| عَرَبِي | بَل عَجِبوا أَن جاءَهُم مُنذِرٌ مِنهُم فَقالَ الكافِرونَ هٰذا شَيءٌ عَجيبٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Bal AAajiboo an jaahum munthirun minhum faqala alkafiroona hatha shayon AAajeebun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Bal 'ajibooo an jaa'ahum munzirum minhum faqaalal kaafiroona haazaa shai'un 'ajeeb |
| English (Pickthall) | Nay, but they marvel that a warner of their own hath come unto them; and the disbelievers say: This is a strange thing: |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | उनके इनकार करने का कारण यह नहीं था कि वे आपसे झूठ बोलने की उम्मीद करते थे, क्योंकि वे आपकी सच्चाई जानते थे। बल्कि, उन्हें आश्चर्य हुआ कि उनके पास, फ़रिश्तों में से न होकर, उन्हीं में से एक डराने वाला रसूल आया। उन्होंने आश्चर्य चकित होकर कहा : एक मानव रसूल का हमारे पास आना बड़ी विचित्र बात है! |

| عَرَبِي | أَإِذا مِتنا وَكُنّا تُرابًا ۖ ذٰلِكَ رَجعٌ بَعيدٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Aitha mitna wakunna turaban thalika rajAAun baAAeedun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | 'A-izaa mitnaa wa kunnaa turaaban zaalika raj'um ba'eed |
| English (Pickthall) | When we are dead and have become dust (shall we be brought back again)? That would be a far return! |

| عَرَبِي | قَد عَلِمنا ما تَنقُصُ الأَرضُ مِنهُم ۖ وَعِندَنا كِتابٌ حَفيظٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Qad AAalimna ma tanqusu alardu minhum waAAindana kitabun hafeethun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Qad 'alimnaa maa tanqu-sul-ardu minhum wa 'indanaa Kitaabun Hafeez |
| English (Pickthall) | We know that which the earth taketh of them, and with Us is a recording Book. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | We already know how much of them the earth takes away: With Us is a record guarding (the full account). |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | निश्चय हमें मालूम है कि उनकी मृत्यु के बाद धरती उनके शरीर का क्या खाती और नष्ट करती है, उसमें से कुछ भी हमसे छिपा नहीं है। तथा हमारे पास एक पुस्तक है, जो उन सभी चीज़ों को सुरक्षित रखने वाली है, जो अल्लाह उनके जीवन के दौरान और उनकी मृत्यु के बाद उनके लिए निर्धारित करता है। |

| عَرَبِي | بَل كَذَّبوا بِالحَقِّ لَمّا جاءَهُم فَهُم في أَمرٍ مَريجٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Bal kaththaboo bialhaqqi lamma jaahum fahum fee amrin mareejin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Bal kazzaboo bilhaqqi lammaa jaaa'ahum fahum feee amrim mareej |
| English (Pickthall) | Nay, but they have denied the truth when it came unto them, therefor they are now in troubled case. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | बल्कि इन मुश्रिकों ने क़ुरआन को झुठला दिया, जब रसूल उसे उनके पास लेकर आए। अतः वे एक उलझी हुई स्थिति में हैं, उसके बारे में किसी एक चीज़ पर स्थिर नहीं हैं। |

| عَرَبِي | أَفَلَم يَنظُروا إِلَى السَّماءِ فَوقَهُم كَيفَ بَنَيناها وَزَيَّنّاها وَما لَها مِن فُروجٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Afalam yanthuroo ila alssamai fawqahum kayfa banaynaha wazayyannaha wama laha min furoojin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Afalam yanzurooo ilas samaaa'i fawqahum kaifa banainaahaa wa zaiyannaahaa wa maa lahaa min furooj |
| English (Pickthall) | Have they not then observed the sky above them, how We have constructed it and beautified it, and how there are no rifts therein? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Do they not look at the sky above them?- How We have made it and adorned it, and there are no flaws in it? |

The being who created this sky is not incapable of resurrecting the dead alive. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | क्या इन पुनर्जीवन का इनकार करने वालों ने अपने ऊपर फैले आकाश पर विचार नहीं किया कि हमने कैसे उसकी रचना की और उसे बनाया तथा उसे उन सितारों से सजाया, जो हमने उसमें रखे हैं, तथा उसमें कोई दरारें नहीं हैं, जो उसे दोषपूर्ण बनाती हों?! अतः जिसने इस आकाश को बनाया, वह मरे हुए लोगों को फिर से जीवित करने में असमर्थ नहीं है। |

| عَرَبِي | وَالأَرضَ مَدَدناها وَأَلقَينا فيها رَواسِيَ وَأَنبَتنا فيها مِن كُلِّ زَوجٍ بَهيجٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waalarda madadnaha waalqayna feeha rawasiya waanbatna feeha min kulli zawjin baheejin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wal arda madadnaahaa wa alqainaa feehaa rawaasiya wa ambatnaa feehaa min kulli zawjim baheej |
| English (Pickthall) | And the earth have We spread out, and have flung firm hills therein, and have caused of every lovely kind to grow thereon, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And the earth- We have spread it out, and set thereon mountains standing firm, and produced therein every kind of beautiful growth (in pairs)- |

| عَرَبِي | تَبصِرَةً وَذِكرىٰ لِكُلِّ عَبدٍ مُنيبٍ |

| عَرَبِي | وَنَزَّلنا مِنَ السَّماءِ ماءً مُبارَكًا فَأَنبَتنا بِهِ جَنّاتٍ وَحَبَّ الحَصيدِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wanazzalna mina alssamai maan mubarakan faanbatna bihi jannatin wahabba alhaseedi |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa nazzalnaa minas samaaa'i maaa'am mubaarakan fa ambatnaa bihee jannaatinw wa habbal haseed |
| English (Pickthall) | And We send down from the sky blessed water whereby We give growth unto gardens and the grain of crops, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And We send down from the sky rain charted with blessing, and We produce therewith gardens and Grain for harvests; |

| عَرَبِي | وَالنَّخلَ باسِقاتٍ لَها طَلعٌ نَضيدٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waalnnakhla basiqatin laha talAAun nadeedun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wannakhla baasiqaatil laha tal'un nadeed |
| English (Pickthall) | And lofty date-palms with ranged clusters, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And tall (and stately) palm-trees, with shoots of fruit-stalks, piled one over another;- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And lofty palm trees having fruit arranged in layers - |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | I also cause tall date palms to grow, which have closely arranged minute flowers, one above the other. |

| Ayah 11 |
| عَرَبِي | رِزقًا لِلعِبادِ ۖ وَأَحيَينا بِهِ بَلدَةً مَيتًا ۚ كَذٰلِكَ الخُروجُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Rizqan lilAAibadi waahyayna bihi baldatan maytan kathalika alkhurooju |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Rizqal lil'ibaad, wa ahyainaa bihee baldatam maitaa; kazaalikal khurooj |
| English (Pickthall) | Provision (made) for men; and therewith We quicken a dead land. Even so will be the resurrection of the dead. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | As sustenance for (Allah's) Servants;- and We give (new) life therewith to land that is dead: Thus will be the Resurrection. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | हमने इसमें से जो कुछ उगाया, उसे बंदों की रोज़ी के लिए उगाया, जिससे वे खाते हैं। और इसके साथ हमने एक ऐसे शहर को पुनर्जीवित कर दिया जिसमें कोई वनस्पति नहीं है। जिस तरह हमने इस बारिश से एक वनस्पति रहित शहर को पुनर्जीवित किया, उसी तरह हम मरे हुए लोगों को पुनर्जीवित करेंगे। चुनाँचे वे जीवित होकर बाहर निकलेंगे। |

| عَرَبِي | كَذَّبَت قَبلَهُم قَومُ نوحٍ وَأَصحابُ الرَّسِّ وَثَمودُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Kaththabat qablahum qawmu noohin waashabu alrrassi wathamoodu |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Kazzabat qablahum qawmu Noohinw wa Ashaabur Rassi wa Samood |
| English (Pickthall) | The folk of Noah denied (the truth) before them, and (so did) the dwellers at Ar-Rass and (the tribe of) Thamud, |

| عَرَبِي | وَعادٌ وَفِرعَونُ وَإِخوانُ لوطٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | WaAAadun wafirAAawnu waikhwanu lootin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa 'Aadunw wa Fir'awnu wikhwaanu loot |
| English (Pickthall) | And (the tribe of) A'ad, and Pharaoh, and the brethren of Lot, |

| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waashabu alaykati waqawmu tubbaAAin kullun kaththaba alrrusula fahaqqa waAAeedi |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa Ashaabul Aykati wa qawmu Tubba'; kullun kazzabar Rusula fahaqqa wa'eed |
| English (Pickthall) | And the dwellers in the wood, and the folk of Tubb'a: every one denied their messengers, therefor My threat took effect. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | The Companions of the Wood, and the People of Tubba'; each one (of them) rejected the messengers, and My warning was duly fulfilled (in them). |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | शुऐब अलैहिस्सलाम की जाति 'ऐका' वालों ने और यमन के राजा तुब्ब' की जाति के लोगों ने (अपने रसूल को) झुठलाया। इन सभी जातियों के लोगों ने अल्लाह के उन रसूलों को झुठलाया जिन्हें उसने भेजा था। सो उनपर अल्लाह के अज़ाब का वादा साबित (प्रमाणित) हो गया। |

| عَرَبِي | أَفَعَيينا بِالخَلقِ الأَوَّلِ ۚ بَل هُم في لَبسٍ مِن خَلقٍ جَديدٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | AfaAAayeena bialkhalqi alawwali bal hum fee labsin min khalqin jadeedin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Afa'a yeenaa bilkhalqil awwal; bal hum fee labsim min khalqin jadeed |
| English (Pickthall) | Were We then worn out by the first creation? Yet they are in doubt about a new creation. |

| عَرَبِي | وَلَقَد خَلَقنَا الإِنسانَ وَنَعلَمُ ما تُوَسوِسُ بِهِ نَفسُهُ ۖ وَنَحنُ أَقرَبُ إِلَيهِ مِن حَبلِ الوَريدِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Walaqad khalaqna alinsana wanaAAlamu ma tuwaswisu bihi nafsuhu wanahnu aqrabu ilayhi min habli alwareedi |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa laqad khalaqnal insaana wa na'lamu maa tuwaswisu bihee nafsuhoo wa Nahnu aqrabu ilaihi min hablil wareed |

| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wajaat sakratu almawti bialhaqqi thalika ma kunta minhu taheedu |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa jaaa'at sakratul mawti bilhaqq; zaalika maa kunta minhu taheed |
| English (Pickthall) | And the agony of death cometh in truth. (And it is said unto him): This is that which thou wast wont to shun. |

| عَرَبِي | وَنُفِخَ فِي الصّورِ ۚ ذٰلِكَ يَومُ الوَعيدِ |

| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa nufikha fis Soor; zaalika yawmul wa'eed |
| English (Pickthall) | And the trumpet is blown. This is the threatened Day. |

| English (Pickthall) | (And unto the evil-doer it is said): Thou wast in heedlessness of this. Now We have removed from thee thy covering, and piercing is thy sight this day. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और इस हाँककर लाए गए व्यक्ति से कहा जाएगा : निश्चय तुम दुनिया में इस दिन से बहुत ग़ाफ़िल थे; क्योंकि तुम अपनी इच्छाओं और सुखों से धोखा खा गए थे। अब तुम जिस यातना और पीड़ा को देख रहे हो, उसके द्वारा हमने तुम्हारी गफ़लत का परदा हटा दिया। सो आज तुम्हारी निगाह बड़ी तेज़ है, जिससे तुम उस चीज़ का बोध कर सकते हो, जिससे तुम गफ़लत में पड़े थे। |

| عَرَبِي | وَقالَ قَرينُهُ هٰذا ما لَدَيَّ عَتيدٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waqala qareenuhu hatha ma ladayya AAateedun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa qaala qareenuhoo haazaa maa ladaiya 'ateed |

| عَرَبِي | ۞ قالَ قَرينُهُ رَبَّنا ما أَطغَيتُهُ وَلٰكِن كانَ في ضَلالٍ بَعيدٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Qala qareenuhu rabbana ma atghaytuhu walakin kana fee dalalin baAAeedin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Qaala qareenuhoo Rabbanaa maaa atghaituhoo wa laakin kaana fee dalaahim ba'eed |
| English (Pickthall) | His comrade saith: Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel, but he was (himself) far gone in error. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | His Companion will say: "Our Lord! I did not make him transgress, but he was (himself) far astray." |

| عَرَبِي | قالَ لا تَختَصِموا لَدَيَّ وَقَد قَدَّمتُ إِلَيكُم بِالوَعيدِ |

| عَرَبِي | ما يُبَدَّلُ القَولُ لَدَيَّ وَما أَنا بِظَلّامٍ لِلعَبيدِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Ma yubaddalu alqawlu ladayya wama ana bithallamin lilAAabeedi |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Maa yubaddalul qawlu ladaiya wa maaa ana bizal laamil lil'abeed |
| English (Pickthall) | The sentence that cometh from Me cannot be changed, and I am in no wise a tyrant unto the slaves. |

| عَرَبِي | يَومَ نَقولُ لِجَهَنَّمَ هَلِ امتَلَأتِ وَتَقولُ هَل مِن مَزيدٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Yawma naqoolu lijahannama hali imtalati wataqoolu hal min mazeedin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Yawma naqoolu li'jahannama halim talaati wa taqoolu hal mim mazeed |
| English (Pickthall) | On the day when We say unto hell: Art thou filled? and it saith: Can there be more to come? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | One Day We will ask Hell, "Art thou filled to the full?" It will say, "Are there any more (to come)?" |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | On the Day We will say to Hell, "Have you been filled?" and it will say, "Are there some more," |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | On the Day I will say to Hell, “Have you been filled?” and it will say, “Are there some more,” On the day I will say to hell, “Are you full with all the disbelievers and sinners that have been thrown into you?” It will reply to its Lord, saying, “Is there any more?” asking for more, angry for its Lord. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | जिस दिन हम जहन्नम से कहेंगे, "क्या तू भर गई?" और वह कहेगी, "क्या अभी और भी कुछ है?" |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | उस दिन हम दोज़ख़ से पूछेंगे कि तू भर चुकी और वह कहेगी क्या कुछ और भी हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | जिस दिन हम जहन्नम से कहेंगे : क्या तू उन काफ़िरों और पापियों से भर गया, जो तेरे अंदर डाले गए हैं? तो वह अपने रब को जवाब देगा : क्या कुछ और भी है? उसका यह कहना अपने रब के लिए क्रोध के तौर पर वृद्धि के अनुरोध के लिए होगा। |
| Ayah 31 |
| عَرَبِي | وَأُزلِفَتِ الجَنَّةُ لِلمُتَّقينَ غَيرَ بَعيدٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waozlifati aljannatu lilmuttaqeena ghayra baAAeedin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa uzlifatil jannatu lil muttaqeena ghaira ba'eed |
| English (Pickthall) | And the Garden is brought nigh for those who kept from evil, no longer distant. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And the Garden will be brought nigh to the Righteous,- no more a thing distant. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And Paradise will be brought near to the righteous, not far, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And Paradise will be brought near to the righteous, not far, And Paradise will be brought close for those who were mindful of their Lord by fulfilling His commands and refraining from things he did not allow. They will see all the blessings within it, without it being far from them. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और जन्नत डर रखनेवालों के लिए निकट कर दी गई, कुछ भी दूर न रही |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और बेहिश्त परहेज़गारों के बिलकुल करीब कर दी जाएगी |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और जन्नत उन लोगों के लिए निकट कर दी जाएगी, जो अपने पालनहार से, उसके आदेशों का पालन करके और उसके निषेधों से परहेज़ करके, डरने वाले हैं। चुनाँचे वे उसमें मौजूद नेमतों को देखेंगे, वह उनसे दूर नहीं होगी। |

| عَرَبِي | هٰذا ما توعَدونَ لِكُلِّ أَوّابٍ حَفيظٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Hatha ma tooAAadoona likulli awwabin hafeethin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Haaza maa too'adoona likulli awwaabin hafeez |
| English (Pickthall) | (And it is said): This is that which ye were promised. (It is) for every penitent and heedful one, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | (A voice will say:) "This is what was promised for you,- for every one who turned (to Allah) in sincere repentance, who kept (His Law), |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | [It will be said], "This is what you were promised - for every returner [to Allah] and keeper [of His covenant] |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | [It will be said], “This is what you were promised - for every returner [to Allah] and keeper [of His covenant] It will be said to them: “This is what Allah promised every one of you who frequently repents to his Lord and upholds whatever his Lord made obligatory upon him.” |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | "यह है वह चीज़ जिसका तुमसे वादा किया जाता था हर रुजू करनेवाले, बड़ी निगरानी रखनेवाले के लिए; - |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | यही तो वह बेहिश्त है जिसका तुममें से हर एक (ख़ुदा की तरफ़) रूजू करने वाले (हुदूद की) हिफाज़त करने वाले से वायदा किया जाता है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और उनसे कहा जाएगा : यही है जिसका अल्लाह ने तुमसे वादा किया था, हर उस व्यक्ति के लिए जो अपने रब की ओर तौबा के द्वारा बहुत लौटने वाला है, उसके पालनहार ने उसे जिस चीज़ के लिए बाध्य किया है, उसका संरक्षण करने वाला है। |

| عَرَبِي | مَن خَشِيَ الرَّحمٰنَ بِالغَيبِ وَجاءَ بِقَلبٍ مُنيبٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Man khashiya alrrahmana bialghaybi wajaa biqalbin muneebin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Man khashiyar Rahmaana bilghaibi wa jaaa'a biqalbim muneeb |
| English (Pickthall) | Who feareth the Beneficent in secret and cometh with a contrite heart. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | "Who feared (Allah) Most Gracious Unseen, and brought a heart turned in devotion (to Him): |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Who feared the Most Merciful unseen and came with a heart returning [in repentance]. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Who feared the Merciful in private and came with a heart repenting heart. Whoever fears Allah in private, where none can see him except Allah, and meets Allah with a pure heart while having frequently turned to Him in humility. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | जो परोक्ष में अल्लाह से डरा, जहाँ उसे अल्लाह के सिवा कोई नहीं देखता, और अल्लाह से ऐसे शुद्ध हृदय के साथ मिला, जो अल्लाह की ओर ध्यान करने वाला और उसकी ओर बहुत ज़्यादा लौटने वाला है। |

| عَرَبِي | ادخُلوها بِسَلامٍ ۖ ذٰلِكَ يَومُ الخُلودِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Odkhulooha bisalamin thalika yawmu alkhuloodi |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Udkhuloohaa bisalaamin zaalika yawmul khulood |
| English (Pickthall) | Enter it in peace. This is the day of immortality. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | "Enter ye therein in Peace and Security; this is a Day of Eternal Life!" |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Enter it in peace. This is the Day of Eternity." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Enter it in peace. This is the Day of Eternity.” It will be said to them: “Enter into Paradise in total safety from everything you dislike. It is a day of eternity, one which is everlasting.” |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | उनसे कहा जाएगा : जिस चीज़ को तुम नापसंद करते हो, उससे सुरक्षा और सलामती के साथ जन्नत में प्रवेश कर जाओ। यही हमेशा रहने का दिन है, जिसके बाद कोई विनाश नहीं है। |
| Ayah 35 |
| عَرَبِي | لَهُم ما يَشاءونَ فيها وَلَدَينا مَزيدٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Lahum ma yashaoona feeha waladayna mazeedun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Lahum maa yashaaa'oona feehaa wa ladainaa mazeed |
| English (Pickthall) | There they have all that they desire, and there is more with Us. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | There will be for them therein all that they wish,- and more besides in Our Presence. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | They will have whatever they wish therein, and with Us is more. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | They will have whatever they wish therein, and with Me is more. They will have every everlasting blessing they desire in it, and I have many more blessings for them that no eye has ever seen, nor any ear has ever heard of, nor any heart of man has ever imagined. One of them is seeing Me may I be glorified. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | उनके लिए उसमें वह सब कुछ है जो वे चाहे और हमारे पास उससे अधिक भी है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | इसमें ये लोग जो चाहेंगे उनके लिए हाज़िर है और हमारे यहॉ तो इससे भी ज्यादा है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | उनके लिए उसके अंदर वह सारी अनंत नेमतें होंगी, जो वे चाहेंगे। और हमारे पास इससे भी अधिक ऐसी नेमतें हैं, जिन्हें न किसी आँख ने देखा है, न किसी कान ने सुना है और न किसी मानव हृदय ने कभी सोचा है, और इसी में - सबसे महान - सर्वशक्तिमान अल्लाह का दर्शन शामिल है। |
| Ayah 36 |
| عَرَبِي | وَكَم أَهلَكنا قَبلَهُم مِن قَرنٍ هُم أَشَدُّ مِنهُم بَطشًا فَنَقَّبوا فِي البِلادِ هَل مِن مَحيصٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wakam ahlakna qablahum min qarnin hum ashaddu minhum batshan fanaqqaboo fee albiladi hal min maheesin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa kam ahlaknaa qablahum min qarnin hum ashaddu minhum batshan fanaqqaboo fil bilaad, hal mim mahees |
| English (Pickthall) | And how many a generation We destroyed before them, who were mightier than these in prowess so that they overran the lands! Had they any place of refuge (when the judgment came)? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | But how many generations before them did We destroy (for their sins),- stronger in power than they? Then did they wander through the land: was there any place of escape (for them)? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And how many a generation before them did We destroy who were greater than them in [striking] power and had explored throughout the lands. Is there any place of escape? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | How many nations there were which I destroyed before these denying idolaters amongst the people of Makkah. They searched in the lands hoping to find a place to run to, but they did not find it. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | उनसे पहले हम कितनी ही नस्लों को विनष्ट कर चुके है। वे लोग शक्ति में उनसे कहीं बढ़-चढ़कर थे। (पनाह की तलाश में) उन्होंने नगरों को छान मारा, कोई है भागने को ठिकाना? |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और हमने तो इनसे पहले कितनी उम्मतें हलाक कर डाली जो इनसे क़ूवत में कहीं बढ़ कर थीं तो उन लोगों ने (मौत के ख़ौफ से) तमाम शहरों को छान मारा कि भला कहीं भी भागने का ठिकाना है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | हमने मक्का के इन झुठलाने वाले मुश्रिकों से पहले कितने ही समुदायों को विनष्ट कर दिया, जो इनसे अधिक शक्तिशाली थे। उन्होंने नगरों को छान मारा, शायद उन्हें यातना से भागने का कोई स्थान मिल जाए, पर उन्हें वह नहीं मिला। |
| Ayah 37 |
| عَرَبِي | إِنَّ في ذٰلِكَ لَذِكرىٰ لِمَن كانَ لَهُ قَلبٌ أَو أَلقَى السَّمعَ وَهُوَ شَهيدٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Inna fee thalika lathikra liman kana lahu qalbun aw alqa alssamAAa wahuwa shaheedun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Inna fee zaalika lazikraa liman kaana lahoo qalbun aw alqas sam'a wa huwa shaheed |
| English (Pickthall) | Lo! therein verily is a reminder for him who hath a heart, or giveth ear with full intelligence. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Verily in this is a Message for any that has a heart and understanding or who gives ear and earnestly witnesses (the truth). |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Indeed in that is a reminder for whoever has a heart or who listens while he is present [in mind]. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | In that destruction of the previous nations which has been mentioned are a reminder and lesson for one who has a heart to understand with, or who listens attentively with presence of mind, and not absentmindedly. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | निश्चय ही इसमें उस व्यक्ति के लिए शिक्षा-सामग्री है जिसके पास दिल हो या वह (दिल से) हाजिर रहकर कान लगाए |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | इसमें शक़ नहीं कि जो शख़्श (आगाह) दिल रखता है या कान लगाकर हुज़ूरे क़ल्ब से सुनता है उसके लिए इसमें (काफ़ी) नसीहत है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | पिछले समुदायों के विनाश का जो यह उल्लेख किया गया है, निश्चय ही इसमें उस व्यक्ति के लिए याद-दहानी और उपदेश है, जिसके पास समझने वाला दिल हो, या वह उसपर अपना कान लगाए इस हाल में कि उसका दिल उपस्थित हो, असावधान न हो। |
| Ayah 38 |
| عَرَبِي | وَلَقَد خَلَقنَا السَّماواتِ وَالأَرضَ وَما بَينَهُما في سِتَّةِ أَيّامٍ وَما مَسَّنا مِن لُغوبٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Walaqad khalaqna alssamawati waalarda wama baynahuma fee sittati ayyamin wama massana min lughoobin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa laqad khalaqnas samaawaati wal arda wa maa bainahumaa fee sittati ayyaamin wa maa massanaa mil lughoob |
| English (Pickthall) | And verily We created the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, in six Days, and naught of weariness touched Us. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | We created the heavens and the earth and all between them in Six Days, nor did any sense of weariness touch Us. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And We did certainly create the heavens and earth and what is between them in six days, and there touched Us no weariness. |

| عَرَبِي | فَاصبِر عَلىٰ ما يَقولونَ وَسَبِّح بِحَمدِ رَبِّكَ قَبلَ طُلوعِ الشَّمسِ وَقَبلَ الغُروبِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faisbir AAala ma yaqooloona wasabbih bihamdi rabbika qabla tulooAAi alshshamsi waqabla alghuroobi |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fasbir 'alaa maa yaqooloona wa sabbih bihamdi Rabbika qabla tuloo'ish shamsi wa qablal ghuroob |
| English (Pickthall) | Therefor (O Muhammad) bear with what they say, and hymn the praise of thy Lord before the rising and before the setting of the sun; |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Bear, then, with patience, all that they say, and celebrate the praises of thy Lord, before the rising of the sun and before (its) setting. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | So be patient, [O Muhammad], over what they say and exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting, |

| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो (ऐ रसूल) जो कुछ ये (काफ़िर) लोग किया करते हैं उस पर तुम सब्र करो और आफ़ताब के निकलने से पहले अपने परवरदिगार के हम्द की तस्बीह किया करो |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अतः जो कुछ यहूदी और अन्य लोग कहते हैं, (ऐ रसूल!) आप उसपर धैर्य रखें और अपने रब के लिए, उसकी प्रशंसा करते हुए, सूर्योदय से पहले फ़ज्र की नमाज़ पढ़ें और उसके अस्त होने से पहले अस्र की नमाज़ पढ़ें। |
| Ayah 40 |
| عَرَبِي | وَمِنَ اللَّيلِ فَسَبِّحهُ وَأَدبارَ السُّجودِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wamina allayli fasabbihhu waadbara alssujoodi |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa minal laili fasabbih hu wa adbaaras sujood |
| English (Pickthall) | And in the night-time hymn His praise, and after the (prescribed) prostrations. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And during part of the night, (also,) celebrate His praises, and (so likewise) after the postures of adoration. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And [in part] of the night exalt Him and after prostration. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Glorify Him at night and after the prayers. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और रात की घड़ियों में फिर उसकी तसबीह करो और सजदों के पश्चात भी |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और थोड़ी देर रात को भी और नमाज़ के बाद भी उसकी तस्बीह करो |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और रात के कुछ भाग में फिर उसके लिए नमाज़ पढ़ें और नमाज़ों के बाद उसकी पवित्रता (तसबीह) का वर्णन करें। |
| Ayah 41 |
| عَرَبِي | وَاستَمِع يَومَ يُنادِ المُنادِ مِن مَكانٍ قَريبٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | WaistamiAA yawma yunadi almunadi min makanin qareebin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wastami' yawma yunaa dil munaadi mim makaanin qareeb |
| English (Pickthall) | And listen on the day when the crier crieth from a near place, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And listen for the Day when the Caller will call out from a place quiet near,- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And listen on the Day when the Caller will call out from a place that is near - |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O Messenger, listen on the day when the angel appointed to blow the trumpet a second time calls from a close place. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और कान लगाकर सुन लेगा जिस दिन पुकारनेवाला अत्यन्त निकट के स्थान से पुकारेगा, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और कान लगा कर सुन रखो कि जिस दिन पुकारने वाला (इसराफ़ील) नज़दीक ही जगह से आवाज़ देगा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और (ऐ रसूल!) ध्यान से सुनें, जिस दिन सूर में दूसरी बार फूँक मारने पर नियुक्त फ़रिश्ता निकट स्थान से आवाज़ देगा। |
| Ayah 42 |
| عَرَبِي | يَومَ يَسمَعونَ الصَّيحَةَ بِالحَقِّ ۚ ذٰلِكَ يَومُ الخُروجِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Yawma yasmaAAoona alssayhata bialhaqqi thalika yawmu alkhurooji |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Yawma yasmaoonas sai hata bilhaqq zaalika yawmul khurooj |
| English (Pickthall) | The day when they will hear the (Awful) Cry in truth. That is the day of coming forth (from the graves). |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | The Day when they will hear a (mighty) Blast in (very) truth: that will be the Day of Resurrection. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | The Day they will hear the blast [of the Horn] in truth. That is the Day of Emergence [from the graves]. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | On the day the creation will hear the blast of the resurrection, in truth without any doubt. That day which they will hear it in is the day the dead will come out of their graves for the accounting and resurrection. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | जिस दिन लोग भयंकर चीख़ को सत्यतः सुन रहे होंगे। वही दिन होगा निकलने का।- |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | (कि उठो) जिस दिन लोग एक सख्त चीख़ को बाख़ूबी सुन लेगें वही दिन (लोगों) के कब्रों से निकलने का होगा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | जिस दिन सभी लोग दोबारा जीवित होकर उठने की तेज़ आवाज़ को उस सत्य के साथ सुनेंगे जिसमें कोई संदेह नहीं। जिस दिन लोग यह आवाज़ सुनेंगे, वही मरे हुए लोगों के अपनी कब्रों से हिसाब और बदले के लिए निकलने का दिन है। |
| Ayah 43 |
| عَرَبِي | إِنّا نَحنُ نُحيي وَنُميتُ وَإِلَينَا المَصيرُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Inna nahnu nuhyee wanumeetu wailayna almaseeru |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Innaa Nahnu nuhyee wa numeetu wa ilainal maseer |
| English (Pickthall) | Lo! We it is Who quicken and give death, and unto Us is the journeying. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Verily it is We Who give Life and Death; and to Us is the Final Goal- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Indeed, it is We who give life and cause death, and to Us is the destination |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | It is I who gives life and death. There is nobody to give life and death besides Me. And to Me alone is the return of the servants on the day of judgment. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | हम ही जीलन प्रदान करते और मृत्यु देते है और हमारी ही ओर अन्ततः आना है। - |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | निश्चय हम ही जीवन देते हैं और हम ही मारते हैं। हमारे सिवा न कोई जीवन देने वाला है और न मारने वाला है। और बंदों को क़ियामत के दिन हिसाब और बदले के लिए केवल हमारी ही ओर लौटकर आना है। |
| Ayah 44 |
| عَرَبِي | يَومَ تَشَقَّقُ الأَرضُ عَنهُم سِراعًا ۚ ذٰلِكَ حَشرٌ عَلَينا يَسيرٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Yawma tashaqqaqu alardu AAanhum siraAAan thalika hashrun AAalayna yaseerun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Yawma tashaqqaqul ardu 'anhum siraa'aa; zaalika hashrun 'alainaa yaseer |
| English (Pickthall) | On the day when the earth splitteth asunder from them, hastening forth (they come). That is a gathering easy for Us (to make). |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | The Day when the Earth will be rent asunder, from (men) hurrying out: that will be a gathering together,- quite easy for Us. |

| Ayah 45 |
| عَرَبِي | نَحنُ أَعلَمُ بِما يَقولونَ ۖ وَما أَنتَ عَلَيهِم بِجَبّارٍ ۖ فَذَكِّر بِالقُرآنِ مَن يَخافُ وَعيدِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Nahnu aAAlamu bima yaqooloona wama anta AAalayhim bijabbarin fathakkir bialqurani man yakhafu waAAeedi |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Nahnu a'lamu bimaa yaqooloona wa maaa anta 'alihim bijabbaarin fazakkir bil quraani many yakhaafu wa'eed |
| English (Pickthall) | We are Best Aware of what they say, and thou (O Muhammad) art in no wise a compeller over them. But warn by the Qur'an him who feareth My threat. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | We know best what they say; and thou art not one to overawe them by force. So admonish with the Qur'an such as fear My Warning! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | We are most knowing of what they say, and you are not over them a tyrant. But remind by the Qur'an whoever fears My threat. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | I know best what these deniers say. And you are not imposed on them, O Messenger, to force them to accept faith. You are only a conveyer of what Allah has ordered you to convey, so remind through the Qur’ān he who fears my warning to the disbelievers and the sinful, because the fearful is the one who takes advice and takes reminders when reminded. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | हम उसे अधिक जानने वाले हैं, जो कुछ ये झुठलाने वाले कहते हैं। और (ऐ रसूल!) आप उनपर कोई थोपे हुए नहीं हैं कि उन्हें ईमान लाने पर मजबूर करें। आप तो केवल उस चीज़ को पहुँचाने वाले हैं, जिसे पहुँचाने का अल्लाह ने आपको आदेश दिया है। अतः आप क़ुरआन के साथ उस व्यक्ति को उपदेश दें, जो काफ़िरों और अवज्ञाकारियों के लिए मेरी धमकी से डरता है; क्योंकि डरने वाला ही याद दिलाए जाने (उपदेश दिए जाने) पर याद करता और उपदेश ग्रहण करता है। |
