| عَرَبِي | إِنّا جَعَلناهُ قُرآنًا عَرَبِيًّا لَعَلَّكُم تَعقِلونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Inna jaAAalnahu quranan AAarabiyyan laAAallakum taAAqiloona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Innaa ja'alnaahu Quraanan 'Arabiyyal la'allakum ta'qiloon |
| English (Pickthall) | Lo! We have appointed it a Lecture, in Arabic that haply ye may understand. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | We have made it a Qur'an in Arabic, that ye may be able to understand (and learn wisdom). |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Indeed, We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that you might understand. |

| عَرَبِي | وَإِنَّهُ في أُمِّ الكِتابِ لَدَينا لَعَلِيٌّ حَكيمٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wainnahu fee ommi alkitabi ladayna laAAaliyyun hakeemun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa innahoo feee Ummil Kitaabi Ladainaa la'aliyyun hakeem |
| English (Pickthall) | And Lo! in the Source of Decrees, which We possess, it is indeed sublime, decisive. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And verily, it is in the Mother of the Book, in Our Presence, high (in dignity), full of wisdom. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And indeed it is, in the Mother of the Book with Us, exalted and full of wisdom. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | This Qur’ān is in the Preserved Tablet with us in the highest gathering and is high in status, honour and position. It is wise in that the instructions contained in it are not devoid of wisdom, and it is perfect without any contradiction or disagreement. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और निश्चय ही वह मूल किताब में अंकित है, हमारे यहाँ बहुच उच्च कोटि की, तत्वदर्शिता से परिपूर्ण है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और बेशक ये (क़ुरान) असली किताब (लौह महफूज़) में (भी जो) मेरे पास है लिखी हुई है (और) यक़ीनन बड़े रूतबे की (और) पुरअज़ हिकमत है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | निःसंदेह यह क़ुरआन लौह़े मह़फ़ूज़ में बड़े ऊँचे स्थान वाला और हिकमत वाला है। उसकी आयतों को उसके आदेशों और निषेधों में सुदृढ़ बनाया गया है। |

| عَرَبِي | أَفَنَضرِبُ عَنكُمُ الذِّكرَ صَفحًا أَن كُنتُم قَومًا مُسرِفينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Afanadribu AAankumu alththikra safhan an kuntum qawman musrifeena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Afanadribu 'ankumuz Zikra safhan an kuntum qawmam musrifeen |
| English (Pickthall) | Shall We utterly ignore you because ye are a wanton folk? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Shall We then take away the Message from you and repel (you), for that ye are a people transgressing beyond bounds? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Then should We turn the message away, disregarding you, because you are a transgressing people? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | I will not leave out the revelation of the Qur’ān to you and calling you to monotheism because you are engrossed in ascribing partners to Allah and violating His prohibitions. I will not do so, as mercy for you demands otherwise. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | क्या इसलिए कि तुम मर्यादाहीन लोग हो, हम तुमपर से बिलकुल ही नज़र फेर लेंगे? |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | भला इस वजह से कि तुम ज्यादती करने वाले लोग हो हम तुमको नसीहत करने से मुँह मोड़ेंगे (हरगिज़ नहीं) |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | क्या हम तुम्हारे ऊपर क़ुरआन उतारना, इस कारण से छोड़ दें कि तुम बहुत ज़्यादा शिर्क और पाप करते हो? हम ऐसा नहीं करेंगे। बल्कि तुम्हारे प्रति दया इसके विपरीत की अपेक्षा करती है। |

| عَرَبِي | وَكَم أَرسَلنا مِن نَبِيٍّ فِي الأَوَّلينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wakam arsalna min nabiyyin fee alawwaleena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa kam arsalnaa min Nabiyyin fil awwaleen |
| English (Pickthall) | How many a prophet did We send among the men of old! |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | But how many were the prophets We sent amongst the peoples of old? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And how many a prophet We sent among the former peoples, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | How many a messenger did I send in previous nations. |

| Ayah 7 |
| عَرَبِي | وَما يَأتيهِم مِن نَبِيٍّ إِلّا كانوا بِهِ يَستَهزِئونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wama yateehim min nabiyyin illa kanoo bihi yastahzioona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa maa yaateehim min Nabiyyin illaa kaanoo bihee yasahzi'oon |
| English (Pickthall) | And never came there unto them a prophet but they used to mock him. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And never came there a prophet to them but they mocked him. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | But there would not come to them a prophet except that they used to ridicule him. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Whenever a prophet came to those previous nations from Allah they used to mock at him. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तथा उन पिछले समुदायों के पास अल्लाह की ओर से जब भी कोई नबी आता, तो वे उसका मज़ाक़ उड़ाया करते थे। |
| Ayah 8 |
| عَرَبِي | فَأَهلَكنا أَشَدَّ مِنهُم بَطشًا وَمَضىٰ مَثَلُ الأَوَّلينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faahlakna ashadda minhum batshan wamada mathalu alawwaleena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fa ahlaknaaa ashadda minhum batshanw wa madaa masalul lawwaleen |
| English (Pickthall) | Then We destroyed men mightier than these in prowess; and the example of the men of old hath gone (before them). |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | So We destroyed (them)- stronger in power than these;- and (thus) has passed on the Parable of the peoples of old. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And We destroyed greater than them in [striking] power, and the example of the former peoples has preceded. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | I destroyed those who were mightier than those nations, so we not incapable of destroying those who are weaker than them. The description of the destruction of the previous nations has passed in the Qur’ān, such as the Ad, Thamud, nation of Lot and the people of Madyan. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अन्ततः हमने उनको पकड़ में लेकर विनष्ट कर दिया जो उनसे कहीं अधिक बलशाली थे। और पहले के लोगों की मिसाल गुज़र-चुकी है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो उनमें से जो ज्यादा ज़ोरावर थे तो उनको हमने हलाक कर मारा और (दुनिया में) अगलों के अफ़साने जारी हो गए |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अंततः हमने उन समुदायों को विनष्ट कर दिया, जो अधिक बलवान थे। इसलिए हम उनसे कमज़ोर लोगों को विनष्ट करने से विवश नहीं हो सकते। और क़ुरआन में पिछले समुदायों, जैसे आद, समूद, लूत अलैहिस्सलाम की जाति और मद्यन वालों के विनाश का हाल गुज़र चुका है। |
| Ayah 9 |
| عَرَبِي | وَلَئِن سَأَلتَهُم مَن خَلَقَ السَّماواتِ وَالأَرضَ لَيَقولُنَّ خَلَقَهُنَّ العَزيزُ العَليمُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Walain saaltahum man khalaqa alssamawati waalarda layaqoolunna khalaqahunna alAAazeezu alAAaleemu |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa la'in sa altahum man khalaqas samaawaati wal arda la yaqoolunna khalaqa hunnal 'Azeezul 'Aleem |
| English (Pickthall) | And if thou (Muhammad) ask them: Who created the heavens and the earth, they will surely answer: The Mighty, the Knower created them; |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | If thou wert to question them, 'Who created the heavens and the earth?' They would be sure to reply, 'they were created by (Him), the Exalted in Power, Full of Knowledge';- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And if you should ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" they would surely say, "They were created by the Exalted in Might, the Knowing." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O Messenger! If you ask these idolaters who deny, “Who created the heavens and who created the earth?” they will say in response to your question, The Mighty whom none can overpower, the Knower of everything, created them. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | यदि तुम उनसे पूछो कि "आकाशों और धरती को किसने पैदा किया?" तो वे अवश्य कहेंगे, "उन्हें अत्यन्त प्रभुत्वशाली, सर्वज्ञ सत्ता ने पैदा किया।" |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और (ऐ रसूल) अगर तुम उनसे पूछो कि सारे आसमान व ज़मीन को किसने पैदा किया तो वह ज़रूर कह देंगे कि उनको बड़े वाक़िफ़कार ज़बरदस्त (ख़ुदा ने) पैदा किया है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | (ऐ रसूल!) अगर आप इन झुठलाने वाले मुश्रिकों से पूछें कि आकाशों को किसने पैदा किया और धरती को किसने पैदा किया? तो वे आपके सवाल का जवाब देते हुए अवश्य कहेंगे : उन्हें उस प्रभुत्वशाली अल्लाह ने पैदा किया है, जिसपर किसी का ज़ोर नहीं चलता, जो हर चीज़ को जानने वाला है। |
| Ayah 10 |
| عَرَبِي | الَّذي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الأَرضَ مَهدًا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم فيها سُبُلًا لَعَلَّكُم تَهتَدونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Allathee jaAAala lakumu alarda mahdan wajaAAala lakum feeha subulan laAAallakum tahtadoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Allazee ja'ala lakumul arda mahdanw wa ja'ala lakum feehaa subulal la'allakum tahtadoon |
| English (Pickthall) | Who made the earth a resting-place for you, and placed roads for you therein, that haply ye may find your way; |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | (Yea, the same that) has made for you the earth (like a carpet) spread out, and has made for you roads (and channels) therein, in order that ye may find guidance (on the way); |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | [The one] who has made for you the earth a bed and made for you upon it roads that you might be guided |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Allah is the One who made the earth for you stable and firm. He made for you in it paths in its mountains and valleys, in the hope that you will be guided by them in your travel. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | जिसने तुम्हारे लिए धरती को गहवारा बनाया औऱ उसमें तुम्हारे लिए मार्ग बना दिए. ताकि तुम्हें मार्गदर्शन प्राप्त हो |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | जिसने तुम लोगों के वास्ते ज़मीन का बिछौना बनाया और (फिर) उसमें तुम्हारे नफ़े के लिए रास्ते बनाए ताकि तुम राह मालूम करो |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | वही अल्लाह जिसने तुम्हारे लिए पृथ्वी को समतल बनाया। चुनाँचे उसे तुम्हारे लिए हमवार कर दिया जिसपर तुम अपने पैरों से चलते हो, तथा उसके पहाड़ों और घाटियों में तुम्हारे लिए रास्ते बना दिए, ताकि तुम अपने चलने में उनसे मार्गदर्शन प्राप्त कर सको। |
| Ayah 11 |
| عَرَبِي | وَالَّذي نَزَّلَ مِنَ السَّماءِ ماءً بِقَدَرٍ فَأَنشَرنا بِهِ بَلدَةً مَيتًا ۚ كَذٰلِكَ تُخرَجونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waallathee nazzala mina alssamai maan biqadarin faansharna bihi baldatan maytan kathalika tukhrajoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wallazee nazzala minas samaaa'i maaa'am biqadarin fa anshamaa bihee baldatam maitaa' kazaalika tukhrajoon |
| English (Pickthall) | And Who sendeth down water from the sky in (due) measure, and We revive a dead land therewith. Even so will ye be brought forth; |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | That sends down (from time to time) rain from the sky in due measure;- and We raise to life therewith a land that is dead; even so will ye be raised (from the dead);- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And who sends down rain from the sky in measured amounts, and We revive thereby a dead land - thus will you be brought forth - |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | The one who sends down water from the heavens in proportion to what suffices you, your animals and crops, then revives with it a barren land in which there is no growth. Just as Allah revives that barren land with growth, He will revive you for the resurrection. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और जिसने आकाश से एक अन्दाज़े से पानी उतारा। और हमने उसके द्वारा मृत भूमि को जीवित कर दिया। इसी तरह तुम भी (जीवित करके) निकाले जाओगे |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और जिसने एक (मुनासिब) अन्दाजे क़े साथ आसमान से पानी बरसाया फिर हम ही ने उसके (ज़रिए) से मुर्दा (परती) शहर को ज़िन्दा (आबाद) किया उसी तरह तुम भी (क़यामत के दिन क़ब्रों से) निकाले जाओगे |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और वह जिसने आकाश से इतना पानी उतारा, जो तुम्हारे लिए पर्याप्त है और तुम्हारे पशुधन और फसलों के लिए पर्याप्त है। फिर हमने उससे एक बंजर भूमि को जीवित कर दिया, जो पेड़-पौधों से खाली थी। और जैसे अल्लाह ने उस बंजर भूमि को पौधों के द्वारा जीवित किया है, वैसे ही वह तुम्हें क़ियामत (महा-प्रलय) के लिए पुनर्जीवित करेगा। |
| Ayah 12 |
| عَرَبِي | وَالَّذي خَلَقَ الأَزواجَ كُلَّها وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِنَ الفُلكِ وَالأَنعامِ ما تَركَبونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waallathee khalaqa alazwaja kullaha wajaAAala lakum mina alfulki waalanAAami ma tarkaboona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wallazee khalaqal azwaaja kullahaa wa ja'ala lakum minal fulki wal-an'aami maa tarkaboon |
| English (Pickthall) | He Who created all the pairs, and appointed for you ships and cattle whereupon ye ride. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | That has created pairs in all things, and has made for you ships and cattle on which ye ride, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And who created the species, all of them, and has made for you of ships and animals those which you mount. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And He has made ships and livestock for you which you ride on your travels; boarding the ships over the sea and mounting the livestock over land. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और जिसने विभिन्न प्रकार की चीज़े पैदा कीं, और तुम्हारे लिए वे नौकाएँ और जानवर बनाए जिनपर तुम सवार होते हो |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और जिसने हर किस्म की चीज़े पैदा कीं और तुम्हारे लिए कश्तियां बनायीं और चारपाए (पैदा किए) जिन पर तुम सवार होते हो |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और वह जिसने रात और दिन, नर और मादा, और अन्य सभी प्रकार की चीजें पैदा कीं तथा तुम्हारे लिए नाव एवं जानवर बनाए, जिनकी तुम अपनी यात्राओं में सवारी करते हो। चुनाँचे तुम जल में नावों पर सवार होते हो और थल में अपने जानवरों पर सवार होते हो। |
| Ayah 13 |
| عَرَبِي | لِتَستَووا عَلىٰ ظُهورِهِ ثُمَّ تَذكُروا نِعمَةَ رَبِّكُم إِذَا استَوَيتُم عَلَيهِ وَتَقولوا سُبحانَ الَّذي سَخَّرَ لَنا هٰذا وَما كُنّا لَهُ مُقرِنينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Litastawoo AAala thuhoorihi thumma tathkuroo niAAmata rabbikum itha istawaytum AAalayhi wataqooloo subhana allathee sakhkhara lana hatha wama kunna lahu muqrineena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Litastawoo 'alaa zuhoorihee summa tazkuroo ni'mata Rabbikum izastawaitum 'alaihi wa taqooloo Subhaanal lazee sakhkhara lana haaza wa maa kunnaa lahoo muqrineen |
| English (Pickthall) | That ye may mount upon their backs, and may remember your Lord's favour when ye mount thereon, and may say: Glorified be He Who hath subdued these unto us, and we were not capable (of subduing them); |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | In order that ye may sit firm and square on their backs, and when so seated, ye may celebrate the (kind) favour of your Lord, and say, "Glory to Him Who has subjected these to our (use), for we could never have accomplished this (by ourselves), |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | That you may settle yourselves upon their backs and then remember the favor of your Lord when you have settled upon them and say. "Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | He had created for you all that, in the hope that you settle yourselves on the backs of your mounts during your travels and then remember the blessing of your Lord over you in your hearts, in that He has made them subservient to you when you mount them, saying with your tongues: “The being who made these mounts subservient for us is pure and glorified. We control them, whilst we would not have been able to do so if it had not been for His making them subservient to us.” |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | ताकि तुम उनकी पीठों पर जमकर बैठो, फिर याद करो अपने रब की अनुकम्पा को जब तुम उनपर बैठ जाओ और कहो, "कितना महिमावान है वह जिसने इसको हमारे वश में किया, अन्यथा हम तो इसे क़ाबू में कर सकनेवाले न थे |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | ताकि तुम उसकी पीठ पर चढ़ो और जब उस पर (अच्छी तरह) सीधे हो बैठो तो अपने परवरदिगार का एहसान माना करो और कहो कि वह (ख़ुदा हर ऐब से) पाक है जिसने इसको हमारा ताबेदार बनाया हालॉकि हम तो ऐसे (ताक़तवर) न थे कि उस पर क़ाबू पाते |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | यह सब उसने तुम्हारे लिए इसलिए बनाया है, ताकि सफ़र में उनकी पीठ पर जमकर बैठ सको। फिर जब तुम उनकी पीठ पर बैठ जाओ, तो अपने पालनहार की नेमत को याद करो कि उसने इन्हें तुम्हारे वश में कर दिया और तुम अपनी ज़बान से कहो : पवित्र है वह अल्लाह, जिसने इस सवारी को हमारे वश में कर दिया, तो हम इसपर नियंत्रण रखते हैं। हालाँकि यदि अल्लाह ने उसे हमारे वश में न कर दिया होता, तो हम ऐसा करने में सक्षम नहीं थे। |
| Ayah 14 |
| عَرَبِي | وَإِنّا إِلىٰ رَبِّنا لَمُنقَلِبونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wainna ila rabbina lamunqaliboona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa innaaa ilaa Rabbinaa lamunqaliboon |
| English (Pickthall) | And lo! unto our Lord we surely are returning. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | "And to our Lord, surely, must we turn back!" |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And indeed we, to our Lord, will [surely] return." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | “And indeed, we are definitely going to return to our Lord alone for accountability and requital.” |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और निश्चय ही हम अपने रब की ओर लौटनेवाले है।" |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और हमको तो यक़ीनन अपने परवरदिगार की तरफ लौट कर जाना है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | निःसंदेह हम अपनी मृत्यु के बाद, हिसाब और बदले के लिए अकेले अपने पालनहार की ओर लौटने वाले हैं। |
| Ayah 15 |
| عَرَبِي | وَجَعَلوا لَهُ مِن عِبادِهِ جُزءًا ۚ إِنَّ الإِنسانَ لَكَفورٌ مُبينٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | WajaAAaloo lahu min AAibadihi juzan inna alinsana lakafoorun mubeenun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa ja'aloo lahoo min 'ibaadihee juz'aa; innal insaana lakafoorum mubeen |
| English (Pickthall) | And they allot to Him a portion of His bondmen! Lo! man is verily a mere ingrate. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Yet they attribute to some of His servants a share with Him (in his godhead)! truly is man a blasphemous ingrate avowed! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | But they have attributed to Him from His servants a portion. Indeed, man is clearly ungrateful. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | The idolaters claim that some of the creations are the offspring of the Creator (may He be glorified), when they said, “The angels are the daughters of Allah”. Indeed, the human who makes these kind of statements is very ungrateful and deviant. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | उन्होंने उसके बन्दों में से कुछ को उसका अंश ठहरा दिया! निश्चय ही मनुष्य खुला कृतघ्न है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और उन लोगों ने उसके बन्दों में से उसके लिए औलाद क़रार दी है इसमें शक़ नहीं कि इन्सान खुल्लम खुल्ला बड़ा ही नाशक्रा है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | मुश्रिकों ने दावा किया कि कुछ जीव महिमावान सृष्टिकर्ता (अल्लाह) से पैदा हुए हैं, जब उन्होंने कहा : फ़रिश्ते अल्लाह की बेटियाँ हैं। निश्चय ही ऐसा कहने वाला व्यक्ति स्पष्ट कृतघ्न और गुमराह है। |
| Ayah 16 |
| عَرَبِي | أَمِ اتَّخَذَ مِمّا يَخلُقُ بَناتٍ وَأَصفاكُم بِالبَنينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Ami ittakhatha mimma yakhluqu banatin waasfakum bialbaneena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Amit takhaza mimmaa yakhluqu banaatinw wa asfaakum bilbaneen |
| English (Pickthall) | Or chooseth He daughters of all that He hath created, and honoureth He you with sons? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | What! has He taken daughters out of what He himself creates, and granted to you sons for choice? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Or has He taken, out of what He has created, daughters and chosen you for [having] sons? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O idolaters! Do you say: “Allah has chosen daughters for Himself from among the things He creates”, whilst He has privileged you with male offspring? What an absurd distribution this is which you claim! |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | (क्या किसी ने अल्लाह को इससे रोक दिया है कि वह अपने लिए बेटे चुनता) या जो कुछ वह पैदा करता है उसमें से उसने स्वयं ही अपने लिए तो बेटियाँ लीं और तुम्हें चुन लिया बेटों के लिए? |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | क्या उसने अपनी मख़लूक़ात में से ख़ुद तो बेटियाँ ली हैं और तुमको चुनकर बेटे दिए हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | (ऐ मुश्रिको!) क्या तुम कहते हो कि अल्लाह ने अपनी पैदा की हुई चीज़ों में से अपने लिए बेटियाँ बना ली हैं और तुम्हें बेटों के लिए चुन लिया है?! भला यह कैसा विभाजन है, जिसका तुमने दावा किया है?! |
| Ayah 17 |
| عَرَبِي | وَإِذا بُشِّرَ أَحَدُهُم بِما ضَرَبَ لِلرَّحمٰنِ مَثَلًا ظَلَّ وَجهُهُ مُسوَدًّا وَهُوَ كَظيمٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waitha bushshira ahaduhum bima daraba lilrrahmani mathalan thalla wajhuhu muswaddan wahuwa katheemun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa izaa bushshira ahaduhum bimaa daraba lir Rahmaani masalan zalla wajhuhoo muswaddanw wa hua kazeem |
| English (Pickthall) | And if one of them hath tidings of that which he likeneth to the Beneficent One, his countenance becometh black and he is full of inward rage. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | When news is brought to one of them of (the birth of) what he sets up as a likeness to (Allah) Most Gracious, his face darkens, and he is filled with inward grief! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And when one of them is given good tidings of that which he attributes to the Most Merciful in comparison, his face becomes dark, and he suppresses grief. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | When one of them is given news of the birth of a female whom he attributes to his Lord, his face becomes gloomy out of severe grief and sadness, and he himself becomes full of anger. How then can he attribute to his Lord the very thing that he himself is saddened by when informed of it? |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और हाल यह है कि जब उनमें से किसी को उसकी मंगल सूचना दी जाती है, जो वह रहमान के लिए बयान करता है, तो उसके मुँह पर कलौंस छा जाती है और वह ग़म के मारे घुटा-घुटा रहने लगता है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | हालॉकि जब उनमें किसी शख़्श को उस चीज़ (बेटी) की ख़ुशख़बरी दी जाती है जिसकी मिसल उसने ख़ुदा के लिए बयान की है तो वह (ग़ुस्से के मारे) सियाह हो जाता है और ताव पेंच खाने लगता है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | हालाँकि जब उनमें से किसी को उस बेटी की शुभ सूचना दी जाए, जिसकी निस्बत वह अपने पालनहार की ओर करता है, तो शोक और दु:ख की तीव्रता से उसका चेहरा काला हो जाता है और वह क्रोध से भर जाता है। तो वह अपने पालनहार की ओर ऐसी चीज़ की निस्बत कैसे करता है, जिसकी शुभ सूचना दिए जाने पर वह शोकाकुल हो जाता है। |
| Ayah 18 |
| عَرَبِي | أَوَمَن يُنَشَّأُ فِي الحِليَةِ وَهُوَ فِي الخِصامِ غَيرُ مُبينٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Awaman yunashshao fee alhilyati wahuwa fee alkhisami ghayru mubeenin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Awa mai yunashsha'u fil hilyati wa huwa fil khisaami ghairu mubeen |
| English (Pickthall) | (Liken they then to Allah) that which is bred up in outward show, and in dispute cannot make itself plain? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Is then one brought up among trinkets, and unable to give a clear account in a dispute (to be associated with Allah)? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | So is one brought up in ornaments while being during conflict unevident [attributed to Allah]? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Do they attribute to their Lord the one who is brought up in adornment and is unclear in speech when arguing due to its femininity? |

| हिन्दी (Suhail) | क्या वह (औरत) जो ज़ेवरों में पाली पोसी जाए और झगड़े में (अच्छी तरह) बात तक न कर सकें (ख़ुदा की बेटी हो सकती है) |

| Ayah 19 |
| عَرَبِي | وَجَعَلُوا المَلائِكَةَ الَّذينَ هُم عِبادُ الرَّحمٰنِ إِناثًا ۚ أَشَهِدوا خَلقَهُم ۚ سَتُكتَبُ شَهادَتُهُم وَيُسأَلونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | WajaAAaloo almalaikata allatheena hum AAibadu alrrahmani inathan ashahidoo khalqahum satuktabu shahadatuhum wayusaloona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa ja'alul malaaa'ikatal lazeena hum 'ibaadur Rahmaani inaasaa; a shahidoo khalaqhum; satuktabu shahaa datuhum wa yus'aloon |
| English (Pickthall) | And they make the angels, who are the slaves of the Beneficent, females. Did they witness their creation? Their testimony will be recorded and they will be questioned. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And they make into females angels who themselves serve Allah. Did they witness their creation? Their evidence will be recorded, and they will be called to account! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And they have made the angels, who are servants of the Most Merciful, females. Did they witness their creation? Their testimony will be recorded, and they will be questioned. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | They also regard as feminine the angels that are in reality the servants of The Merciful. Were they present at the time of Allah created them, so that they would know that they are actually females? The angels will record this statement of theirs and they will be questioned regarding it on the Day of Judgement. And they will be punished for it because of their lies. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | उन्होंने फ़रिश्तों को, जो रहमान के बन्दे है, स्त्रियाँ ठहरा ली है। क्या वे उनकी संरचना के समय मौजूद थे? उनकी गवाही लिख ली जाएगी और उनसे पूछ होगी |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और उन लोगों ने फ़रिश्तों को कि वह भी ख़ुदा के बन्दे हैं (ख़ुदा की) बेटियाँ बनायी हैं लोग फरिश्तों की पैदाइश क्यों खड़े देख रहे थे अभी उनकी शहादत क़लम बन्द कर ली जाती है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | उन्होंने फ़रिश्तों को, जो कि परम दयालु अल्लाह के बंदे हैं, नारी ठहरा लिया है। क्या वे उस समय उपस्थित थे जब अल्लाह ने उन्हें बनाया था, इसलिए उन्हें पता चल गया कि वे नारी हैं?! फ़रिश्ते उनकी इस गवाही को लिख लेंगे और वे क़ियामत के दिन इसके बारे में पूछे जाएँगे तथा उनके झूठ बोलने के कारण इसपर उन्हें यातना दी जाएगी। |
| Ayah 20 |
| عَرَبِي | وَقالوا لَو شاءَ الرَّحمٰنُ ما عَبَدناهُم ۗ ما لَهُم بِذٰلِكَ مِن عِلمٍ ۖ إِن هُم إِلّا يَخرُصونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waqaloo law shaa alrrahmanu ma AAabadnahum ma lahum bithalika min AAilmin in hum illa yakhrusoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa qaaloo law shaaa'ar Rahmaanu maa 'abadnaahum; maa lahum bizaalika min 'ilmin in hum illaa yakhrusoon |
| English (Pickthall) | And they say: If the Beneficent One had (so) willed, we should not have worshipped them. They have no knowledge whatsoever of that. They do but guess. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | ("Ah!") they say, "If it had been the will of (Allah) Most Gracious, we should not have worshipped such (deities)!" Of that they have no knowledge! they do nothing but lie! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And they said, "If the Most Merciful had willed, we would not have worshipped them." They have of that no knowledge. They are not but falsifying. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And they say, using divine decree as evidence, “If Allah willed that we did not worship the angels, we would not have worshipped them. So because He willed for it to happen, it proves He was happy with it.” They make this statement out of ignorance; they are only lying. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | वे कहते है कि "यदि रहमान चाहता तो हम उन्हें न पूजते।" उन्हें इसका कुछ ज्ञान नहीं। वे तो बस अटकल दौड़ाते है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और (क़यामत) में उनसे बाज़पुर्स की जाएगी और कहते हैं कि अगर ख़ुदा चाहता तो हम उनकी परसतिश न करते उनको उसकी कुछ ख़बर ही नहीं ये लोग तो बस अटकल पच्चू बातें किया करते हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | उन्होंने तक़दीर को तर्क (बहाना) बनाते हुए कहा : अगर अल्लाह चाहता कि हम फ़रिश्तों की पूजा न करें, तो हम उनकी पूजा न करते। अतः उसका हमसे यह चाहना उसकी संतुष्टि को इंगित करता है। उन्हें अपनी इस बात का कोई ज्ञान नहीं है, वे केवल झूठ बोल रहे हैं। |
| Ayah 21 |
| عَرَبِي | أَم آتَيناهُم كِتابًا مِن قَبلِهِ فَهُم بِهِ مُستَمسِكونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Am ataynahum kitaban min qablihi fahum bihi mustamsikoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Am aatainaahum Kitaabam min qablihee fahum bihee mustamsikoon |
| English (Pickthall) | Or have We given them any scripture before (this Qur'an) so that they are holding fast thereto? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | What! have We given them a Book before this, to which they are holding fast? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Or have We given them a book before the Qur'an to which they are adhering? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Or, have I given these idolaters a book before the Qur’ān that allows them to worship other than Allah, which they are holding fast to and using as evidence? |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | (क्या हमने इससे पहले उनके पास कोई रसूल भेजा है) या हमने इससे पहले उनको कोई किताब दी है तो वे उसे दृढ़तापूर्वक थामें हुए है? |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | या हमने उनको उससे पहले कोई किताब दी थी कि ये लोग उसे मज़बूत थामें हुए हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | क्या हमने इन मुश्रिकों को क़ुरआन से पहले कोई पुस्तक दी है, जो उन्हें अल्लाह के अलावा किसी अन्य की पूजा करने की अनुमति देती है?! अतः वे उसी पुस्तक को थामे हुए हैं, उसी को तर्क बनाते हैं। |
| Ayah 22 |
| عَرَبِي | بَل قالوا إِنّا وَجَدنا آباءَنا عَلىٰ أُمَّةٍ وَإِنّا عَلىٰ آثارِهِم مُهتَدونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Bal qaloo inna wajadna abaana AAala ommatin wainna AAala atharihim muhtadoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Bal qaalooo innaa wajadnaaa aabaaa'anaa 'alaaa ummatinw wa innaa 'alaaa aasaarihim muhtadoon |
| English (Pickthall) | Nay, for they say only: Lo! we found our fathers following a religion, and we are guided by their footprints. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Nay! they say: "We found our fathers following a certain religion, and we do guide ourselves by their footsteps." |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Rather, they say, "Indeed, we found our fathers upon a religion, and we are in their footsteps [rightly] guided." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | No! That has not happened. Rather, they are using their blind following as evidence, saying, “Indeed, we found our forefathers before us upon a belief and they used to worship idols. We are continuing in their footsteps in worshipping them.” |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | नहीं, बल्कि वे कहते है, "हमने तो अपने बाप-दादा को एक तरीक़े पर पाया और हम उन्हीं के पद-चिन्हों पर हैं, सीधे मार्ग पर चल रहे है।" |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | बल्कि ये लोग तो ये कहते हैं कि हमने अपने बाप दादाओं को एक तरीके पर पाया और हम उनको क़दम ब क़दम ठीक रास्ते पर चले जा रहें हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | नहीं, ऐसा नहीं हुआ। बल्कि, उन्होंने (बाप-दादा के) अनुकरण को तर्क बनाते हुए कहा : हमने अपने बाप-दादा को एक धर्म और एक मार्ग पर पाया है, और वे मूर्तियों की पूजा करते थे। हम इन (मूर्तियों) की पूजा में उन्हीं के पदचिह्नों पर चल रहे हैं। |
| Ayah 23 |
| عَرَبِي | وَكَذٰلِكَ ما أَرسَلنا مِن قَبلِكَ في قَريَةٍ مِن نَذيرٍ إِلّا قالَ مُترَفوها إِنّا وَجَدنا آباءَنا عَلىٰ أُمَّةٍ وَإِنّا عَلىٰ آثارِهِم مُقتَدونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wakathalika ma arsalna min qablika fee qaryatin min natheerin illa qala mutrafooha inna wajadna abaana AAala ommatin wainna AAala atharihim muqtadoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa kazaalika maaa arsalnaa min qablika fee qaryatim min nazeerin illaa qaala mutrafoohaaa innaa wajadnaaa aabaaa'anaa 'alaaa ummatinw wa innaa 'alaaa aasaarihim muqtadoon |
| English (Pickthall) | And even so We sent not a warner before thee (Muhammad) into any township but its luxurious ones said: Lo! we found our fathers following a religion, and we are following their footprints. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Just in the same way, whenever We sent a Warner before thee to any people, the wealthy ones among them said: "We found our fathers following a certain religion, and we will certainly follow in their footsteps." |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And similarly, We did not send before you any warner into a city except that its affluent said, "Indeed, we found our fathers upon a religion, and we are, in their footsteps, following." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And just as these people have lied and used the blind following of their forefathers as evidence, O Messenger, I did not send any messenger to any community before you, except that those living in luxury in that village said, “Indeed, we found our forefathers upon a belief, and we are following in their footsteps”, so your nation is not any different in that regard. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | इसी प्रकार हमने जिस किसी बस्ती में तुमसे पहले कोई सावधान करनेवाला भेजा तो वहाँ के सम्पन्न लोगों ने बस यही कहा कि "हमने तो अपने बाप-दादा को एक तरीक़े पर पाया और हम उन्हीं के पद-चिन्हों पर है, उनका अनुसरण कर रहे है।" |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और (ऐ रसूल) इसी तरह हमने तुमसे पहले किसी बस्ती में कोई डराने वाला (पैग़म्बर) नहीं भेजा मगर वहाँ के ख़ुशहाल लोगों ने यही कहा कि हमने अपने बाप दादाओं को एक तरीके पर पाया, और हम यक़ीनी उनके क़दम ब क़दम चले जा रहे हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | जिस तरह इन लोगों ने झुठलाया और अपने बाप-दादा का अनुकरण करने को तर्क बनाया, उसी तरह (ऐ रसूल) हमने आपसे पहले जिस बस्ती में भी किसी रसूल को उसकी जाति के लोगों को सावधान करने के लिए भेजा, तो उनके समृद्ध प्रमुखों तथा बड़े लोगों ने कहा : हमने अपने बाप-दादा को एक धर्म और एक मार्ग पर पाया है और हम उन्हीं के पदचिह्नों पर चल रहे हैं। अतः आपकी जाति इस मामले में कोई अनूठी नहीं है। |
| Ayah 24 |
| عَرَبِي | ۞ قالَ أَوَلَو جِئتُكُم بِأَهدىٰ مِمّا وَجَدتُم عَلَيهِ آباءَكُم ۖ قالوا إِنّا بِما أُرسِلتُم بِهِ كافِرونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Qala awalaw jitukum biahda mimma wajadtum AAalayhi abaakum qaloo inna bima orsiltum bihi kafiroona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Qaala awa law ji'tukum bi ahdaa mimmaa wajattum 'alaihi aabaaa'akum qaalooo innaa bimaaa ursiltum bihee kaafiroon |
| English (Pickthall) | (And the warner) said: What! Even though I bring you better guidance than that ye found your fathers following? They answered: Lo! in what ye bring we are disbelievers. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | He said: "What! Even if I brought you better guidance than that which ye found your fathers following?" They said: "For us, we deny that ye (prophets) are sent (on a mission at all)." |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | [Each warner] said, "Even if I brought you better guidance than that [religion] upon which you found your fathers?" They said, "Indeed we, in that with which you were sent, are disbelievers." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Their messengers said to them, “Will you follow your forefathers even if I brought to you something that was better than the belief they were on?” They said, “Indeed, we reject whatever you and the messengers before you have been sent with.” |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | उसने कहा, "क्या यदि मैं उससे उत्तम मार्गदर्शन लेकर आया हूँ, जिसपर तूने अपने बाप-दादा को पाया है, तब भी (तुम अपने बाप-दादा के पद-चिह्मों का ही अनुसरण करोगं)?" उन्होंने कहा, "तुम्हें जो कुछ देकर भेजा गया है, हम तो उसका इनकार करते है।" |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | (इस पर) उनके पैग़म्बर ने कहा भी जिस तरीक़े पर तुमने अपने बाप दादाओं को पाया अगरचे मैं तुम्हारे पास इससे बेहतर राहे रास्त पर लाने वाला दीन लेकर आया हूँ (तो भी न मानोगे) वह बोले (कुछ हो मगर) हम तो उस दीन को जो तुम देकर भेजे गए हो मानने वाले नहीं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | उनके रसूल ने उनसे कहा : क्या तुम अपने बाप-दादा का अनुसरण करते रहोगे, अगरचे मैं तुम्हारे पास उससे बेहतर मार्ग लाया हूँ जिसपर तुम्हारे बाप-दादा थे? उन्होंने कहा : जो (धर्म) तुम और तुमसे पहले के रसूल देकर भेजे गए हैं, हम उसका इनकार करते हैं। |
| Ayah 25 |
| عَرَبِي | فَانتَقَمنا مِنهُم ۖ فَانظُر كَيفَ كانَ عاقِبَةُ المُكَذِّبينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faintaqamna minhum faonthur kayfa kana AAaqibatu almukaththibeena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fantaqamnaa minhum fanzur kaifa kaana 'aaqibatul mukazzibeen |
| English (Pickthall) | So We requited them. Then see the nature of the consequence for the rejecters! |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | So We exacted retribution from them: now see what was the end of those who rejected (Truth)! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | So we took retribution from them; then see how was the end of the deniers. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | So I took retribution from the nations that rejected the messengers before you and I destroyed them. So ponder over what the outcome of the rejectors was, because their outcome was painful. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अन्ततः हमने उनसे बदला लिया। तो देख लो कि झुठलानेवालों का कैसा परिणाम हुआ? |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो हमने उनसे बदला लिया (तो ज़रा) देखो तो कि झुठलाने वालों का क्या अन्जाम हुआ |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | चुनाँचे हमने आपसे पूर्व रसूलों को झुठलाने वाले समुदायों से बदला लिया, सो हमने उन्हें विनष्ट कर दिया। अतः विचार करें कि अपने रसूलों को झुठलाने वालों का अंत कैसा हुआ। वास्तव में, वह एक दर्दनाक अंत था। |
| Ayah 26 |
| عَرَبِي | وَإِذ قالَ إِبراهيمُ لِأَبيهِ وَقَومِهِ إِنَّني بَراءٌ مِمّا تَعبُدونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waith qala ibraheemu liabeehi waqawmihi innanee baraon mimma taAAbudoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa iz qaala Ibraaheemu liabeehi wa qawmiheee innane baraaa'um mimmaa ta'budo |
| English (Pickthall) | And when Abraham said unto his father and his folk: Lo! I am innocent of what ye worship |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Behold! Abraham said to his father and his people: "I do indeed clear myself of what ye worship: |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And [mention, O Muhammad], when Abraham said to his father and his people, "Indeed, I am disassociated from that which you worship |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O Messenger! Remember when Abraham said to his father and his people: “Indeed, I am innocent of the idols you worship instead of Allah.” |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | याद करो, जबकि इबराहीम ने अपने बाप और अपनी क़ौम से कहा, "तुम जिनको पूजते हो उनसे मेरा कोई सम्बन्ध नहीं, |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | (ऐ रसूल!) उस समय को याद करें, जब इबराहीम अलैहिस्सलाम ने अपने बाप और अपनी जाति से कहा : तुम अल्लाह के सिवा जिन मूर्तियों को पूजते हो, मैं उनसे बरी हूँ। |
| Ayah 27 |
| عَرَبِي | إِلَّا الَّذي فَطَرَني فَإِنَّهُ سَيَهدينِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Illa allathee fataranee fainnahu sayahdeeni |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Illal lazee fataranee innahoo sa yahdeen |
| English (Pickthall) | Save Him Who did create me, for He will surely guide me. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | "(I worship) only Him Who made me, and He will certainly guide me." |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Except for He who created me; and indeed, He will guide me." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | “Except for Allah who created me, because He will soon guide me to follow the true religion of His and that will benefit me.” |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | सिवाय उसके जिसने मुझे पैदा किया। अतः निश्चय ही वह मुझे मार्ग दिखाएगा।" |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | मगर उसकी इबादत करता हूँ, जिसने मुझे पैदा किया तो वही बहुत जल्द मेरी हिदायत करेगा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | सिवाय उस अल्लाह के, जिसने मुझे पैदा किया है। अतः निःसंदेह वही मुझे अपने सीधे धर्म का पालन करने के लिए मार्गदर्शन करेगा, जिसमें मेरा लाभ निहित है। |
| Ayah 28 |
| عَرَبِي | وَجَعَلَها كَلِمَةً باقِيَةً في عَقِبِهِ لَعَلَّهُم يَرجِعونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | WajaAAalaha kalimatan baqiyatan fee AAaqibihi laAAallahum yarjiAAoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa ja'alahaa Kalimatam baaqiyatan fee 'aqibihee la'al lahum yarji'oon |
| English (Pickthall) | And he made it a word enduring among his seed, that haply they might return. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And he left it as a Word to endure among those who came after him, that they may turn back (to Allah). |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And he made it a word remaining among his descendants that they might return [to it]. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And Abraham made this monotheistic statement of his remain in his progeny after him. There remained among them those who would worship Allah alone and not attribute any partners with Him, in the hope that they turn to Allah having repented from ascribing partners with Him and sins. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और यही बात वह अपने पीछे (अपनी सन्तान में) बाक़ी छोड़ गया, ताकि वे रुजू करें |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और उसी (ईमान) को इब्राहीम ने अपनी औलाद में हमेशा बाक़ी रहने वाली बात छोड़ गए ताकि वह (ख़ुदा की तरफ रूजू) करें |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | इबराहीम अलैहिस्सालाम ने तौहीद (एकेश्वरवाद) के वाक्य : (ला इलाहा इल्लल्लाह) को, अपने बाद, अपनी संतान में बाक़ी रहने वाला वाक्य बना दिया। चुनाँचे उनके अंदर हमेशा ऐसे लोग रहे हैं, जो अल्लाह को एकमात्र पूज्य मानते हैं और उसके साथ किसी भी चीज़ को साझी नहीं बनाते। इस आशा में कि वे शिर्क और पाप से तौबा करके अल्लाह की ओर लौट आएँ। |
| Ayah 29 |
| عَرَبِي | بَل مَتَّعتُ هٰؤُلاءِ وَآباءَهُم حَتّىٰ جاءَهُمُ الحَقُّ وَرَسولٌ مُبينٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Bal mattaAAtu haolai waabaahum hatta jaahumu alhaqqu warasoolun mubeenun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Bal matta'tu haaa'ulaaa'i wa aabaaa'ahum hattaa jaaa'a humul haqqu wa Rasoolum mubeen |
| English (Pickthall) | Nay, but I let these and their fathers enjoy life (only) till there should come unto them the Truth and a messenger making plain. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Yea, I have given the good things of this life to these (men) and their fathers, until the Truth has come to them, and a messenger making things clear. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | However, I gave enjoyment to these [people of Makkah] and their fathers until there came to them the truth and a clear Messenger. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | I did not hasten the destruction upon these rejecting idolaters. Rather, I let them enjoy remaining in the world and I let their forefathers do the same, until the Qur’ān and a clear Messenger: Muhammad (peace be upon him) came to them. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | नहीं,बल्कि मैं उन्हें और उनके बाप-दादा को जीवन-सुख प्रदान करता रहा, यहाँ तक कि उनके पास सत्य और खोल-खोलकर बतानेवाला रसूल आ गया |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | बल्कि मैं उनको और उनके बाप दादाओं को फायदा पहुँचाता रहा यहाँ तक कि उनके पास (दीने) हक़ और साफ़ साफ़ बयान करने वाला रसूल आ पहुँचा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | मैंने इन झूठलाने वाले मुश्रिकों को नष्ट करने में जल्दी नहीं की, बल्कि उन्हें दुनिया में बाकी रहने दिया और उनसे पहले उनके बाप-दादा को भी बाकी रहने दिया था, यहाँ तक कि उनके पास क़ुरआन और स्पष्ट रसूल अर्थात मुहम्मद सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि व सल्लम आ गए। |
| Ayah 30 |
| عَرَبِي | وَلَمّا جاءَهُمُ الحَقُّ قالوا هٰذا سِحرٌ وَإِنّا بِهِ كافِرونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Walamma jaahumu alhaqqu qaloo hatha sihrun wainna bihi kafiroona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa lammaa jaaa'ahumul haqqu qaaloo haazaa sihrunw wa innaa bihee kaafiroon |
| English (Pickthall) | And now that the Truth hath come unto them they say: This is mere magic, and lo! we are disbelievers therein. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | But when the Truth came to them, they said: "This is sorcery, and we do reject it." |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | But when the truth came to them, they said, "This is magic, and indeed we are, concerning it, disbelievers." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And when this Qur’ān came to them, which was the undoubted truth, they said, “This is sorcery which Muhammad intends to bewitch us with. We definitely reject it and will never believe in it.” |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | किन्तु जब वह हक़ लेकर उनके पास आया तो वे कहने लगे, "यह तो जादू है। और हम तो इसका इनकार करते है।" |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और जब उनके पास (दीन) हक़ आ गया तो कहने लगे ये तो जादू है और हम तो हरगिज़ इसके मानने वाले नहीं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और जब उनके पास यह क़ुरआन आ गया, जो ऐसा सत्य है, जिसमें कोई संदेह नहीं है, तो उन्होंने कहा : यह तो एक जादू है, जिसके द्वारा मुहम्मद हमपर जादू कर देता है। हम तो इसका इनकार करते हैं। अतः हम कदापि इसपर ईमान नहीं लाएँगे। |
| Ayah 31 |
| عَرَبِي | وَقالوا لَولا نُزِّلَ هٰذَا القُرآنُ عَلىٰ رَجُلٍ مِنَ القَريَتَينِ عَظيمٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waqaloo lawla nuzzila hatha alquranu AAala rajulin mina alqaryatayni AAatheemun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa qaaloo law laa nuzzila haazal Quraanu 'alaa rajulim minal qaryataini 'azeem |
| English (Pickthall) | And they say: If only this Qur'an had been revealed to some great man of the two towns? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Also, they say: "Why is not this Qur'an sent down to some leading man in either of the two (chief) cities?" |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And they said, "Why was this Qur'an not sent down upon a great man from [one of] the two cities?" |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | The rejecting idolaters say, “Why did Allah not reveal this Qur’ān upon one of the two great men of Makkah or Taif: Al-Walīd ibn ‘Uqbah or ‘Urwah ibn Mas‘ūd Al-Thaqafī, instead of revealing it upon the poor, orphaned Muhammad?” |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | वे कहते है, "यह क़ुरआन इन दो बस्तियों के किसी बड़े आदमी पर क्यों नहीं अवतरित हुआ?" |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और कहने लगे कि ये क़ुरान इन दो बस्तियों (मक्के ताएफ) में से किसी बड़े आदमी पर क्यों नहीं नाज़िल किया गया |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | झूठलाने वाले मुश्रिकों ने कहा : अल्लाह ने इस क़ुरआन को मुहम्मद जैसे निर्धन अनाथ पर उतारने के बजाय, मक्का अथवा तायफ़ के दो महान व्यक्तियों में से किसी एक पर क्यों नहीं उतारा? |
| Ayah 32 |
| عَرَبِي | أَهُم يَقسِمونَ رَحمَتَ رَبِّكَ ۚ نَحنُ قَسَمنا بَينَهُم مَعيشَتَهُم فِي الحَياةِ الدُّنيا ۚ وَرَفَعنا بَعضَهُم فَوقَ بَعضٍ دَرَجاتٍ لِيَتَّخِذَ بَعضُهُم بَعضًا سُخرِيًّا ۗ وَرَحمَتُ رَبِّكَ خَيرٌ مِمّا يَجمَعونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Ahum yaqsimoona rahmata rabbika nahnu qasamna baynahum maAAeeshatahum fee alhayati alddunya warafaAAna baAAdahum fawqa baAAdin darajatin liyattakhitha baAAduhum baAAdan sukhriyyan warahmatu rabbika khayrun mimma yajmaAAoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Ahum yaqsimoona rahmata Rabbik; Nahnu qasamnaa bainahum ma'eeshatahum fil hayaatid dunyaa wa rafa'naa ba'dahum fawqa ba'din darajaatil liyattakhiza ba'duhum ba'dan sukhriyyaa; wa rahmatu Rabbika khairum mimmaa yajma'oon |
| English (Pickthall) | Is it they who apportion thy Lord's mercy? We have apportioned among them their livelihood in the life of the world, and raised some of them above others in rank that some of them may take labour from others; and the mercy of thy Lord is better than (the wealth) that they amass. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Is it they who would portion out the Mercy of thy Lord? It is We Who portion out between them their livelihood in the life of this world: and We raise some of them above others in ranks, so that some may command work from others. But the Mercy of thy Lord is better than the (wealth) which they amass. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Do they distribute the mercy of your Lord? It is We who have apportioned among them their livelihood in the life of this world and have raised some of them above others in degrees [of rank] that they may make use of one another for service. But the mercy of your Lord is better than whatever they accumulate. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O Messenger! Do they distribute the mercy of your Lord, that they can give it to and prevent from it whomsoever they wish? It is I who distributed their provisions between them in the world making some of them rich and some poor, so that they are subservient to each other. The mercy of your Lord to His servants in the afterlife is better than the temporary, mortal things of the world that these people hoard. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | क्या वे तुम्हारे रब की दयालुता को बाँटते है? सांसारिक जीवन में उनके जीवन-यापन के साधन हमने उनके बीच बाँटे है और हमने उनमें से कुछ लोगों को दूसरे कुछ लोगों से श्रेणियों की दृष्टि से उच्च रखा है, ताकि उनमें से वे एक-दूसरे से काम लें। और तुम्हारे रब की दयालुता उससे कहीं उत्तम है जिसे वे समेट रहे है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | ये लोग तुम्हारे परवरदिगार की रहमत को (अपने तौर पर) बाँटते हैं हमने तो इनके दरमियान उनकी रोज़ी दुनयावी ज़िन्दगी में बाँट ही दी है और एक के दूसरे पर दर्जे बुलन्द किए हैं ताकि इनमें का एक दूसरे से ख़िदमत ले और जो माल (मतआ) ये लोग जमा करते फिरते हैं ख़ुदा की रहमत (पैग़म्बर) इससे कहीं बेहतर है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | (ऐ रसूल!) क्या आपके पालनहार की दया को ये लोग बाँटते हैं कि जिसे चाहते हैं देते हैं और जिसे चाहते हैं नहीं देते हैं या अल्लाह बाँटता है? हमने ही दुनिया में उनके बीच उनकी रोज़ी को बाँटा है और उनमें से किसी को धनवान् और किसी को निर्धन बनाया है; ताकि उनमें से कुछ लोग कुछ के अधीन हो जाएँ। और आख़िरत में आपके पालनहार की अपने बंदों के प्रति दया, उससे बेहतर है, जिसे ये लोग इस नश्वर दुनिया के सामान से इकट्ठा कर रहे हैं। |
| Ayah 33 |
| عَرَبِي | وَلَولا أَن يَكونَ النّاسُ أُمَّةً واحِدَةً لَجَعَلنا لِمَن يَكفُرُ بِالرَّحمٰنِ لِبُيوتِهِم سُقُفًا مِن فِضَّةٍ وَمَعارِجَ عَلَيها يَظهَرونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Walawla an yakoona alnnasu ommatan wahidatan lajaAAalna liman yakfuru bialrrahmani libuyootihim suqufan min fiddatin wamaAAarija AAalayha yathharoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa law laaa any yakoonan naasu ummatanw waahidatal laja'alnaa limany yakfuru bir Rahmaani libu yootihim suqufam min fiddatinw wa ma'aarija 'alaihaa yazharoon |
| English (Pickthall) | And were it not that mankind would have become one community, We might well have appointed, for those who disbelieve in the Beneficent, roofs of silver for their houses and stairs (of silver) whereby to mount, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And were it not that (all) men might become of one (evil) way of life, We would provide, for everyone that blasphemes against (Allah) Most Gracious, silver roofs for their houses and (silver) stair-ways on which to go up, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And if it were not that the people would become one community [of disbelievers], We would have made for those who disbelieve in the Most Merciful - for their houses - ceilings and stairways of silver upon which to mount |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Had it not been that humanity was on one creed of disbelief, I would have made in the houses of those who disbelieved in Allah roofs of silver and stairs upon which they could climb. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | यदि इस बात की सम्भावना न होती कि सब लोग एक ही समुदाय (अधर्मी) हो जाएँगे, तो जो लोग रहमान के साथ कुफ़्र करते है उनके लिए हम उनके घरों की छतें चाँदी की कर देते है और सीढ़ियाँ भी जिनपर वे चढ़ते। |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और अगर ये बात न होती कि (आख़िर) सब लोग एक ही तरीक़े के हो जाएँगे तो हम उनके लिए जो ख़ुदा से इन्कार करते हैं उनके घरों की छतें और वही सीढ़ियाँ जिन पर वह चढ़ते हैं (उतरते हैं) |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अगर यह बात न होती कि सभी लोग कुफ़्र की राह पर चल पड़ेंगे, तो हम उन लोगों के घरों की छतों को, जो अल्लाह का इनकार करते हैं, चाँदी की बना देते और उनके लिए सीढ़ियाँ भी बना देते, जिनपर वे चढ़ते। |
| Ayah 34 |
| عَرَبِي | وَلِبُيوتِهِم أَبوابًا وَسُرُرًا عَلَيها يَتَّكِئونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Walibuyootihim abwaban wasururan AAalayha yattakioona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa libu yootihim abwaabanw wa sururan 'alaihaa yattaki'oon |
| English (Pickthall) | And for their houses doors (of silver) and couches of silver whereon to recline, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And (silver) doors to their houses, and thrones (of silver) on which they could recline, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And for their houses - doors and couches [of silver] upon which to recline |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And I would make doors for their houses and give them elevated seats to recline on, as a trial and to gradually lead them into destruction. |

| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और उनके घरों के दरवाज़े और वह तख्त जिन पर तकिये लगाते हैं चाँदी और सोने के बना देते |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और हम उन्हें ढील देने तथा आज़माने के उद्देश्य से, उनके घरों के द्वार बना देते और उनके लिए ऐसे तख़्त बना देते, जिनपर वे तकिया लगाकर बैठते। |
| Ayah 35 |
| عَرَبِي | وَزُخرُفًا ۚ وَإِن كُلُّ ذٰلِكَ لَمّا مَتاعُ الحَياةِ الدُّنيا ۚ وَالآخِرَةُ عِندَ رَبِّكَ لِلمُتَّقينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wazukhrufan wain kullu thalika lamma mataAAu alhayati alddunya waalakhiratu AAinda rabbika lilmuttaqeena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa zukhrufaa; wa in kullu zaalika lammaa mataa'ul hayaatid dunyaa; wal aakhiratu 'inda Rabbika lilmuttaqeen |
| English (Pickthall) | And ornaments of gold. Yet all that would have been but a provision of the life of the world. And the Hereafter with your Lord would have been for those who keep from evil. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And also adornments of gold. But all this were nothing but conveniences of the present life: The Hereafter, in the sight of thy Lord is for the Righteous. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And gold ornament. But all that is not but the enjoyment of worldly life. And the Hereafter with your Lord is for the righteous. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | I would also give them gold. All that is only the temporary enjoyment of the world; its benefit is little because of its ultimate extinction. However O Messenger, the bounties of the afterlife are better according to your Lord, for those who are mindful of Him by fulfilling His commands and refrain from that which He has prohibited. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और सोने द्वारा सजावट का आयोजन भी कर देते। यह सब तो कुछ भी नहीं, बस सांसारिक जीवन की अस्थायी सुख-सामग्री है। और आख़िरत तुम्हारे रब के यहाँ डर रखनेवालों के लिए है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | ये सब साज़ो सामान, तो बस दुनियावी ज़िन्दगी के (चन्द रोज़ा) साज़ो सामान हैं (जो मिट जाएँगे) और आख़ेरत (का सामान) तो तुम्हारे परवरदिगार के यहॉ ख़ास परहेज़गारों के लिए है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तथा हम उनके लिए सोना बना देते। ये सारी चीज़ें सांसारिक जीवन की सुख सामग्री के सिवा कुछ नहीं हैं। इनका लाभ बहुत कम है, क्योंकि ये बाकी रहने वाली नहीं हैं। और आख़िरत में जो नेमत है, वह (ऐ रसूल!) आपके पालनहार के निकट उन लोगों के लिए उत्तम है, जो अल्लाह से, उसके आदेशों का पालन करके और उसकी मना की हुई चीज़ों से बचकर, डरते हैं। |
| Ayah 36 |
| عَرَبِي | وَمَن يَعشُ عَن ذِكرِ الرَّحمٰنِ نُقَيِّض لَهُ شَيطانًا فَهُوَ لَهُ قَرينٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waman yaAAshu AAan thikri alrrahmani nuqayyid lahu shaytanan fahuwa lahu qareenun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa mai ya'shu 'an zikrir Rahmaani nuqaiyid lahoo Shaitaanan fahuwa lahoo qareen |
| English (Pickthall) | And he whose sight is dim to the remembrance of the Beneficent, We assign unto him a devil who becometh his comrade; |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | If anyone withdraws himself from remembrance of (Allah) Most Gracious, We appoint for him an evil one, to be an intimate companion to him. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And whoever is blinded from remembrance of the Most Merciful - We appoint for him a devil, and he is to him a companion. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And whoever turns away from this Qur’ān that was revealed to Muhammad (peace be upon him), I shall set a satan upon him who will lure him with falsehood and lead him astray; it will remain with him wherever he goes. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | जो रहमान के स्मरण की ओर से अंधा बना रहा है, हम उसपर एक शैतान नियुक्त कर देते है तो वही उसका साथी होता है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और जो शख़्श ख़ुदा की चाह से अन्धा बनता है हम (गोया ख़ुद) उसके वास्ते शैतान मुक़र्रर कर देते हैं तो वही उसका (हर दम का) साथी है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | जो क़ुरआन को ध्यानपूर्वक न पढ़ने के कारणवश उससे विमुख हो जाता है, उसपर, सज़ा के तौर पर, एक शैतान नियुक्त कर दिया जाता है, जो हमेशा उसके साथ लगा रहता है और उसे पथभ्रष्टता में बढ़ाता रहता है। |
| Ayah 37 |
| عَرَبِي | وَإِنَّهُم لَيَصُدّونَهُم عَنِ السَّبيلِ وَيَحسَبونَ أَنَّهُم مُهتَدونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wainnahum layasuddoonahum AAani alssabeeli wayahsaboona annahum muhtadoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa innahum la yasuddoo nahum 'anis sabeeli wa yahsaboona annahum muhtadoon |
| English (Pickthall) | And lo! they surely turn them from the way of Allah, and yet they deem that they are rightly guided; |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Such (evil ones) really hinder them from the Path, but they think that they are being guided aright! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And indeed, the devils avert them from the way [of guidance] while they think that they are [rightly] guided |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Indeed, these satan companions who have been set upon those who turn away from the Qur’ān, prevent them from the religion of Allah. They are unable to fulfil His commands and refrain from things He has not allowed; they think that they are guided to the truth and so they do not repent from their deviance. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | औऱ वे (शैतान) उन्हें मार्ग से रोकते है और वे (इनकार करनेवाले) यह समझते है कि वे मार्ग पर है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और वह (शयातीन) उन लोगों को (ख़ुदा की) राह से रोकते रहते हैं बावजूद इसके वह उसी ख्याल में हैं कि वह यक़ीनी राहे रास्त पर हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और ये साथ रहने वाले (शैतान), जो क़ुरआन से मुँह फेरने वाले लोगों पर नियुक्त कर दिए जाते हैं, अवश्य उन्हें अल्लाह के धर्म से रोकते हैं। चुनाँचे वे न अल्लाह के आदेशों का पानल करते हैं और न उसकी मना की हुई चीज़ों से बचते हैं। और यह समझते हैं कि वे सत्य के मार्ग पर चलने वाले हैं। इसी कारण वे अपनी गुमराही से तौबा नहीं करते हैं। |
| Ayah 38 |
| عَرَبِي | حَتّىٰ إِذا جاءَنا قالَ يا لَيتَ بَيني وَبَينَكَ بُعدَ المَشرِقَينِ فَبِئسَ القَرينُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Hatta itha jaana qala ya layta baynee wabaynaka buAAda almashriqayni fabisa alqareenu |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Hattaaa izaa jaaa'anaa qaala yaa laita bainee wa bainaka bu'dal mashriqaini fabi'sal qareen |
| English (Pickthall) | Till, when he cometh unto Us, he saith (unto his comrade): Ah, would that between me and thee there were the distance of the two horizons - an evil comrade! |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | At length, when (such a one) comes to Us, he says (to his evil companion): "Would that between me and thee were the distance of East and West!" Ah! evil is the companion (indeed)! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Until, when he comes to Us [at Judgement], he says [to his companion], "Oh, I wish there was between me and you the distance between the east and west - how wretched a companion." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Until when the one who turns away from the remembrance of Allah will come to Him on the Day of Judgement, he will longingly say, “O companion! If only there had been the distance of the east and west between you and I! You were such a disgraceful companion!” |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | यहाँ तक कि जब वह हमारे पास आएगा तो (शैतान से) कहेगा, "ऐ काश, मेरे और तेरे बीच पूरब के दोनों किनारों की दूरी होती! तू तो बहुत ही बुरा साथी निकला!" |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | यहाँ तक कि जब (क़यामत में) हमारे पास आएगा तो (अपने साथी शैतान से) कहेगा काश मुझमें और तुममें पूरब पश्चिम का फ़ासला होता ग़रज़ (शैतान भी) क्या ही बुरा रफीक़ है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | यहाँ तक कि जब अल्लाह के ज़िक्र से मुँह मोड़ने वाला व्यक्ति क़ियामत के दिन हमारे पास आएगा, तो कामना करते हुए कहेगा : ऐ काश! मेरे और (ऐ हमेशा साथ रहने वाले शैतान!) तेरे बीच पूर्व और पश्चिम के बीच की दूरी होती। तू तो बहुत बुरा साथी है। |
| Ayah 39 |
| عَرَبِي | وَلَن يَنفَعَكُمُ اليَومَ إِذ ظَلَمتُم أَنَّكُم فِي العَذابِ مُشتَرِكونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Walan yanfaAAakumu alyawma ith thalamtum annakum fee alAAathabi mushtarikoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa lai yanfa'akumul Yawma iz zalamtum annakum fil 'azaabi mushtarikoon |
| English (Pickthall) | And it profiteth you not this day, because ye did wrong, that ye will be sharers in the doom. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | When ye have done wrong, it will avail you nothing, that Day, that ye shall be partners in Punishment! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And never will it benefit you that Day, when you have wronged, that you are [all] sharing in the punishment. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Allah will say to the disbelievers on the Day of Judgement, “After you have oppressed yourselves by ascribing partners to Me and committing sins, your sharing the punishment will not benefit you in the slightest today, despite you accompanying each other in disbelief and committing sins in the world.” |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और जबकि तुम ज़ालिम ठहरे तो आज यह बात तुम्हें कुछ लाभ न पहुँचा सकेगी कि यातना में तुम एक-दूसरे के साझी हो |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और जब तुम नाफरमानियाँ कर चुके तो (शयातीन के साथ) तुम्हारा अज़ाब में शरीक होना भी आज तुमको (अज़ाब की कमी में) कोई फायदा नहीं पहुँचा सकता |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अल्लाह क़ियामत के दिन काफ़िरों से कहेगा : आज तुम्हारा यातना में एक साथ होना, तुम्हें हरगिज़ लाभ न देगा, जबकि तुम शिर्क और पाप के द्वारा अपने ऊपर अत्याचार कर चुके हो। क्योंकि तुम्हारे साथी तुम्हारी ओर से तुम्हारी यातना का कुछ भी वहन नहीं करेंगे। |

| عَرَبِي | أَفَأَنتَ تُسمِعُ الصُّمَّ أَو تَهدِي العُميَ وَمَن كانَ في ضَلالٍ مُبينٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Afaanta tusmiAAu alssumma aw tahdee alAAumya waman kana fee dalalin mubeenin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Afa anta tusmi'us summa aw tahdil 'umya wa man kaana fee dalaalim mubeen |
| English (Pickthall) | Canst thou (Muhammad) make the deaf to hear, or canst thou guide the blind or him who is in error manifest? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Canst thou then make the deaf to hear, or give direction to the blind or to such as (wander) in manifest error? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Then will you make the deaf hear, [O Muhammad], or guide the blind or he who is in clear error? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Indeed, these people are deaf from hearing the truth and blind from seeing. O Messenger! Are you then capable of making the deaf hear, guiding the blind, or guiding the one clearly astray from the straight path? |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | क्या तुम बहरों को सुनाओगे या अंधो को और जो खुली गुमराही में पड़ा हुआ हो उसको राह दिखाओगे? |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो (ऐ रसूल) क्या तुम बहरों को सुना सकते हो या अन्धे को और उस शख़्श को जो सरीही गुमराही में पड़ा हो रास्ता दिखा सकते हो (हरगिज़ नहीं) |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | ये लोग सत्य सुनने से बहरे और उसे देखने से अंधे हैं। तो क्या (ऐ रसूल!) आप बहरे को सुना सकते हैं, अथवा अंधे को रास्ता दिखा सकते हैं, अथवा उन्हें राह पर ला सकते हैं, जो सीधे मार्ग से खुले तौर पर भटके हुए हैं?! |
| Ayah 41 |
| عَرَبِي | فَإِمّا نَذهَبَنَّ بِكَ فَإِنّا مِنهُم مُنتَقِمونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faimma nathhabanna bika fainna minhum muntaqimoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fa immaa nazhabanna bika fa innaa minhum muntaqimoon |
| English (Pickthall) | And if We take thee away, We surely shall take vengeance on them, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Even if We take thee away, We shall be sure to exact retribution from them, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And whether [or not] We take you away [in death], indeed, We will take retribution upon them. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | If I was to take you away by causing you to die before I punish them, I would be taking retribution from them by punishing them in the world and the Hereafter. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | फिर अगर हम आपको उठा लें - इस प्रकार कि उन्हें यातना देने से पहले आपको मृत्यु दे दें - तो भी हम उन्हें दुनिया और आख़िरत में यातना देकर उनसे बदला लेने वाले हैं। |

| عَرَبِي | أَو نُرِيَنَّكَ الَّذي وَعَدناهُم فَإِنّا عَلَيهِم مُقتَدِرونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Aw nuriyannaka allathee waAAadnahum fainna AAalayhim muqtadiroona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Aw nuriyannakal lazee wa'adnaahum fa innaa 'alaihim muqtadiroon |
| English (Pickthall) | Or (if) We show thee that wherewith We threaten them; for lo! We have complete command of them. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Or We shall show thee that (accomplished) which We have promised them: for verily We shall prevail over them. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Or whether [or not] We show you that which We have promised them, indeed, We are Perfect in Ability. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Or if I was to show you some of the punishment I have prepared for them; indeed, I possess the capability over them and they cannot overpower me in the slightest. |

| हिन्दी (Suhail) | या (तुम्हारी ज़िन्दगी ही में) जिस अज़ाब का हमने उनसे वायदा किया है तुमको दिखा दें तो उन पर हर तरह क़ाबू रखते हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | या हम आपको उस यातना का कुछ भाग दिखा दें, जिसका हम उनसे वादा कर रहे हैं, तो निश्चय ही हम उनपर शक्तिमान हैं। वे किसी भी चीज़ में हमारा मुक़ाबला नहीं कर सकते। |
| Ayah 43 |
| عَرَبِي | فَاستَمسِك بِالَّذي أوحِيَ إِلَيكَ ۖ إِنَّكَ عَلىٰ صِراطٍ مُستَقيمٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faistamsik biallathee oohiya ilayka innaka AAala siratin mustaqeemin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fastamsik billazeee oohi ya ilaika innaka 'alaa Siraatim Mustaqeem |
| English (Pickthall) | So hold thou fast to that which is inspired in thee. Lo! thou art on a right path. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | So hold thou fast to the Revelation sent down to thee; verily thou art on a Straight Way. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | So adhere to that which is revealed to you. Indeed, you are on a straight path. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | So O Messenger! Hold fast to whatever your Lord has revealed to you and practice it; you are upon the path of truth in which there is no uncertainty. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अतः तुम उस चीज़ को मज़बूती से थामे रहो जिसकी तुम्हारी ओर प्रकाशना की गई। निश्चय ही तु सीधे मार्ग पर हो |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो तुम्हारे पास जो वही भेजी गयी है तुम उसे मज़बूत पकड़े रहो इसमें शक़ नहीं कि तुम सीधी राह पर हो |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अतः (ऐ रसूल!) आप उसे मज़बूती से थामे रहें, जिसकी आपके पालनहार ने आपकी ओर वह़्य की है और उसपर अमल करते रहें। निःसंदेह आप सत्य मार्ग पर हैं, जिसमें कोई संशय नहीं है। |

| عَرَبِي | وَإِنَّهُ لَذِكرٌ لَكَ وَلِقَومِكَ ۖ وَسَوفَ تُسأَلونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wainnahu lathikrun laka waliqawmika wasawfa tusaloona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa innahoo lazikrul laka wa liqawmika wa sawfa tus'aloon |
| English (Pickthall) | And lo! it is in truth a Reminder for thee and for thy folk; and ye will be questioned. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | The (Qur'an) is indeed the message, for thee and for thy people; and soon shall ye (all) be brought to account. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And indeed, it is a remembrance for you and your people, and you [all] are going to be questioned. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And indeed, this Qur’ān is an honour for you and your nation. You shall soon be questioned on the Day of Judgement regarding bringing faith in it, following its guidance and calling towards it. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | निःसंदेह यह क़ुरआन आपके लिए तथा आपकी जाति के लिए एक सम्मान है। और क़ियामत के दिन तुमसे इसपर ईमान लाने, इसके मार्गदर्शन का पालन करने और इसकी ओर लोगों को आमंत्रित करने के बारे में पूछा जाएगा। |

| عَرَبِي | وَاسأَل مَن أَرسَلنا مِن قَبلِكَ مِن رُسُلِنا أَجَعَلنا مِن دونِ الرَّحمٰنِ آلِهَةً يُعبَدونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waisal man arsalna min qablika min rusulina ajaAAalna min dooni alrrahmani alihatan yuAAbadoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Was'al man arsalnaa min qablika mir Rusulinaaa aja'alnaa min doonir Rahmaani aalihatany yu badoon |
| English (Pickthall) | And ask those of Our messengers whom We sent before thee: Did We ever appoint gods to be worshipped beside the Beneficent? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And question thou our messengers whom We sent before thee; did We appoint any deities other than (Allah) Most Gracious, to be worshipped? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And ask those We sent before you of Our messengers; have We made besides the Most Merciful deities to be worshipped? |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | (ऐ रसूल!) आप उन रसूलों से पूछ लें, जिन्हें हमने आपसे पहले भेजा था : क्या हमने रहमान (परम दयालु अल्लाह) के सिवा भी कुछ पूज्य बनाए हैं, जिनकी पूजा की जाए?! |

| عَرَبِي | وَلَقَد أَرسَلنا موسىٰ بِآياتِنا إِلىٰ فِرعَونَ وَمَلَئِهِ فَقالَ إِنّي رَسولُ رَبِّ العالَمينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Walaqad arsalna moosa biayatina ila firAAawna wamalaihi faqala innee rasoolu rabbi alAAalameena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa laqad arsalnaa Moosaa bi aayaatinaaa ilaa Fir'awna wa mala'ihee faqaala innee Rasoolu Rabbil 'aalameen |
| English (Pickthall) | And verily We sent Moses with Our revelations unto Pharaoh and his chiefs, and he said: I am a messenger of the Lord of the Worlds. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | We did send Moses aforetime, with Our Signs, to Pharaoh and his Chiefs: He said, "I am a messenger of the Lord of the Worlds." |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And certainly did We send Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his establishment, and he said, "Indeed, I am the messenger of the Lord of the worlds." |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और हमने मूसा को अपनी निशानियाँ देकर फ़िरऔन और उसकी जाति के प्रमुख लोगों के पास भेजा, तो उसने उनसे कहा : मैं सभी प्राणियों के पालनहार का रसूल हूँ। |

| عَرَبِي | فَلَمّا جاءَهُم بِآياتِنا إِذا هُم مِنها يَضحَكونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Falamma jaahum biayatina itha hum minha yadhakoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Falammma jaaa'ahum bi aayaatinaaa izaa hum minhaa yadhakoon |
| English (Pickthall) | But when he brought them Our tokens, behold! they laughed at them. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | But when he came to them with Our Signs, behold they ridiculed them. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | But when he brought them Our signs, at once they laughed at them. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Then when he brought My signs to them, they began to laugh at them, mockingly. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तो जब वह उनके पास हमारी निशानियाँ लेकर आए, तो वे मज़ाक़ और उपहास के तौर पर उनपर हँसने लगे। |
| Ayah 48 |
| عَرَبِي | وَما نُريهِم مِن آيَةٍ إِلّا هِيَ أَكبَرُ مِن أُختِها ۖ وَأَخَذناهُم بِالعَذابِ لَعَلَّهُم يَرجِعونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wama nureehim min ayatin illa hiya akbaru min okhtiha waakhathnahum bialAAathabi laAAallahum yarjiAAoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa maa nureehim min aayatin illaa hiya akbaru min ukhtihaa wa akhaznaahum bil'azaabi la'allahum yarji'oon |
| English (Pickthall) | And every token that We showed them was greater than its sister (token), and We grasped them with the torment, that haply they might turn again. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | We showed them Sign after Sign, each greater than its fellow, and We seized them with Punishment, in order that they might turn (to Us). |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And We showed them not a sign except that it was greater than its sister, and We seized them with affliction that perhaps they might return [to faith]. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | I showed Pharaoh and his leaders proof after proof to establish the authenticity of Moses’ message, each proof was greater in magnitude than the previous one. I seized them with the punishment in the world, in the hope that they turn away from the disbelief they were in, but to no avail. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और हम उन्हें जो निशानी भी दिखाते वह अपने प्रकार की पहली निशानी से बढ़-चढ़कर होती और हमने उन्हें यातना से ग्रस्त कर लिया, ताकि वे रुजू करें |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और हम जो मौजिज़ा उन को दिखाते थे वह दूसरे से बढ़ कर होता था और आख़िर हमने उनको अज़ाब में गिरफ्तार किया ताकि ये लोग बाज़ आएँ |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और हम फ़िरऔन तथा उसकी जाति के प्रमुखों को, मूसा अलैहिस्सलाम के लाए हुए धर्म के सही होने की जो भी निशानी दिखाते, वह उससे पहले की निशानी से बढ़कर होती थी। और हमने उन्हें दुनिया में यातना से ग्रस्त किया, ताकि वे अपने कुफ़्र से बाज़ आ जाएँ। लेकिन इसका कोई फ़ायदा न हुआ। |

| عَرَبِي | وَقالوا يا أَيُّهَ السّاحِرُ ادعُ لَنا رَبَّكَ بِما عَهِدَ عِندَكَ إِنَّنا لَمُهتَدونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waqaloo ya ayyuha alsahiru odAAu lana rabbaka bima AAahida AAindaka innana lamuhtadoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa qaaloo yaaa ayyuhas saahirud'u lanaa Rabbaka bimaa 'ahida 'indaka innanaa lamuhtadoon |
| English (Pickthall) | And they said: O wizard! Entreat thy Lord for us by the pact that He hath made with thee. Lo! we verily will walk aright. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And they said, "O thou sorcerer! Invoke thy Lord for us according to His covenant with thee; for we shall truly accept guidance." |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And they said [to Moses], "O magician, invoke for us your Lord by what He has promised you. Indeed, we will be guided." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | So when some of the punishment came upon them, they said to Moses (peace be upon him), “O sorcerer! Pray to your Lord for us asking Him to remove this punishment just as He said He would if we believed. If it is removed from us, we will be guided to the truth.” |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | जब उन्हें कुछ यातना का सामना हुआ, तो उन्होंने मूसा अलैहिस्सलाम से कहा : ऐ जादूगर! अपने पालनहार से हमारे लिए उसके द्वारा दुआ कर, जो उसने तुझे बताया है कि हमारे ईमान लाने पर वह यातना हटा देगा। अगर वह हमसे यातना हटा देता है, तो हम अवश्य उसकी राह पर चल पड़ेंगे। |

| عَرَبِي | فَلَمّا كَشَفنا عَنهُمُ العَذابَ إِذا هُم يَنكُثونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Falamma kashafna AAanhumu alAAathaba itha hum yankuthoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Falammaa kashafnaa 'anhumul 'azaaba izaa hum yankusoon |
| English (Pickthall) | But when We eased them of the torment, behold! they broke their word. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | But when We removed the Penalty from them, behold, they broke their word. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | But when We removed from them the affliction, at once they broke their word. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Then, when I removed the punishment from them, they began breaking their covenant and not fulfilling it. |

| Ayah 51 |
| عَرَبِي | وَنادىٰ فِرعَونُ في قَومِهِ قالَ يا قَومِ أَلَيسَ لي مُلكُ مِصرَ وَهٰذِهِ الأَنهارُ تَجري مِن تَحتي ۖ أَفَلا تُبصِرونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wanada firAAawnu fee qawmihi qala ya qawmi alaysa lee mulku misra wahathihi alanharu tajree min tahtee afala tubsiroona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa naadaa Fir'awnu fee qawmihee qaala yaa qawmi alaisa lee mulku Misra wa haazihil anhaaru tajree min tahtee afalaa tubsiroon |
| English (Pickthall) | And Pharaoh caused a proclamation to be made among his people saying: O my people! Is not mine the sovereignty of Egypt and these rivers flowing under me? Can ye not then discern? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And Pharaoh proclaimed among his people, saying: "O my people! Does not the dominion of Egypt belong to me, (witness) these streams flowing underneath my (palace)? What! see ye not then? |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और फ़िरऔन ने अपने राज्य पर गर्व करते हुए अपनी जाति के बीच पुकारते हुए कहा : ऐ मेरी जाति के लोगो! क्या मिस्र का राज्य मेरा नहीं है और नील नदी से निकलने वाली ये नहरें मेरे महलों के नीचे नहीं बहती हैं? क्या तुम मेरे राज्य को नहीं देखते और मेरी महानता को नहीं पहचानते?! |

| عَرَبِي | أَم أَنا خَيرٌ مِن هٰذَا الَّذي هُوَ مَهينٌ وَلا يَكادُ يُبينُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Am ana khayrun min hatha allathee huwa maheenun wala yakadu yubeenu |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Am ana khairum min haazal lazee huwa maheenunw wa laa yuakaadu yubeen |
| English (Pickthall) | I am surely better than this fellow, who is despicable and can hardly make (his meaning) plain! |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | "Am I not better than this (Moses), who is a contemptible wretch and can scarcely express himself clearly? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Or am I [not] better than this one who is insignificant and hardly makes himself clear? |

| عَرَبِي | فَلَولا أُلقِيَ عَلَيهِ أَسوِرَةٌ مِن ذَهَبٍ أَو جاءَ مَعَهُ المَلائِكَةُ مُقتَرِنينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Falawla olqiya AAalayhi aswiratun min thahabin aw jaa maAAahu almalaikatu muqtarineena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Falaw laa ulqiya 'alaihi aswiratum min zahabin awjaaa'a ma'ahul malaaa'ikatu muqtarineen |
| English (Pickthall) | Why, then, have armlets of gold not been set upon him, or angels sent along with him? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | "Then why are not gold bracelets bestowed on him, or (why) come (not) with him angels accompanying him in procession?" |

| عَرَبِي | فَاستَخَفَّ قَومَهُ فَأَطاعوهُ ۚ إِنَّهُم كانوا قَومًا فاسِقينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faistakhaffa qawmahu faataAAoohu innahum kanoo qawman fasiqeena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fastakhaffa qawmahoo fa ataa'ooh; innahum kaanoo qawman faasiqeen |
| English (Pickthall) | Thus he persuaded his people to make light (of Moses), and they obeyed him. Lo! they were a wanton folk. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Thus did he make fools of his people, and they obeyed him: truly were they a people rebellious (against Allah). |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | So he bluffed his people, and they obeyed him. Indeed, they were [themselves] a people defiantly disobedient [of Allah]. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | इस तरह फ़िरऔन ने अपनी जाति के लोगों को बहकाया और उन्होंने उसकी गुमराही में उसका पालन किया। निःसंदेह वे अल्लाह की आज्ञाकारिता से निकले हुए लोग थे। |

| عَرَبِي | فَلَمّا آسَفونَا انتَقَمنا مِنهُم فَأَغرَقناهُم أَجمَعينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Falamma asafoona intaqamna minhum faaghraqnahum ajmaAAeena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Falammaaa aasafoonan taqamnaa minhum fa aghraqnaahum ajma'een |
| English (Pickthall) | So, when they angered Us, We punished them and drowned them every one. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | When at length they provoked Us, We exacted retribution from them, and We drowned them all. |

| Ayah 56 |
| عَرَبِي | فَجَعَلناهُم سَلَفًا وَمَثَلًا لِلآخِرينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | FajaAAalnahum salafan wamathalan lilakhireena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Faja'alnaahum salafanw wa masalal lil aakhireen |
| English (Pickthall) | And We made them a thing past, and an example for those after (them). |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And We made them (a people) of the Past and an Example to later ages. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And We made them a precedent and an example for the later peoples. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | So I made Pharaoh and his people an example for those who did actions like theirs, that they would perish just like they did. I also made them a lesson for those who take heed; so that they do not do the same actions as theirs and are then afflicted with whatever came upon them. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तो हमने फ़िरऔन और उसकी जाति के प्रमुखों को लोगों के लिए अग्रगामी बना दिया और आपकी जाति के काफ़िर उन्हीं के पदचिह्नों पर चल रहे हैं। तथा हमने उन्हें सीख लेने वाले के लिए शिक्षाप्रद उदाहरण बना दिया, ताकि वह उन्हीं जैसा कर्म करके उन्हीं के अंजाम को न पहुँचे। |

| عَرَبِي | ۞ وَلَمّا ضُرِبَ ابنُ مَريَمَ مَثَلًا إِذا قَومُكَ مِنهُ يَصِدّونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Walamma duriba ibnu maryama mathalan itha qawmuka minhu yasiddoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa lammaa duribab nu Maryama masalan izaa qawmu ka minhu yasidoon |
| English (Pickthall) | And when the son of Mary is quoted as an example, behold! the folk laugh out, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | When (Jesus) the son of Mary is held up as an example, behold, thy people raise a clamour thereat (in ridicule)! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And when the son of Mary was presented as an example, immediately your people laughed aloud. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | When the idolaters thought that the Jesus the Christians worshipped was included in the statement of Allah the Exalted: {Indeed, you [disbelievers] and what you worship other than Allah are the firewood of Hell. You will be coming to [enter] it}, and Allah had prohibited worshipping him just like He had prohibited the worship of idols, your people, O Messenger, began persisting in argument, saying, “We are pleased that our idols are of the same status as Jesus.” So Allah revealed, refuting them, {Indeed, those for whom the best [reward] has preceded from Me - they are from it far removed}. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | जब मुश्रिकों ने यह समझा कि ईसा अलैहिस्सलाम, जिनकी ईसाई पूजा करते हैं, अल्लाह के फरमान : (إِنَّكُمْ وَمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ حَصَبُ جَهَنَّمَ أَنْتُمْ لَهَا وَارِدُونَ) ''निःसंदेह तुम और जिन्हें तुम अल्लाह के सिवा पूजते हो, सब नरक का ईंधन बनेंगे, तुम उसमें प्रवेश करने वाले हो।'' (सूरतुल अंबिया : 98) में दाखिल हैं, तथा अल्लाह ने ईसा अलैहिस्सलाम की पूजा करने से वैसे ही रोका है, जैसे मूर्तियों की पूजा से रोका है, तो अचानक (ऐ रसूल!) आपकी जाति के लोग खुशी से शोर मचाने लगे और कहने लगे : हम इस बात से संतुष्ट हैं कि हमारे देवता ईसा (अलैहिस्सलाम) की तरह हैं। इसपर अल्लाह ने उनके जवाब में यह आयत उतारी : (إِنَّ الَّذِينَ سَبَقَتْ لَهُمْ مِنَّا الْحُسْنَى أُولَئِكَ عَنْهَا مُبْعَدُونَ) ''निःसंदेह जिनके के लिए हमारी ओर से पहले भलाई निर्धारित हो चुकी है, वे उस (नरक) से दूर रखे जाएँगे।'' (सूरतुल अंबिया : 101). |
| Ayah 58 |
| عَرَبِي | وَقالوا أَآلِهَتُنا خَيرٌ أَم هُوَ ۚ ما ضَرَبوهُ لَكَ إِلّا جَدَلًا ۚ بَل هُم قَومٌ خَصِمونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waqaloo aalihatuna khayrun am huwa ma daraboohu laka illa jadalan bal hum qawmun khasimoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa qaalooo 'a-aalihatunaa khairun am hoo; maa daraboohu laka illaa jadalaa; balhum qawmun khasimoon |
| English (Pickthall) | And say: Are our gods better, or is he? They raise not the objection save for argument. Nay! but they are a contentious folk. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And they say, "Are our gods best, or he?" This they set forth to thee, only by way of disputation: yea, they are a contentious people. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And they said, "Are your gods better, or is he?" They did not present the comparison except for [mere] argument. But, [in fact], they are a people prone to dispute. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And they say, “Are our deities better or is Jesus better?” Ibn Al-Ziba‘rā and others did not draw up this comparison in love of hope in reaching the truth, rather in love of argumentation. They are a nation quarrelsome in nature. |

| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और बोल उठे कि भला हमारे माबूद अच्छे हैं या वह (ईसा) उन लोगों ने जो ईसा की मिसाल तुमसे बयान की है तो सिर्फ झगड़ने को |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और उन्होंने कहा : क्या हमारे पूज्य बेहतर हैं या ईसा?! ज़िबा'रा के पुत्र और उस जैसे लोगों ने यह उदाहरण सत्य तक पहुँचने के लिए नहीं दिया है, बल्कि बहस करने और झगड़ने के लिए दिया है। क्योंकि वे ऐसे लोग हैं कि झगड़ना उनके स्वभाव में दाखिल है। |

| عَرَبِي | إِن هُوَ إِلّا عَبدٌ أَنعَمنا عَلَيهِ وَجَعَلناهُ مَثَلًا لِبَني إِسرائيلَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | In huwa illa AAabdun anAAamna AAalayhi wajaAAalnahu mathalan libanee israeela |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | In huwa illaa 'abdun an'amnaa 'alaihi wa ja'alnaahu masalal li Baneee Israaa'eel |
| English (Pickthall) | He is nothing but a slave on whom We bestowed favour, and We made him a pattern for the Children of Israel. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | He was no more than a servant: We granted Our favour to him, and We made him an example to the Children of Israel. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Jesus was not but a servant upon whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the Children of Israel. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Jesus, the son of Mary is nothing but a servant from the servants of Allah whom He favoured with messengership and made him an example for the Israelites. They can use him as proof of the power of Allah because He created him without a father, just like He created Adam without parents. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | मर्यम का पुत्र ईसा केवल अल्लाह का एक बंदा है, जिसे हमने नबी और रसूल बनाया। तथा हमने उसे बनी इसराईल के लिए एक उदाहरण बना दिया, जिससे वे अल्लाह की शक्ति का अनुमान लगाते हैं कि उसने ईसा अलैहिस्सलाम को बिना पिता के बनाया, जिस तरह कि आदम अलैहिस्सलाम को बिना माता-पिता के बनाया था। |
| Ayah 60 |
| عَرَبِي | وَلَو نَشاءُ لَجَعَلنا مِنكُم مَلائِكَةً فِي الأَرضِ يَخلُفونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Walaw nashao lajaAAalna minkum malaikatan fee alardi yakhlufoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa law nashaaa'u laja'alnaa minkum malaaa'ikatan fil ardi yakhlufoon |
| English (Pickthall) | And had We willed We could have set among you angels to be viceroys in the earth. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And if it were Our Will, We could make angels from amongst you, succeeding each other on the earth. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And if We willed, We could have made [instead] of you angels succeeding [one another] on the earth. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O children of Adam! If I wish to destroy you and make the angels succeed you on earth in your place, they would worship Me and not ascribe partners with me at all. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और यदि हम चाहते हो तुममें से फ़रिश्ते पैदा कर देते, जो धरती में उत्ताराधिकारी होते |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और अगर हम चाहते तो तुम ही लोगों में से (किसी को) फ़रिश्ते बना देते जो तुम्हारी जगह ज़मीन में रहते |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और अगर हम (ऐ आदम की संतान!) तुम्हें नष्ट करना चाहें, तो अवश्य तुम्हें नष्ट कर दें और तुम्हारे स्थान पर फ़रिश्तों को ले आएँ, जो धरती में तुम्हारे उत्तराधिकारी बनें। वे अल्लाह की इबादत करें और उसके साथ किसी को साझी न करें। |
| Ayah 61 |
| عَرَبِي | وَإِنَّهُ لَعِلمٌ لِلسّاعَةِ فَلا تَمتَرُنَّ بِها وَاتَّبِعونِ ۚ هٰذا صِراطٌ مُستَقيمٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wainnahu laAAilmun lilssaAAati fala tamtarunna biha waittabiAAooni hatha siratun mustaqeemun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa innahoo la'ilmul lis Saa'ati fala tamtarunna bihaa wattabi'oon; haazaa Siraatum Mustaqeem |
| English (Pickthall) | And lo! verily there is knowledge of the Hour. So doubt ye not concerning it, but follow Me. This is the right path. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And (Jesus) shall be a Sign (for the coming of) the Hour (of Judgment): therefore have no doubt about the (Hour), but follow ye Me: this is a Straight Way. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And indeed, Jesus will be [a sign for] knowledge of the Hour, so be not in doubt of it, and follow Me. This is a straight path. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Indeed, Jesus is a sign from the major signs of the Hour, when he shall descend towards the end of time. So do not doubt the Hour’s occurrence and follow me in whatever I have brought to you from Allah. This thing I have brought is the straight path in which there is no deviance. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | निश्चय ही वह उस घड़ी (जिसका वादा किया गया है) के ज्ञान का साधन है। अतः तुम उसके बारे में संदेह न करो और मेरा अनुसरण करो। यही सीधा मार्ग है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और वह तो यक़ीनन क़यामत की एक रौशन दलील है तुम लोग इसमें हरगिज़ यक़ न करो और मेरी पैरवी करो यही सीधा रास्ता है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | ईसा अलैहिस्सलाम का आख़िरी ज़माने में उतरना क़ियामत की बड़ी निशानियों में से एक निशानी है। अतः तुम क़ियामत के आने के बारे में संदेह न करो, तथा मैं अल्लाह की ओर से तुम्हारे पास जो कुछ लेकर आया हूँ, उसमें मेरा अनुसरण करो। यह जो मैं तुम्हारे पास लेकर आया हूँ, वही सीधा मार्ग है जिसमें कोई टेढ़ापन नहीं है। |
| Ayah 62 |
| عَرَبِي | وَلا يَصُدَّنَّكُمُ الشَّيطانُ ۖ إِنَّهُ لَكُم عَدُوٌّ مُبينٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wala yasuddannakumu alshshaytanu innahu lakum AAaduwwun mubeenun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa laa yasuddan nakumush Shaitaanu innahoo lakum 'aduwwum mubeen |
| English (Pickthall) | And let not Satan turn you aside. Lo! he is an open enemy for you. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Let not the Evil One hinder you: for he is to you an enemy avowed. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And never let Satan avert you. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And let Satan not turn you away from the straight path through his lure and deception. Indeed, he is an enemy whose enmity is clear. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और शैतान तुम्हें रोक न दे, निश्चय ही वह तुम्हारा खुला शत्रु है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और (कहीं) शैतान तुम लोगों को (इससे) रोक न दे वही यक़ीनन तुम्हारा खुल्लम खुल्ला दुश्मन है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और शैतान तुम्हें बहकाकर और प्रलोभन देकर सीधे रास्ते से विचलित न कर दे। निःसंदेह वह तुम्हारा खुला दुश्मन है। |

| عَرَبِي | وَلَمّا جاءَ عيسىٰ بِالبَيِّناتِ قالَ قَد جِئتُكُم بِالحِكمَةِ وَلِأُبَيِّنَ لَكُم بَعضَ الَّذي تَختَلِفونَ فيهِ ۖ فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطيعونِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Walamma jaa AAeesa bialbayyinati qala qad jitukum bialhikmati waliobayyina lakum baAAda allathee takhtalifoona feehi faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa lammaa jaaa'a 'Eesaa bilbaiyinaati qaala qad ji'tukum bil Hikmati wa li-ubaiyina lakum ba'dal lazee takhtalifoona feehi fattaqul laaha wa atee'oon |
| English (Pickthall) | When Jesus came with clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty), he said: I have come unto you with wisdom, and to make plain some of that concerning which ye differ. So keep your duty to Allah, and obey me. |

| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और जब ईसा वाज़ेए व रौशन मौजिज़े लेकर आये तो (लोगों से) कहा मैं तुम्हारे पास दानाई (की किताब) लेकर आया हूँ ताकि बाज़ बातें जिन में तुम लोग एख्तेलाफ करते थे तुमको साफ-साफ बता दूँ तो तुम लोग ख़ुदा से डरो और मेरा कहा मानो |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | जब ईसा अलैहिस्सलाम अपनी जाति के पास अपने रसूल होने के सपष्ट प्रमाण लेकर आए, तो उनसे कहा : मैं तुम्हारे पास अल्लाह की ओर से हिकमत लेकर आया हुँ और (इसलिए भी) ताकि मैं तुम्हारे लिए तुम्हारे धर्म की कुछ उन बातों को स्पष्ट कर दूँ, जिनमें तुम मतभेद करते हो। अतः तुम अल्लाह से, उसके आदेशों का पालन करके और उसकी मना की हुई बातों से बचकर, डरो और उन बातों में मेरा अनुसरण करो, जिनका मैं तुम्हें आदेश दूँ और जिनसे मैं तुम्हें मना करूँ। |
| Ayah 64 |
| عَرَبِي | إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ رَبّي وَرَبُّكُم فَاعبُدوهُ ۚ هٰذا صِراطٌ مُستَقيمٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Inna Allaha huwa rabbee warabbukum faoAAbudoohu hatha siratun mustaqeemun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Innal laaha Huwa Rabbee wa Rabbukum fa'budooh; haaza Siraatum Mustaqeem |
| English (Pickthall) | Lo! Allah, He is my Lord and your Lord. So worship Him. This is a right path. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | निःसंदेह अल्लाह ही मेरा पालनहार और तुम्हारा पालनहार है, उसके सिवा हमारा कोई पालनहार नहीं है। अतः केवल उसी की इबादत करो। और यह एकेश्वरवाद (तौहीद) ही वह सीधा रास्ता है, जिसमें कोई टेढ़ापन नहीं है। |
| Ayah 65 |
| عَرَبِي | فَاختَلَفَ الأَحزابُ مِن بَينِهِم ۖ فَوَيلٌ لِلَّذينَ ظَلَموا مِن عَذابِ يَومٍ أَليمٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faikhtalafa alahzabu min baynihim fawaylun lillatheena thalamoo min AAathabi yawmin aleemin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fakhtalafal ahzaabu mim bainihim fawailul lillazeena zalamoo min 'azaabi Yawmin aleem |
| English (Pickthall) | But the factions among them differed. Then woe unto those who do wrong from the doom of a painful day. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | But sects from among themselves fell into disagreement: then woe to the wrong-doers, from the Penalty of a Grievous Day! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | But the denominations from among them differed [and separated], so woe to those who have wronged from the punishment of a painful Day. |

Some of them say, “He is a god”, and some say, “He is the son of God”, and others say, “He and his mother are both gods”, so woe be to those who oppress themselves by attributing godhood to Jesus, or sonship, or saying that he is one of the Trinity! Woe be to them from a painful punishment that awaits them on the Day of Judgement. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | फिर ईसाइयों के समूहों ने ईसा अलैहिस्सलाम के बारे में परस्पर मतभेद किया; चुनाँचे उनमें से कुछ का कहना है कि वह पूज्य हैं, तथा कुछ का कहना है कि वह अल्लाह के बेटे हैं। जबकि उनमें से कुछ कहते हैं कि वह और उनकी माँ दोनों पूज्य हैं। तो जिन लोगों ने (ईसा अलैहिस्सलाम के बारे में पूज्य होने, या अल्लाह का बेटा होने या तीन पूज्यों में से तीसरा होने की बात कहकर) अपने ऊपर अत्याचार किया है, उनके लिए दुःखदायी यातना की ख़राबी है, जो क़ियामत के दिन उनकी प्रतीक्षा कर रही है। |

| عَرَبِي | هَل يَنظُرونَ إِلَّا السّاعَةَ أَن تَأتِيَهُم بَغتَةً وَهُم لا يَشعُرونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Hal yanthuroona illa alssaAAata an tatiyahum baghtatan wahum la yashAAuroona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Hal yanzuroona illas Saa'ata an taatiyahum baghtatanw wa hum laa yash'uroon |
| English (Pickthall) | Await they aught save the Hour, that it shall come upon them suddenly, when they know not? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Do they only wait for the Hour - that it should come on them all of a sudden, while they perceive not? |

| عَرَبِي | الأَخِلّاءُ يَومَئِذٍ بَعضُهُم لِبَعضٍ عَدُوٌّ إِلَّا المُتَّقينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Alakhillao yawmaithin baAAduhum libaAAdin AAaduwwun illa almuttaqeena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Al akhillaaa'u Yawma'izim ba'duhum liba'din 'aduwwun illal muttaqeen |
| English (Pickthall) | Friends on that day will be foes one to another, save those who kept their duty (to Allah). |

| عَرَبِي | يا عِبادِ لا خَوفٌ عَلَيكُمُ اليَومَ وَلا أَنتُم تَحزَنونَ |

| عَرَبِي | يُطافُ عَلَيهِم بِصِحافٍ مِن ذَهَبٍ وَأَكوابٍ ۖ وَفيها ما تَشتَهيهِ الأَنفُسُ وَتَلَذُّ الأَعيُنُ ۖ وَأَنتُم فيها خالِدونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Yutafu AAalayhim bisihafin min thahabin waakwabin wafeeha ma tashtaheehi alanfusu watalaththu alaAAyunu waantum feeha khalidoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Yutaafu 'alaihim bishaa fim min zahabinw wa akwaab, wa feehaa maatashtaheehil anfusu wa talazzul a'yunu wa antum feehaa khaalidoon |
| English (Pickthall) | Therein are brought round for them trays of gold and goblets, and therein is all that souls desire and eyes find sweet. And ye are immortal therein. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | To them will be passed round, dishes and goblets of gold: there will be there all that the souls could desire, all that their eyes could delight in: and ye shall abide therein (for eye). |

| Ayah 72 |
| عَرَبِي | وَتِلكَ الجَنَّةُ الَّتي أورِثتُموها بِما كُنتُم تَعمَلونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Watilka aljannatu allatee oorithtumooha bima kuntum taAAmaloona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa tilkal jannatul lateee ooristumoohaa bimaa kuntum ta'maloon |
| English (Pickthall) | This is the Garden which ye are made to inherit because of what ye used to do. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Such will be the Garden of which ye are made heirs for your (good) deeds (in life). |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And that is Paradise which you are made to inherit for what you used to do. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | That Paradise I have described for you is the one I have made you inherit because of your deeds, through My grace. |

| عَرَبِي | لَكُم فيها فاكِهَةٌ كَثيرَةٌ مِنها تَأكُلونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Lakum feeha fakihatun katheeratun minha takuloona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Lakum feehaa faakihatun kaseeratum minhaa taakuloon |
| English (Pickthall) | Therein for you is fruit in plenty whence to eat. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Ye shall have therein abundance of fruit, from which ye shall have satisfaction. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | For you therein is much fruit from which you will eat. |

| عَرَبِي | إِنَّ المُجرِمينَ في عَذابِ جَهَنَّمَ خالِدونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Inna almujrimeena fee AAathabi jahannama khalidoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Innal mujrimeena fee 'azaabi jahannama khaalidoon |
| English (Pickthall) | Lo! the guilty are immortal in hell's torment. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | The sinners will be in the Punishment of Hell, to dwell therein (for aye): |

| عَرَبِي | لا يُفَتَّرُ عَنهُم وَهُم فيهِ مُبلِسونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | La yufattaru AAanhum wahum feehi mublisoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Laa yufattaru 'anhum wa hum feehi mublisoon |
| English (Pickthall) | It is not relaxed for them, and they despair therein. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Nowise will the (Punishment) be lightened for them, and in despair will they be there overwhelmed. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | It will not be allowed to subside for them, and they, therein, are in despair. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | The punishment will not be lessened for them. They will lose all hope in the mercy of Allah in it. |

| Ayah 76 |
| عَرَبِي | وَما ظَلَمناهُم وَلٰكِن كانوا هُمُ الظّالِمينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wama thalamnahum walakin kanoo humu alththalimeena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa maa zalamnaahum wa laakin kaanoo humuz zaalimeen |
| English (Pickthall) | We wronged them not, but they it was who did the wrong. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Nowise shall We be unjust to them: but it is they who have been unjust themselves. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And We did not wrong them, but it was they who were the wrongdoers. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | I will not oppress them by entering them into the hellfire, rather they oppressed themselves by disbelieving. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | हमने उन्हें जहन्नम में दाखिल करके उनपर अत्याचार नहीं किया, बल्कि वे कुफ़्र करके स्वयं ही अपने आप पर अत्याचार करने वाले थे। |
| Ayah 77 |
| عَرَبِي | وَنادَوا يا مالِكُ لِيَقضِ عَلَينا رَبُّكَ ۖ قالَ إِنَّكُم ماكِثونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wanadaw ya maliku liyaqdi AAalayna rabbuka qala innakum makithoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa naadaw yaa Maaliku liyaqdi 'alainaa Rabbuka qaala innakum maakisson |
| English (Pickthall) | And they cry: O master! Let thy Lord make an end of us. He saith: Lo! here ye must remain. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | They will cry: "O Malik! would that thy Lord put an end to us!" He will say, "Nay, but ye shall abide!" |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And they will call, "O Malik, let your Lord put an end to us!" He will say, "Indeed, you will remain." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | They will call out to Mālik, the gatekeeper of the hellfire, saying: “O Mālik! Our Lord should make us die so that we are relieved of this punishment!” Mālik will answer them saying, “You are to remain forever in the punishment. You will not die, nor will the punishment stop from you.” |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | वे पुकारेंगे, "ऐ मालिक! तुम्हारा रब हमारा काम ही तमाम कर दे!" वह कहेगा, "तुम्हें तो इसी दशा में रहना है।" |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और (जहन्नुमी) पुकारेगें कि ऐ मालिक (दरोग़ा ए जहन्नुम कोई तरकीब करो) तुम्हारा परवरदिगार हमें मौत ही दे दे वह जवाब देगा कि तुमको इसी हाल में रहना है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | वे जहन्नम के दारोग़ा मालिक को पुकारकर कहेंगे : ऐ मालिक! तुम्हारा पालनहार हमें मृत्यु दे दे, ताकि हम यातना से आराम पा जाएँ। तो मालिक उन्हें जवाब देते हुए कहेगा : तुम सदैव यातना में रहने वाले हो, तुम्हारी मृत्यु नहीं होगी और न तुम्हारी यातना रुकेगी। |
| Ayah 78 |
| عَرَبِي | لَقَد جِئناكُم بِالحَقِّ وَلٰكِنَّ أَكثَرَكُم لِلحَقِّ كارِهونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Laqad jinakum bialhaqqi walakinna aktharakum lilhaqqi karihoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Laqad ji'naakum bilhaqqi wa laakinna aksarakum lilhaqqi kaarihoon |
| English (Pickthall) | We verily brought the Truth unto you, but ye were, most of you, averse to the Truth. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Verily We have brought the Truth to you: but most of you have a hatred for Truth. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | We had certainly brought you the truth, but most of you, to the truth, were averse. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Indeed, I brought the undisputed truth to you in the world, but the majority of you disliked the truth. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | "निश्चय ही हम तुम्हारे पास सत्य लेकर आए है, किन्तु तुममें से अधिकतर लोगों को सत्य प्रिय नहीं |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | (ऐ कुफ्फ़ार मक्का) हम तो तुम्हारे पास हक़ लेकर आयें हैं तुम मे से बहुत से हक़ (बात से चिढ़ते) हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | निश्चय ही हम दुनिया में तुम्हारे पास संदेहरहित सत्य लेकर आए थे, लेकिन तुममें से अधिकतर लोग सत्य को नापसंद करने वाले थे। |
| Ayah 79 |
| عَرَبِي | أَم أَبرَموا أَمرًا فَإِنّا مُبرِمونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Am abramoo amran fainna mubrimoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Am abramooo amran fainnaa mubrimoon |
| English (Pickthall) | Or do they determine any thing (against the Prophet)? Lo! We (also) are determining. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | What! have they settled some plan (among themselves)? But it is We Who settle things. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Or have they devised [some] affair? But indeed, We are devising [a plan]. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | So, if they plot against the Prophet (peace be upon him) and hatch an evil plan against him, I will indeed, hatch a plan against them which will be greater than theirs. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | (क्या उन्होंने कुछ निश्चय नहीं किया है) या उन्होंने किसी बात का निश्चय कर लिया है? अच्छा तो हमने भी निश्चय कर लिया है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | क्या उन लोगों ने कोई बात ठान ली है हमने भी (कुछ ठान लिया है) |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | यदि वे नबी सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि व सल्लम के साथ कोई चाल चलते हैं और आपके विरुद्ध कोई षड्यंत्र करते हैं, तो हम उनके लिए उनके षड्यंत्र से बढ़कर उपाय करने वाले हैं। |
| Ayah 80 |
| عَرَبِي | أَم يَحسَبونَ أَنّا لا نَسمَعُ سِرَّهُم وَنَجواهُم ۚ بَلىٰ وَرُسُلُنا لَدَيهِم يَكتُبونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Am yahsaboona anna la nasmaAAu sirrahum wanajwahum bala warusuluna ladayhim yaktuboona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Am yahsaboona annaa laa nasma'u sirrahum wa najwaahum; balaa wa Rusulunaa ladaihim yaktuboon |
| English (Pickthall) | Or deem they that We cannot hear their secret thoughts and private confidences? Nay, but Our envoys, present with them, do record. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Or do they think that We hear not their secrets and their private counsels? Indeed (We do), and Our messengers are by them, to record. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Or do they think that We hear not their secrets and their private conversations? Yes, [We do], and Our messengers are with them recording. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Or, do they think that I do not hear their secrets that they hide within their hearts, or those that they whisper to one another? Nay! I hear them all, and the angels with them write everything they do. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | या वे समझते है कि हम उनकी छिपी बात और उनकी कानाफूसी को सुनते नही? क्यों नहीं, और हमारे भेजे हुए (फ़रिश्ते) उनके समीप हैं, वे लिखते रहते है।" |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | क्या ये लोग कुछ समझते हैं कि हम उनके भेद और उनकी सरग़ोशियों को नहीं सुनते हॉ (ज़रूर सुनते हैं) और हमारे फ़रिश्ते उनके पास हैं और उनकी सब बातें लिखते जाते हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | क्या वे समझ्ते हैं कि हम उनकी छिपी बात (भेद) को जो उन्होंने अपने दिलों में छिपा रखी है या उनकी कानाफूसी को जो वे एक-दूसरे से करते हैं, नहीं सुनते हैं? क्यों नहीं, हम उनकी सारी बातें सुनते हैं और उनके साथ नियुक्त फ़रिश्ते उनके प्रत्येक कार्य को लिखते रहते हैं। |
| Ayah 81 |
| عَرَبِي | قُل إِن كانَ لِلرَّحمٰنِ وَلَدٌ فَأَنا أَوَّلُ العابِدينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Qul in kana lilrrahmani waladun faana awwalu alAAabideena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Qul in kaana lir Rahmaani walad; fa-ana awwalul 'aabideen |
| English (Pickthall) | Say (O Muhammad): If the Beneficent One hath a son, then, I shall be first among the worshippers. (But there is no son). |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Say: "If (Allah) Most Gracious had a son, I would be the first to worship." |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Say, [O Muhammad], "If the Most Merciful had a son, then I would be the first of [his] worshippers." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O Messenger! Say to those who attribute daughters to Allah, who is exalted greatly from their statement: “If, hypothetically, Allah had a child, then I would be the first to worship that child.” |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | (ऐ रसूल!) आप उन लोगों से, जो अल्लाह की ओर बेटियों की निस्बत करते हैं, (अल्लाह उनकी इस बात से बहुत ऊँचा है) कह दें : अल्लाह की कोई संतान नहीं है; अल्लाह इससे बहुत पाक एवं पवित्र है। मैं तो अल्लाह की सबसे पहले इबादत करने वाला तथा उसकी पवित्रता बयान करने वाला हूँ। |

| عَرَبِي | سُبحانَ رَبِّ السَّماواتِ وَالأَرضِ رَبِّ العَرشِ عَمّا يَصِفونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Subhana rabbi alssamawati waalardi rabbi alAAarshi AAamma yasifoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Subhaana Rabbis samaawaati wal ardi Rabbil Arshi 'ammaa yasifoon |
| English (Pickthall) | Glorified be the Lord of the heavens and the earth, the Lord of the Throne, from that which they ascribe (unto Him)! |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Glory to the Lord of the heavens and the earth, the Lord of the Throne (of Authority)! (He is free) from the things they attribute (to him)! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Exalted is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, Lord of the Throne, above what they describe. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | The Lord of the heavens, the earth and the Throne is pure of the statements of attributing partners, wives and children of these idolaters. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | आकाशों और धरती का रब तथा अर्श (सिंहासन) का स्वामी उससे पवित्र है, जो ये मुश्रिक (बहुदेववादी) लोग उसकी ओर साझी, पत्नी और संतान की निस्बत करते हैं। |
| Ayah 83 |
| عَرَبِي | فَذَرهُم يَخوضوا وَيَلعَبوا حَتّىٰ يُلاقوا يَومَهُمُ الَّذي يوعَدونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fatharhum yakhoodoo wayalAAaboo hatta yulaqoo yawmahumu allathee yooAAadoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fazarhum yakhoodoo wa yal'aboo hattaa yulaaqoo Yawmahumul lazee yoo'adoon |
| English (Pickthall) | So let them flounder (in their talk) and play until they meet the Day which they are promised. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | So leave them to babble and play (with vanities) until they meet that Day of theirs, which they have been promised. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | So leave them to converse vainly and amuse themselves until they meet their Day which they are promised. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | So O Messenger! Leave them to continue in whatever falsehood they are engrossed in, and let them enjoy until they meet the day which they have been promised. They will soon know the outcome of their actions and regret it. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अच्छा, छोड़ो उन्हें कि वे व्यर्थ की बहस में पड़े रहे और खेलों में लगे रहें। यहाँ तक कि उनकी भेंट अपने उस दिन से हो जिसका वादा उनसे किया जाता है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो तुम उन्हें छोड़ दो कि पड़े बक बक करते और खेलते रहते हैं यहाँ तक कि जिस दिन का उनसे वायदा किया जाता है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अतः (ऐ रसूल!) आप उन्हें छोड़ दें कि वे अपनी झूठ और व्यर्थ की बहसों में पड़े रहें और खेलते रहें, यहाँ तक कि उनका सामना उस दिन से हो जाए, जिसका उनसे वादा किया जा रहा है और वह क़ियामत का दिन है। |
| Ayah 84 |
| عَرَبِي | وَهُوَ الَّذي فِي السَّماءِ إِلٰهٌ وَفِي الأَرضِ إِلٰهٌ ۚ وَهُوَ الحَكيمُ العَليمُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wahuwa allathee fee alssamai ilahun wafee alardi ilahun wahuwa alhakeemu alAAaleemu |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa Huwal lazee fissamaaa'i Ilaahunw wa fil ardi Ilaah; wa Huwal Hakeemul'Aleem |
| English (Pickthall) | And He it is Who in the heaven is Allah, and in the earth Allah. He is the Wise, the Knower. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | It is He Who is Allah in heaven and Allah on earth; and He is full of Wisdom and Knowledge. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And it is Allah who is [the only] deity in the heaven, and on the earth [the only] deity. And He is the Wise, the Knowing. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | He (may He be glorified) is the true deity in the heavens and the true deity on earth. And He is the Wise in His creation, decree and management, and Knower of the conditions of His servants. None of them are hidden from Him. |

| हिन्दी (Suhail) | उनके सामने आ मौजूद हो और आसमान में भी (उसी की इबादत की जाती है और वही ज़मीन में भी माबूद है और वही वाकिफ़कार हिकमत वाला है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और वही पवित्र अल्लाह आकाश में सत्य पूज्य है और वही धरती में भी सत्य पूज्य है। तथा वह अपनी रचना, तक़दीर (नियति) और प्रबंधन में पूर्ण हिकमत वाला, तथा अपने बंदों की स्थितियों से अवगत है। उससे उनमें से कुछ भी छिपा नहीं है। |
| Ayah 85 |
| عَرَبِي | وَتَبارَكَ الَّذي لَهُ مُلكُ السَّماواتِ وَالأَرضِ وَما بَينَهُما وَعِندَهُ عِلمُ السّاعَةِ وَإِلَيهِ تُرجَعونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Watabaraka allathee lahu mulku alssamawati waalardi wama baynahuma waAAindahu AAilmu alssaAAati wailayhi turjaAAoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa tabaarakal lazee lahoo mulkus samaawaati wal ardi wa maa bainahumaa wa 'indahoo 'ilmus Saa'ati wa ilaihi turja'oon |
| English (Pickthall) | And blessed be He unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, and with Whom is knowledge of the Hour, and unto Whom ye will be returned. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And blessed is He to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all between them: with Him is the Knowledge of the Hour (of Judgment): and to Him shall ye be brought back. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And blessed is He to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them and with whom is knowledge of the Hour and to whom you will be returned. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Allah’s goodness and blessings continue to increase - (may He be glorified). To Him alone belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and whatever lies between them. And with Him alone is the knowledge of the Hour in which the Day of Judgement will occur; no one else knows it. And to Him alone will you all return in the afterlife for accountability and requital. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | बड़ी ही बरकतवाली है वह सत्ता, जिसके अधिकार में है आकाशों और धरती की बादशाही और जो कुछ उन दिनों के बीच है उसकी भी। और उसी के पास उस घड़ी का ज्ञान है, और उसी की ओर तुम लौटाए जाओगे। |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और वही बहुत बाबरकत है जिसके लिए सारे आसमान व ज़मीन और दोनों के दरमियान की हुक़ुमत है और क़यामत की ख़बर भी उसी को है और तुम लोग उसकी तरफ लौटाए जाओगे |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | बड़ी भलाई तथा बरकत वाला है वह पवित्र अल्लाह, जिस अकेले के पास ही आकाशों का राज्य, धरती का राज्य तथा उन दोनों के बीच की सारी चीज़ों का राज्य है। तथा अकेले उसी के पास उस घड़ी का ज्ञान है, जिसमें क़ियामत क़ायम होगी, उसे उसके सिवा कोई नहीं जानता। और तुम आख़िरत में हिसाब और बदले के लिए अकेले उसी की ओर लौटाए जाओगे। |
| Ayah 86 |
| عَرَبِي | وَلا يَملِكُ الَّذينَ يَدعونَ مِن دونِهِ الشَّفاعَةَ إِلّا مَن شَهِدَ بِالحَقِّ وَهُم يَعلَمونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wala yamliku allatheena yadAAoona min doonihi alshshafaAAata illa man shahida bialhaqqi wahum yaAAlamoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa laa yamlikul lazeena yad'oona min doonihish shafaa'ata illaa man shahida bilhaqqi wa hum ya'lamoon |
| English (Pickthall) | And those unto whom they cry instead of Him possess no power of intercession, saving him who beareth witness unto the Truth knowingly. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And those whom they invoke besides Allah have no power of intercession;- only he who bears witness to the Truth, and they know (him). |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And those they invoke besides Him do not possess [power of] intercession; but only those who testify to the truth [can benefit], and they know. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Those deities that the idolaters worship instead of Allah are not able to intercede in front of Allah, except those that testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah whilst understanding their testimony, i.e. Jesus, Ezra and the angels. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और जिन्हें वे उसके और अपने बीच माध्यम ठहराकर पुकारते है, उन्हें सिफ़ारिश का कुछ भी अधिकार नहीं, बस उसे ही यह अधिकार प्राप्त, है जो हक की गवाही दे, और ऐसे लोग जानते है।- |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और ख़ुदा के सिवा जिनकी ये लोग इबादत करतें हैं वह तो सिफारिश का भी एख्तेयार नहीं रख़ते मगर (हॉ) जो लोग समझ बूझ कर हक़ बात (तौहीद) की गवाही दें (तो खैर) |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और वे लोग, जिन्हें ये मुश्रिक अल्लाह को छोड़कर पूजते हैं, अल्लाह के निकट सिफ़ारिश का अधिकार नहीं रखते। अधिकार केवल वही रखता है, जो इस बात की गवाही दे कि अल्लाह के सिवा कोई सत्य पूज्य नहीं और वह उस बात को जानता हो, जिसकी उसने गवाही दी है; जैसे कि ईसा, उज़ैर और फ़रिश्ते। |
| Ayah 87 |
| عَرَبِي | وَلَئِن سَأَلتَهُم مَن خَلَقَهُم لَيَقولُنَّ اللَّهُ ۖ فَأَنّىٰ يُؤفَكونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Walain saaltahum man khalaqahum layaqoolunna Allahu faanna yufakoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa la'in sa altahum man khalaqahum la yaqoolun nallaahu fa annaa yu'fakoon |
| English (Pickthall) | And if thou ask them who created them, they will surely say: Allah. How then are they turned away? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | If thou ask them, who created them, they will certainly say, Allah: How then are they deluded away (from the Truth)? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And if you asked them who created them, they would surely say, "Allah." So how are they deluded? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And if you ask them, “Who created you?” they would definitely say, “Allah created us”, so how can they then turn away from His worship after this acknowledgement? |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | यदि तुम उनसे पूछो कि "उन्हें किसने पैदा किया?" तो वे अवश्य कहेंगे, "अल्लाह ने।" तो फिर वे कहाँ उलटे फिर जाते है?- |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और अगर तुम उनसे पूछोगे कि उनको किसने पैदा किया तो ज़रूर कह देगें कि अल्लाह ने फिर (बावजूद इसके) ये कहाँ बहके जा रहे हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | यदि आप उनसे पूछें कि उन्हें किसने पैदा किया है? तो वे अवश्य कहेंगे : हमें अल्लाह ने पैदा किया है। फिर इस स्वीकृति के बाद वे उसकी इबादत से कैसे फेर दिए जाते हैं?! |
| Ayah 88 |
| عَرَبِي | وَقيلِهِ يا رَبِّ إِنَّ هٰؤُلاءِ قَومٌ لا يُؤمِنونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waqeelihi yarabbi inna haolai qawmun la yuminoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa qeelihee yaa Rabbi inna haa'ulaaa'i qawmul laa yu'minoon |
| English (Pickthall) | And he saith: O my Lord! Lo! these are a folk who believe not. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | (Allah has knowledge) of the (Prophet's) cry, "O my Lord! Truly these are people who will not believe!" |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And [Allah acknowledges] his saying, "O my Lord, indeed these are a people who do not believe." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | With Allah (may He be glorified) is the knowledge of the complaint of His Messenger when they rejected him, and his statement regarding them: “O my Lord! Indeed, these people are a nation that does not believe in what you sent me to take to them.” |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और उसका कहना हो कि "ऐ मेरे रब! निश्चय ही ये वे लोग है, जो ईमान नहीं रखते थे।" |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और (उसी को) रसूल के उस क़ौल का भी इल्म है कि परवरदिगार ये लोग हरगिज़ ईमान न लाएँगे |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अल्लाह महिमावान को अपने रसूल की इस शिकायत का ज्ञान है कि उसकी जाति ने उसे झुठलाया है और उसमें उनका कहना है कि : ऐ मेरे पालनहार! ये ऐसे लोग हैं, जो उसपर ईमान लाने वाले नहीं हैं, जिसके साथ तूने मुझे उनकी ओर भेजा है। |
| Ayah 89 |
| عَرَبِي | فَاصفَح عَنهُم وَقُل سَلامٌ ۚ فَسَوفَ يَعلَمونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faisfah AAanhum waqul salamun fasawfa yaAAlamoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fasfah 'anhum wa qul salaam; fasawfa ya'lamoon |
| English (Pickthall) | Then bear with them (O Muhammad) and say: Peace. But they will come to know. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | But turn away from them, and say "Peace!" But soon shall they know! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | So turn aside from them and say, "Peace." But they are going to know. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | So ignore them, and say to them whatever repels their evil - this was in Makkah - they will soon realise what punishment they will face. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अच्छा तो उनसे नज़र फेर लो और कह दो, "सलाम है तुम्हें!" अन्ततः शीघ्र ही वे स्वयं जान लेंगे |
