर देंगे। वे भाई-भाई बनकर, एक-दूसरे को देखते हुए तख़्तों पर बैठे होंगे। |
| Ayah 48 |
| عَرَبِي | لا يَمَسُّهُم فيها نَصَبٌ وَما هُم مِنها بِمُخرَجينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | La yamassuhum feeha nasabun wama hum minha bimukhrajeena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Laa yamas suhum feehaa nasabunw wa maa hum minhaa bimukhrajeen |
| English (Pickthall) | Toil cometh not unto them there, nor will they be expelled from thence. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | There no sense of fatigue shall touch them, nor shall they (ever) be asked to leave. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | No fatigue will touch them therein, nor from it will they [ever] be removed. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Fatigue does not affect them, and they will not be made to leave it. Rather, they will remain in it forever. |

| عَرَبِي | ۞ نَبِّئ عِبادي أَنّي أَنَا الغَفورُ الرَّحيمُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Nabbi AAibadee annee ana alghafooru alrraheemu |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Nabbi' 'ibaadeee annneee anal Ghafoorur Raheem |
| English (Pickthall) | Announce, (O Muhammad) unto My slaves that verily I am the Forgiving, the Merciful, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Tell My servants that I am indeed the Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful; |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | [O Muhammad], inform My servants that it is I who am the Forgiving, the Merciful. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O Messenger, inform My servants that I am the Forgiving towards whomever of them repents, and I am Merciful to them. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | (ऐ रसूल!) मेरे बंदों को बता दें कि मैं अपने तौबा करने वाले बंदों को क्षमा करने वाला, उनपर दयावान् हूँ। |
| Ayah 50 |
| عَرَبِي | وَأَنَّ عَذابي هُوَ العَذابُ الأَليمُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wa anna AAathabee huwa alAAathabu alaleemu |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa anna 'azaabee uwal 'azaabul aleem |
| English (Pickthall) | And that My doom is the dolorous doom. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And that My Penalty will be indeed the most grievous Penalty. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And that it is My punishment which is the painful punishment. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And inform them that My punishment is the severe punishment, so they should repent to Me so they can receive My forgiveness and be safe from My punishment. |

| عَرَبِي | وَنَبِّئهُم عَن ضَيفِ إِبراهيمَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wanabbihum AAan dayfi ibraheema |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa nabbi'hum 'an daifi Ibraaheem |
| English (Pickthall) | And tell them of Abraham's guests, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Tell them about the guests of Abraham. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And inform them about the guests of Abraham, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And inform them of the story of the guests of Ibrahim (peace be with him) that were angels who came to give him glad tidings of a child, and news of the destructions of the people of Lot. |

| عَرَبِي | إِذ دَخَلوا عَلَيهِ فَقالوا سَلامًا قالَ إِنّا مِنكُم وَجِلونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Ith dakhaloo AAalayhi faqaloo salaman qala inna minkum wajiloona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Iz dakhaloo 'alaihi faqaaloo salaaman qaala innaa minkum wajiloon |
| English (Pickthall) | (How) when they came in unto him, and said: Peace. He said: Lo! we are afraid of you. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | When they entered his presence and said, "Peace!" He said, "We feel afraid of you!" |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | When they entered upon him and said, "Peace." [Abraham] said, "Indeed, we are fearful of you." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | When they came to him and said, Peace. He answered them with a greeting that was better than theirs and presented them with a roasted calf for them to eat because he thought that they were human. When they did not eat of it he said: We are afraid of you. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | जब वे इबराहीम अलैहिस्सलाम के पास आए, तो उन्होंने उसे सलाम किया। उसने उन्हें उनके सलाम से बेहतर जवाब दिया और उनके सामने खाने के लिए एक भूना हुआ बछड़ा रखा। क्योंकि वह उन्हें इनसान समझ रहे थे, परंतु जब उन्होंने खाने को हाथ नहीं लगाया, तो बोले : हमें तुमसे डर महसूस हो रहा है। |

| عَرَبِي | قالوا لا تَوجَل إِنّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلامٍ عَليمٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Qaloo la tawjal inna nubashshiruka bighulamin AAaleemin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Qaaloo la tawjal innaa nubashshiruka bighulaamin 'aleem |
| English (Pickthall) | They said: Be not afraid! Lo! we bring thee good tidings of a boy possessing wisdom. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | They said: "Fear not! We give thee glad tidings of a son endowed with wisdom." |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | [The angels] said, "Fear not. Indeed, we give you good tidings of a learned boy." |

| عَرَبِي | قالَ أَبَشَّرتُموني عَلىٰ أَن مَسَّنِيَ الكِبَرُ فَبِمَ تُبَشِّرونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Qala abashshartumoonee AAala an massaniya alkibaru fabima tubashshirooni |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Qaala abashshartumoonee 'alaaa am massaniyal kibaru fabima tubashshiroon |
| English (Pickthall) | He said: Bring ye me good tidings (of a son) when old age hath overtaken me? Of what then can ye bring good tidings? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | He said: "Do ye give me glad tidings that old age has seized me? Of what, then, is your good news?" |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | He said, "Have you given me good tidings although old age has come upon me? Then of what [wonder] do you inform?" |

| عَرَبِي | قالوا بَشَّرناكَ بِالحَقِّ فَلا تَكُن مِنَ القانِطينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Qaloo bashsharnaka bialhaqqi fala takun mina alqaniteena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Qaaloo bashsharnaaka bilhaqqi falaa takum minal qaaniteen |
| English (Pickthall) | They said: We bring thee good tidings in truth. So be not thou of the despairing. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | They said: "We give thee glad tidings in truth: be not then in despair!" |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | They said, "We have given you good tidings in truth, so do not be of the despairing." |

| عَرَبِي | قالَ وَمَن يَقنَطُ مِن رَحمَةِ رَبِّهِ إِلَّا الضّالّونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Qala waman yaqnatu min rahmati rabbihi illa alddalloona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Qaala wa mai yaqnatu mir rahmati Rabbiheee illad daaaloon |
| English (Pickthall) | He said: And who despaireth of the mercy of his Lord save those who are astray? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | He said: "And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord, but such as go astray?" |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | He said, "And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord except for those astray?" |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Abraham said: Does anyone despair from the mercy of his Lord but those who have deviated from Allah’s straight path?! |

| English (Pickthall) | He said: And afterward what is your business, O ye messengers (of Allah)? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Abraham said: "What then is the business on which ye (have come), O ye messengers (of Allah)?" |

| عَرَبِي | قالوا إِنّا أُرسِلنا إِلىٰ قَومٍ مُجرِمينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Qaloo inna orsilna ila qawmin mujrimeena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Qaaloo innaaa ursilnaaa ilaa qawmim mujrimeen |
| English (Pickthall) | They said: We have been sent unto a guilty folk, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | They said: "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | The Messenger from the Angels said: Allah has sent us to destroy a people who are guilty of great corruption and evil, the people of Lot. |

| عَرَبِي | إِلّا آلَ لوطٍ إِنّا لَمُنَجّوهُم أَجمَعينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Illa ala lootin inna lamunajjoohum ajmaAAeena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Illaaa Aala Loot; innaa lamunajjoohum ajma'een |
| English (Pickthall) | (All) save the family of Lot. Them we shall deliver every one, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | "Excepting the adherents of Lut: them we are certainly (charged) to save (from harm),- All - |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Except the family of Lot; indeed, we will save them all |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Except the family of Lot and the believers that follow him for they will not be included in the destruction and We will save them all from it. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | सिवाय लूत के घरवालों के। उन सबको तो हम बचा लेंगे, |

| عَرَبِي | إِلَّا امرَأَتَهُ قَدَّرنا ۙ إِنَّها لَمِنَ الغابِرينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Illa imraatahu qaddarna innaha lamina alghabireena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Illam ra atahoo qaddarnaaa innahaa laminal ghaabireen |
| English (Pickthall) | Except his wife, of whom We had decreed that she should be of those who stay behind. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | "Except his wife, who, We have ascertained, will be among those who will lag behind." |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Except his wife." Allah decreed that she is of those who remain behind. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Except for his wife, for We have decreed her to be one of those who stay behind included in the destruction. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | सिवाय उसकी पत्नी के - हमने निश्चित कर दिया है, वह तो पीछे रह जानेवालों में रहेंगी।" |

| عَرَبِي | فَلَمّا جاءَ آلَ لوطٍ المُرسَلونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Falamma jaa ala lootin almursaloona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Falamma jaaa'a Aala Lootinil mursaloon |
| English (Pickthall) | And when the messengers came unto the family of Lot, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | At length when the messengers arrived among the adherents of Lut, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And when the messengers came to the family of Lot, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | When the Messengers from the Angels came to the family of Lot in the form of men. |

| English (Abridged Expl.) | Lot (peace be with him) said to them: I do not recognise you, nor do I know who you are. |

| عَرَبِي | قالوا بَل جِئناكَ بِما كانوا فيهِ يَمتَرونَ |

| Transliteration (Unicode) | Qaaloo bal ji'naaka bimaa kaanoo feehi yamtaroon |
| English (Pickthall) | They said: Nay, but we bring thee that concerning which they keep disputing, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | They said: "Yea, we have come to thee to accomplish that of which they doubt. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | They said, "But we have come to you with that about which they were disputing, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | The Messengers from the Angels said to Lot: Do not fear! We have brought to you - O Lot - the destructive punishment that your people have doubts about. |

| عَرَبِي | وَأَتَيناكَ بِالحَقِّ وَإِنّا لَصادِقونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waataynaka bialhaqqi wainna lasadiqoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa atainaaka bilhaqqi wa innaa lasaadiqoon |
| English (Pickthall) | And bring thee the Truth, and lo! we are truth-tellers. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | "We have brought to thee that which is inevitably due, and assuredly we tell the truth. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | We have brought to you the truth in which there is no joke, and we are truthful in the information we give you. |

| عَرَبِي | فَأَسرِ بِأَهلِكَ بِقِطعٍ مِنَ اللَّيلِ وَاتَّبِع أَدبارَهُم وَلا يَلتَفِت مِنكُم أَحَدٌ وَامضوا حَيثُ تُؤمَرونَ |

| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अतएव अब तुम अपने घरवालों को लेकर रात्रि के किसी हिस्से में निकल जाओ, और स्वयं उन सबके पीछे-पीछे चलो। और तुममें से कोई भी पीछे मुड़कर न देखे। बस चले जाओ, जिधर का तुम्हे आदेश है।" |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | बस तो आप कुछ रात रहे अपने लड़के बालों को लेकर निकल जाइए और आप सब के सब पीछे रहिएगा और उन लोगों में से कोई मुड़कर पीछे न देखे और जिधर (जाने) का हुक्म दिया गया है (शाम) उधर (सीधे) चले जाओ और हमने लूत के पास इस अम्र का क़तई फैसला कहला भेजा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | इसलिए रात के एक हिस्से के बीत जाने के बाद अपने परिवार के साथ चल पड़ें। तथा आप स्वयं उनके पीछे-पीछे चलें। और आप लोगों में से कोई भी पीछे मुड़कर न देखे कि उनके साथ क्या हुआ। और अल्लाह ने आप लोगों को जहाँ जाने का आदेश दिया है, वहाँ चलते जाओ। |
| Ayah 66 |
| عَرَبِي | وَقَضَينا إِلَيهِ ذٰلِكَ الأَمرَ أَنَّ دابِرَ هٰؤُلاءِ مَقطوعٌ مُصبِحينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waqadayna ilayhi thalika alamra anna dabira haolai maqtooAAun musbiheena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa qadainaaa ilaihi zaalikal amra anna daabira haaa'ulaaa'i maqtoo'um musbiheen |
| English (Pickthall) | And We made plain the case to him, that the root of them (who did wrong) was to be cut at early morn. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And We made known this decree to him, that the last remnants of those (sinners) should be cut off by the morning. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And We conveyed to him [the decree] of that matter: that those [sinners] would be eliminated by early morning. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | We made known to Lot by means of revelation the matter that We had decreed, which was that those people will be annihilated by the last of them being destroyed when morning comes. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | हमने उसे अपना यह फ़ैसला पहुँचा दिया कि प्रातः होते-होते उनकी जड़ कट चुकी होगी |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | कि बस सुबह होते होते उन लोगों की जड़ काट डाली जाएगी |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और हमने लूत अलैहिस्सलाम को वह़्य (प्रकाशना) द्वारा उस मामले से सूचित कर दिया जिसका हमने निर्णय किया था कि सुबह होते ही इनके अंतिम व्यक्ति तक को विनष्ट करके इनका उन्मूलन कर दिया जाएगा। |
| Ayah 67 |
| عَرَبِي | وَجاءَ أَهلُ المَدينَةِ يَستَبشِرونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wajaa ahlu almadeenati yastabshiroona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa jaaa'a ahlul madeenati yastabshiroon |
| English (Pickthall) | And the people of the city came, rejoicing at the news (of new arrivals). |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | The inhabitants of the city came in (mad) joy (at news of the young men). |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And the people of the city came rejoicing. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | The people of Sodom came rejoicing at the guests of Lot, with the desire to commit indecency. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | इतने में नगर के लोग ख़ुश-ख़ुश आ पहुँचे |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और (ये बात हो रही थीं कि) शहर के लोग (मेहमानों की ख़बर सुन कर बुरी नीयत से) खुशियाँ मनाते हुए आ पहुँचे |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और सदूम वाले, दुष्कर्म करने की लालच में, लूत अलैहिस्सलाम के अतिथियों पर बहुत खुश होकर आए। |
| Ayah 68 |
| عَرَبِي | قالَ إِنَّ هٰؤُلاءِ ضَيفي فَلا تَفضَحونِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Qala inna haolai dayfee fala tafdahooni |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Qaala inna haaa'ulaaa'i daifee falaa tafdahoon |
| English (Pickthall) | He said: Lo! they are my guests. Affront me not! |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Lut said: "These are my guests: disgrace me not: |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | [Lot] said, "Indeed, these are my guests, so do not shame me. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Lot said to them: These people are my guests, so do not disgrace me by what you want with them. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | उसने कहा, "ये मेरे अतिथि है। मेरी फ़ज़ीहत मत करना, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | लूत ने (उनसे कहा) कि ये लोग मेरे मेहमान है तो तुम (इन्हें सताकर) मुझे रुसवा बदनाम न करो |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | लूत अलैहिस्सलाम ने उनसे कहा : ये लोग मेरे अतिथि हैं। अतः मुझे उस चीज़ के द्वारा अपमानित न करो जो तुम उनके साथ करना चाहते हो। |
| Ayah 69 |
| عَرَبِي | وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَلا تُخزونِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waittaqoo Allaha wala tukhzooni |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wattaqul laaha wa laa tukhzoon |
| English (Pickthall) | And keep your duty to Allah, and shame me not! |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | "But fear Allah, and shame me not." |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And fear Allah and do not disgrace me." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Fear Allah by leaving this indecent behaviour and do not humiliate me by this heinous act of yours. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अल्लाह का डर ऱखो, मुझे रुसवा न करो।" |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और ख़ुदा से डरो और मुझे ज़लील न करो |

| Ayah 70 |
| عَرَبِي | قالوا أَوَلَم نَنهَكَ عَنِ العالَمينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Qaloo awalam nanhaka AAani alAAalameena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Qaalooo awalam nanhaka 'anil 'aalameen |
| English (Pickthall) | They said; Have we not forbidden you from (entertaining) anyone? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | They said: "Did we not forbid thee (to speak) for all and sundry?" |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | They said, "Have we not forbidden you from [protecting] people?" |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | His people said to him: Did we not forbid you from hosting anyone? One who provides a warning has in effect excused himself for taking someone to account for not abiding by it. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | उन्होंने कहा, "क्या हमने तुम्हें दुनिया भर के लोगों का ज़िम्मा लेने से रोका नहीं था?" |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | वह लोग कहने लगे क्यों जी हमने तुम को सारे जहाँन के लोगों (के आने) की मनाही नहीं कर दी थी |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | उनकी जाति ने उनसे कहा : क्या हमने आपको किसी भी व्यक्ति को अतिथि बनाने से मना नहीं किया? |
| Ayah 71 |
| عَرَبِي | قالَ هٰؤُلاءِ بَناتي إِن كُنتُم فاعِلينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Qala haolai banatee in kuntum faAAileena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Qaala haaa'ulaaa'i banaateee in kuntum faa'ileen |
| English (Pickthall) | He said: Here are my daughters, if ye must be doing (so). |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | He said: "There are my daughters (to marry), if ye must act (so)." |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | [Lot] said, "These are my daughters - if you would be doers [of lawful marriage]." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Lot (peace be with him) said to them: These are the women of my people, who are like daughters to me. Marry them if you want to satisfy your desires. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | उसने कहा, "तुमको यदि कुछ करना है, तो ये मेरी (क़ौम की) बेटियाँ (विधितः विवाह के लिए) मौजूद है।" |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | लूत ने कहा अगर तुमको (ऐसा ही) करना है तो ये मेरी क़ौम की बेटियाँ मौजूद हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | लूत अलैहिस्सलाम ने अपने अतिथियों के सामने अपने लिए उज़्र प्रस्तुत करते हुए अपनी जाति के लोगों से कहा : ये तुम्हारी कुल स्त्रियों में से मेरी बेटियाँ हैं। अतः यदि तुम अपनी कामवासना की पूर्ति चाहते हो, तो इनसे शादी कर लो। |
| Ayah 72 |
| عَرَبِي | لَعَمرُكَ إِنَّهُم لَفي سَكرَتِهِم يَعمَهونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | LaAAamruka innahum lafee sakratihim yaAAmahoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | La'amruka innahum lafee sakratihim ya'mahoon |
| English (Pickthall) | By thy life (O Muhammad) they moved blindly in the frenzy of approaching death. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Verily, by thy life (O Prophet), in their wild intoxication, they wander in distraction, to and fro. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | By your life, [O Muhammad], indeed they were, in their intoxication, wandering blindly. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | By your life - O Messenger - the people of Lot wander blindly in pursuit of their lusts. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | तुम्हारे जीवन की सौगन्ध, वे अपनी मस्ती में खोए हुए थे, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | (इनसे निकाह कर लो) ऐ रसूल तुम्हारी जान की कसम ये लोग (क़ौम लूत) अपनी मस्ती में मदहोश हो रहे थे |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | (ऐ रसूल!) आपके जीवन की क़सम, निःसंदेह लूत अलैहिस्सलाम की जाति के लोग अपनी कामवासना की प्रबलता में भटक रहे थे। |
| Ayah 73 |
| عَرَبِي | فَأَخَذَتهُمُ الصَّيحَةُ مُشرِقينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faakhathathumu alssayhatu mushriqeena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fa akhazat humus saihatu mushriqeen |
| English (Pickthall) | Then the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the sunrise. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | But the (mighty) Blast overtook them before morning, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | So the shriek seized them at sunrise. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | The destructive punishment seized them at the time of sunrise. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अन्ततः पौ फटते-फटते एक भयंकर आवाज़ ने उन्हें आ लिया, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | (लूत की सुनते काहे को) ग़रज़ सूरज निकलते निकलते उनको (बड़े ज़ोरो की) चिघाड़ न ले डाला |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अंततः उनके सूरज निकलने के समय में प्रवेश करते ही उन्हें एक तेज़ विनाशकारी आवाज़ ने पकड़ लिया। |
| Ayah 74 |
| عَرَبِي | فَجَعَلنا عالِيَها سافِلَها وَأَمطَرنا عَلَيهِم حِجارَةً مِن سِجّيلٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | FajaAAalna AAaliyaha safilaha waamtarna AAalayhim hijaratan min sijjeelin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Faja'alnaa 'aaliyahaa saafilahaa wa amtamaa 'alaihim hijaaratam min sjijjeel |
| English (Pickthall) | And We utterly confounded them, and We rained upon them stones of heated clay. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And We turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And We made the highest part [of the city] its lowest and rained upon them stones of hard clay. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | We turned their towns upside down and rained on them a shower of petrified clay. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और हमने उस बस्ती को तलपट कर दिया, और उनपर कंकरीले पत्थर बरसाए |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | फिर हमने उसी बस्ती को उलट कर उसके ऊपर के तबके क़ो नीचे का तबक़ा बना दिया और उसके ऊपर उन पर खरन्जे के पत्थर बरसा दिए इसमें शक़ नहीं कि इसमें (असली बात के) ताड़ जाने वालों के लिए (कुदरते ख़ुदा की) बहुत सी निशानियाँ हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तो हमने उनकी बस्तियों को ऊपर-नीचे पलट दिया और उनपर कंकड़ के पत्थर बरसाए। |
| Ayah 75 |
| عَرَبِي | إِنَّ في ذٰلِكَ لَآياتٍ لِلمُتَوَسِّمينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Inna fee thalika laayatin lilmutawassimeena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Inna fee zaalika la Aayaatil lilmutawassimeen |
| English (Pickthall) | Lo! therein verily are portents for those who read the signs. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Behold! in this are Signs for those who by tokens do understand. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Indeed in that are signs for those who discern. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | In the incident mentioned about the punishment that descended on the people of Lot there are signs for those who ponder. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | निश्चय ही इसमें भापनेवालों के लिए निशानियाँ है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और वह उलटी हुई बस्ती हमेशा (की आमदरफ्त) |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | लूत अलैहिस्सलाम की जाति पर उतरने वाले विनाश की घटना में, सोच-विचार करने वालों के लिए बहुत-सी निशानियाँ हैं। |

| عَرَبِي | وَإِنَّها لَبِسَبيلٍ مُقيمٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wainnaha labisabeelin muqeemin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa innahaa labi sabeelim muqeem |
| English (Pickthall) | And lo! it is upon a road still uneffaced. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And the (cities were) right on the high-road. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And indeed, those cities are [situated] on an established road. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | The towns of the people of Lot are on an existing road and can be seen by travellers who pass by. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और वह (बस्ती) सार्वजनिक मार्ग पर है |

| عَرَبِي | إِنَّ في ذٰلِكَ لَآيَةً لِلمُؤمِنينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Inna fee thalika laayatan lilmumineena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Inna fee zaalika la Aayatal lilmu'mineen |
| English (Pickthall) | Lo! therein is indeed a portent for believers. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Behold! in this is a sign for those who believed. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Indeed in that is a sign for the believers. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | In that which occurred there is a sign for the believers to take lesson from. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | निश्चय ही इसमें मोमिनों के लिए एक बड़ी निशानी है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | इसमें तो शक हीं नहीं कि इसमें ईमानदारों के वास्ते (कुदरते ख़ुदा की) बहुत बड़ी निशानी है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | यह जो कुछ घटित हुआ, इसमें ईमान वालों के लिए एक निशानी है, जिससे वे सीख ले सकते हैं। |
| Ayah 78 |
| عَرَبِي | وَإِن كانَ أَصحابُ الأَيكَةِ لَظالِمينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wain kana ashabu alaykati lathalimeena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa in kaana Ashaabul Aikati lazaalimeen |
| English (Pickthall) | And the dwellers in the wood indeed were evil-doers. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And the Companions of the Wood were also wrong-doers; |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And the companions of the thicket were [also] wrongdoers. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | The people of Shuayb, who lived in a town surrounded by intertwined trees, were wrongdoers; because of their denial of Allah and rejection of His Messenger, Shuayb (peace be with him). |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और निश्चय ही ऐसा वाले भी अत्याचारी थे, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और एैका के रहने वाले (क़ौमे शुएब की तरह बड़े सरकश थे) |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | घने पेड़ों वाली बस्ती वाले, शुऐब अलैहिस्सलाम की जाति के लोग भी अत्याचारी थे। क्योंकि उन्होंने अल्लाह का इनकार किया था और उसके रसूल शुऐब अलैहिस्सलाम को झुठलाया था। |
| Ayah 79 |
| عَرَبِي | فَانتَقَمنا مِنهُم وَإِنَّهُما لَبِإِمامٍ مُبينٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faintaqamna minhum wainnahuma labiimamin mubeenin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fantaqamnaa minhum wa innahumaa labi imaamim mubeen |
| English (Pickthall) | So we took vengeance on them; and lo! they both are on a high-road plain to see. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | So We exacted retribution from them. They were both on an open highway, plain to see. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | So We took retribution from them, and indeed, both [cities] are on a clear highway. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | We took retribution from them when the punishment seized them. The towns of the people of Lot and the dwellings of the people of Shuayb are on a path clear to those who pass by. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | फिर हमने उनसे भी बदला लिया, और ये दोनों (भू-भाग) खुले मार्ग पर स्थित है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो उन से भी हमने (नाफरमानी का) बदला लिया और ये दो बस्तियाँ (क़ौमे लूत व शुएब की) एक खुली हुई यह राह पर (अभी तक मौजूद) हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तो हमने उनसे प्रतिशोध (बदला) लिया। चुनाँचे उन्हें यातना ने पकड़ लिया। और लूत अलैहिस्सलाम की जाति की बस्तियाँ और शुऐब अलैहिस्सलाम के मानने वालों के घर ऐसे मार्ग पर स्थित हैं जो वहाँ से गुज़रने वाले के लिए बिल्कुल स्पष्ट है। |
| Ayah 80 |
| عَرَبِي | وَلَقَد كَذَّبَ أَصحابُ الحِجرِ المُرسَلينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Walaqad kaththaba ashabu alhijri almursaleena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa laqad kazzaba ashaabul Hijril mursaleen |
| English (Pickthall) | And the dwellers in Al-Hijr denied (Our) messengers. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | The Companions of the Rocky Tract also rejected the messengers: |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And certainly did the companions of Thamud deny the messengers. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Indeed the Thamud, who were the people of Hijr (a place between Hijaz and the Levant) had in effect rejected all the Messengers when they rejected their prophet, Salih (peace be with him.) |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | हिज्रवाले भी रसूलों को झुठला चुके है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और इसी तरह हिज्र के रहने वालों (क़ौम सालेह ने भी) पैग़म्बरों को झुठलाया |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और समूद की जाति अर्थात् ह़िज्र (हिजाज़ और शाम के बीच एक स्थान) के रहने वालों ने अपने नबी सालेह अलैहिस्सलाम को झुठलाकर सभी रसूलों को झुठलाया। |
| Ayah 81 |
| عَرَبِي | وَآتَيناهُم آياتِنا فَكانوا عَنها مُعرِضينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waataynahum ayatina fakanoo AAanha muAArideena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa aatainaahum Aayaatinaa fakaanoo 'anhaa mu'rideen |
| English (Pickthall) | And we gave them Our revelations, but they were averse to them. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | We sent them Our Signs, but they persisted in turning away from them. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And We gave them Our signs, but from them they were turning away. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | We gave them proofs and signs to indicate his truthfulness in what he brought from his Lord. One of these was the she-camel. But they did not take a lesson from those signs and paid no attention to them. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | हमने तो उन्हें अपनी निशानियाँ प्रदान की थी, परन्तु वे उनकी उपेक्षा ही करते रहे |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और (बावजूद कि) हमने उन्हें अपनी निशानियाँ दी उस पर भी वह लोग उनसे रद गिरदानी करते रहे |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और हमने उन्हें उनके सच्चे नबी होने के प्रमाण और निशानियाँ दी थीं, जिनमें से एक निशानी ऊँटनी थी। परंतु उन्होंने उन प्रमाणों से सीख नहीं लिया और उनकी कोई परवाह नहीं की। |

| عَرَبِي | وَكانوا يَنحِتونَ مِنَ الجِبالِ بُيوتًا آمِنينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wakanoo yanhitoona mina aljibali buyootan amineena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa kaanoo yanhitoona minal jibaali buyootan aamineen |
| English (Pickthall) | And they used to hew out dwellings from the hills, (wherein they dwelt) secure. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Out of the mountains did they hew (their) edifices, (feeling themselves) secure. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And they used to carve from the mountains, houses, feeling secure. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | They used to carve out dwellings in the rocks of the mountains in which they lived safe from that which they feared. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | वे बड़ी बेफ़िक्री से पहाड़ो को काट-काटकर घर बनाते थे |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और बहुत दिल जोई से पहाड़ों को तराश कर घर बनाते रहे |

| عَرَبِي | فَأَخَذَتهُمُ الصَّيحَةُ مُصبِحينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faakhathathumu alssayhatu musbiheena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fa akhazat humus saihatu musbiheen |
| English (Pickthall) | But the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the morning hour, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | But the (mighty) Blast seized them of a morning, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | But the shriek seized them at early morning. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Then the bolt of the punishment seized them in the morning. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अन्ततः एक भयानक आवाज़ ने प्रातः होते- होते उन्हें आ लिया |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | आख़िर उनके सुबह होते होते एक बड़ी (जोरों की) चिंघाड़ ने ले डाला |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अंततः उनके सुबह के समय में प्रवेश करते ही, उन्हें यातना के चीत्कार ने पकड़ लिया। |
| Ayah 84 |
| عَرَبِي | فَما أَغنىٰ عَنهُم ما كانوا يَكسِبونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fama aghna AAanhum ma kanoo yaksiboona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Famaaa aghnaa 'anhum maa kaanoo yaksiboon |
| English (Pickthall) | And that which they were wont to count as gain availed them not. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And of no avail to them was all that they did (with such art and care)! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | So nothing availed them [from] what they used to earn. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | The wealth and the dwellings that they had gained did not ward off Allah’s punishment. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | फिर जो कुछ वे कमाते रहे, वह उनके कुछ काम न आ सका |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | परंतु उनके कमाए हुए धन और उनके घर उनसे अल्लाह की यातना को टाल न सके। |
| Ayah 85 |
| عَرَبِي | وَما خَلَقنَا السَّماواتِ وَالأَرضَ وَما بَينَهُما إِلّا بِالحَقِّ ۗ وَإِنَّ السّاعَةَ لَآتِيَةٌ ۖ فَاصفَحِ الصَّفحَ الجَميلَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wama khalaqna alssamawati waalarda wama baynahuma illa bialhaqqi wainna alssaAAata laatiyatun faisfahi alssafha aljameela |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa maa khalaqnas samaawaati wal arda wa maa bainahumaaa illaa bilhaqq; wa innas Saa'ata la aatiyatun fasfahis safhal jameel |
| English (Pickthall) | We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them save with truth, and lo! the Hour is surely coming. So forgive, (O Muhammad), with a gracious forgiveness. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, but for just ends. And the Hour is surely coming (when this will be manifest). So overlook (any human faults) with gracious forgiveness. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And We have not created the heavens and earth and that between them except in truth. And indeed, the Hour is coming; so forgive with gracious forgiveness. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | We did not create the heavens and the earth and we did not create everything between them in vain without any wisdom. We only created all of that with a true purpose. The Hour will certainly come, so, O Messenger, ignore those who reject you and pardon them graciously. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | हमने तो आकाशों और धरती को और जो कुछ उनके मध्य है, सोद्देश्य पैदा किया है, और वह क़ियामत की घड़ी तो अनिवार्यतः आनेवाली है। अतः तुम भली प्रकार दरगुज़र (क्षमा) से काम लो |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और हमने आसमानों और ज़मीन को और जो कुछ उन दोनों के दरमियान में है हिकमत व मसलहत से पैदा किया है और क़यामत यक़ीनन ज़रुर आने वाली है तो तुम (ऐ रसूल) उन काफिरों से शाइस्ता उनवान (अच्छे बरताव) के साथ दर गुज़र करो |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | हमने आसमानों और ज़मीन और उनके बीच की समस्त चीज़ों को बिना हिकमत के व्यर्थ (निरुद्देश्य) पैदा नहीं किया है। हमने यह सब सत्य के साथ पैदा किया है और निःसंदेह क़ियामत अवश्य आने वाली है। अतः (ऐ रसूल!) आप झुठलाने वालों को नज़रअंदाज़ कर दें और उन्हें भले तौर पर क्षमा कर दें। |

| عَرَبِي | إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ الخَلّاقُ العَليمُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Inna rabbaka huwa alkhallaqu alAAaleemu |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Inna Rabbaka Huwal khallaaqul 'aleem |
| English (Pickthall) | Lo! Thy Lord! He is the All-Wise Creator. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | For verily it is thy Lord who is the Master-Creator, knowing all things. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Indeed, your Lord - He is the Knowing Creator. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Your Lord, O Messenger, is the Creator and the Knower of everything. |

| عَرَبِي | وَلَقَد آتَيناكَ سَبعًا مِنَ المَثاني وَالقُرآنَ العَظيمَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Walaqad ataynaka sabAAan mina almathanee waalqurana alAAatheema |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa laqad aatainaaka sab'am mnal masaanee wal Qur-aanal 'azeem |
| English (Pickthall) | We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the great Qur'an. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And We have bestowed upon thee the Seven Oft-repeated (verses) and the Grand Qur'an. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Qur'an. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | We have given you ‘The Opening (Sūrah Al-Fātiḥah)’ which consists of seven verses and We have given you the Grand Qur’ān. |

| عَرَبِي | لا تَمُدَّنَّ عَينَيكَ إِلىٰ ما مَتَّعنا بِهِ أَزواجًا مِنهُم وَلا تَحزَن عَلَيهِم وَاخفِض جَناحَكَ لِلمُؤمِنينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | La tamuddanna AAaynayka ila ma mattaAAna bihi azwajan minhum wala tahzan AAalayhim waikhfid janahaka lilmumineena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Laa tamuddanna 'ainaika ilaa maa matta 'naa biheee azwaajam minhum wa laa tahzan 'alaihim wakhfid janaahaka lilmu 'mineen |
| English (Pickthall) | Strain not thine eyes toward that which We cause some wedded pairs among them to enjoin, and be not grieved on their account, and lower thy wing (in tenderness) for the believers. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Strain not thine eyes. (Wistfully) at what We have bestowed on certain classes of them, nor grieve over them: but lower thy wing (in gentleness) to the believers. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [certain] categories of the disbelievers, and do not grieve over them. And lower your wing to the believers |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | हमने काफ़िरों के विभिन्न प्रकार के लोगों को, नष्ट हो जाने वाली जीवन की जो सामग्रियाँ दे रखी हैं, आप उनकी ओर न देखें और उनके झुठलाने पर दुखी न हों और मोमिनों के प्रति विनम्रता अपनाएँ। |
| Ayah 89 |
| عَرَبِي | وَقُل إِنّي أَنَا النَّذيرُ المُبينُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waqul innee ana alnnatheeru almubeenu |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa qul inneee anan nazeerul mubeen |
| English (Pickthall) | And say: Lo! I, even I, am a plain warner, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And say: "I am indeed he that warneth openly and without ambiguity,"- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And say, "Indeed, I am the clear warner" - |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Say - O Messenger: I am indeed a warner of the punishment and I make clear that which will guide you. |

| عَرَبِي | كَما أَنزَلنا عَلَى المُقتَسِمينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Kama anzalna AAala almuqtasimeena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Kamaaa anzalnaa 'alal muqtasimeen |
| English (Pickthall) | Such as We send down for those who make division, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | (Of just such wrath) as We sent down on those who divided (Scripture into arbitrary parts),- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Just as We had revealed [scriptures] to the separators |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | I warn you of a punishment similar to that which Allah sent down on those who formed an alliance to deny the messengers. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | मैं तुम्हें इस बात से डराता हूँ कि तुमपर उसी तरह की यातना आए, जिस तरह की यातना अल्लाह ने उन लोगो पर अवतिरत की थी, जिन्होंने अल्लाह की किताबों को विभिन्न भागों में बाँट दिया था। चुनाँचे वे कुछ भागों पर ईमान रखते थे और कुछ भागों का इनकार करते थे। |

| عَرَبِي | الَّذينَ جَعَلُوا القُرآنَ عِضينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Allatheena jaAAaloo alqurana AAideena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Allazeena ja'alul Quraana'ideen |
| English (Pickthall) | Those who break the Qur'an into parts. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | (So also on such) as have made Qur'an into shreds (as they please). |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Who have made the Qur'an into portions. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Those who accepts parts of the Qur’ān and allege other parts to be sorcery, soothsaying or poetry. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | जिन्होंने (अपने) क़ुरआन को टुकड़े-टुकड़े कर डाला |

| عَرَبِي | فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَسأَلَنَّهُم أَجمَعينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fawarabbika lanasalannahum ajmaAAeena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fawa Rabbika lanas'a lannahum ajma'een |
| English (Pickthall) | Them, by thy Lord, We shall question, every one, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Therefore, by the Lord, We will, of a surety, call them to account, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | So by your Lord, We will surely question them all |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | By your Lord, O Messenger, I will on the Day of Judgement bring all those who break it into parts to account. |

| عَرَبِي | عَمّا كانوا يَعمَلونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | AAamma kanoo yaAAmaloona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | 'Ammaa kaanoo ya'maloon |

| English (Yusuf Ali) | For all their deeds. |

| English (Abridged Expl.) | We will question them about the disbelief and sins they committed in the world. |

| عَرَبِي | فَاصدَع بِما تُؤمَرُ وَأَعرِض عَنِ المُشرِكينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | FaisdaAA bima tumaru waaAArid AAani almushrikeena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fasda' bimaa tu'maru wa a'rid anil mushrikeen |
| English (Pickthall) | So proclaim that which thou art commanded, and withdraw from the idolaters. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Therefore expound openly what thou art commanded, and turn away from those who join false gods with Allah. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Then declare what you are commanded and turn away from the polytheists. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | So announce, O Messenger, the invitation towards Allah that He has instructed you to do and do not pay any attention to what the idolaters say and do. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अतः तु्म्हें जिस चीज़ का आदेश हुआ है, उसे हाँक-पुकारकर बयान कर दो, और मुशरिको की ओर ध्यान न दो |

| عَرَبِي | إِنّا كَفَيناكَ المُستَهزِئينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Inna kafaynaka almustahzieena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Innaa kafainaakal mustahzi'een |
| English (Pickthall) | Lo! We defend thee from the scoffers, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | For sufficient are We unto thee against those who scoff,- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Indeed, We are sufficient for you against the mockers |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Do not be afraid of them, for we are enough for you against those leaders of disbelief from the Quraysh who mock at you. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | उपहास करनेवालों के लिए हम तुम्हारी ओर से काफ़ी है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | जो लोग तुम्हारी हँसी उड़ाते है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | आप उनसे न डरें। क्योंकि हम क़ुरैश के मज़ाक़ उड़ाने वाले कुफ़्र के प्रमुखों की चालों को नाकाम बनाने के लिए आपकी ओर से काफ़ी हैं। |
| Ayah 96 |
| عَرَبِي | الَّذينَ يَجعَلونَ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلٰهًا آخَرَ ۚ فَسَوفَ يَعلَمونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Allatheena yajAAaloona maAAa Allahi ilahan akhara fasawfa yaAAlamoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Allazeena yaj'aloona ma'al laahi ilaahan aakhar; fasawfa ya'lamoon |
| English (Pickthall) | Who set some other god along with Allah. But they will come to know. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Those who adopt, with Allah, another god: but soon will they come to know. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Who make [equal] with Allah another deity. But they are going to know. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Those who take another deity along with Allah. They will soon come to know the evil outcome of their associating partners with Allah. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | जो अल्लाह के साथ दूसरों को पूज्य-प्रभु ठहराते है, तो शीघ्र ही उन्हें मालूम हो जाएगा! |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और ख़ुदा के साथ दूसरे परवरदिगार को (शरीक) ठहराते हैं हम तुम्हारी तरफ से उनके लिए काफी हैं तो अनक़रीब ही उन्हें मालूम हो जाएगा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | जो अल्लाह के साथ अन्य पूज्य बनाते हैं। अतः वे अपने शिर्क का बुरा परिणाम जान लेंगे। |
| Ayah 97 |
| عَرَبِي | وَلَقَد نَعلَمُ أَنَّكَ يَضيقُ صَدرُكَ بِما يَقولونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Walaqad naAAlamu annaka yadeequ sadruka bima yaqooloona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa laqad na'lamu annak yadeequ sadruka bimaa yaqooloon |
| English (Pickthall) | Well know We that thy bosom is oppressed by what they say, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | We do indeed know how thy heart is distressed at what they say. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And We already know that your breast is constrained by what they say. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | We know that your heart, O Messenger, is constrained by the rejection and mockery of you that emanates from them. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | हम जानते है कि वे जो कुछ कहते है, उससे तुम्हारा दिल तंग होता है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | कि तुम जो इन (कुफ्फारों मुनाफिक़ीन) की बातों से दिल तंग होते हो उसको हम ज़रुर जानते हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और निश्चय हम जानते हैं कि (ऐ रसूल!) उनके आपको झुठलाने और आपका मज़ाक़ उड़ाने के कारण आपका सीना तंग होता है। |
| Ayah 98 |
| عَرَبِي | فَسَبِّح بِحَمدِ رَبِّكَ وَكُن مِنَ السّاجِدينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fasabbih bihamdi rabbika wakun mina alssajideena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fasbbih bihamdi Rabbika wa kum minas saajideen |
| English (Pickthall) | But hymn the praise of thy Lord, and be of those who make prostration (unto Him). |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | But celebrate the praises of thy Lord, and be of those who prostrate themselves in adoration. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | So exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord and be of those who prostrate [to Him]. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | So resort to Allah by declaring His transcendence from everything not appropriate for Him, and by praising Him with the attributes of His perfection; and be one of those who worship Allah and pray to Him. In that there is a cure for the strain on your heart. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | तो तुम अपने रब का गुणगान करो और सजदा करनेवालों में सम्मिलित रहो |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो तुम अपने परवरदिगार की हम्दो सना से उसकी तस्बीह करो और (उसकी बारगाह में) सजदा करने वालों में हो जाओ |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अतः आप अल्लाह को उन चीज़ों से पाक करके जो उसके योग्य नहीं हैं, तथा उसके पूर्णता के गुणों के साथ उसकी प्रशंसा करते हुए अल्लाह का आश्रय लें, तथा अल्लाह की उपासना करने वालों, उसके लिए नमाज़ पढ़ने वालों में से हो जाएँ। क्योंकि इसमें आपके दिल की तंगी का इलाज है। |
| Ayah 99 |
| عَرَبِي | وَاعبُد رَبَّكَ حَتّىٰ يَأتِيَكَ اليَقينُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | WaoAAbud rabbaka hatta yatiyaka alyaqeenu |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa'bud Rabbaka hattaa yaatiyakal yaqeen |
| English (Pickthall) | And serve thy Lord till the Inevitable cometh unto thee. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And serve thy Lord until there come unto thee the Hour that is Certain. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (death). |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Go on worshipping your Lord and continue doing so as long as you live until death comes to you in that state. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और अपने रब की बन्दगी में लगे रहो, यहाँ तक कि जो यक़ीनी है, वह तुम्हारे सामने आ जाए |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और जब तक तुम्हारे पास मौत आए अपने परवरदिगार की इबादत में लगे रहो |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तथा जब तक आप जीवित हैं, अपने रब की इबादत करना जारी रखें और उसपर क़ायम रहें, यहाँ तक कि इसी अवस्था में आपके पास मौत आ जाए। |
