| English (Pickthall) | Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Calamity is! |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And what will explain to thee what the (Day) of Noise and Clamour is? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And what can make you know what is the Striking Calamity? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O Messenger! And what do you know of this hour that strikes the hearts of people because of the severity of its horrors? It is the Day of Judgement. |

| عَرَبِي | يَومَ يَكونُ النّاسُ كَالفَراشِ المَبثوثِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Yawma yakoonu alnnasu kaalfarashi almabthoothi |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Yauma ya koonun naasu kal farashil mabthooth |
| English (Pickthall) | A day wherein mankind will be as thickly-scattered moths |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | (It is) a Day whereon men will be like moths scattered about, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | It is the Day when people will be like moths, dispersed, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | On the day when the hearts of people will be struck, they will be like locusts, dispersed here and there. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | जिस दिन लोगों के दिल झंझोड़ दिए जाएँगे, तो वे इधर-उधर बिखरे हुए पतिंगों की तरह हो जाएँगे। |

| عَرَبِي | وَتَكونُ الجِبالُ كَالعِهنِ المَنفوشِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Watakoonu aljibalu kaalAAihni almanfooshi |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa ta koonul jibalu kal 'ihnil manfoosh |
| English (Pickthall) | And the mountains will become as carded wool. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And the mountains will be like carded wool. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And the mountains will be like wool, fluffed up. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And the mountains will be like carded wool, in the way they will move from their places with force. |

| عَرَبِي | فَأَمّا مَن ثَقُلَت مَوازينُهُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faamma man thaqulat mawazeenuhu |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fa-amma man thaqulat mawa zeenuh |
| English (Pickthall) | Then, as for him whose scales are heavy (with good works), |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Then, he whose balance (of good deeds) will be (found) heavy, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Then as for one whose scales are heavy [with good deeds], |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | As for the one whose good deeds will outweigh his evil deeds. |

| عَرَبِي | فَهُوَ في عيشَةٍ راضِيَةٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fahuwa fee AAeeshatin radiyatin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fahuwa fee 'ishatir raadiyah |
| English (Pickthall) | He will live a pleasant life. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Will be in a life of good pleasure and satisfaction. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | He will be in a pleasant life. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | He will live a contented life which he will achieve in Paradise. |

| عَرَبِي | وَأَمّا مَن خَفَّت مَوازينُهُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waamma man khaffat mawazeenuhu |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa amma man khaffat mawa zeenuh |
| English (Pickthall) | But as for him whose scales are light, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | But he whose balance (of good deeds) will be (found) light,- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | But as for one whose scales are light, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And as for the one whose evil deeds outweigh his good deeds. |

| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fa-ummuhu haawiyah |
| English (Pickthall) | A bereft and Hungry One will be his mother, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Will have his home in a (bottomless) Pit. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | His refuge will be an abyss. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | His abode and permanent resting place will be hell on the Day of Judgement. |
