| Ayah 2 |
| عَرَبِي | وَأَذِنَت لِرَبِّها وَحُقَّت |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waathinat lirabbiha wahuqqat |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa azinat li Rabbihaa wa huqqat |
| English (Pickthall) | And attentive to her Lord in fear, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And listens submissively to its Lord, as it rightly should. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और वह अपने रब की सुनेगा, और उसे यही चाहिए भी |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और अपने परवरदिगार का हुक्म बजा लाएगा और उसे वाजिब भी यही है |

| Ayah 3 |
| عَرَبِي | وَإِذَا الأَرضُ مُدَّت |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waitha alardu muddat |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa izal ardu muddat |
| English (Pickthall) | And when the earth is spread out |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And when the earth is flattened out, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And when the earth has been extended |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | When the earth is stretched by Allah as leather is stretched. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | जब धरती फैला दी जाएगी |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और जब ज़मीन (बराबर करके) तान दी जाएगी |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और जब अल्लाह धरती को फैला देगा, जिस तरह चमड़े को (खींचकर) फैलाया जाता है। |
| Ayah 4 |
| عَرَبِي | وَأَلقَت ما فيها وَتَخَلَّت |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waalqat ma feeha watakhallat |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa alqat maa feehaa wa takhallat |
| English (Pickthall) | And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And throws out the treasures and the dead in it and becomes rid of them. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और जो कुछ उसके भीतर है उसे बाहर डालकर खाली हो जाएगी |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और जो कुछ उसमें है उगल देगी और बिल्कुल ख़ाली हो जाएगी |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और उसके अंदर जो खज़ाने और मुर्दे हैं, उन्हें निकाल बाहर फेंक देगी और उनसे खाली हो जाएगी। |
| Ayah 5 |
| عَرَبِي | وَأَذِنَت لِرَبِّها وَحُقَّت |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waathinat lirabbiha wahuqqat |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa azinat li Rabbihaa wa huqqat |
| English (Pickthall) | And attentive to her Lord in fear! |

| عَرَبِي | يا أَيُّهَا الإِنسانُ إِنَّكَ كادِحٌ إِلىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدحًا فَمُلاقيهِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Ya ayyuha alinsanu innaka kadihun ila rabbika kadhan famulaqeehi |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Yaaa ayyuhal insaanu innaka kaadihun ilaa Rabbika kad han famulaaqeeh |
| English (Pickthall) | Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O man, you are either doing good or evil and you will meet it on the Day of Judgment, so that Allah can give you the recompense for that. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | ऐ मनुष्य! तू मशक़्क़त करता हुआ अपने रब ही की ओर खिंचा चला जा रहा है और अन्ततः उससे मिलने वाला है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और उस पर लाज़िम भी यही है (तो क़यामत आ जाएगी) ऐ इन्सान तू अपने परवरदिगार की हुज़ूरी की कोशिश करता है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | ऐ इनसान! निश्चय तू अच्छा या बुरा जो भी काम कर रहा है, क़ियामत के दिन उससे मिलने वाला है, ताकि अल्लाह तुझे उसका बदला दे। |
| Ayah 7 |
| عَرَبِي | فَأَمّا مَن أوتِيَ كِتابَهُ بِيَمينِهِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faama man ootiya kitabahu biyameenihi |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fa ammaa man ootiya kitaabahoo biyameenih |
| English (Pickthall) | Then whoso is given his account in his right hand |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Since Allah mentioned man’s action in brief, he details the condition of those who did action on the day of judgment by saying: As for him who is given his book of deeds in his right hand. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | फिर जिस किसी को उसका कर्म-पत्र उसके दाहिने हाथ में दिया गया, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो तू (एक न एक दिन) उसके सामने हाज़िर होगा फिर (उस दिन) जिसका नामाए आमाल उसके दाहिने हाथ में दिया जाएगा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | फिर जिस व्यक्ति को उसका आमाल नामा उसके दाहिने हाथ में दिया गया। |
| Ayah 8 |
| عَرَبِي | فَسَوفَ يُحاسَبُ حِسابًا يَسيرًا |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fasawfa yuhasabu hisaban yaseeran |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fasawfa yuhaasabu hi saabai yaseeraa |
| English (Pickthall) | He truly will receive an easy reckoning |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | He will be judged with an easy account |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | He will have an easy reckoning by Allah and his actions will be presented to Him without his being taken to task. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | तो उससे आसान, सरसरी हिसाब लिया जाएगा |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | उससे तो हिसाब आसान तरीके से लिया जाएगा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तो अल्लाह उसका आसान हिसाब लेगा; उसके सामने उसके कार्यों को पेश किया जाएगा, लेकिन उसपर पकड़ नहीं की जाएगी। |
| Ayah 9 |
| عَرَبِي | وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلىٰ أَهلِهِ مَسرورًا |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wayanqalibu ila ahlihi masrooran |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa yanqalibu ilaaa ahlihee masrooraa |
| English (Pickthall) | And will return unto his folk in joy. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And return to his people in happiness. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And he will return to his family delighted. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और वह अपने लोगों की ओर ख़ुश-ख़ुश पलटेगा |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और (फिर) वह अपने (मोमिनीन के) क़बीले की तरफ ख़ुश ख़ुश पलटेगा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और वह ख़ुश-ख़ुश अपने परिवार के पास लौटेगा। |
| Ayah 10 |
| عَرَبِي | وَأَمّا مَن أوتِيَ كِتابَهُ وَراءَ ظَهرِهِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waamma man ootiya kitabahu waraa thahrihi |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa ammaa man ootiya kitaabahoo waraaa'a zahrih |
| English (Pickthall) | But whoso is given his account behind his back, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | But he who is given his Record behind his back,- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | But as for he who is given his record behind his back, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | As for him who is given his book in his left hand behind his back. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और रह वह व्यक्ति जिसका कर्म-पत्र (उसके बाएँ हाथ में) उसकी पीठ के पीछे से दिया गया, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | लेकिन जिस शख़्श को उसका नामए आमल उसकी पीठ के पीछे से दिया जाएगा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | लेकिन जिस व्यक्ति को उसका आमाल नामा उसके बाएँ हाथ में उसकी पीठ के पीछे से दिया गया। |
| Ayah 11 |
| عَرَبِي | فَسَوفَ يَدعو ثُبورًا |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fasawfa yadAAoo thubooran |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fasawfa yad'oo subooraa |
| English (Pickthall) | He surely will invoke destruction |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Soon will he cry for perdition, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | He will cry out for destruction |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | He will call out for destruction to himself. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | तो वह विनाश (मृत्यु) को पुकारेगा, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | वह तो मौत की दुआ करेगा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तो वह अपने विनाश को पुकारेगा। |
| Ayah 12 |
| عَرَبِي | وَيَصلىٰ سَعيرًا |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wayasla saAAeeran |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa yaslaa sa'eeraa |
| English (Pickthall) | And be thrown to scorching fire. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And he will enter a Blazing Fire. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And he will enter the fire of Hell to suffer from its heat. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और दहकती आग में जा पड़ेगा |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और जहन्नुम वासिल होगा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | वह जहन्नम की आग में दाखिल होकर उसकी गरमी को झेलेगा। |
| Ayah 13 |
| عَرَبِي | إِنَّهُ كانَ في أَهلِهِ مَسرورًا |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Innahu kana fee ahlihi masrooran |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Innahoo kaana feee ahlihee masrooraa |
| English (Pickthall) | He verily lived joyous with his folk, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness; |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | In the world he was amongst his family rejoicing with his acts of disbelief and sins. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | वह अपने लोगों में मग्न था, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | ये शख़्श तो अपने लड़के बालों में मस्त रहता था |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | निःसंदेह वह दुनिया में, अपने परिवार में, अपने कुफ़्र और पाप की स्थिति पर बड़ा खुश रहता था। |
| Ayah 14 |
| عَرَبِي | إِنَّهُ ظَنَّ أَن لَن يَحورَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Innahu thanna an lan yahoora |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Innahoo zanna al lai yahoor |
| English (Pickthall) | He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | He thought that he will not come back to life after death. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | उसने यह समझ रखा था कि उसे कभी पलटना नहीं है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और समझता था कि कभी (ख़ुदा की तरफ) फिर कर जाएगा ही नहीं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | उसने सोचा था कि वह अपनी मृत्यु के बाद जीवन में वापस नहीं आएगा। |
| Ayah 15 |
| عَرَبِي | بَلىٰ إِنَّ رَبَّهُ كانَ بِهِ بَصيرًا |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Bala inna rabbahu kana bihi baseeran |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Balaaa inna Rabbahoo kaana bihee baseeraa |
| English (Pickthall) | Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Indeed, Allah will bring him back to life just as He created him the first time. His Lord was watchful of his condition. Nothing of that was hidden from Him and He will give him the recompense for his actions. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | क्यों नहीं, निश्चय ही उसका रब तो उसे देख रहा था! |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | हाँ उसका परवरदिगार यक़ीनी उसको देख भाल कर रहा है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | क्यों नहीं, निश्चय अल्लाह उसे जीवन में अवश्य वापस लाएगा, जैसा कि उसने उसे पहली बार पैदा किया था। निःसंदेह उसका पालनहार उसकी स्थिति से अवगत था। उससे उसका कुछ भी छिपा नहीं है, और वह उसे उसके काम बदला देगा। |
| Ayah 16 |
| عَرَبِي | فَلا أُقسِمُ بِالشَّفَقِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fala oqsimu bialshshafaqi |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Falaaa uqsimu bishshafaq |
| English (Pickthall) | Oh, I swear by the afterglow of sunset, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset; |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | So I swear by the twilight glow |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Allah took an oath by the redness that is in the horizon after the sun sets. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अतः कुछ नहीं, मैं क़सम खाता हूँ सांध्य-लालिमा की, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो मुझे शाम की मुर्ख़ी की क़सम |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अल्लाह ने उस लाली की क़सम खाई है, जो सूर्यास्त के बाद क्षितिज पर होती है। |
| Ayah 17 |
| عَرَبِي | وَاللَّيلِ وَما وَسَقَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waallayli wama wasaqa |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wallaili wa maa wasaq |
| English (Pickthall) | And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | The Night and its Homing; |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And [by] the night and what it envelops |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And He took an oath by the night and what is gathered therein. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और रात की और उसके समेट लेने की, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और रात की और उन चीज़ों की जिन्हें ये ढाँक लेती है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और रात की तथा उसमें एकत्रित की गई चीज़ की क़सम खाई है। |
| Ayah 18 |
| عَرَبِي | وَالقَمَرِ إِذَا اتَّسَقَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waalqamari itha ittasaqa |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Walqamari izat tasaq |
| English (Pickthall) | And by the moon when she is at the full, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And the Moon in her fullness: |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And [by] the moon when it becomes full |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And the moon when it comes together and is complete becoming a full moon. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और चन्द्रमा की जबकि वह पूर्ण हो जाता है, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और चाँद की जब पूरा हो जाए |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तथा चाँद की (क़सम खाई है), जब वह एकत्रित होकर पूरा हो जाए और चौदहवीं का चाँद बन जाए। |
| Ayah 19 |
| عَرَبِي | لَتَركَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Latarkabunna tabaqan AAan tabaqin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Latarkabunna tabaqan 'an tabaq |
| English (Pickthall) | That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | [That] you will surely experience state after state. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | You, O man, will mount one state after another from a drop, then a clot, then a piece of flesh, then life, then death and then resurrection. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | निश्चय ही तुम्हें मंजिल पर मंजिल चढ़ना है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | कि तुम लोग ज़रूर एक सख्ती के बाद दूसरी सख्ती में फँसोगे |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | (ऐ लोगो!) तुम निश्चित रूप से एक अवस्था से दूसरी अवस्था में स्थानांतरित होते रहोगे; एक नुत्फ़ा से जमा हुआ रक्त, फिर गोश्त का टुकड़ा, फिर जीवन, फिर मृत्यु और फिर मरणोपरांत पुनर्जीवन। |
| Ayah 20 |
| عَرَبِي | فَما لَهُم لا يُؤمِنونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fama lahum la yuminoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Famaa lahum laa yu'minoon |
| English (Pickthall) | What aileth them, then, that they believe not |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | What is the matter with these disbelievers who do not have faith in Allah and the last day?! |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | फिर उन्हें क्या हो गया है कि ईमान नहीं लाते? |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो उन लोगों को क्या हो गया है कि ईमान नहीं ईमान नहीं लाते |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तो इन काफ़िरों को क्या हुआ है कि वे अल्लाह और आख़िरत के दिन पर ईमान नहीं लाते?! |
| Ayah 21 |
| عَرَبِي | وَإِذا قُرِئَ عَلَيهِمُ القُرآنُ لا يَسجُدونَ ۩ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waitha quria AAalayhimu alquranu la yasjudoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa izaa quri'a 'alaihimul Quraanu laa yasjudoon |
| English (Pickthall) | And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And when the Qur'an is read to them, they fall not prostrate, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | When the Qur’ān is recited to them, they do not prostrate to their Lord?! |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और जब उन्हें कुरआन पढ़कर सुनाया जाता है तो सजदे में नहीं गिर पड़ते? |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और जब उनके सामने क़ुरान पढ़ा जाता है तो (ख़ुदा का) सजदा नहीं करते (21) (सजदा) |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और जब उनके सामने क़ुरआन पढ़ा जाता है, तो वे अपने रब के आगे सजदा नहीं करते?! |
| Ayah 22 |
| عَرَبِي | بَلِ الَّذينَ كَفَروا يُكَذِّبونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Bali allatheena kafaroo yukaththiboona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Balil lazeena kafaroo yukazziboon |
| English (Pickthall) | Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | But those who have disbelieved deny, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | In fact, those who disbelieve reject what their messengers brought to them. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | नहीं, बल्कि इनकार करनेवाले तो झुठलाते है, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | बल्कि काफ़िर लोग तो (और उसे) झुठलाते हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | बल्कि जिन्होंने कुफ़्र किया, वे उस (क़ुरआन) को झुठलाते हैं, जो उनके रसूल उनके पास लेकर आए। |
| Ayah 23 |
| عَرَبِي | وَاللَّهُ أَعلَمُ بِما يوعونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | WaAllahu aAAlamu bima yooAAoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wallaahu a'lamu bimaa yoo'oon |
| English (Pickthall) | And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Allah knows well what is contained in their hearts. Nothing of their actions is hidden from Him. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | हालाँकि जो कुछ वे अपने अन्दर एकत्र कर रहे है, अल्लाह उसे भली-भाँति जानता है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और जो बातें ये लोग अपने दिलों में छिपाते हैं ख़ुदा उसे ख़ूब जानता है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और अल्लाह सबसे अधिक जानता है कि उनके सीनों में क्या है, उनके कार्यों में से कुछ भी उससे छिपा नहीं है। |
| Ayah 24 |
| عَرَبِي | فَبَشِّرهُم بِعَذابٍ أَليمٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fabashshirhum biAAathabin aleemin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fabashshirhum bi'azaabin aleem |
| English (Pickthall) | So give them tidings of a painful doom, |

| عَرَبِي | إِلَّا الَّذينَ آمَنوا وَعَمِلُوا الصّالِحاتِ لَهُم أَجرٌ غَيرُ مَمنونٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Illa allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lahum ajrun ghayru mamnoonin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Illal lazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati lahum ajrun ghairu mamnoon |
| English (Pickthall) | Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. |
