| عَرَبِي | أَلَم نَشرَح لَكَ صَدرَكَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Alam nashrah laka sadraka |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Alam nashrah laka sadrak |
| English (Pickthall) | Have We not caused thy bosom to dilate, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Have We not expanded thee thy breast?- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Did We not expand for you, [O Muhammad], your breast? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Verily, Allah has opened up your heart for you and made receiving revelation beloved to you. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | क्या ऐसा नहीं कि हमने तुम्हारा सीना तुम्हारे लिए खोल दिया? |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | (ऐ रसूल) क्या हमने तुम्हारा सीना इल्म से कुशादा नहीं कर दिया (जरूर किया) |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | निश्चय हमने आपके लिए आपका सीना खोल दिया। इसलिए हमने आपके लिए वह़्य (प्रकाशना) प्राप्त करना प्रिय बना दिया। |
| Ayah 2 |
| عَرَبِي | وَوَضَعنا عَنكَ وِزرَكَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | WawadaAAna AAanka wizraka |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa wa d'ana 'anka wizrak |
| English (Pickthall) | And eased thee of the burden |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And removed from thee thy burden |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And We removed from you your burden |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And I have removed sin from you. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और तुमपर से तुम्हारा बोझ उतार दिया, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और तुम पर से वह बोझ उतार दिया |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और हमने आपके पिछले पापों को क्षमा कर दिया, तथा आपके ऊपर से पूर्व-इस्लामिक युग के दिनों का बोझ हटा दिया, जिसमें आप थे। |
| Ayah 3 |
| عَرَبِي | الَّذي أَنقَضَ ظَهرَكَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Allathee anqada thahraka |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Allazee anqada zahrak |
| English (Pickthall) | Which weighed down thy back; |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | The which did gall thy back?- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Which had weighed upon your back |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | That which was burdening you to the extent that it almost broke your back. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | जो तुम्हारी कमर तोड़े डाल रहा था? |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | जिसने तुम्हारी कमर तोड़ रखी थी |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | जिसने आपको इतना थका दिया था कि लगभग वह आपकी कमर तोड़ने वाली थी। |
| Ayah 4 |
| عَرَبِي | وَرَفَعنا لَكَ ذِكرَكَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | WarafaAAna laka thikraka |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa raf 'ana laka zikrak |
| English (Pickthall) | And exalted thy fame? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And raised high the esteem (in which) thou (art held)? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And raised high for you your repute. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And I elevated for you your mention, so you are now remembered in the call to prayer, and the call preceding the prayer, and at other times. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और तुम्हारे लिए तुम्हारे ज़िक्र को ऊँचा कर दिया? |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और तुम्हारा ज़िक्र भी बुलन्द कर दिया |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और हमने आपकी ख़ातिर आपका ज़िक्र ऊँचा कर दिया। चुनाँचे अज़ान, इक़ामत और अन्य स्थानों में आपका ज़िक्र होता है। |
| Ayah 5 |
| عَرَبِي | فَإِنَّ مَعَ العُسرِ يُسرًا |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fainna maAAa alAAusri yusran |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fa inna ma'al usri yusra |
| English (Pickthall) | But lo! with hardship goeth ease, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | So, verily, with every difficulty, there is relief: |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | For indeed, with hardship [will be] ease. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Indeed, with difficulty and constraint, comes ease and options. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अतः निस्संदेह कठिनाई के साथ आसानी भी है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो (हाँ) पस बेशक दुशवारी के साथ ही आसानी है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | निश्चय हर कठिनाई और संकट के साथ एक आसानी और विस्तार (राहत) है। |
| Ayah 6 |
| عَرَبِي | إِنَّ مَعَ العُسرِ يُسرًا |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Inna maAAa alAAusri yusran |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Inna ma'al 'usri yusra |
| English (Pickthall) | Lo! with hardship goeth ease; |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Verily, with every difficulty there is relief. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Indeed, with hardship [will be] ease. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Indeed, with difficulty and constraint, comes ease and options; when you know that well, the troubling of your people will not terrify you and will not stop you from calling towards Allah. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | निस्संदेह कठिनाई के साथ आसानी भी है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | यक़ीनन दुश्वारी के साथ आसानी है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | निश्चय हर कठिनाई और संकट के साथ एक आसानी, विस्तार और राहत है। जब आपको यह मालूम हो गया, तो आप अपनी जाति के कष्ट पहुँचाने से भयभीत (चिंतित) न हों और यह आपको अल्लाह की ओर बुलाने से न रोके। |
| Ayah 7 |
| عَرَبِي | فَإِذا فَرَغتَ فَانصَب |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faitha faraghta fainsab |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fa iza faragh ta fansab |
| English (Pickthall) | So when thou art relieved, still toil |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Therefore, when thou art free (from thine immediate task), still labour hard, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | So when you have finished [your duties], then stand up [for worship]. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | So when you finish your work and complete it, strive in the worship of your Lord. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अतः जब निवृत हो तो परिश्रम में लग जाओ, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो जब तुम फारिग़ हो जाओ तो मुक़र्रर कर दो |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अतः जब आप अपने कामों से फ़ारिग़ हो जाएँ और उन्हें पूरा कर लें, तो अपने रब की इबादत में कड़ी मेहनत करें। |
| Ayah 8 |
| عَرَبِي | وَإِلىٰ رَبِّكَ فَارغَب |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waila rabbika fairghab |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa ilaa rabbika far ghab |
| English (Pickthall) | And strive to please thy Lord. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And to thy Lord turn (all) thy attention. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And to your Lord direct [your] longing. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And divert your passion and resolve towards Allah alone. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और अपने रब से लौ लगाओ |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और फिर अपने परवरदिगार की तरफ रग़बत करो |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और आप अपनी इच्छा और इरादे को केवल अल्लाह की ओर केंद्रित कर दें। |
