| Ayah 1 |
| عَرَبِي | يا أَيُّهَا الَّذينَ آمَنوا لا تَتَّخِذوا عَدُوّي وَعَدُوَّكُم أَولِياءَ تُلقونَ إِلَيهِم بِالمَوَدَّةِ وَقَد كَفَروا بِما جاءَكُم مِنَ الحَقِّ يُخرِجونَ الرَّسولَ وَإِيّاكُم ۙ أَن تُؤمِنوا بِاللَّهِ رَبِّكُم إِن كُنتُم خَرَجتُم جِهادًا في سَبيلي وَابتِغاءَ مَرضاتي ۚ تُسِرّونَ إِلَيهِم بِالمَوَدَّةِ وَأَنا أَعلَمُ بِما أَخفَيتُم وَما أَعلَنتُم ۚ وَمَن يَفعَلهُ مِنكُم فَقَد ضَلَّ سَواءَ السَّبيلِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tattakhithoo AAaduwwee waAAaduwwakum awliyaa tulqoona ilayhim bialmawaddati waqad kafaroo bima jaakum mina alhaqqi yukhrijoona alrrasoola waiyyakum an tuminoo biAllahi rabbikum in kuntum kharajtum jihadan fee sabeelee waibtighaa mardatee tusirroona ilayhim bialmawaddati waana aAAlamu bima akhfaytum wama aAAlantum waman yafAAalhu minkum faqad dalla sawaa alssabeeli |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Yaa ayyuhal lazeena aamanoo laa tattakhizoo 'aduwwee wa 'aduwaakum awliyaaa'a tulqoona ilaihim bilmawaddati wa qad kafaroo bima jaaa'akum minal haqq, yukhrijoonar Rasoola wa iyyaakum an tu'minoo billaahi rabbikum in kuntum kharajtum jihaadan fee sabeelee wabtighaaa'a mardaatee; tusirroona ilaihim bilma waddati wa ana a'alamu bimaaa akhfaitum wa maaa a'lantum; wa many yaf'alhu minkum faqad dalla sawaaa'as sabeel |
| English (Pickthall) | O ye who believe! Choose not My enemy and your enemy for allies. Do ye give them friendship when they disbelieve in that truth which hath come unto you, driving out the messenger and you because ye believe in Allah, your Lord? If ye have come forth to strive in My way and seeking My good pleasure, (show them not friendship). Do ye show friendship unto them in secret, when I am Best Aware of what ye hide and what ye proclaim? And whosoever doeth it among you, he verily hath strayed from the right way. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | O ye who believe! Take not my enemies and yours as friends (or protectors),- offering them (your) love, even though they have rejected the Truth that has come to you, and have (on the contrary) driven out the Prophet and yourselves (from your homes), (simply) because ye believe in Allah your Lord! If ye have come out to strive in My Way and to seek My Good Pleasure, (take them not as friends), holding secret converse of love (and friendship) with them: for I know full well all that ye conceal and all that ye reveal. And any of you that does this has strayed from the Straight Path. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | O you who have believed, do not take My enemies and your enemies as allies, extending to them affection while they have disbelieved in what came to you of the truth, having driven out the Prophet and yourselves [only] because you believe in Allah, your Lord. If you have come out for jihad in My cause and seeking means to My approval, [take them not as friends]. You confide to them affection, but I am most knowing of what you have concealed and what you have declared. And whoever does it among you has certainly strayed from the soundness of the way. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O those who have faith in Allah and act upon what He has legislated for them! Do not take My enemies and your enemies as intimate friends who you befriend and love, when they have disbelieved in the religion that has come to you at the hands of your Messenger. They also drove the Messenger out of his home in Makkah, and drove you out of your homes in Makkah too. They do not consider the bonds of kinship nor blood in your regard; not due to anything except that you have brought faith in Allah who is your Lord. So if you have truly gone out to strive in My path and to seek My pleasure, do not befriend them while also secretly sending the information about the Muslims, out of your love for them. I know better of what you conceal in that regard, and what you disclose; nothing is hidden from me in any case. And whoever intimately befriends and loves the disbelievers has verily strayed from the middle path, deviated from the truth and avoided that which is right. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | ऐ ईमान लानेवालो! यदि तुम मेरे मार्ग में जिहाद के लिए और मेरी प्रसन्नता की तलाश में निकले हो तो मेरे शत्रुओं और अपने शत्रुओं को मित्र न बनाओ कि उनके प्रति प्रेम दिखाओं, जबकि तुम्हारे पास जो सत्य आया है उसका वे इनकार कर चुके है। वे रसूल को और तुम्हें इसलिए निर्वासित करते है कि तुम अपने रब - अल्लाह पर ईमान लाए हो। तुम गुप्त रूप से उनसे मित्रता की बातें करते हो। हालाँकि मैं भली-भाँति जानता हूँ जो कुछ तुम छिपाते हो और व्यक्त करते हो। और जो कोई भी तुममें से भटक गया |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | ऐ ईमानदारों अगर तुम मेरी राह में जेहाद करने और मेरी ख़ुशनूदी की तमन्ना में (घर से) निकलते हो तो मेरे और अपने दुशमनों को दोस्त न बनाओ तुम उनके पास दोस्ती का पैग़ाम भेजते हो और जो दीन हक़ तुम्हारे पास आया है उससे वह लोग इनकार करते हैं वह लोग रसूल को और तुमको इस बात पर (घर से) निकालते हैं कि तुम अपने परवरदिगार ख़ुदा पर ईमान ले आए हो (और) तुम हो कि उनके पास छुप छुप के दोस्ती का पैग़ाम भेजते हो हालॉकि तुम कुछ भी छुपा कर या बिल एलान करते हो मैं उससे ख़ूब वाक़िफ़ हूँ और तुममें से जो शख़्श ऐसा करे तो वह सीधी राह से यक़ीनन भटक गया |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | ऐ अल्लाह पर ईमान रखने और उसकी शरीयत पर अमल करने वालो! मेरे दुश्मनों और अपने दुश्मनों को दोस्त न बनाओ कि उनसे मित्रता रखो और उनके प्रति प्रेम दिखाओं, जबकि उन्होंने उस धर्म का इनकार किया है, जो तुम्हारे नबी के द्वारा तुम्हारे पास आया है। वे रसूल को उनके घर से निकालते हैं तथा तुम्हें भी मक्का में तुम्हारे घरों से निकालते हैं। वे तुम्हारे बारे में रिश्ते-नाते का तनिक भी ख़याल नहीं करते। ऐसा केवल इस कारण करते हैं कि तुम अपने पालनहार अल्लाह पर ईमान ले आए हो। यदि तुम मेरे रास्ते में जिहाद के लिए और मेरी प्रसन्नता तलाश करने के लिए निकले हो, तो ऐसा न करो। तुम उनके प्रति स्नेह के तौर पर उन्हें गुप्त रूप से मुसलमानों की सूचनाएँ प्रदान करते हो, जबकि मैं अच्छी तरह जानता हूँ कि तुमने उसमें से क्या छुपाया है और क्या प्रकट किया है। मुझसे उसमें से या किसी और चीज़ में से कुछ भी छिपा नहीं है। और जो कोई भी काफिरों के प्रति दोस्ती और स्नेह का व्यवहार करेगा, तो वह सीधे रास्ते से हट गया, सत्य मार्ग से भटक गया और यथार्थ से अलग हो गया। |

| عَرَبِي | إِن يَثقَفوكُم يَكونوا لَكُم أَعداءً وَيَبسُطوا إِلَيكُم أَيدِيَهُم وَأَلسِنَتَهُم بِالسّوءِ وَوَدّوا لَو تَكفُرونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | In yathqafookum yakoonoo lakam aAAdaan wayabsutoo ilaykum aydiyahum waalsinatahum bialssooi wawaddoo law takfuroona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Iny yasqafookum yakoonoo lakum a'daaa'anw wa yabsutooo ilaikum aydiyahum wa alsinatahum bissooo'i wa waddoo law takfuroon |
| English (Pickthall) | If they have the upper hand of you, they will be your foes, and will stretch out their hands and their tongues toward you with evil (intent), and they long for you to disbelieve. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | If they were to get the better of you, they would behave to you as enemies, and stretch forth their hands and their tongues against you for evil: and they desire that ye should reject the Truth. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | If they gain dominance over you, they would be to you as enemies and extend against you their hands and their tongues with evil, and they wish you would disbelieve. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | If they get their chance, they will disclose the enmity they harbour in their hearts towards you and will stretch their hands out to you to harm and beat you, while swearing and abusing you with their tongues. They will also desire that you disbelieve in Allah and His Messenger so that you become just like them. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | यदि वे तुम्हें पा जाएँ तो तुम्हारे शत्रु हो जाएँ और कष्ट पहुँचाने के लिए तुमपर हाथ और ज़बान चलाएँ। वे तो चाहते है कि काश! तुम भी इनकार करनेवाले हो जाओ |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | अगर ये लोग तुम पर क़ाबू पा जाएँ तो तुम्हारे दुश्मन हो जाएँ और ईज़ा के लिए तुम्हारी तरफ अपने हाथ भी बढ़ाएँगे और अपनी ज़बाने भी और चाहते हैं कि काश तुम भी काफिर हो जाओ |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | यदि वे तुम्हें (कहीं) पा जाएँ, तो अपने दिलों में छिपाई हुई दुश्मनी का प्रदर्शन करेंगे, और कष्ट पहुँचाने तथा मार पीट करने के लिए तुम्हारी ओर अपने हाथ बढ़ाएँगे, और गाली-गलौज करने तथा बुरा-भला कहने के लिए अपनी ज़बानों को आज़ाद छोड़ देंगे, और इस बात की कामना करेंगे कि काश तुम भी अल्लाह और उसके रसूल का इनकार करके उनके जैसे हो जाओ। |
| Ayah 3 |
| عَرَبِي | لَن تَنفَعَكُم أَرحامُكُم وَلا أَولادُكُم ۚ يَومَ القِيامَةِ يَفصِلُ بَينَكُم ۚ وَاللَّهُ بِما تَعمَلونَ بَصيرٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Lan tanfaAAakum arhamukum wala awladukum yawma alqiyamati yafsilu baynakum waAllahu bima taAAmaloona baseerun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Lan tanfa'akum arhaamukum wa laaa awlaadukum; yawmal qiyaamati yafsilu bainakum; wallaahu bimaa ta'maloon baseer |
| English (Pickthall) | Your ties of kindred and your children will avail you naught upon the Day of Resurrection. He will part you. Allah is Seer of what ye do. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Of no profit to you will be your relatives and your children on the Day of Judgment: He will judge between you: for Allah sees well all that ye do. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Never will your relatives or your children benefit you; the Day of Resurrection He will judge between you. And Allah, of what you do, is Seeing. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Your ties of kinship will never benefit you, nor your offspring, if you intimately befriend the disbelievers due to them. On the Day of Judgement, Allah will separate between you and enter the people of Paradise into Paradise and the people of the hellfire into the hellfire, so you will be of no use to one another. And Allah is watchful of your actions; none of them are hidden from Him (may He be glorified) and He will soon requite you for them. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | क़ियामत के दिन तुम्हारी नातेदारियाँ कदापि तुम्हें लाभ न पहुँचाएँगी और न तुम्हारी सन्तान ही। उस दिन वह (अल्लाह) तुम्हारे बीच जुदाई डाल देगा। जो कुछ भी तुम करते हो अल्लाह उसे देख रहा होता है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | क़यामत के दिन न तुम्हारे रिश्ते नाते ही कुछ काम आएँगे न तुम्हारी औलाद (उस दिन) तो वही फ़ैसला कर देगा और जो कुछ भी तुम करते हो ख़ुदा उसे देख रहा है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तुम्हारे रिश्तेदार और तुम्हारे बच्चे तुम्हें कदापि कोई लाभ नहीं देंगे, अगर तुमने उनकी खातिर काफिरों से दोस्ती रखी। क़ियामत के दिन अल्लाह तुम्हारे बीच जुदाई डाल देगा। चुनाँचे जन्नती लोग जन्नत में प्रवेश करेंगे और जहन्नमी लोग जहन्नम में। अतः तुम एक-दूसरे को लाभ नहीं पहुँचा सकोगे और अल्लाह तुम्हारे कर्मों को देख रहा है। उससे तुम्हारा कोई काम छिपा नहीं है और वह तुम्हें उनका बदला देगा। |
| Ayah 4 |
| عَرَبِي | قَد كانَت لَكُم أُسوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ في إِبراهيمَ وَالَّذينَ مَعَهُ إِذ قالوا لِقَومِهِم إِنّا بُرَآءُ مِنكُم وَمِمّا تَعبُدونَ مِن دونِ اللَّهِ كَفَرنا بِكُم وَبَدا بَينَنا وَبَينَكُمُ العَداوَةُ وَالبَغضاءُ أَبَدًا حَتّىٰ تُؤمِنوا بِاللَّهِ وَحدَهُ إِلّا قَولَ إِبراهيمَ لِأَبيهِ لَأَستَغفِرَنَّ لَكَ وَما أَملِكُ لَكَ مِنَ اللَّهِ مِن شَيءٍ ۖ رَبَّنا عَلَيكَ تَوَكَّلنا وَإِلَيكَ أَنَبنا وَإِلَيكَ المَصيرُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Qad kanat lakum oswatun hasanatun fee ibraheema waallatheena maAAahu ith qaloo liqawmihim inna buraao minkum wamimma taAAbudoona min dooni Allahi kafarna bikum wabada baynana wabaynakumu alAAadawatu waalbaghdao abadan hatta tuminoo biAllahi wahdahu illa qawla ibraheema liabeehi laastaghfiranna laka wama amliku laka mina Allahi min shayin rabbana AAalayka tawakkalna wailayka anabna wailayka almaseeru |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Qad kaanat lakum uswatun basanatun feee Ibraaheema wallazeena ma'ahoo iz qaaloo liqawmihim innaa bura'aaa'u minkum wa mimmaa ta'budoona min doonil laahi kafarnaa bikum wa badaa bainanaa wa bainakumul 'adaawatu wal baghdaaa'u abadan hattaa tu'minoo billaahi wahdahooo illaa qawla Ibraheema li abeehi la astaghfiranna laka wa maaa amliku laka minal laahi min shai; rabbanaa 'alaika tawakkalnaa wa ilaika anabnaa wa ilaikal maseer |
| English (Pickthall) | There is a goodly pattern for you in Abraham and those with him, when they told their folk: Lo! we are guiltless of you and all that ye worship beside Allah. We have done with you. And there hath arisen between us and you hostility and hate for ever until ye believe in Allah only - save that which Abraham promised his father (when he said): I will ask forgiveness for thee, though I own nothing for thee from Allah - Our Lord! In Thee we put our trust, and unto Thee we turn repentant, and unto Thee is the journeying. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | There is for you an excellent example (to follow) in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people: "We are clear of you and of whatever ye worship besides Allah: we have rejected you, and there has arisen, between us and you, enmity and hatred for ever,- unless ye believe in Allah and Him alone": But not when Abraham said to his father: "I will pray for forgiveness for thee, though I have no power (to get) aught on thy behalf from Allah." (They prayed): "Our Lord! in Thee do we trust, and to Thee do we turn in repentance: to Thee is (our) Final Goal. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | There has already been for you an excellent pattern in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people, "Indeed, we are disassociated from you and from whatever you worship other than Allah. We have denied you, and there has appeared between us and you animosity and hatred forever until you believe in Allah alone" except for the saying of Abraham to his father, "I will surely ask forgiveness for you, but I have not [power to do] for you anything against Allah. Our Lord, upon You we have relied, and to You we have returned, and to You is the destination. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O believers! You have a beautiful example to follow in Abraham (peace be upon him) and the believers who were with him, when they said to their disbelieving people: “We have nothing to do with you and the idols you worship instead of Allah. We have disbelieved in the religion you are upon; enmity and dislike has become apparent between us and you until you bring faith in Allah alone and do not ascribe anyone as partner to Him.” So it is necessary for you to proclaim innocence from your disbelieving nation just like they did, except for the statement Abraham (peace be upon him) made to his father: “I will definitely seek forgiveness on your behalf from Allah”: do not follow him in that because it was before Abraham lost hope in his father bringing faith. It is therefore not allowed for a believer to seek forgiveness on behalf of an idolater. Neither can you prevent any punishment of Allah coming upon yourself. O our Lord! Upon You we rely in all our affairs, to You we return in repentance, and to you is our return on the Day of Judgement. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | तुम लोगों के लिए इबराहीम में और उन लोगों में जो उसके साथ थे अच्छा आदर्श है, जबकि उन्होंने अपनी क़ौम के लोगों से कह दिया कि "हम तुमसे और अल्लाह से हटकर जिन्हें तुम पूजते हो उनसे विरक्त है। हमने तुम्हारा इनकार किया और हमारे और तुम्हारे बीच सदैव के लिए वैर और विद्वेष प्रकट हो चुका जब तक अकेले अल्लाह पर तुम ईमान न लाओ।" इूबराहीम का अपने बाप से यह कहना अपवाद है कि "मैं आपके लिए क्षमा की प्रार्थना अवश्य करूँगा, यद्यपि अल्लाह के मुक़ाबले में आपके लिए मैं किसी चीज़ पर अधिकार नहीं रखता।" "ऐ हमारे रब! हमने तुझी पर भरोसा किया और तेरी ही ओर रुजू हुए और तेरी ही ओर अन्त में लौटना हैं। - |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | (मुसलमानों) तुम्हारे वास्ते तो इबराहीम और उनके साथियों (के क़ौल व फेल का अच्छा नमूना मौजूद है) कि जब उन्होने अपनी क़ौम से कहा कि हम तुमसे और उन (बुतों) से जिन्हें तुम ख़ुदा के सिवा पूजते हो बेज़ार हैं हम तो तुम्हारे (दीन के) मुनकिर हैं और जब तक तुम यकता ख़ुदा पर ईमान न लाओ हमारे तुम्हारे दरमियान खुल्लम खुल्ला अदावत व दुशमनी क़ायम हो गयी मगर (हाँ) इबराहीम ने अपने (मुँह बोले) बाप से ये (अलबत्ता) कहा कि मैं आपके लिए मग़फ़िरत की दुआ ज़रूर करूँगा और ख़ुदा के सामने तो मैं आपके वास्ते कुछ एख्तेयार नहीं रखता ऐ हमारे पालने वाले (ख़ुदा) हमने तुझी पर भरोसा कर लिया है और तेरी ही तरफ हम रूजू करते हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तुम्हारे लिए (ऐ मोमिनो!) इबराहीम अलैहिस्सलाम और उन मोमिनों में जो उनके साथ थे, एक अच्छा आदर्श है, जब उन्होंने अपनी काफ़िर जाति से कहा : हम तुमसे तथा उन मूर्तियों से बरी हैं, जिन्हें तुम अल्लाह को छोड़कर पूजते हो। हम उस धर्म को नहीं मानते, जिसपर तुम चल रहे हो, तथा हमारे और तुम्हारे बीच हमेशा के लिए शत्रुता और घृणा प्रकट हो चुकी है, यहाँ तक कि तुम अकेले अल्लाह पर ईमान ले आओ और किसी को उसका साझी न बनाओ। अतः तुम्हें भी चाहिए कि उनकी तरह अपनी काफ़िर जाति से बरी होने का ऐलान कर दो। परंतु इबराहीम अलैहिस्सलाम की इस बात को छोड़कर, जो उन्होंने अपने पिता से कही थी कि : मैं अवश्य अल्लाह से तुम्हारे लिए क्षमा याचना करूँगा। तो तुम इसमें उनका पालन न करो। क्योंकि यह बात उन्होंने अपने पिता से निराश होने से पहले कही थी। अतः किसी मोमिन के लिए जायज़ नहीं है कि वह किसी मुश्रिक के लिए क्षमा माँगे। और मैं तुम्हारा अल्लाह की यातना से कुछ भी बचाव नहीं कर सकता। ऐ हमारे पालनहार! हमने अपने सभी मामलों में केवल तुझी पर भरोसा किया है, और हम तेरी ही ओर तौबा करते हुए लौटे हैं, और तेरी ही ओर क़ियामत के दिन सबको लौटकर आना है। |
| Ayah 5 |
| عَرَبِي | رَبَّنا لا تَجعَلنا فِتنَةً لِلَّذينَ كَفَروا وَاغفِر لَنا رَبَّنا ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ العَزيزُ الحَكيمُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Rabbana la tajAAalna fitnatan lillatheena kafaroo waighfir lana rabbana innaka anta alAAazeezu alhakeemu |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Rabbana laa taj'alnaa fitnatal lillazeena kafaroo waghfir lanaa rabbanaa innaka antal azeezul hakeem |
| English (Pickthall) | Our Lord! Make us not a prey for those who disbelieve, and forgive us, our Lord! Lo! Thou, only Thou, are the Mighty, the Wise. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | "Our Lord! Make us not a (test and) trial for the Unbelievers, but forgive us, our Lord! for Thou art the Exalted in Might, the Wise." |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Our Lord, make us not [objects of] torment for the disbelievers and forgive us, our Lord. Indeed, it is You who is the Exalted in Might, the Wise." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O our Lord! Do not make us a trial for the disbelievers by giving them power over us, so they can say: “If they were on the truth we would not have been given power over them”, and O our Lord forgive our sins for us, because indeed, You are the Almighty who can never be overpowered; the Wise in your creation, legislation and decree. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | "ऐ हमारे रब! हमें इनकार करनेवालों के लिए फ़ितना न बना और ऐ हमारे रब! हमें क्षमा कर दे। निश्चय ही तू प्रभुत्वशाली, तत्वदर्शी है।" |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और तेरी तरफ हमें लौट कर जाना है ऐ हमारे पालने वाले तू हम लोगों को काफ़िरों की आज़माइश (का ज़रिया) न क़रार दे और परवरदिगार तू हमें बख्श दे बेशक तू ग़ालिब (और) हिकमत वाला है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | ऐ हमारे पालनहार, तू हमें काफ़िरों के लिए परीक्षण न बना कि उन्हें हमारे ऊपर हावी कर दे और वे कहने लगें : अगर वे सत्य पर होते, तो हम उनपर हावी न किए जाते। तथा ऐ हमारे पालनहार, हमारे गुनाह माफ कर दे। निश्चय तू ही प्रभुत्वशाली है, जिसपर किसी का ज़ोर नहीं चलता, अपनी रचना, विधान और निर्णय में हिकमत वाला है। |

| عَرَبِي | لَقَد كانَ لَكُم فيهِم أُسوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ لِمَن كانَ يَرجُو اللَّهَ وَاليَومَ الآخِرَ ۚ وَمَن يَتَوَلَّ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الغَنِيُّ الحَميدُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Laqad kana lakum feehim oswatun hasanatun liman kana yarjoo Allaha waalyawma alakhira waman yatawalla fainna Allaha huwa alghanniyyu alhameedu |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Laqad kaana lakum feehim uswatunhasanatul liman kaana yarjul laaha wal yawmal aakhir; wa many yatawalla fa innal laaha huwal ghaniyyul hameed |
| English (Pickthall) | Verily ye have in them a goodly pattern for everyone who looketh to Allah and the Last Day. And whosoever may turn away, lo! still Allah, He is the Absolute, the Owner of Praise. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | There was indeed in them an excellent example for you to follow,- for those whose hope is in Allah and in the Last Day. But if any turn away, truly Allah is Free of all Wants, Worthy of all Praise. |

Those who turn away from this good example, then Allah is in no need of His servants. He does not require their obedience and He is worthy of praise in every state. |

| हिन्दी (Suhail) | (मुसलमानों) उन लोगों के (अफ़आल) का तुम्हारे वास्ते जो ख़ुदा और रोज़े आख़ेरत की उम्मीद रखता हो अच्छा नमूना है और जो (इससे) मुँह मोड़े तो ख़ुदा भी यक़ीनन बेपरवा (और) सज़ावारे हम्द है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | इस उत्तम आदर्श का पालन वही करेगा, जो दुनिया और आख़िरत में अल्लाह से भलाई की आशा रखता है। और जो इस उत्तम आदर्श से मुँह फेरेगा, तो अल्लाह अपने बंदों से बेनियाज़ है, उसे उनके आज्ञापालन की आवश्यकता नहीं है। तथा वह हर हाल में प्रशंसनीय है। |

| عَرَبِي | ۞ عَسَى اللَّهُ أَن يَجعَلَ بَينَكُم وَبَينَ الَّذينَ عادَيتُم مِنهُم مَوَدَّةً ۚ وَاللَّهُ قَديرٌ ۚ وَاللَّهُ غَفورٌ رَحيمٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | AAasa Allahu an yajAAala baynakum wabayna allatheena AAadaytum minhum mawaddatan waAllahu qadeerun waAllahu ghafoorun raheemun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Asal laahu any yaj'ala bainakum wa bainal lazeena 'aadaitum minhum mawaddah; wallahu qadeer; wallahu ghafoorur raheem |
| English (Pickthall) | It may be that Allah will ordain love between you and those of them with whom ye are at enmity. Allah is Mighty, and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | It may be that Allah will grant love (and friendship) between you and those whom ye (now) hold as enemies. For Allah has power (over all things); And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | आशा है कि अल्लाह (ऐ मोमिनो) तुम्हारे बीच और उन काफ़िरों के बीच, जिनसे तुम बैर रखते हो, प्रेम उत्पन्न कर दे, इस प्रकार वह उन्हें इस्लाम का मार्गदर्शन प्रदान कर दे। फिर वे तुम्हारे इस्लामी भाई बन जाएँ। और अल्लाह बड़ा सामर्थ्यवान् है। वह इस बात का सामर्थ्य रखता है कि उनके दिलों को ईमान की ओर फेर दे। तथा अल्लाह अपने तौबा करने वाले बंदों को क्षमा करने वाला, उनपर दया करने वाला है। |

| عَرَبِي | لا يَنهاكُمُ اللَّهُ عَنِ الَّذينَ لَم يُقاتِلوكُم فِي الدّينِ وَلَم يُخرِجوكُم مِن دِيارِكُم أَن تَبَرّوهُم وَتُقسِطوا إِلَيهِم ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ المُقسِطينَ |

| English (Pickthall) | Allah forbiddeth you not those who warred not against you on account of religion and drove you not out from your homes, that ye should show them kindness and deal justly with them. Lo! Allah loveth the just dealers. |

| English (Abridged Expl.) | Allah does not prohibit you from those who have not fought you on account of your Islam, and who have not expelled you from your homes, that you be good and fair to them by giving them any right they have against you. An example of this is how Asma bint Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq behaved with her disbelieving mother when she came to visit her after she had taken permission from the Prophet (peace be upon him) for this and he instructed her to join family ties. Allah loves those who are just to themselves, their families and what they are in charge of. |

| عَرَبِي | إِنَّما يَنهاكُمُ اللَّهُ عَنِ الَّذينَ قاتَلوكُم فِي الدّينِ وَأَخرَجوكُم مِن دِيارِكُم وَظاهَروا عَلىٰ إِخراجِكُم أَن تَوَلَّوهُم ۚ وَمَن يَتَوَلَّهُم فَأُولٰئِكَ هُمُ الظّالِمونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Innama yanhakumu Allahu AAani allatheena qatalookum fee alddeeni waakhrajookum min diyarikum wathaharoo AAala ikhrajikum an tawallawhum waman yatawallahum faolaika humu alththalimoona |

| English (Pickthall) | Allah forbiddeth you only those who warred against you on account of religion and have driven you out from your homes and helped to drive you out, that ye make friends of them. Whosoever maketh friends of them - (All) such are wrong-doers. |

He prohibits you from aligning yourselves with them. | हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अल्लाह केवल तुम्हें उन लोगों से मना करता है, जिन्होंने तुमसे तुम्हारे ईमान के कारण युद्ध किया, तुम्हें तुम्हारे घरों से निकाल दिया और तुम्हें बाहर निकालने में सहयोग किया; वह तुम्हें उनसे दोस्ती रखने से रोकता है। और तुममें से जो व्यक्ति उनसे दोस्ती करेगा, तो वही लोग अल्लाह के आदेश के उल्लंघन के कारण स्वयं को विनाश में डालकर अपने आप पर अत्याचार करने वाले हैं। |
| Ayah 10 |
| عَرَبِي | يا أَيُّهَا الَّذينَ آمَنوا إِذا جاءَكُمُ المُؤمِناتُ مُهاجِراتٍ فَامتَحِنوهُنَّ ۖ اللَّهُ أَعلَمُ بِإيمانِهِنَّ ۖ فَإِن عَلِمتُموهُنَّ مُؤمِناتٍ فَلا تَرجِعوهُنَّ إِلَى الكُفّارِ ۖ لا هُنَّ حِلٌّ لَهُم وَلا هُم يَحِلّونَ لَهُنَّ ۖ وَآتوهُم ما أَنفَقوا ۚ وَلا جُناحَ عَلَيكُم أَن تَنكِحوهُنَّ إِذا آتَيتُموهُنَّ أُجورَهُنَّ ۚ وَلا تُمسِكوا بِعِصَمِ الكَوافِرِ وَاسأَلوا ما أَنفَقتُم وَليَسأَلوا ما أَنفَقوا ۚ ذٰلِكُم حُكمُ اللَّهِ ۖ يَحكُمُ بَينَكُم ۚ وَاللَّهُ عَليمٌ حَكيمٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo itha jaakumu almuminatu muhajiratin faimtahinoohunna Allahu aAAlamu bieemanihinna fain AAalimtumoohunna muminatin fala tarjiAAoohunna ila alkuffari la hunna hillun lahum wala hum yahilloona lahunna waatoohum ma anfaqoo wala junaha AAalaykum an tankihoohunna itha ataytumoohunna ojoorahunna wala tumsikoo biAAisami alkawafiri waisaloo ma anfaqtum walyasaloo ma anfaqoo thalikum hukmu Allahi yahkumu baynakum waAllahu AAaleemun hakeemun |

| English (Pickthall) | O ye who believe! When believing women come unto you as fugitives, examine them. Allah is Best Aware of their faith. Then, if ye know them for true believers, send them not back unto the disbelievers. They are not lawful for them (the disbelievers), nor are they (the disbelievers) lawful for them. And give them (the disbelievers) that which they have spent (upon them). And it is no sin for you to marry such women when ye have given them their dues. And hold not to the ties of disbelieving women; and ask for (the return of) that which ye have spent; and let them (the disbelievers) ask for that which they have spent. That is the judgment of Allah. He judgeth between you. Allah is Knower, Wise. |

When there come to you believing women refugees, examine (and test) them: Allah knows best as to their Faith: if ye ascertain that they are Believers, then send them not back to the Unbelievers. They are not lawful (wives) for the Unbelievers, nor are the (Unbelievers) lawful (husbands) for them. But pay the Unbelievers what they have spent (on their dower), and there will be no blame on you if ye marry them on payment of their dower to them. But hold not to the guardianship of unbelieving women: ask for what ye have spent on their dowers, and let the (Unbelievers) ask for what they have spent (on the dowers of women who come over to you). Such is the command of Allah: He judges (with justice) between you. And Allah is Full of Knowledge and Wisdom. |

And if you know them to be believers, then do not return them to the disbelievers; they are not lawful [wives] for them, nor are they lawful [husbands] for them. But give the disbelievers what they have spent. And there is no blame upon you if you marry them when you have given them their due compensation. And hold not to marriage bonds with disbelieving women, but ask for what you have spent and let them ask for what they have spent. That is the judgement of Allah; He judges between you. And Allah is Knowing and Wise. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O you who have faith in Allah, and who act on what He has ordained for you, when believing women come to you as emigrants from the land of disbelief to the land of Islam, then test them with respect to the sincerity of their faith. Allah knows best about their faith - nothing of what their hearts contain is hidden from Him. If you are sure of their being believers after such a test that makes their sincerity apparent to you, then do not send them back to their disbelieving husbands. It is not lawful for believing women to be married to disbelievers and it is not lawful for disbelievers to marry believing women. Give their husbands the dowry that they paid. There is no sin on you, O believers, if you marry them after their waiting period is over if you give them their dowry. The person whose wife is a disbeliever or who turned away from Islam, then he should not retain her, because their marriage has terminated by her disbelief. Ask the disbelievers for the dowry you paid to your renegade wives and let them ask for the dowry of their wives who accepted Islam. That - which has been mentioned about your and their returning the dowry - is Allah’s judgment. He (may He be glorified) passes judgment amongst you as He wills. Allah knows the states and actions of His servants. Nothing of that is hidden from Him. He is Wise in what He ordains for His servants. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | ऐ ईमान लानेवालो! जब तुम्हारे पास ईमान की दावेदार स्त्रियाँ हिजरत करके आएँ तो तुम उन्हें जाँच लिया करो। यूँ तो अल्लाह उनके ईमान से भली-भाँति परिचित है। फिर यदि वे तुम्हें ईमानवाली मालूम हो, तो उन्हें इनकार करनेवालों (अधर्मियों) की ओर न लौटाओ। न तो वे स्त्रियाँ उनके लिए वैद्य है और न वे उन स्त्रियों के लिए वैद्य है। और जो कुछ उन्होंने ख़र्च किया हो तुम उन्हें दे दो और इसमें तुम्हारे लिए कोई गुनाह नहीं कि तुम उनसे विवाह कर लो, जबकि तुम उन्हें महर अदा कर दो। और तुम स्वयं भी इनकार करनेवाली स्त्रियों के सतीत्व को अपने अधिकार में न रखो। और जो कुछ तुमने ख़र्च किया हो माँग लो। और उन्हें भी चाहिए कि जो कुछ उन्होंने ख़र्च किया हो माँग ले। यह अल्लाह का आदेश है। वह तुम्हारे बीच फ़ैसला करता है। अल्लाह सर्वज्ञ, तत्वदर्शी है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | ऐ ईमानदारों जब तुम्हारे पास ईमानदार औरतें वतन छोड़ कर आएँ तो तुम उनको आज़मा लो, ख़ुदा तो उनके ईमान से वाकिफ़ है ही, पस अगर तुम भी उनको ईमानदार समझो तो उन्ही काफ़िरों के पास वापस न फेरो न ये औरतें उनके लिए हलाल हैं और न वह कुफ्फ़ार उन औरतों के लिए हलाल हैं और उन कुफ्फार ने जो कुछ (उन औरतों के मेहर में) ख़र्च किया हो उनको दे दो, और जब उनका महर उन्हें दे दिया करो तो इसका तुम पर कुछ गुनाह नहीं कि तुम उससे निकाह कर लो और काफिर औरतों की आबरू (जो तुम्हारी बीवियाँ हों) अपने कब्ज़े में न रखो (छोड़ दो कि कुफ्फ़ार से जा मिलें) और तुमने जो कुछ (उन पर) ख़र्च किया हो (कुफ्फ़ार से) लो, और उन्होने भी जो कुछ ख़र्च किया हो तुम से माँग लें यही ख़ुदा का हुक्म है जो तुम्हारे दरमियान सादिर करता है और ख़ुदा वाक़िफ़कार हकीम है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | ऐ अल्लाह पर ईमान रखने वालो और उसकी शरीयत पर अमल करने वालो! जब तुम्हारे पास मोमिन स्त्रियाँ कुफ़्र की धरती से इस्लाम की धरती की ओर हिजरत करके आ जाएँ, तो उन्हें जाँच लिया करो कि उनका ईमान सच्चा है या नहीं। अल्लाह उनके ईमान को अधिक जानता है। उनके दिलों में जो कुछ भी है उससे छिपा नहीं है। अगर परीक्षण के बाद उनकी सच्चाई ज़ाहिर हो जाए और तुम जान लो कि वे मोमिन हैं, तो उन्हें उनके काफ़िर पतियों की ओर न लौटाओ। मोमिन स्त्रियों के लिए वैध नहीं है कि काफ़िरों से निकाह करें तथा काफ़िरों के लिए वैध नहीं है कि मोमिन स्त्रियों से निकाह करें। तथा उनके (काफ़िर) पतियों को वह महर दे दो, जो उन्होंने अपनी स्त्रियों पर खर्च किया था। और (ऐ ईमान वालो!) तुमपर कोई गुनाह नहीं है कि उनकी इद्दत गुज़र जाने के बाद उनसे निकाह कर लो, जब तुम उन्हें उनका महर दे दो। और जिसकी पत्नी काफ़िर हो या इस्लाम से फिर गई हो, तो वह उसे अपने पास न रखे। क्योंकि उसके कुफ़्र के कारण उन दोनों का निकाह बाधित हो गया। और काफ़िरों से अपनी इस्लाम से फिर जाने वाली पत्नियों पर खर्च किया हुआ महर माँग लो, तथा वे भी अपनी इस्लाम ग्रहण करने वाली स्त्रियों पर खर्च किया हुआ महर माँग लें। यह (तुम्हारी तथा उनकी ओर से महर की वापसी) अल्लाह का निर्णय है। वह तुम्हारे बीच जो चाहता है, निर्णय करता है। और अल्लाह अपने बंदों की स्थितियों और उनके कार्यों से खूब अवगत है। उनमें से कोई भी चीज़ उससे छिपी नहीं है। वह अपने बंदों के लिए जो नियम बनाता है, उसमें हिकमत वाला है। |
| Ayah 11 |
| عَرَبِي | وَإِن فاتَكُم شَيءٌ مِن أَزواجِكُم إِلَى الكُفّارِ فَعاقَبتُم فَآتُوا الَّذينَ ذَهَبَت أَزواجُهُم مِثلَ ما أَنفَقوا ۚ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ الَّذي أَنتُم بِهِ مُؤمِنونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wain fatakum shayon min azwajikum ila alkuffari faAAaqabtum faatoo allatheena thahabat azwajuhum mithla ma anfaqoo waittaqoo Allaha allathee antum bihi muminoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa in faatakum shai'um min azwaajikum ilal kuffaari fa'aaqabtum fa aatul lazeena zahabat azwaajuhum misla maaa anfaqoo; wattaqul laahal lazeee antum bihee mu'minoon |
| English (Pickthall) | And if any of your wives have gone from you unto the disbelievers and afterward ye have your turn (of triumph), then give unto those whose wives have gone the like of that which they have spent, and keep your duty to Allah in Whom ye are believers. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And if any of your wives deserts you to the Unbelievers, and ye have an accession (by the coming over of a woman from the other side), then pay to those whose wives have deserted the equivalent of what they had spent (on their dower). And fear Allah, in Whom ye believe. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And if you have lost any of your wives to the disbelievers and you subsequently obtain [something], then give those whose wives have gone the equivalent of what they had spent. And fear Allah, in whom you are believers. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | If it happens that some of your women leave you for the disbelievers as renegades and you demand your dowry from the disbelievers but they do not give it to you, and thereafter you acquire booty from the disbelievers, then give those husbands whose wives left as renegades the equivalent of the dowry they paid. Be mindful of Allah, in Whom you have faith, by fulfilling His instructions and avoiding His prohibitions. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और यदि तुम्हारी पत्नि यो (के मह्रों) में से कुछ तुम्हारे हाथ से निकल जाए और इनकार करनेवालों (अधर्मियों) की ओर रह जाए, फिर तुम्हारी नौबत आए, जो जिन लोगों की पत्नियों चली गई है, उन्हें जितना उन्होंने ख़र्च किया हो दे दो। और अल्लाह का डर रखो, जिसपर तुम ईमान रखते हो |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और अगर तुम्हारी बीवियों में से कोई औरत तुम्हारे हाथ से निकल कर काफिरों के पास चली जाए और (ख़र्च न मिले) और तुम (उन काफ़िरों से लड़ो और लूटो तो (माले ग़नीमत से) जिनकी औरतें चली गयीं हैं उनको इतना दे दो जितना उनका ख़र्च हुआ है) और जिस ख़ुदा पर तुम लोग ईमान लाए हो उससे डरते रहो |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और अगर ऐसा हो कि तुम्हारी कुछ स्त्रियाँ इस्लाम को त्यागकर काफ़िरों की ओर चली जाएँ, और तुम काफ़िरों से उनका महर माँगो और वे उसे न दें। फिर तुम्हें काफ़िरों से ग़नीमत का धन प्राप्त हो, तो इस्लाम को त्यागकर जाने वाली स्त्रियों के पतियों को उनके खर्च किए हुए महर के बराबर धन दे दो। और अल्लाह से, उसके आदेशों का पालन करके और उसकी मना की हुई चीज़ों से बचकर, डरते रहो, जिसपर तुम ईमान रखते हो। |

| عَرَبِي | يا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ إِذا جاءَكَ المُؤمِناتُ يُبايِعنَكَ عَلىٰ أَن لا يُشرِكنَ بِاللَّهِ شَيئًا وَلا يَسرِقنَ وَلا يَزنينَ وَلا يَقتُلنَ أَولادَهُنَّ وَلا يَأتينَ بِبُهتانٍ يَفتَرينَهُ بَينَ أَيديهِنَّ وَأَرجُلِهِنَّ وَلا يَعصينَكَ في مَعروفٍ ۙ فَبايِعهُنَّ وَاستَغفِر لَهُنَّ اللَّهَ ۖ إِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفورٌ رَحيمٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Ya ayyuha alnnabiyyu itha jaaka almuminatu yubayiAAnaka AAala an la yushrikna biAllahi shayan wala yasriqna wala yazneena wala yaqtulna awladahunna wala yateena bibuhtanin yaftareenahu bayna aydeehinna waarjulihinna wala yaAAseenaka fee maAAroofin fabayiAAhunna waistaghfir lahunna Allaha inna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun |

| English (Pickthall) | O Prophet! If believing women come unto thee, taking oath of allegiance unto thee that they will ascribe no thing as partner unto Allah, and will neither steal nor commit adultery nor kill their children, nor produce any lie that they have devised between their hands and feet, nor disobey thee in what is right, then accept their allegiance and ask Allah to forgive them. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | O Prophet! When believing women come to thee to take the oath of fealty to thee, that they will not associate in worship any other thing whatever with Allah, that they will not steal, that they will not commit adultery (or fornication), that they will not kill their children, that they will not utter slander, intentionally forging falsehood, and that they will not disobey thee in any just matter,- then do thou receive their fealty, and pray to Allah for the forgiveness (of their sins): for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | O Prophet, when the believing women come to you pledging to you that they will not associate anything with Allah, nor will they steal, nor will they commit unlawful sexual intercourse, nor will they kill their children, nor will they bring forth a slander they have invented between their arms and legs, nor will they disobey you in what is right - then accept their pledge and ask forgiveness for them of Allah. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O prophet, when believing women come to pledge allegiance to you - as occurred at the time of the conquest of Makkah - that they will not associate anything as partner to Allah, but they will worship Him alone, nor steal, nor commit adultery, nor kill their children in accordance with the custom of the people of ignorance, nor attribute to their husbands their children from adultery, no go against you in any righteous thing such as His prohibition from wailing, shaving off hair and tearing garments: - then accept their pledge of allegiance, and seek forgiveness for them from Allah for their sins after they pledge allegiance to you. Allah Forgiving to those servants of His who repent to him and He is merciful to them. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | ऐ नबी! जब तुम्हारे पास ईमानवाली स्त्रियाँ आकर तुमसे इसपर 'बैअत' करे कि वे अल्लाह के साथ किसी चीज़ को साझी नहीं ठहराएँगी और न चोरी करेंगी और न व्यभिचार करेंगी, और न अपनी औलाद की हत्या करेंगी और न अपने हाथों और पैरों को बीच कोई आरोप घड़कर लाएँगी. और न किसी भले काम में तुम्हारी अवज्ञा करेंगी, तो उनसे 'बैअत' ले लो और उनके लिए अल्लाह से क्षमा की प्रार्थना करो। निश्चय ही अत्यन्त बहुत क्षमाशील, अत्यन्त दयावान है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | (ऐ रसूल) जब तुम्हारे पास ईमानदार औरतें तुमसे इस बात पर बैयत करने आएँ कि वह न किसी को ख़ुदा का शरीक बनाएँगी और न चोरी करेंगी और न जेना करेंगी और न अपनी औलाद को मार डालेंगी और न अपने हाथ पाँव के सामने कोई बोहतान (लड़के का शौहर पर) गढ़ के लाएँगी, और न किसी नेक काम में तुम्हारी नाफ़रमानी करेंगी तो तुम उनसे बैयत ले लो और ख़ुदा से उनके मग़फ़िरत की दुआ माँगो बेशक बड़ा ख़ुदा बख्शने वाला मेहरबान है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | ऐ नबी! जब आपके पास मोमिन स्त्रियाँ इस बात पर बैअत (प्रण) करने के लिए आएँ (जैसे मक्का पर विजय के अवसर पर हुआ था) कि किसी को अल्लाह का साझी नहीं ठहराएँगी, बल्कि केवल उसी की इबादत करेंगी, चोरी नहीं करेंगी, व्यभिचार नहीं करेंगी, जाहिलिय्यत के लोगों की तरह अपनी औलाद की हत्या नहीं करेंगी, व्यभिचार के नतीजे में पैदा होने वाले बच्चे का संबंध अपने पतियों से नहीं जोड़ेंगी, तथा किसी अच्छे कार्य (जैसे मृतक पर रोने-पीटने, बाल मुँडाने और गरीबान फाड़ने से मनाही) में आपकी अवज्ञा नहीं करेंगी : तो आप उनसे बैअत ले लें और उनके आपसे बैअत करने के बाद उनके गुनाहों के लिए अल्लाह से क्षमा माँगें। निश्चय अल्लाह अपने तौबा (क्षमा याचना) करने वाले बंदों को क्षमा करने वाला, उनपर दया करने वाला है। |

| عَرَبِي | يا أَيُّهَا الَّذينَ آمَنوا لا تَتَوَلَّوا قَومًا غَضِبَ اللَّهُ عَلَيهِم قَد يَئِسوا مِنَ الآخِرَةِ كَما يَئِسَ الكُفّارُ مِن أَصحابِ القُبورِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tatawallaw qawman ghadiba Allahu AAalayhim qad yaisoo mina alakhirati kama yaisa alkuffaru min ashabi alquboori |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Yaaa ayyuhal lazeena amanoo laa tatawallaw qawman ghadibal laahu 'alaihim qad ya'isoo minal aakhirati kamaa ya'isal kuffaaru min as haabil quboor |
| English (Pickthall) | O ye who believe! Be not friendly with a folk with whom Allah is wroth, (a folk) who have despaired of the Hereafter as the disbelievers despair of those who are in the graves. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | O ye who believe! Turn not (for friendship) to people on whom is the Wrath of Allah, of the Hereafter they are already in despair, just as the Unbelievers are in despair about those (buried) in graves. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | O you who have believed, do not make allies of a people with whom Allah has become angry. They have despaired of [reward in] the Hereafter just as the disbelievers have despaired of [meeting] the inhabitants of the graves. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Since the Sūrah commenced with a warning against becoming allies with Allah’s enemies, it ends with a warning against the same to reiterate what was said previously. Allah said: O you who have faith in Allah, and who act on what He has ordained for you, do not take as allies a people with whom Allah is angry. They do not have conviction in the afterlife. Instead they despair of it just like their despair of the return of their dead to them, because they reject resurrection. |

| हिन्दी (Suhail) | ऐ ईमानदारों जिन लोगों पर ख़ुदा ने अपना ग़ज़ब ढाया उनसे दोस्ती न करो (क्योंकि) जिस तरह काफ़िरों को मुर्दों (के दोबारा ज़िन्दा होने) की उम्मीद नहीं उसी तरह आख़ेरत से भी ये लोग न उम्मीद हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | ऐ अल्लाह पर ईमान रखने वालो और उसकी शरीयत पर अमल करने वालो! ऐसे लोगों से मित्रता न रखो, जिनपर अल्लाह क्रोधित हुआ है, जो क़ियामत के दिन पर विश्वास नहीं रखते, बल्कि वे उससे उसी तरह निराश हैं, जैसे मरणोपरांत पुनर्जीवन के इनकार के कारण अपने मरे हुए लोगों के लौटने से निराश हैं। |
