| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Inna anzalnahu fee laylatin mubarakatin inna kunna munthireena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Innaaa anzalnaahu fee lailatim mubaarakah; innaa kunnaa munzireen |
| English (Pickthall) | Lo! We revealed it on a blessed night - Lo! We are ever warning - |

| عَرَبِي | فيها يُفرَقُ كُلُّ أَمرٍ حَكيمٍ |

| عَرَبِي | أَمرًا مِن عِندِنا ۚ إِنّا كُنّا مُرسِلينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Amran min AAindina inna kunna mursileena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Amram min 'indinaaa; innaa kunnaa mursileen |
| English (Pickthall) | As a command from Our presence - Lo! We are ever sending - |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | By command, from Our Presence. For We (ever) send (revelations), |

| عَرَبِي | رَحمَةً مِن رَبِّكَ ۚ إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّميعُ العَليمُ |

| Transliteration (Unicode) | Rahmatam mir rabbik; innahoo Huwas Samee'ul 'Aleem |

| عَرَبِي | رَبِّ السَّماواتِ وَالأَرضِ وَما بَينَهُما ۖ إِن كُنتُم موقِنينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Rabbi alssamawati waalardi wama baynahuma in kuntum mooqineena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Rabbis samaawaati wal ardi wa maa bainahumaa; in kuntum mooqineen |
| English (Pickthall) | Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if ye would be sure. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all between them, if ye (but) have an assured faith. |

| عَرَبِي | لا إِلٰهَ إِلّا هُوَ يُحيي وَيُميتُ ۖ رَبُّكُم وَرَبُّ آبائِكُمُ الأَوَّلينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | La ilaha illa huwa yuhyee wayumeetu rabbukum warabbu abaikumu alawwaleena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Laaa ilaaha illaa Huwa yuhyee wa yumeetu Rabbukum wa Rabbu aabaaa'ikumul awwaleen |
| English (Pickthall) | There is no Allah save Him. He quickeneth and giveth death; your Lord and Lord of your forefathers. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | There is no god but He: It is He Who gives life and gives death,- The Lord and Cherisher to you and your earliest ancestors. |

| عَرَبِي | بَل هُم في شَكٍّ يَلعَبونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Bal hum fee shakkin yalAAaboona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Bal hum fee shakkiny yal'aboon |
| English (Pickthall) | Nay, but they play in doubt. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Yet they play about in doubt. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | But they are in doubt, amusing themselves. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | These idolaters are not convinced of that, rather, they are in doubt about it and distract themselves from it with the falsehood they are in. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | बल्कि वे संदेह में पड़े रहे हैं |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | लेकिन ये लोग तो शक़ में पड़े खेल रहे हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | ये मुश्रिक उसपर विश्वास करने वाले नहीं हैं, बल्कि वे उसके बारे में संदेह में पड़े हुए हैं और वे जिस झूठ पर क़ायम हैं उसके कारण उससे ग़ाफ़िल हैं। |

| عَرَبِي | فَارتَقِب يَومَ تَأتِي السَّماءُ بِدُخانٍ مُبينٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fairtaqib yawma tatee alssamao bidukhanin mubeenin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fartaqib Yawma taatis samaaa'u bidukhaanim mubeen |
| English (Pickthall) | But watch thou (O Muhammad) for the day when the sky will produce visible smoke |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Then watch thou for the Day that the sky will bring forth a kind of smoke (or mist) plainly visible, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Then watch for the Day when the sky will bring a visible smoke. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | So O Messenger! Wait for their punishment that will come soon: a day when the sky is clearly filled with smoke. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अच्छा तो तुम उस दिन की प्रतीक्षा करो, जब आकाश प्रत्यक्ष धुँआ लाएगा। |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो तुम उस दिन का इन्तेज़ार करो कि आसमान से ज़ाहिर ब ज़ाहिर धुऑं निकलेगा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तो (ऐ रसूल!) आप अपनी जाति पर जल्द ही आने वाली यातना की प्रतीक्षा करें, जो उस दिन आएगी, जिस दिन आकाश स्पष्ट धुएँ के साथ आएगा, जिसे वे गंभीर भूख के कारण अपनी आँखों से देख रहे होंगे। |
| Ayah 11 |
| عَرَبِي | يَغشَى النّاسَ ۖ هٰذا عَذابٌ أَليمٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Yaghsha alnnasa hatha AAathabun aleemun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Yaghshan naasa haazaa 'azaabun aleem |
| English (Pickthall) | That will envelop the people. This will be a painful torment. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Enveloping the people: this will be a Penalty Grievous. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Covering the people; this is a painful torment. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | It will cover the people, and will be said to them, “This punishment that has afflicted you is a painful punishment.” |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | वह लोगों का ढाँक लेगा। यह है दुखद यातना! |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | (और) लोगों को ढाँक लेगा ये दर्दनाक अज़ाब है |

| عَرَبِي | رَبَّنَا اكشِف عَنَّا العَذابَ إِنّا مُؤمِنونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Rabbana ikshif AAanna alAAathaba inna muminoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Rabbanak shif 'annal 'azaaba innaa mu'minoon |
| English (Pickthall) | (Then they will say): Our Lord relieve us of the torment. Lo! we are believers. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | (They will say:) "Our Lord! remove the Penalty from us, for we do really believe!" |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | [They will say], "Our Lord, remove from us the torment; indeed, we are believers." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | They will then beg their Lord, asking him, “O our Lord! Turn the punishment that you sent upon us, away from us. If you turn it away from us, we will believe in You and in Your Messenger.” |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | वे कहेंगे, "ऐ हमारे रब! हमपर से यातना हटा दे। हम ईमान लाते है।" |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | कुफ्फ़ार भी घबराकर कहेंगे कि परवरदिगार हमसे अज़ाब को दूर दफ़ा कर दे हम भी ईमान लाते हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तो वे अपने पालनहार से गिड़गिड़ाते हुए कहेंगे : ऐ हमारे पालनहार! हमसे उस अज़ाब को दूर कर दे, जिसे तूने हमपर भेजा है। अगर तूने उसे हमसे दूर कर दिया, तो हम तुझपर और तेरे रसूल पर ईमान ले आएँगे। |
| Ayah 13 |
| عَرَبِي | أَنّىٰ لَهُمُ الذِّكرىٰ وَقَد جاءَهُم رَسولٌ مُبينٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Anna lahumu alththikra waqad jaahum rasoolun mubeenun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Annaa lahumuz zikraa wa qad jaaa'ahum Rasoolum mubeen |
| English (Pickthall) | How can there be remembrance for them, when a messenger making plain (the Truth) had already come unto them, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | How shall the message be (effectual) for them, seeing that an Messenger explaining things clearly has (already) come to them,- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | How will there be for them a reminder [at that time]? And there had come to them a clear Messenger. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | How can they take heed and repent to their Lord now, when a clear Messenger came to them before, and they knew of his truthfulness and honesty? |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अब उनके होश में आने का मौक़ा कहाँ बाक़ी रहा। उनका हाल तो यह है कि उनके पास साफ़-साफ़ बतानेवाला एक रसूल आ चुका है। |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | (उस वक्त) भला क्या उनको नसीहत होगी जब उनके पास पैग़म्बर आ चुके जो साफ़ साफ़ बयान कर देते थे |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | उनके लिए नसीहत हासिल करने और पश्चाताप कर अपने पालनहार की ओर लौटने का अवसर अब कहाँ रहा, जबकि उनके पास एक स्पष्ट संदेश वाला रसूल आ चुका है और वे उसकी सच्चाई और अमानतदारी से भी अवगत हैं?! |
| Ayah 14 |
| عَرَبِي | ثُمَّ تَوَلَّوا عَنهُ وَقالوا مُعَلَّمٌ مَجنونٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Thumma tawallaw AAanhu waqaloo muAAallamun majnoonun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Summaa tawallaw 'anhu wa qaaloo mu'allamum majnoon |
| English (Pickthall) | And they had turned away from him and said: One taught (by others), a madman? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Yet they turn away from him and say: "Tutored (by others), a man possessed!" |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Then they turned away from him and said, "[He was] taught [and is] a madman." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | They turned away from believing in him, and said about him, “He was taught. Other people taught him; he is not a messenger.” They also said, “He is a madman.” |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | फिर उन्होंने उसकी ओर से मुँह मोड़ लिया और कहने लगे, "यह तो एक सिखाया-पढ़ाया दीवाना है।" |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | फिर उन्होंने उस पर विश्वास करने से मुँह फेर लिया और उन्होंने उसके बारे में कहा : वह एक सिखाया हुआ व्यक्ति है, जिसे कोई दूसरा सिखाता है, वह संदेशवाहक नहीं है। तथा उन्होंने उसके बारे में कहा कि : वह पागल है। |
| Ayah 15 |
| عَرَبِي | إِنّا كاشِفُو العَذابِ قَليلًا ۚ إِنَّكُم عائِدونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Inna kashifoo alAAathabi qaleelan innakum AAaidoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Innaa kaashiful 'azaabi qaleelaa; innakum 'aaa'indoon |
| English (Pickthall) | Lo! We withdraw the torment a little. Lo! ye return (to disbelief). |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | We shall indeed remove the Penalty for a while, (but) truly ye will revert (to your ways). |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Indeed, We will remove the torment for a little. Indeed, you [disbelievers] will return [to disbelief]. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Indeed, when I turn the punishment away from them for a short while, they will return to their disbelief and rejection. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | "हम यातना थोड़ा हटा देते है तो तुम पुनः फिर जाते हो। |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | (अच्छा ख़ैर) हम थोड़े दिन के लिए अज़ाब को टाल देते हैं मगर हम जानते हैं तुम ज़रूर फिर कुफ्र करोगे |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | जब हम तुम पर से यातना को थोड़ा टाल देंगे, तो तुम अपने कुफ़्र और झुठलाने के रवैये की ओर लौट जाओगे। |
| Ayah 16 |
| عَرَبِي | يَومَ نَبطِشُ البَطشَةَ الكُبرىٰ إِنّا مُنتَقِمونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Yawma nabtishu albatshata alkubra inna muntaqimoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Yawma nabtishul batsha tal kubraa innaa muntaqimoon |
| English (Pickthall) | On the day when We shall seize them with the greater seizure, (then) in truth We shall punish. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | One day We shall seize you with a mighty onslaught: We will indeed (then) exact Retribution! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | The Day We will strike with the greatest assault, indeed, We will take retribution. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O Messenger! Wait for the day when I will seize the disbelievers with the greatest seizing, by entering them into the hellfire on the Day of Judgement wherein they will live forever. I will take retribution from them for their disbelief in Allah and rejecting His messengers. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | याद रखो, जिस दिन हम बड़ी पकड़ पकड़ेंगे, तो निश्चय ही हम बदला लेकर रहेंगे |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | हम बेशक (उनसे) पूरा बदला तो बस उस दिन लेगें जिस दिन सख्त पकड़ पकड़ेंगे |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | (ऐ रसूल!) उनके लिए उस दिन की प्रतीक्षा करें, जब हम बद्र के दिन आपकी जाति के काफ़िरों की बड़ी पकड़ करेंगे। निश्चय ही हम उनसे, उनके अल्लाह के साथ कुफ़्र करने और उसके रसूल को झुठलाने के कारण, बदला लेने वाले हैं। |
| Ayah 17 |
| عَرَبِي | ۞ وَلَقَد فَتَنّا قَبلَهُم قَومَ فِرعَونَ وَجاءَهُم رَسولٌ كَريمٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Walaqad fatanna qablahum qawma firAAawna wajaahum rasoolun kareemun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa laqad fatannaa qablahum qawma Fir'awna wa jaaa'ahum Rasoolun kareem |
| English (Pickthall) | And verily We tried before them Pharaoh's folk, when there came unto them a noble messenger, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | We did, before them, try the people of Pharaoh: there came to them a messenger most honourable, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And We had already tried before them the people of Pharaoh, and there came to them a noble messenger, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And verily I tested the people of Pharaoh before them, and their noble messenger came to them from Allah calling them towards His oneness and worship. He was Moses (peace be upon him). |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | उनसे पहले हम फ़िरऔन की क़ौम के लोगों को परीक्षा में डाल चुके हैं, जबकि उनके पास एक अत्यन्त सज्जन रसूल आया |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और उनसे पहले हमने क़ौमे फिरऔन की आज़माइश की और उनके पास एक आली क़दर पैग़म्बर (मूसा) आए |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | निश्चय ही हमने उनसे पहले फ़िरऔन की जाति को आज़माया और उनके पास अल्लाह की ओर से एक सम्मानित रसूल आया, जिसने उन्हें अल्लाह के एकेश्वरवाद (अल्लाह को एकमात्र पूज्य मानने) और उसकी इबादत की ओर आमंत्रित किया। और वह मूसा अलैहिस्सलाम हैं। |
| Ayah 18 |
| عَرَبِي | أَن أَدّوا إِلَيَّ عِبادَ اللَّهِ ۖ إِنّي لَكُم رَسولٌ أَمينٌ |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | मूसा ने फ़िरऔन और उसके लोगों से कहा : बनी इसराईल को मेरे लिए छोड़ दो। क्योंकि वे अल्लाह के बंदे हैं। तुम्हें उन्हें दास बनाने का कोई अधिकार नहीं है। मैं तुम्हारे लिए अल्लाह की ओर से एक रसूल बनाकर भेजा गया हूँ। उस बात के प्रति विश्वसनीय हूँ, जिसे उसने मुझे तुमको पहुँचाने का आदेश दिया है, मैं उसमें कुछ कमी या वृद्धि नहीं करता हूँ। |

| عَرَبِي | وَأَن لا تَعلوا عَلَى اللَّهِ ۖ إِنّي آتيكُم بِسُلطانٍ مُبينٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waan la taAAloo AAala Allahi innee ateekum bisultanin mubeenin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa al laa ta'loo 'alal laahi innee aateekum bisultaanim mubeen |
| English (Pickthall) | And saying: Be not proud against Allah. Lo! I bring you a clear warrant. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | "And be not arrogant as against Allah: for I come to you with authority manifest. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And [saying], "Be not haughty with Allah. Indeed, I have come to you with clear authority. |

| عَرَبِي | وَإِنّي عُذتُ بِرَبّي وَرَبِّكُم أَن تَرجُمونِ |

| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa innee 'uztu bi Rabbee wa rabbikum an tarjumoon |
| English (Pickthall) | And lo! I have sought refuge in my Lord and your Lord lest ye stone me to death. |

| عَرَبِي | وَإِن لَم تُؤمِنوا لي فَاعتَزِلونِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wain lam tuminoo lee faiAAtazilooni |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa il lam tu'minoo lee fa'taziloon |
| English (Pickthall) | And if ye put no faith in me, then let me go. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | "If ye believe me not, at least keep yourselves away from me." |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | But if you do not believe me, then leave me alone." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | “If you do not believe in whatever I have brought, then leave me alone; do not approach me intending harm.” |

| عَرَبِي | فَدَعا رَبَّهُ أَنَّ هٰؤُلاءِ قَومٌ مُجرِمونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | FadaAAa rabbahu anna haolai qawmun mujrimoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fada'aa rabbahooo anna haaa'ulaaa'i qawmum mujrimoon |
| English (Pickthall) | And he cried unto his Lord, (saying): These are guilty folk. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | (But they were aggressive:) then he cried to his Lord: "These are indeed a people given to sin." |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And [finally] he called to his Lord that these were a criminal people. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Then Moses supplicated to his Lord: “This nation i.e. Pharaoh and his people, are a criminal nation who deserve a swift punishment.” |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अंततः मूसा अलैहिस्सलाम ने अपने पालनहार से प्रार्थना की : ये लोग - अर्थात् फ़िरऔन और उसके प्रमुख - अपराधी हैं, जो जल्द सज़ा दिए जाने के पात्र हैं। |

| عَرَبِي | فَأَسرِ بِعِبادي لَيلًا إِنَّكُم مُتَّبَعونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faasri biAAibadee laylan innakum muttabaAAoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fa asri bi'ibaadee lailan innakum muttaba'oon |
| English (Pickthall) | Then (his Lord commanded): Take away My slaves by night. Lo! ye will be followed, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | (The reply came:) "March forth with My Servants by night: for ye are sure to be pursued. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | [Allah said], "Then set out with My servants by night. Indeed, you are to be pursued. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | So Allah commanded Moses to take his people away at night, and informed him that Pharaoh and his people will pursue them. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तब अल्लाह ने मूसा अलैहिस्सलाम को अपनी जाति के लोगों को लेकर रातों-रात निकल जाने का आदेश दिया और उन्हें यह भी बता दिया कि फ़िरऔन और उसकी जाति के लोग उनका पीछा करेंगे। |

| عَرَبِي | وَاترُكِ البَحرَ رَهوًا ۖ إِنَّهُم جُندٌ مُغرَقونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waotruki albahra rahwan innahum jundun mughraqoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Watrukil bahra rahwan innahum jundum mughraqoon |
| English (Pickthall) | And leave the sea behind at rest, for lo! they are a drowned host. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | "And leave the sea as a furrow (divided): for they are a host (destined) to be drowned." |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And leave the sea in stillness. Indeed, they are an army to be drowned." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | He also commanded him that when they all cross the sea, to leave it standing as it was, because Pharaoh and his people were to be destroyed by drowning in it. |

| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa na'matin kaanoo feehaa faakiheen |
| English (Pickthall) | And pleasant things wherein they took delight! |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And wealth (and conveniences of life), wherein they had taken such delight! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And comfort wherein they were amused. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And how many lives of luxuries they used to live, did they leave behind! |

| عَرَبِي | كَذٰلِكَ ۖ وَأَورَثناها قَومًا آخَرينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Kathalika waawrathnaha qawman akhareena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Kazaalika wa awrasnaahaa qawman aakhareen |
| English (Pickthall) | Even so (it was), and We made it an inheritance for other folk; |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Thus (was their end)! And We made other people inherit (those things)! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Thus. And We caused to inherit it another people. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Whatever has been described to you happened to them, and we made another nation i.e. the Israelites inherit their gardens, springs, farms and structures. |

| عَرَبِي | فَما بَكَت عَلَيهِمُ السَّماءُ وَالأَرضُ وَما كانوا مُنظَرينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fama bakat AAalayhimu alssamao waalardu wama kanoo munthareena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Famaa bakat 'alaihimus samaaa'u wal ardu wa maa kaanoo munzareen |
| English (Pickthall) | And the heaven and the earth wept not for them, nor were they reprieved. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And neither heaven nor earth shed a tear over them: nor were they given a respite (again). |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And the heaven and earth wept not for them, nor were they reprieved. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Neither the heavens nor the earth cried over Pharaoh and his people when they drowned, nor were they given respite to repent. |

| عَرَبِي | وَلَقَد نَجَّينا بَني إِسرائيلَ مِنَ العَذابِ المُهينِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Walaqad najjayna banee israeela mina alAAathabi almuheeni |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa laqad najjainaa Baneee Israaa'eela minal'azaabil muheen |
| English (Pickthall) | And We delivered the Children of Israel from the shameful doom; |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | We did deliver aforetime the Children of Israel from humiliating Punishment, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And We certainly saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment - |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And verily I saved the Israelites from the humiliating punishment, because Pharaoh and his people would kill their children and keep their women alive. |

| عَرَبِي | مِن فِرعَونَ ۚ إِنَّهُ كانَ عالِيًا مِنَ المُسرِفينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Min firAAawna innahu kana AAaliyan mina almusrifeena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Min Fir'awn; innahoo kaana 'aaliyam minal musrifeen |
| English (Pickthall) | (We delivered them) from Pharaoh. Lo! he was a tyrant of the wanton ones. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Inflicted by Pharaoh, for he was arrogant (even) among inordinate transgressors. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | From Pharaoh. Indeed, he was a haughty one among the transgressors. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | I saved them from the punishment of Pharaoh. Indeed, he was an arrogant one from those who transgressed the command and religion of Allah. |

| عَرَبِي | وَلَقَدِ اختَرناهُم عَلىٰ عِلمٍ عَلَى العالَمينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Walaqadi ikhtarnahum AAala AAilmin AAala alAAalameena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa laqadikh tarnaahum 'alaa 'ilmin 'alal 'aalameen |
| English (Pickthall) | And We chose them, purposely, above (all) creatures. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And We chose them aforetime above the nations, knowingly, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And We certainly chose them by knowledge over [all] the worlds. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And verily I selected the Israelites knowingly over the people of their time, because of their many Prophets. |

| عَرَبِي | وَآتَيناهُم مِنَ الآياتِ ما فيهِ بَلاءٌ مُبينٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waataynahum mina alayati ma feehi balaon mubeenun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa aatainaahum minal aayaati maa feehi balaaa'um mubeen |
| English (Pickthall) | And We gave them portents wherein was a clear trial. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And granted them Signs in which there was a manifest trial |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And We gave them of signs that in which there was a clear trial. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And I granted them miracles through which I gave strength to Moses, and in which there was an obvious blessing for them, like the Mann and Salwā and other than them. |

| عَرَبِي | إِنَّ هٰؤُلاءِ لَيَقولونَ |

| English (Pickthall) | Lo! these, forsooth, are saying: |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | As to these (Quraish), they say forsooth: |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Indeed, these [disbelievers] are saying, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Indeed, these rejecting idolaters will say, denying the resurrection: |

| عَرَبِي | إِن هِيَ إِلّا مَوتَتُنَا الأولىٰ وَما نَحنُ بِمُنشَرينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | In hiya illa mawtatuna aloola wama nahnu bimunshareena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | In hiya illaa mawtatunal oolaa wa maa nahnu bimun shareen |
| English (Pickthall) | There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | "There is nothing beyond our first death, and we shall not be raised again. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | "There is not but our first death, and we will not be resurrected. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | “It is only our first death that we will die; there is no life after that, and we are not going to be resurrected after this death.” |

| عَرَبِي | فَأتوا بِآبائِنا إِن كُنتُم صادِقينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fatoo biabaina in kuntum sadiqeena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Faatoo bi aabaaa'inaaa inkuntum saadiqeen |
| English (Pickthall) | Bring back our fathers, if ye speak the truth! |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | "Then bring (back) our forefathers, if what ye say is true!" |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Then bring [back] our forefathers, if you should be truthful." |

| عَرَبِي | أَهُم خَيرٌ أَم قَومُ تُبَّعٍ وَالَّذينَ مِن قَبلِهِم ۚ أَهلَكناهُم ۖ إِنَّهُم كانوا مُجرِمينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Ahum khayrun am qawmu tubbaAAin waallatheena min qablihim ahlaknahum innahum kanoo mujrimeena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Ahum khayrun am qawmu Tubba'inw wallazeena min qablihim; ahlaknaahum innahum kaanoo mujrimeen |
| English (Pickthall) | Are they better, or the folk of Tubb'a and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty. |

| عَرَبِي | وَما خَلَقنَا السَّماواتِ وَالأَرضَ وَما بَينَهُما لاعِبينَ |

| Transliteration (Unicode) | Yawma laa yughnee mawlan 'am mawlan shai'anw wa laa hum yunsaroon |

| عَرَبِي | إِلّا مَن رَحِمَ اللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُ هُوَ العَزيزُ الرَّحيمُ |

| English (Pickthall) | Lo! this is that whereof ye used to doubt. |

| عَرَبِي | كَذٰلِكَ وَزَوَّجناهُم بِحورٍ عينٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Kathalika wazawwajnahum bihoorin AAeenin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Kazaalika wa zawwajnaahum bihoorin 'een |
| English (Pickthall) | Even so (it will be). And We shall wed them unto fair ones with wide, lovely eyes. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | So; and We shall join them to fair women with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Thus. And We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes. |

| عَرَبِي | يَدعونَ فيها بِكُلِّ فاكِهَةٍ آمِنينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | YadAAoona feeha bikulli fakihatin amineena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Yad'oona feehaa bikulli faakihatin aamineen |
| English (Pickthall) | They call therein for every fruit in safety. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | There can they call for every kind of fruit in peace and security; |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | They will call therein for every [kind of] fruit - safe and secure. |

| हिन्दी (Farooq) | वे वहाँ निश्चिन्तता के साथ हर प्रकार के स्वादिष्ट फल मँगवाते होंगे |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | वहाँ इत्मेनान से हर किस्म के मेवे मंगवा कर खायेंगे |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | वे वहाँ अपने सेवकों से इच्छानुसार हर प्रकार के फल मंगवाएँगे। वे उन फलों के खत्म होने और उनके हानिकारक प्रभावों से सुरक्षित होंगे। |
| Ayah 56 |
| عَرَبِي | لا يَذوقونَ فيهَا المَوتَ إِلَّا المَوتَةَ الأولىٰ ۖ وَوَقاهُم عَذابَ الجَحيمِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | La yathooqoona feeha almawta illa almawtata aloola wawaqahum AAathaba aljaheemi |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Laa yazooqoona feehal mawtaa illal mawtatal oolaa wa qaqaahum 'azaabal jaheem |
| English (Pickthall) | They taste not death therein, save the first death. And He hath saved them from the doom of hell, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Nor will they there taste Death, except the first death; and He will preserve them from the Penalty of the Blazing Fire,- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | They will not taste death therein except the first death, and He will have protected them from the punishment of Hellfire |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Living therein forever. They will not taste death therein except the first death in the worldly life, and their Lord will save them from the punishment of the fire. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | वहाँ वे मृत्यु का मज़ा कभी न चखेगे। बस पहली मृत्यु जो हुई, सो हुई। और उसने उन्हें भड़कती हुई आग की यातना से बचा लिया |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | वहाँ पहली दफ़ा की मौत के सिवा उनको मौत की तलख़ी चख़नी ही न पड़ेगी और ख़ुदा उनको दोज़ख़ के अज़ाब से महफूज़ रखेगा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | उसी में सदैव रहेंगे। वे दुनिया के जीवन में होने वाली पहली मौत के सिवा, उसमें मौत का स्वाद नहीं चखेंगे। तथा उनका पालनहार उन्हें जहन्नम की यातना से सुरक्षित रखेगा। |
| Ayah 57 |
| عَرَبِي | فَضلًا مِن رَبِّكَ ۚ ذٰلِكَ هُوَ الفَوزُ العَظيمُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fadlan min rabbika thalika huwa alfawzu alAAatheemu |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fadlam mir rabbik; zaalika huwal fawzul 'azeem |
| English (Pickthall) | A bounty from thy Lord. That is the supreme triumph. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | As a Bounty from thy Lord! that will be the supreme achievement! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | As bounty from your Lord. That is what is the great attainment. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | As a grace and kindness from your Lord to them, O Messenger. That which is mentioned, namely entering them into Paradise and saving them from the fire is the great success which no success can compare with. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | यह सब तुम्हारे रब के विशेष उदार अनुग्रह के कारण होगा, वही बड़ी सफलता है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | (ये) तुम्हारे परवरदिगार का फज़ल है यही तो बड़ी कामयाबी है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | यह आपके पालनहार की ओर से उनपर अनुग्रह और उपकार के तौर पर होगा। यह उपर्युक्त - अर्थात उन्हें जन्नत में प्रवेश देना और जहन्नम से बचाना - ही बड़ी सफलता है, जिसकी बराबरी कोई सफलता नहीं कर सकती। |
| Ayah 58 |
| عَرَبِي | فَإِنَّما يَسَّرناهُ بِلِسانِكَ لَعَلَّهُم يَتَذَكَّرونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fainnama yassarnahu bilisanika laAAallahum yatathakkaroona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fa innamaa yassarnaahu bilisaanika la'allahum yatazakkaroon |
| English (Pickthall) | And We have made (this Scripture) easy in thy language only that they may heed. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Verily, We have made this (Qur'an) easy, in thy tongue, in order that they may give heed. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And indeed, We have eased the Qur'an in your tongue that they might be reminded. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | I have made this Qur’ān easy and facilitated it for you by revealing it in your language of Arabic, O Messenger, so that they take heed. |

| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो हमने इस क़ुरान को तुम्हारी ज़बान में (इसलिए) आसान कर दिया है ताकि ये लोग नसीहत पकड़ें तो |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | हमने इस क़ुरआन को (ऐ रसूल!) आपकी अरबी भाषा में उतारकर सरल और आसान कर दिया है, ताकि वे नसीहत पकड़ें। |
| Ayah 59 |
| عَرَبِي | فَارتَقِب إِنَّهُم مُرتَقِبونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fairtaqib innahum murtaqiboona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fartaqib innahum murta qiboon |
| English (Pickthall) | Wait then (O Muhammad). Lo! they (too) are waiting. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | So wait thou and watch; for they (too) are waiting. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | So watch, [O Muhammad]; indeed, they are watching [for your end]. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | So await your help and their destruction; they are awaiting your destruction. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अच्छा तुम भी प्रतीक्षा करो, वे भी प्रतीक्षा में हैं |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | (नतीजे के) तुम भी मुन्तज़िर रहो ये लोग भी मुन्तज़िर हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अतः आप अपनी जीत और उनके विनाश की प्रतीक्षा करें। निःसंदेह वे (भी) आपके विनाश की प्रतीक्षा कर रहे हैं। |
