| Ayah 1 |
| عَرَبِي | وَالنَّجمِ إِذا هَوىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waalnnajmi itha hawa |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wannajmi izaa hawaa |
| English (Pickthall) | By the Star when it setteth, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | By the Star when it goes down,- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | By the star when it descends, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | He (may He be glorified) swore by the star when it descends. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | गवाह है तारा, जब वह नीचे को आए |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तारे की क़सम जब टूटा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अल्लाह ने सितारे की क़सम खाई है, जब वह गिरे। |
| Ayah 2 |
| عَرَبِي | ما ضَلَّ صاحِبُكُم وَما غَوىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Ma dalla sahibukum wama ghawa |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Maa dalla saahibukum wa maa ghawaa |
| English (Pickthall) | Your comrade erreth not, nor is deceived; |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Your Companion is neither astray nor being misled. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Your companion [Muhammad] has not strayed, nor has he erred, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Muhammad (peace be upon him) the Messenger of Allah did not deviate from the path of guidance nor did he go astray, but rather he is rightly-guided. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | तुम्हारी साथी (मुहम्मह सल्ल॰) न गुमराह हुआ और न बहका; |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | कि तुम्हारे रफ़ीक़ (मोहम्मद) न गुमराह हुए और न बहके |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | मुहम्मद सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि व सल्लम न हिदायत के रास्ते से भठके हैं और न टेढ़ी राह पर चले हैं, बल्कि वह सीधे रास्ते पर क़ायम हैं। |
| Ayah 3 |
| عَرَبِي | وَما يَنطِقُ عَنِ الهَوىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wama yantiqu AAani alhawa |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa maa yyantiqu 'anilhawaaa |
| English (Pickthall) | Nor doth he speak of (his own) desire. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Nor does he say (aught) of (his own) Desire. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Nor does he speak from [his own] inclination. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And he did not speak this Qur’ān out of following his desires. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और न वह अपनी इच्छा से बोलता है; |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और वह तो अपनी नफ़सियानी ख्वाहिश से कुछ भी नहीं कहते |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और वह इस क़ुरआन को अपनी इच्छा से नहीं बोलते हैं। |
| Ayah 4 |
| عَرَبِي | إِن هُوَ إِلّا وَحيٌ يوحىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | In huwa illa wahyun yooha |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | In huwa illaa Wahyuny yoohaa |
| English (Pickthall) | It is naught save an inspiration that is inspired, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | It is no less than inspiration sent down to him: |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | It is not but a revelation revealed, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | This Qur’ān is nothing but a revelation which Allah revealed to him through the medium of Gabriel (peace be upon him) |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | वह तो बस एक प्रकाशना है, जो की जा रही है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | ये तो बस वही है जो भेजी जाती है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | यह क़ुरआन तो केवल वह़्य (प्रकाशना) है, जिसे अल्लाह जिबरील अलैहिस्सलाम के माध्यम से आप (सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि व सल्लम) पर उतारता है। |
| Ayah 5 |
| عَرَبِي | عَلَّمَهُ شَديدُ القُوىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | AAallamahu shadeedu alquwa |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | 'Allamahoo shadeedul quwaa |
| English (Pickthall) | Which one of mighty powers hath taught him, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | He was taught by one Mighty in Power, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Taught to him by one intense in strength - |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | An angel of great strength, Gabriel (peace be upon him), taught him it. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | उसे बड़ी शक्तियोंवाले ने सिखाया, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | इनको निहायत ताक़तवर (फ़रिश्ते जिबरील) ने तालीम दी है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | उसे आप (सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि व सल्लम) को एक बहुत मज़बूत शक्ति वाले फ़रिश्ते अर्थात् जिबरील अलैहिस्सलाम ने सिखाया है। |
| Ayah 6 |
| عَرَبِي | ذو مِرَّةٍ فَاستَوىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Thoo mirratin faistawa |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Zoo mirratin fastawaa |
| English (Pickthall) | One vigorous; and he grew clear to view |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Endued with Wisdom: for he appeared (in stately form); |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | One of soundness. And he rose to [his] true form |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And Gabriel (peace be upon him) is of excellent form, so he rose up appearing to the Prophet (peace be upon him) in his form in which Allah created him. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | स्थिर रीतिवाले ने। |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | जो बड़ा ज़बरदस्त है और जब ये (आसमान के) ऊँचे (मुशरक़ो) किनारे पर था तो वह अपनी (असली सूरत में) सीधा खड़ा हुआ |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | जिबरील अलैहिस्सलाम अच्छी आकृति वाले हैं। चुनाँचे वह अपने उस मूल स्वरूप में जिसमें अल्लाह ने उन्हें बनाया है, नबी सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि व सल्लम के सामने प्रकट हुए। |
| Ayah 7 |
| عَرَبِي | وَهُوَ بِالأُفُقِ الأَعلىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wahuwa bialofuqi alaAAla |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa huwa bil ufuqil a'laa |
| English (Pickthall) | When he was on the uppermost horizon. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | While he was in the highest part of the horizon: |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | While he was in the higher [part of the] horizon. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Whilst he was on the highest horizon. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अतः वह भरपूर हुआ, इस हाल में कि वह क्षितिज के उच्चतम छोर पर है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | फिर करीब हो (और आगे) बढ़ा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और जिबरील अलैहिस्सलाम आकाश के सब से ऊँचे क्षितिज (किनारे) पर थे। |
| Ayah 8 |
| عَرَبِي | ثُمَّ دَنا فَتَدَلّىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Thumma dana fatadalla |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Summa danaa fatadalla |
| English (Pickthall) | Then he drew nigh and came down |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Then he approached and came closer, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Then he approached and descended |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Then Gabriel (peace be upon him) came close to the Prophet (peace be upon him), then he came even closer. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | फिर वह निकट हुआ और उतर गया |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | (फिर जिबरील व मोहम्मद में) दो कमान का फ़ासला रह गया |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | फिर जिबरील अलैहिस्सलाम नबी सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि व सल्लम के निकट आए, सो वह आपके और भी करीब हो गए। |
| Ayah 9 |
| عَرَبِي | فَكانَ قابَ قَوسَينِ أَو أَدنىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fakana qaba qawsayni aw adna |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fakaana qaaba qawsaini aw adnaa |
| English (Pickthall) | Till he was (distant) two bows' length or even nearer, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And was at a distance of but two bow-lengths or (even) nearer; |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And was at a distance of two bow lengths or nearer. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | So his closeness to him was the distance of two bow lengths or even closer. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अब दो कमानों के बराबर या उससे भी अधिक निकट हो गया |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | बल्कि इससे भी क़रीब था |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | फिर आपसे उनकी निकटता दो कमानों के बराबर थी या वह उससे भी अधिक निकट थे। |
| Ayah 10 |
| عَرَبِي | فَأَوحىٰ إِلىٰ عَبدِهِ ما أَوحىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faawha ila AAabdihi ma awha |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fa awhaaa ilaa 'abdihee maaa awhaa |
| English (Pickthall) | And He revealed unto His slave that which He revealed. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | So did (Allah) convey the inspiration to His Servant- (conveyed) what He (meant) to convey. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And he revealed to His Servant what he revealed. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | So Gabriel (peace be upon him) revealed to Allah’s servant, Muhammad (peace be upon him), what he revealed. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | तब उसने अपने बन्दे की ओर प्रकाशना की, जो कुछ प्रकाशना की। |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | ख़ुदा ने अपने बन्दे की तरफ जो 'वही' भेजी सो भेजी |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | फिर जिबरील ने अल्लाह के बंदे मुहम्मद सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि वसल्लम की ओर वह़्य की, जो भी वह़्य की। |
| Ayah 11 |
| عَرَبِي | ما كَذَبَ الفُؤادُ ما رَأىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Ma kathaba alfuadu ma raa |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Maa kazabal fu'aadu maa ra aa |
| English (Pickthall) | The heart lied not (in seeing) what it saw. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | The (Prophet's) (mind and) heart in no way falsified that which he saw. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | The heart did not lie [about] what it saw. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | The heart of Muhammad (peace be upon him) did not lie about what his eye saw. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | दिल ने कोई धोखा नहीं दिया, जो कुछ उसने देखा; |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो जो कुछ उन्होने देखा उनके दिल ने झूठ न जाना |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | मुहम्मद सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि वसल्लम के दिल ने उसे झूठ नहीं कहा जो आपकी आँखों ने देखा। |
| Ayah 12 |
| عَرَبِي | أَفَتُمارونَهُ عَلىٰ ما يَرىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Afatumaroonahu AAala ma yara |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Afatumaaroonahoo 'alaa maayaraa |
| English (Pickthall) | Will ye then dispute with him concerning what he seeth? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Will ye then dispute with him concerning what he saw? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | So will you dispute with him over what he saw? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | So do you, O idolaters, argue with him about what he saw on the night he was taken on the journey? |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अब क्या तुम उस चीज़ पर झगड़ते हो, जिसे वह देख रहा है? - |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो क्या वह (रसूल) जो कुछ देखता है तुम लोग उसमें झगड़ते हो |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | फिर क्या (ऐ मुश्रिको!) तुम मुहम्मद सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि व सल्लम से उस चीज़ के बारे में झगड़ते हो, जो अल्लाह ने उन्हें 'इसरा' की रात को दिखाया?! |
| Ayah 13 |
| عَرَبِي | وَلَقَد رَآهُ نَزلَةً أُخرىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Walaqad raahu nazlatan okhra |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa laqad ra aahu nazlatan ukhraa |
| English (Pickthall) | And verily he saw him yet another time |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | For indeed he saw him at a second descent, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And he certainly saw him in another descent |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And Muhammad (peace be upon him) had seen Gabriel (peace be upon him) in his true form another time on the night he was taken for the journey. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और निश्चय ही वह उसे एक बार और |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और उन्होने तो उस (जिबरील) को एक बार (शबे मेराज) और देखा है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | हालाँकि निश्चय मुहम्मद सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि व सल्लम ने जिबरील को उनके असली रूप में एक और बार 'इसरा' की रात में देखा है। |
| Ayah 14 |
| عَرَبِي | عِندَ سِدرَةِ المُنتَهىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | AAinda sidrati almuntaha |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | 'Inda sidratil muntaha |
| English (Pickthall) | By the lote-tree of the utmost boundary, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Near the Lote-tree beyond which none may pass: |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | At the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary - |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | By the lote tree of the utmost boundary, which is a tree on the seventh heaven. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | 'सिदरतुल मुन्तहा' (परली सीमा के बेर) के पास उतरते देख चुका है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | सिदरतुल मुनतहा के नज़दीक |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | सिदरतुल मुनतहा' के पास। 'सिदरतुल मुनतहा' एक बहुत ही बड़ा पेड़ है, जो सातवें आसमान में है। |
| Ayah 15 |
| عَرَبِي | عِندَها جَنَّةُ المَأوىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | AAindaha jannatu almawa |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | 'Indahaa jannatul maawaa |
| English (Pickthall) | Nigh unto which is the Garden of Abode. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Near it is the Garden of Abode. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Near it is the Garden of Refuge - |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | By this tree is the Garden of Refuge. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | उसी के निकट 'जन्नतुल मावा' (ठिकानेवाली जन्नत) है। - |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | उसी के पास तो रहने की बेहिश्त है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | इसी पेड़ के पास 'जन्नतुल मावा' है। |
| Ayah 16 |
| عَرَبِي | إِذ يَغشَى السِّدرَةَ ما يَغشىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Ith yaghsha alssidrata ma yaghsha |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Iz yaghshas sidrata maa yaghshaa |
| English (Pickthall) | When that which shroudeth did enshroud the lote-tree, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Behold, the Lote-tree was shrouded (in mystery unspeakable!) |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | When there covered the Lote Tree that which covered [it]. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | When the lote tree was covered through the command of Allah by something great whose true nature only Allah knows. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | जबकि छा रहा था उस बेर पर, जो कुछ छा रहा था |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | जब छा रहा था सिदरा पर जो छा रहा था |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | जब 'सिदरा' पर अल्लाह के आदेश से एक महान वस्तु छा रही थी, जिसकी वास्तविकता केवल अल्लाह ही जानता है। |
| Ayah 17 |
| عَرَبِي | ما زاغَ البَصَرُ وَما طَغىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Ma zagha albasaru wama tagha |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Maa zaaghal basaru wa maa taghaa |
| English (Pickthall) | The eye turned not aside nor yet was overbold. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | (His) sight never swerved, nor did it go wrong! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | The sight [of the Prophet] did not swerve, nor did it transgress [its limit]. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | The eye of Muhammad (peace be upon him) did not swerve left or right, nor did it trespass what was fixed for it. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | निगाह न तो टेढ़ी हुइ और न हद से आगे बढ़ी |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | (उस वक्त भी) उनकी ऑंख न तो और तरफ़ माएल हुई और न हद से आगे बढ़ी |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | मुहम्मद सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि व सल्लम की निगाह दाएँ-बाएँ नहीं गई और न उस सीमा से आगे बढ़ी, जो उनके लिए निर्धारित की गई थी। |
| Ayah 18 |
| عَرَبِي | لَقَد رَأىٰ مِن آياتِ رَبِّهِ الكُبرىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Laqad raa min ayati rabbihi alkubra |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Laqad ra aa min aayaati Rabbihil kubraaa |
| English (Pickthall) | Verily he saw one of the greater revelations of his Lord. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | For truly did he see, of the Signs of his Lord, the Greatest! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | He certainly saw of the greatest signs of his Lord. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Muhammad (peace be upon him) saw on the night he was raised great signs of his Lord which show His power. He saw Paradise, hell and other things. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | निश्चय ही उसने अपने रब की बड़ी-बड़ी निशानियाँ देखीं |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और उन्होने यक़ीनन अपने परवरदिगार (की क़ुदरत) की बड़ी बड़ी निशानियाँ देखीं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | मुहम्मद सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि व सल्लम ने 'मे'राज' की रात अपने पालनहार की कुछ बड़ी-बड़ी निशानियाँ देखीं, जो उसकी शक्ति का संकेत देती हैं। चुनाँचे आपने जन्नत, जहन्नम और अन्य कई चीज़ें देखीं। |
| Ayah 19 |
| عَرَبِي | أَفَرَأَيتُمُ اللّاتَ وَالعُزّىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Afaraaytumu allata waalAAuzza |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Afara'aytumul laata wal 'uzzaa |
| English (Pickthall) | Have ye thought upon Al-Lat and Al-'Uzza |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Have ye seen Lat. and 'Uzza, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | So have you considered al-Lat and al-'Uzza? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Have you, O idolaters, seen these idols that you worship besides Allah: Lat and Uzza |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | तो क्या तुमने लात और उज़्ज़ा |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो भला तुम लोगों ने लात व उज्ज़ा और तीसरे पिछले मनात को देखा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | फिर क्या (ऐ मुश्रिको!) तुमने इन मूर्तियों : लात और उज़्ज़ा के बारे में सोचा, जिन्हें तुम अल्लाह के अलावा पूजते हो?! |
| Ayah 20 |
| عَرَبِي | وَمَناةَ الثّالِثَةَ الأُخرىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wamanata alththalithata alokhra |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa manaatas saalisatal ukhraa |
| English (Pickthall) | And Manat, the third, the other? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And another, the third (goddess), Manat? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And Manat, the third - the other one? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And Manat, another third one amongst your idols? Tell me do they possess any benefit or harm for him? |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और तीसरी एक और (देवी) मनात पर विचार किया? |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | (भला ये ख़ुदा हो सकते हैं) |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तथा (क्या तुमने) अपनी मूर्तियों में से एक तीसरी मूर्ति मनात पर (विचार किया?)।मुझे बताओ कि क्या ये तुम्हारे लिए किसी लाभ या हानि की मालिक हैं?! |
| Ayah 21 |
| عَرَبِي | أَلَكُمُ الذَّكَرُ وَلَهُ الأُنثىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Alakumu alththakaru walahu alontha |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | A-lakumuz zakaru wa lahul unsaa |
| English (Pickthall) | Are yours the males and His the females? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | What! for you the male sex, and for Him, the female? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Is the male for you and for Him the female? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O idolaters, do you have boys whom you like, whilst He (may He be glorified) has girls which you dislike? |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | क्या तुम्हारे लिए तो बेटे है उनके लिए बेटियाँ? |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | क्या तुम्हारे तो बेटे हैं और उसके लिए बेटियाँ |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | क्या (ऐ मुश्रिको!) तुम्हारे लिए लड़का है, जो तुम्हें पसंद है और पवित्र अल्लाह के लिए लड़की है, जिसे तुम नापसंद करते हो?! |
| Ayah 22 |
| عَرَبِي | تِلكَ إِذًا قِسمَةٌ ضيزىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Tilka ithan qismatun deeza |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Tilka izan qismatun deezaa |
| English (Pickthall) | That indeed were an unfair division! |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Behold, such would be indeed a division most unfair! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | That, then, is an unjust division. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | This distribution which you made with your desires is an unjust distribution. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | तब तो यह बहुत बेढ़ंगा और अन्यायपूर्ण बँटवारा हुआ! |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | ये तो बहुत बेइन्साफ़ी की तक़सीम है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | यह बँटवारा जो तुमने अपनी इच्छाओं के अनुसार किया है, एक अनुचित (अन्यायपूर्ण) बँटवारा है। |
| Ayah 23 |
| عَرَبِي | إِن هِيَ إِلّا أَسماءٌ سَمَّيتُموها أَنتُم وَآباؤُكُم ما أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ بِها مِن سُلطانٍ ۚ إِن يَتَّبِعونَ إِلَّا الظَّنَّ وَما تَهوَى الأَنفُسُ ۖ وَلَقَد جاءَهُم مِن رَبِّهِمُ الهُدىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | In hiya illa asmaon sammaytumooha antum waabaokum ma anzala Allahu biha min sultanin in yattabiAAoona illa alththanna wama tahwa alanfusu walaqad jaahum min rabbihimu alhuda |

| English (Pickthall) | They are but names which ye have named, ye and your fathers, for which Allah hath revealed no warrant. They follow but a guess and that which (they) themselves desire. And now the guidance from their Lord hath come unto them. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | These are nothing but names which ye have devised,- ye and your fathers,- for which Allah has sent down no authority (whatever). They follow nothing but conjecture and what their own souls desire!- Even though there has already come to them Guidance from their Lord! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | They are not but [mere] names you have named them - you and your forefathers - for which Allah has sent down no authority. They follow not except assumption and what [their] souls desire, and there has already come to them from their Lord guidance. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | These idols are nothing but names without meaning, so they have no share of divine qualities. You and your fathers named them on your own part. Allah did not reveal any proof for them. The idolaters do not follow in their belief except assumption and what their souls desire from what the satan has adorned in their hearts. And the guidance has come to them from their Lord on the tongue of Muhammad (peace be upon him), but they were not guided. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | वे तो बस कुछ नाम है जो तुमने और तुम्हारे बाप-दादा ने रख लिए है। अल्लाह ने उनके लिए कोई सनद नहीं उतारी। वे तो केवल अटकल के पीछे चले रहे है और उनके पीछे जो उनके मन की इच्छा होती है। हालाँकि उनके पास उनके रब की ओर से मार्गदर्शन आ चुका है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | ये तो बस सिर्फ नाम ही नाम है जो तुमने और तुम्हारे बाप दादाओं ने गढ़ लिए हैं, ख़ुदा ने तो इसकी कोई सनद नाज़िल नहीं की ये लोग तो बस अटकल और अपनी नफ़सानी ख्वाहिश के पीछे चल रहे हैं हालॉकि उनके पास उनके परवरदिगार की तरफ से हिदायत भी आ चुकी है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | ये मूर्तियाँ कुछ अर्थहीन नामों के सिवा कुछ नहीं हैं। इनके अंदर पूज्य होने की कोई विशेषता नहीं पाई जाती। तुमने और तुम्हारे बाप-दादाओं ने अपनी ओर से इनके नाम रख लिए हैं, अल्लाह ने इनका कोई प्रमाण नहीं उतारा। ये मुश्रिक लोग अपनी आस्था में केवल अटकल का और उन चीज़ों का अनुसरण कर रहे हैं, जो उनके मन की इच्छा होती है, जिसे शैतान ने उनके दिलों में सुंदर बना दिया है। जबकि निश्चय उनके पास उनके पालनहार की ओर से उसके नबी सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि व सल्लम के माध्यम से मार्गदर्शन आ चुका है, परंतु उन्होंने उसे नहीं अपनाया। |
| Ayah 24 |
| عَرَبِي | أَم لِلإِنسانِ ما تَمَنّىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Am lilinsani ma tamanna |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Am lil insaani maa taman naa |
| English (Pickthall) | Or shall man have what he coveteth? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Nay, shall man have (just) anything he hankers after? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Or is there for man whatever he wishes? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Or will man have what he desired i.e., the idols interceding with Allah? |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | (क्या उनकी देवियाँ उन्हें लाभ पहुँचा सकती है) या मनुष्य वह कुछ पा लेगा, जिसकी वह कामना करता है? |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | क्या जिस चीज़ की इन्सान तमन्ना करे वह उसे ज़रूर मिलती है |

| Ayah 25 |
| عَرَبِي | فَلِلَّهِ الآخِرَةُ وَالأولىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Falillahi alakhiratu waaloola |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Falillaahil aakhiratu wal oolaa |
| English (Pickthall) | But unto Allah belongeth the after (life), and the former. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | But it is to Allah that the End and the Beginning (of all things) belong. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Rather, to Allah belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | No, he will not have what he desired. For Allah alone is the afterlife and the first [life]; He grants of them whatever He wishes and withholds whatever He wishes. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | आख़िरत और दुनिया का मालिक तो अल्लाह ही है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | आख़ेरत और दुनिया तो ख़ास ख़ुदा ही के एख्तेयार में हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | नहीं, उसके लिए वह कुछ नहीं है, जिसकी वह कामना करे। क्योंकि दुनिया और आख़िरत केवल अल्लाह के हाथ में हैं। वह उन दोनों में से जो चाहता है, देता है और जो चाहता है, रोक लेता है। |
| Ayah 26 |
| عَرَبِي | ۞ وَكَم مِن مَلَكٍ فِي السَّماواتِ لا تُغني شَفاعَتُهُم شَيئًا إِلّا مِن بَعدِ أَن يَأذَنَ اللَّهُ لِمَن يَشاءُ وَيَرضىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wakam min malakin fee alssamawati la tughnee shafaAAatuhum shayan illa min baAAdi an yathana Allahu liman yashao wayarda |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa kam mim malakin fissamaawaati laa tughnee shafaa'atuhum shai'an illaa mim ba'di anyyaazanal laahu limany yashaaa'u wa yardaa |
| English (Pickthall) | And how many angels are in the heavens whose intercession availeth naught save after Allah giveth leave to whom He chooseth and accepteth. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | How many-so-ever be the angels in the heavens, their intercession will avail nothing except after Allah has given leave for whom He pleases and that he is acceptable to Him. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And how many angels there are in the heavens whose intercession will not avail at all except [only] after Allah has permitted [it] to whom He wills and approves. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | How many angels are there in the heavens whose intercession cannot help at all if they were to intend to help someone, except after Allah permits intercession for whom He wishes among them and He is pleased with the one being interceded for. Allah will never permit one who associates a partner with Him to intercede and He will never be pleased with the one he is interceding for who worships him besides Allah. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | आकाशों में कितने ही फ़रिश्ते है, उनकी सिफ़ारिश कुछ काम नहीं आएगी; यदि काम आ सकती है तो इसके पश्चात ही कि अल्लाह अनुमति दे, जिसे चाहे और पसन्द करे। |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और आसमानों में बहुत से फरिश्ते हैं जिनकी सिफ़ारिश कुछ भी काम न आती, मगर ख़ुदा जिसके लिए चाहे इजाज़त दे दे और पसन्द करे उसके बाद (सिफ़ारिश कर सकते हैं) |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और आकाशों में कितने ही फ़रिश्ते हैं, जिनकी सिफ़ारिश से कोई फ़ायदा नहीं होता, यदि वे किसी के लिए सिफ़ारिश करना चाहें, परंतु इसके बाद कि अल्लाह उनमें से जिसके लिए चाहे सिफ़ारिश करने की अनुमति प्रदान कर दे और जिस के लिए सिफ़ारिश की जाती है, उससे संतुष्ट हो जाए। अतः अल्लाह उसे सिफ़ारिश करने की अनुमति हरगिज़ नहीं देगा, जिसने अल्लाह का साझी ठहराया है और जिसकी वह सिफ़ारिश कर रहा है, उससे वह संतुष्ट नहीं होगा यदि वह अल्लाह को छोड़कर किसी और की उपासना करता है। |
| Ayah 27 |
| عَرَبِي | إِنَّ الَّذينَ لا يُؤمِنونَ بِالآخِرَةِ لَيُسَمّونَ المَلائِكَةَ تَسمِيَةَ الأُنثىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Inna allatheena la yuminoona bialakhirati layusammoona almalaikata tasmiyata alontha |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | innal lazeena laa yu'minoona bil aakhirati la yusammoonal malaaa'ikata tasmiyatal unsaa |
| English (Pickthall) | Lo! it is those who disbelieve in the Hereafter who name the angels with the names of females. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Those who believe not in the Hereafter, name the angels with female names. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Indeed, those who do not believe in the Hereafter name the angels female names, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Those who do not believe in the resurrection in the afterlife give the angels female names in their belief that they are the daughters of Allah. Allah is far above what they say. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | जो लोग आख़िरत को नहीं मानते, वे फ़रिश्तों के देवियों के नाम से अभिहित करते है, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | जो लोग आख़ेरत पर ईमान नहीं रखते वह फ़रिश्तों के नाम रखते हैं औरतों के से नाम हालॉकि उन्हें इसकी कुछ ख़बर नहीं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | जो लोग आख़िरत में दोबारा जीवित किए जाने पर ईमान नहीं रखते, वे फ़रिश्तों को स्त्रियों का नाम देते हैं, क्योंकि वे मानते हैं कि वे अल्लाह की पुत्रियाँ हैं। अल्लाह उनकी इस बात से बहुत ऊँचा है। |
| Ayah 28 |
| عَرَبِي | وَما لَهُم بِهِ مِن عِلمٍ ۖ إِن يَتَّبِعونَ إِلَّا الظَّنَّ ۖ وَإِنَّ الظَّنَّ لا يُغني مِنَ الحَقِّ شَيئًا |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wama lahum bihi min AAilmin in yattabiAAoona illa alththanna wainna alththanna la yughnee mina alhaqqi shayan |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa maa lahum bihee min 'ilmin iny yattabi'oona illaz zanna wa innaz zanna laa yughnee minal haqqi shai'aa |
| English (Pickthall) | And they have no knowledge thereof. They follow but a guess, and lo! a guess can never take the place of the truth. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | But they have no knowledge therein. They follow nothing but conjecture; and conjecture avails nothing against Truth. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And they have thereof no knowledge. They follow not except assumption, and indeed, assumption avails not against the truth at all. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | In giving them female names they have no knowledge to base this on. They merely follow speculation. Speculation is of no value against the truth, to take its place. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | हालाँकि इस विषय में उन्हें कोई ज्ञान नहीं। वे केवल अटकल के पीछे चलते है, हालाँकि सत्य से जो लाभ पहुँचता है वह अटकल से कदापि नहीं पहुँच सकता। |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | वह लोग तो बस गुमान (ख्याल) के पीछे चल रहे हैं, हालॉकि गुमान यक़ीन के बदले में कुछ भी काम नहीं आया करता, |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | हालाँकि उनके पास फ़रिश्तों को स्त्रियों के नाम देने के बारे में कोई ज्ञान नहीं है, जिसका वे सहारा ले सकें। वे इस मामले में केवल अटकल और भ्रम का पालन करते हैं। और अटकल सत्य के मुक़ाबले में कुछ भी लाभ नहीं देता कि उसका स्थान ले सके। |
| Ayah 29 |
| عَرَبِي | فَأَعرِض عَن مَن تَوَلّىٰ عَن ذِكرِنا وَلَم يُرِد إِلَّا الحَياةَ الدُّنيا |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | FaaAArid AAan man tawalla AAan thikrina walam yurid illa alhayata alddunya |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fa a'rid 'am man tawallaa 'an zikrinaa wa lam yurid illal hayaatad dunyaa |
| English (Pickthall) | Then withdraw (O Muhammad) from him who fleeth from Our remembrance and desireth but the life of the world. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Therefore shun those who turn away from Our Message and desire nothing but the life of this world. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | So turn away from whoever turns his back on Our message and desires not except the worldly life. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | So, O Messenger, ignore those who turn away from Allah’s remembrance without showing any concern for it, and who want only the life of this world and therefore do not work for their Hereafter because they do not believe in it. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अतः तुम उसको ध्यान में न लाओ जो हमारे ज़िक्र से मुँह मोड़ता है और सांसारिक जीवन के सिवा उसने कुछ नहीं चाहा |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो जो हमारी याद से रदगिरदानी करे ओर सिर्फ दुनिया की ज़िन्दगी ही का तालिब हो तुम भी उससे मुँह फेर लो |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तो (ऐ रसूल!) आप उस व्यक्ति से मुँह फेर लें, जिसने अल्लाह की याद से मुँह मोड़ लिया और उसकी परवाह नहीं की, तथा उसने दुनिया के जीवन के सिवा कुछ नहीं चाहा। अतः वह अपनी आख़िरत के लिए काम नहीं करता है; क्योंकि वह उसपर ईमान नहीं रखता। |
| Ayah 30 |
| عَرَبِي | ذٰلِكَ مَبلَغُهُم مِنَ العِلمِ ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبيلِهِ وَهُوَ أَعلَمُ بِمَنِ اهتَدىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Thalika mablaghuhum mina alAAilmi inna rabbaka huwa aAAlamu biman dalla AAan sabeelihi wahuwa aAAlamu bimani ihtada |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Zalika mablaghuhum minal 'ilm; inna rabbaka huwa a'lamu biman dalla 'an sabee lihee wa huwa a'lamu bimanih tadaa |
| English (Pickthall) | Such is their sum of knowledge. Lo! thy Lord is Best Aware of him who strayeth, and He is Best Aware of him whom goeth right. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | That is as far as knowledge will reach them. Verily thy Lord knoweth best those who stray from His Path, and He knoweth best those who receive guidance. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | That is their sum of knowledge. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who strays from His way, and He is most knowing of who is guided. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | That which the idolaters say - about giving the angels female names - is the limit of their knowledge because they are ignorant. They have not reached certainty. Your Lord - O Messenger- knows best about those who deviate from the path of truth and He knows best about those who are guided to its path. Nothing of that is hidden from Him. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | ऐसे लोगों के ज्ञान की पहुँच बस यहीं तक है। निश्चय ही तुम्हारा रब ही उसे भली-भाँति जानता है जो उसके मार्ग से भटक गया और वही उसे भी भली-भाँति जानता है जिसने सीधा मार्ग अपनाया |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | उनके इल्म की यही इन्तिहा है तुम्हारा परवरदिगार, जो उसके रास्ते से भटक गया उसको भी ख़ूब जानता है, और जो राहे रास्त पर है उनसे भी ख़ूब वाक़िफ है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | वह जो ये बहुदेववादी कहते हैं (यानी फ़रिश्तों को स्त्रियों का नाम देना) यही उनके ज्ञान की सीमा है जिस तक वे पहुँचते हैं; क्योंकि वे अज्ञानी हैं। वे निश्चितता (यक़ीन) तक नहीं पहुँचे हैं। निश्चय आपका रब ही (ऐ रसूल!) उसे अधकि जानने वाला है, जो सत्य के मार्ग से भटक गया तथा वही उसे (भी) ज़्यादा जानने वाला है, जो उसके मार्ग पर चला। उससे इनमें से कुछ भी छिपा नहीं है। |
| Ayah 31 |
| عَرَبِي | وَلِلَّهِ ما فِي السَّماواتِ وَما فِي الأَرضِ لِيَجزِيَ الَّذينَ أَساءوا بِما عَمِلوا وَيَجزِيَ الَّذينَ أَحسَنوا بِالحُسنَى |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Walillahi ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi liyajziya allatheena asaoo bima AAamiloo wayajziya allatheena ahsanoo bialhusna |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa lillaahi maa fis samaawaati wa maa fil ardi liyajziyal lazeena asaaa'oo bimaa 'amiloo wa yajziyal lazeena ahsanoo bilhusnaa |
| English (Pickthall) | And unto Allah belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, that He may reward those who do evil with that which they have done, and reward those who do good with goodness. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Yea, to Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and on earth: so that He rewards those who do evil, according to their deeds, and He rewards those who do good, with what is best. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth - that He may recompense those who do evil with [the penalty of] what they have done and recompense those who do good with the best [reward] - |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | To Allah alone belongs whatever is in the heavens and to Him alone belongs whatever is on earth. He created, owns and controls all of it. To recompense whose who do evil actions in the world with the punishment that they deserve and to repay the believers who do good actions with Paradise. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अल्लाह ही का है जो कुछ आकाशों में है और जो कुछ धरती में है, ताकि जिन लोगों ने बुराई की वह उन्हें उनके किए का बदला दे। और जिन लोगों ने भलाई की उन्हें अच्छा बदला दे; |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और जो कुछ आसमानों में है और जो कुछ ज़मीन में है (ग़रज़ सब कुछ) ख़ुदा ही का है, ताकि जिन लोगों ने बुराई की हो उनको उनकी कारस्तानियों की सज़ा दे और जिन लोगों ने नेकी की है (उनकी नेकी की जज़ा दे) |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | आकाशों की सारी चीज़ें और धरती की सारी चीज़ें अल्लाह ही की हैं, वही उनका मालिक, सृजनहार और प्रबंधन कर्ता है। ताकि अल्लाह दुनिया में बुराई करने वालों को वह सज़ा दे, जिसके वे योग्य हैं और अच्छे कार्य करने वाले मोमिनों को जन्नत प्रदान करे। |
| Ayah 32 |
| عَرَبِي | الَّذينَ يَجتَنِبونَ كَبائِرَ الإِثمِ وَالفَواحِشَ إِلَّا اللَّمَمَ ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ واسِعُ المَغفِرَةِ ۚ هُوَ أَعلَمُ بِكُم إِذ أَنشَأَكُم مِنَ الأَرضِ وَإِذ أَنتُم أَجِنَّةٌ في بُطونِ أُمَّهاتِكُم ۖ فَلا تُزَكّوا أَنفُسَكُم ۖ هُوَ أَعلَمُ بِمَنِ اتَّقىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Allatheena yajtaniboona kabaira alithmi waalfawahisha illa allamama inna rabbaka wasiAAu almaghfirati huwa aAAlamu bikum ith anshaakum mina alardi waith antum ajinnatun fee butooni ommahatikum fala tuzakkoo anfusakum huwa aAAlamu bimani ittaqa |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Allazeena yajtaniboona kabaaa'iral ismi walfawaa hisha illal lamam; inna rabbaka waasi'ul maghfirah; huwa a'lamu bikum iz ansha akum minal ardi wa iz antum ajinnatun fee butooni umma haatikum falaa tuzakkooo anfusakum huwa a'lamu bimanit taqaa |
| English (Pickthall) | Those who avoid enormities of sin and abominations, save the unwilled offences - (for them) lo! thy Lord is of vast mercy. He is Best Aware of you (from the time) when He created you from the earth, and when ye were hidden in the bellies of your mothers. Therefor ascribe not purity unto yourselves. He is Best Aware of him who wardeth off (evil). |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Those who avoid great sins and shameful deeds, only (falling into) small faults,- verily thy Lord is ample in forgiveness. He knows you well when He brings you out of the earth, And when ye are hidden in your mothers' wombs. Therefore justify not yourselves: He knows best who it is that guards against evil. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Those who avoid the major sins and immoralities, only [committing] slight ones. Indeed, your Lord is vast in forgiveness. He was most knowing of you when He produced you from the earth and when you were fetuses in the wombs of your mothers. So do not claim yourselves to be pure; He is most knowing of who fears Him. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Those who stay away from major sins and evil wrongs, besides minor sins as these are forgiven by leaving out the major ones and by an abundance of good deeds. Your Lord, O Messenger, is of vast forgiveness. He forgives the sins of His servants when they repent from them. He, (may He be glorified), knew best about their states and affairs when He created their father, Adam, from earth and when you were in the wombs of your mothers, being created in one form after another. Nothing of that is hidden from Him. So do not claim purity for your souls by praising them and asserting their piety. He, (may He be glorified), knows best about those who are mindful of Him, by fulfilling His instructions and avoiding His prohibitions. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | वे लोग जो बड़े गुनाहों और अश्लील कर्मों से बचते है, यह और बात है कि संयोगबश कोई छोटी बुराई उनसे हो जाए। निश्चय ही तुम्हारा रब क्षमाशीलता मे बड़ा व्यापक है। वह तुम्हें उस समय से भली-भाँति जानता है, जबकि उसने तुम्हें धरती से पैदा किया और जबकि तुम अपनी माँओ के पेटों में भ्रुण अवस्था में थे। अतः अपने मन की पवित्रता और निखार का दावा न करो। वह उस व्यक्ति को भली-भाँति जानता है, जिसने डर रखा |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | जो सग़ीरा गुनाहों के सिवा कबीरा गुनाहों से और बेहयाई की बातों से बचे रहते हैं बेशक तुम्हारा परवरदिगार बड़ी बख्यिश वाला है वही तुमको ख़ूब जानता है जब उसने तुमको मिटटी से पैदा किया और जब तुम अपनी माँ के पेट में बच्चे थे तो (तकब्बुर) से अपने नफ्स की पाकीज़गी न जताया करो जो परहेज़गार है उसको वह ख़ूब जानता है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | जो लोग छोटे-मोटे पापों के सिवाय, बड़े गुनाहों और अवज्ञा के घृणित कार्यों से दूर रहते हैं, तो बड़े पापों को त्यागने और अधिक से अधिक नेकी के काम करने के कारण ये (छोटे पाप) क्षमा कर दिए जात हैं। निश्चय आपका पालनहार (ऐ रसूल!) व्यापक रूप से माफ़ करने वाला है, वह अपने बंदों के पापों को क्षमा कर देता है जब भी वे उनसे तौबा करें। वह महिमावान तुम्हारी स्थितियों और तुम्हारे मामलों को अधिक जानने वाला है, जब उसने तुम्हारे पिता आदम अैलहिस्सलाम को मिट्टी से पैदा किया और जब तुम अपनी माताओं के पेटों में गर्भावस्था में थे, चरण दर चरण तुम्हारी रचना की जाती थी। उससे इसमें से कोई बात छिपी नहीं है। अतः अपनी परहेज़गारी के साथ अपनी प्रशंसा न करो। क्योंकि अल्लाह अधिक जानने वाला है कि तुममें से कौन उसके आदेशों का पालन करके और उसकी मना की हुई बातों से बचकर उससे डरता है। |
| Ayah 33 |
| عَرَبِي | أَفَرَأَيتَ الَّذي تَوَلّىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Afaraayta allathee tawalla |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Afara'ayatal lazee tawallaa |
| English (Pickthall) | Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Seest thou one who turns back, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Have you seen the one who turned away |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Have you seen the evil state of the one who turned away from Islam after coming close to it? |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | क्या तुमने उस व्यक्ति को देखा जिसने मुँह फेरा, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | भला (ऐ रसूल) तुमने उस शख़्श को भी देखा जिसने रदगिरदानी की |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | क्या आपने उस व्यक्ति की दुर्दशा देखी है, जिसने इस्लाम से निकट होने के बाद उससे मुँह मोड़ लिया?! |
| Ayah 34 |
| عَرَبِي | وَأَعطىٰ قَليلًا وَأَكدىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | WaaAAta qaleelan waakda |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa a'taa qaleelanw wa akdaa |
| English (Pickthall) | And gave a little, then was grudging? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And gave a little and [then] refrained? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | He gave a little wealth and then held back, because miserliness was an innate quality in him. Despite this he declares his soul to be pure. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और थोड़ा-सा देकर रुक गया; |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और थोड़ा सा (ख़ुदा की राह में) दिया और फिर बन्द कर दिया |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और उसने थोड़ा-सा माल दिया, फिर रोक लिया; क्योंकि कंजूसी उसका स्वभाव है, फिर भी वह अपनी पवित्रता बयान करता है। |
| Ayah 35 |
| عَرَبِي | أَعِندَهُ عِلمُ الغَيبِ فَهُوَ يَرىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | aAAindahu AAilmu alghaybi fahuwa yara |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | A'indahoo 'ilmul ghaibi fahuwa yaraa |
| English (Pickthall) | Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Does he have knowledge of the Ghaib and therefore sees and speaks about the Ghaib? |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | क्या उसके पास परोक्ष का ज्ञान है कि वह देख रहा है; |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | क्या उसके पास इल्मे ग़ैब है कि वह देख रहा है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | क्या उसके पास परोक्ष (ग़ैब) का ज्ञान है कि वह सब कुछ देख रहा है और ग़ैब की बात बता रहा है?! |
| Ayah 36 |
| عَرَبِي | أَم لَم يُنَبَّأ بِما في صُحُفِ موسىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Am lam yunabba bima fee suhufi moosa |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Am lam yunabbaa bimaa fee suhuhfi Moosa |
| English (Pickthall) | Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Or is he fabricating against Allah? Or has this person, who makes up lies about Allah, not been informed about what was in the earlier scriptures that Allah had revealed to Moses? |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | या उसको उन बातों की ख़बर नहीं पहुँची, जो मूसा की किताबों में है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | क्या उसको उन बातों की ख़बर नहीं पहुँची जो मूसा के सहीफ़ों में है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | या वह अल्लाह के बारे में झूठ बोलने वाला है?! या क्या अल्लाह पर झूठ गढ़ने वाले इस व्यक्ति को उन बातों की जानकारी नहीं दी गई, जो उन पहले शास्त्रों में हैं, जिन्हें अल्लाह ने मूसा अलैहिस्सलाम पर उतारा था?! |
| Ayah 37 |
| عَرَبِي | وَإِبراهيمَ الَّذي وَفّىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waibraheema allathee waffa |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa Ibraaheemal lazee waffaaa |
| English (Pickthall) | And Abraham who paid his debt: |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And the scriptures of Abraham who fulfilled everything His Lord tasked him with? |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और इबराहीम की (किताबों में है), जिसने अल्लाह की बन्दगी का) पूरा-पूरा हक़ अदा कर दिया? |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और इबराहीम के (सहीफ़ों में) |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और इबराहीम अलैहिस्सलाम के शास्त्रों (में हैं), जिसने वह सब कुछ करके दिखाया जो उसके प्रभु ने उसे सौंपा और उसे पूरा किया। |
| Ayah 38 |
| عَرَبِي | أَلّا تَزِرُ وازِرَةٌ وِزرَ أُخرىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Alla taziru waziratun wizra okhra |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Allaa taziru waaziratunw wizra ukhraa |
| English (Pickthall) | That no laden one shall bear another's load, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | That no person will bear the sin of another. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | यह कि कोई बोझ उठानेवाला किसी दूसरे का बोझ न उठाएगा; |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | जिन्होने (अपना हक़) (पूरा अदा) किया इन सहीफ़ों में ये है, कि कोई शख़्श दूसरे (के गुनाह) का बोझ नहीं उठाएगा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | कि कोई इनसान किसी अन्य व्यक्ति के पाप को वहन नहीं करेगा। |
| Ayah 39 |
| عَرَبِي | وَأَن لَيسَ لِلإِنسانِ إِلّا ما سَعىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waan laysa lilinsani illa ma saAAa |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa al laisa lil insaani illaa maa sa'aa |
| English (Pickthall) | And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | That man can have nothing but what he strives for; |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And that man will only obtain the reward of the action that he did. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और यह कि मनुष्य के लिए बस वही है जिसके लिए उसने प्रयास किया; |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और ये कि इन्सान को वही मिलता है जिसकी वह कोशिश करता है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और यह कि इनसान के लिए केवल अपने उसी कार्य का सवाब है, जो उसने किया। |
| Ayah 40 |
| عَرَبِي | وَأَنَّ سَعيَهُ سَوفَ يُرىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waanna saAAyahu sawfa yura |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa anna sa'yahoo sawfa yuraa |
| English (Pickthall) | And that his effort will be seen. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And that his effort is going to be seen - |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And that his action will be openly seen on the Day of Judgement. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और यह कि उसका प्रयास शीघ्र ही देखा जाएगा। |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और ये कि उनकी कोशिश अनक़रीेब ही (क़यामत में) देखी जाएगी |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और यह कि उसका अमल जल्द ही क़ियामत के दिन देखा जाएगा। |
| Ayah 41 |
| عَرَبِي | ثُمَّ يُجزاهُ الجَزاءَ الأَوفىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Thumma yujzahu aljazaa alawfa |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Summa yujzaahul jazaaa 'al awfaa |
| English (Pickthall) | And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Then he will be given the recompense of his action in full without reduction. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | फिर उसे पूरा बदला दिया जाएगा; |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | फिर उसका पूरा पूरा बदला दिया जाएगा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | फिर उसे उसके कार्य का बदला कोई कमी किए बिना पूरा-पूरा दिया जाएगा। |
| Ayah 42 |
| عَرَبِي | وَأَنَّ إِلىٰ رَبِّكَ المُنتَهىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waanna ila rabbika almuntaha |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa anna ilaa rabbikal muntahaa |
| English (Pickthall) | And that thy Lord, He is the goal; |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | That to thy Lord is the final Goal; |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And that to your Lord is the finality |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And that to your Lord, O Messenger, will be the return and destination of the servants after they die. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और यह कि अन्त में पहुँचना तुम्हारे रब ही की ओर है; |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और ये कि (सबको आख़िर) तुम्हारे परवरदिगार ही के पास पहुँचना है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और यह कि सारे बंदों को अपनी मृत्यु के बाद (ऐ रसूल!) तेरे पालनहार ही की ओर लौटकर जाना है। |
| Ayah 43 |
| عَرَبِي | وَأَنَّهُ هُوَ أَضحَكَ وَأَبكىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waannahu huwa adhaka waabka |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa annahoo huwa adhaka wa abkaa |
| English (Pickthall) | And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And that He makes whoever He wills happy and makes him laugh, and makes whoever He wills sad and makes him cry. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और यह कि वही है जो हँसाता और रुलाता है; |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और ये कि वही हँसाता और रूलाता है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और यह कि वही है, जो जिसे चाहता है खुशी देकर हँसाता है और जिसे चाहता है दुःख देकर रुलाता है। |
| Ayah 44 |
| عَرَبِي | وَأَنَّهُ هُوَ أَماتَ وَأَحيا |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waannahu huwa amata waahya |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa annahoo huwa amaata wa ahyaa |
| English (Pickthall) | And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And that it is He who causes death and gives life |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And that He causes the living to die in the world and brings the dead to life by resurrection. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और यह कि वही जो मारता और जिलाता है; |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और ये कि वही मारता और जिलाता है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और यह कि वही है, जिसने दुनिया में ज़िंदा लोगों को मौत दी और क़ियामत के दिन मरे हुए लोगों को फिर से ज़िंदा करेगा। |
| Ayah 45 |
| عَرَبِي | وَأَنَّهُ خَلَقَ الزَّوجَينِ الذَّكَرَ وَالأُنثىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waannahu khalaqa alzzawjayni alththakara waalontha |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa annahoo khalaqaz zawjainiz zakara wal unsaa |
| English (Pickthall) | And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | That He did create in pairs,- male and female, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And that He created the two types: Male and female. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और यह कि वही है जिसने नर और मादा के जोड़े पैदा किए, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और ये कि वही नर और मादा दो किस्म (के हैवान) नुत्फे से जब (रहम में) डाला जाता है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और यह कि उसी ने दोनों प्रकार : नर और मादा बनाए। |
| Ayah 46 |
| عَرَبِي | مِن نُطفَةٍ إِذا تُمنىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Min nutfatin itha tumna |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Min nutfatin izaa tumnaa |
| English (Pickthall) | From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | From a seed when lodged (in its place); |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | From a sperm-drop when it is emitted |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | From a drop when it is placed in the womb. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | एक बूँद से, जब वह टपकाई जाती है; |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | पैदा करता है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | एक बूँद (वीर्य) से, जब वह गर्भाशय में डाली जाती है। |
| Ayah 47 |
| عَرَبِي | وَأَنَّ عَلَيهِ النَّشأَةَ الأُخرىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waanna AAalayhi alnnashata alokhra |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa anna 'alaihin nash atal ukhraa |
| English (Pickthall) | And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And that He will undertake to recreate them after they die for the resurrection. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और यह कि उसी के ज़िम्मे दोबारा उठाना भी है; |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और ये कि उसी पर (कयामत में) दोबारा उठाना लाज़िम है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और यह कि उसी के ज़िम्मे उन दोनों को उनकी मृत्यु के बाद दोबारा पैदा करके उठाना है। |
| Ayah 48 |
| عَرَبِي | وَأَنَّهُ هُوَ أَغنىٰ وَأَقنىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waannahu huwa aghna waaqna |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa annahoo huwa aghnaa wa aqnaa |
| English (Pickthall) | And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth; |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And that it is He who enriches and suffices |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And that He enriches whichever of His servants He wills by making him the owner of wealth and He gives wealth that people take as possessions they acquire. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और यह कि वही है जिसने धनी और पूँजीपति बनाया; |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और ये कि वही मालदार बनाता है और सरमाया अता करता है, |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और यह कि उसी ने अपने बंदों में से जिसे चाहा माल देकर धनी बनाया और ऐसा धन दिया जिसे लोग अपने पास कोष बनाकर रखते हैं। |
| Ayah 49 |
| عَرَبِي | وَأَنَّهُ هُوَ رَبُّ الشِّعرىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waannahu huwa rabbu alshshiAAra |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa annahoo huwa rabbush shi'raa |
| English (Pickthall) | And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And that He is the Lord of Sirius, the star that is worshipped by some idolaters together with Allah. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और यह कि वही है जो शेअरा (नामक तारे) का रब है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और ये कि वही योअराए का मालिक है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और यह कि वही 'शे'रा' का रब है। यह एक तारा है, जिसे कुछ बहुदेववादी अल्लाह के अलावा पूजते थे। |
| Ayah 50 |
| عَرَبِي | وَأَنَّهُ أَهلَكَ عادًا الأولىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waannahu ahlaka AAadan aloola |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa annahooo ahlak a 'Aadanil oolaa |
| English (Pickthall) | And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And that He destroyed the first [people of] 'Aad |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And that He destroyed the first Ad, who were the people of Hud when they persisted in their disbelief. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और यह कि वही है उसी ने प्राचीन आद को विनष्ट किया; |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और ये कि उसी ने पहले (क़ौमे) आद को हलाक किया |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और यह कि उसी ने प्रथम 'आद' अर्थात् हूद अलैहिस्सलाम की जाति को विनष्ट किया, जब वे अपने कुफ़्र पर अडिग हो गए। |
| Ayah 51 |
| عَرَبِي | وَثَمودَ فَما أَبقىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wathamooda fama abqa |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa samooda famaaa abqaa |
| English (Pickthall) | And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] - |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And He destroyed the Thamud, the people of Salih, and did not spare any one of them. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और समूद को भी। फिर किसी को बाक़ी न छोड़ा। |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और समूद को भी ग़रज़ किसी को बाक़ी न छोड़ा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और सालेह अलैहिस्सलाम की जाति समूद को विनष्ट किया, फिर उनमें से किसी को बाक़ी न छोड़ा। |
| Ayah 52 |
| عَرَبِي | وَقَومَ نوحٍ مِن قَبلُ ۖ إِنَّهُم كانوا هُم أَظلَمَ وَأَطغىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waqawma noohin min qablu innahum kanoo hum athlama waatgha |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa qawma Noohim min qablu innahum kaanoo hum azlama wa atghaa |
| English (Pickthall) | And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious; |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | He destroyed the people of Noah before the Ad and Thamud. The people of Noah were more unjust and transgressed even more than the Ad and Thamud, because Noah lived amongst them for nine hundred and fifty years inviting them to Allah’s oneness but they did not respond to him. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और उससे पहले नूह की क़ौम को भी। बेशक वे ज़ालिम और सरकश थे |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और (उसके) पहले नूह की क़ौम को बेशक ये लोग बड़े ही ज़ालिम और बड़े ही सरकश थे |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तथा आद एवं समूद से पहले नूह अलैहिस्सलाम की जाति को विनष्ट किया। निश्चय नूह अलैहिस्सलाम की जाति के लोग आद और समूद से अधिक अत्याचारी और अधिक सरकश थे। क्योंकि नूह अलैहिस्सलाम उनके बीच साढ़े नौ सौ साल तक रहे और उन्हें अल्लाह की तौहीद (एकेश्वरवाद) की ओर बुलाते रहे, लेकिन उन्होंने उन की एक न सुनी। |
| Ayah 53 |
| عَرَبِي | وَالمُؤتَفِكَةَ أَهوىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waalmutafikata ahwa |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wal mu'tafikata ahwaa |
| English (Pickthall) | And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And the overturned towns He hurled down |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | He raised the villages of the people of Lot to the sky and then dropped them to ground. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | उलट जानेवाली बस्ती को भी फेंक दिया। |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और उसी ने (क़ौमे लूत की) उलटी हुई बस्तियों को दे पटका |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तथा लूत अलैहिस्सलाम की जाति के लोगों की बस्तियों को आकाश में उठाया, फिर उन्हें उलट दिया, फिर उन्हें धरती पर गिरा दिया। |
| Ayah 54 |
| عَرَبِي | فَغَشّاها ما غَشّىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faghashshaha ma ghashsha |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Faghashshaahaa maa ghashshaa |
| English (Pickthall) | So that there covered them that which did cover. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तो उसने उन्हें आकाश की ओर उठाकर ज़मीन पर गिराने के बाद, उन्हें पत्थरों की बारिश से ढाँप दिया। |
| Ayah 55 |
| عَرَبِي | فَبِأَيِّ آلاءِ رَبِّكَ تَتَمارىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fabiayyi alai rabbika tatamara |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fabi ayyi aalaaa'i Rabbika tatamaaraa |
| English (Pickthall) | Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | So which of the signs of your Lord indicating His power do you dispute with, O man, and not take a lesson from? |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | फिर तू अपने रब के चमत्कारों में से किस-किस के विषय में संदेह करेगा? |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो तू (ऐ इन्सान आख़िर) अपने परवरदिगार की कौन सी नेअमत पर शक़ किया करेगा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तो ऐ इनसान! तू अपने पालनहार की शक्ति को दर्शाने वाली किन-किन निशानियों के बारे में झगड़ता रहेगा और उनसे उपदेश ग्रहण नहीं करेगा?! |
| Ayah 56 |
| عَرَبِي | هٰذا نَذيرٌ مِنَ النُّذُرِ الأولىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Hatha natheerun mina alnnuthuri aloola |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Haazaa nazeerum minan nuzuril oolaa |
| English (Pickthall) | This is a warner of the warners of old. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | This messenger that is sent to you is from the class of the earlier messengers. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | यह पहले के सावधान-कर्ताओं के सदृश एक सावधान करनेवाला है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | ये (मोहम्मद भी अगले डराने वाले पैग़म्बरों में से एक डरने वाला) पैग़म्बर है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तुम्हारी ओर भेजा गया यह रसूल पहले रसूलों ही के वर्ग से एक (रसूल) है। |
| Ayah 57 |
| عَرَبِي | أَزِفَتِ الآزِفَةُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Azifati alazifatu |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Azifatil laazifah |
| English (Pickthall) | The threatened Hour is nigh. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | The Approaching Day has approached. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | The Day of Standing has drawn nearer. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | निकट आनेवाली (क़ियामत की घड़ी) निकट आ गई |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | कयामत क़रीब आ गयी |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | निकट आने वाली क़ियामत निकट आ गई है। |
| Ayah 58 |
| عَرَبِي | لَيسَ لَها مِن دونِ اللَّهِ كاشِفَةٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Laysa laha min dooni Allahi kashifatun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Laisa lahaa min doonil laahi kaashifah |
| English (Pickthall) | None beside Allah can disclose it. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | There is no one that can push it back and no one to uncover it besides Allah. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अल्लाह के सिवा कोई नहीं जो उसे प्रकट कर दे |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | ख़ुदा के सिवा उसे कोई टाल नहीं सकता |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अल्लाह के सिवा उसे कोई हटाने वाला और उसकी सूचना रखने वाला नहीं है। |
| Ayah 59 |
| عَرَبِي | أَفَمِن هٰذَا الحَديثِ تَعجَبونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Afamin hatha alhadeethi taAAjaboona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Afamin hazal hadeesi ta'jaboon |
| English (Pickthall) | Marvel ye then at this statement, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Do ye then wonder at this recital? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Then at this statement do you wonder? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Do you marvel at this Qur’ān that is recited to you, that it is from Allah? |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अब क्या तुम इस वाणी पर आश्चर्य करते हो; |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो क्या तुम लोग इस बात से ताज्जुब करते हो और हँसते हो |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तो क्या तुम इस बात पर आश्चर्य करते हो कि यह क़ुरआन, जो तुम्हारे सामने पढ़ा जाता है, अल्लाह की ओर से है ?! |
| Ayah 60 |
| عَرَبِي | وَتَضحَكونَ وَلا تَبكونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Watadhakoona wala tabkoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa tadhakoona wa laa tabkoon |
| English (Pickthall) | And laugh and not weep, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And will ye laugh and not weep,- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And you laugh and do not weep |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And laugh mockingly at it and not cry when hearing its admonitions? |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और हँसते हो और रोते नहीं? |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और रोते नहीं हो |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और उसका ठट्ठा करते हुए उसपर हँसते हो और उसके उपदेशों को सुनकर रोते नहीं हो?! |
| Ayah 61 |
| عَرَبِي | وَأَنتُم سامِدونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waantum samidoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa antum saamidoon |
| English (Pickthall) | While ye amuse yourselves? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Wasting your time in vanities? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | While you are proudly sporting? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Whilst you are neglectful of it, not giving it any attention? |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | जबकि तुम घमंडी और ग़ाफिल हो |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और तुम इस क़दर ग़ाफ़िल हो तो ख़ुदा के आगे सजदे किया करो |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और तुम उससे ग़ाफ़िल हो, उसकी परवाह नहीं करते?! |
| Ayah 62 |
| عَرَبِي | فَاسجُدوا لِلَّهِ وَاعبُدوا ۩ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faosjudoo lillahi waoAAbudoo |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fasjudoo lillaahi wa'budoo |
| English (Pickthall) | Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | So prostrate to Allah alone, and dedicate your worship to Him. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अतः अल्लाह को सजदा करो और बन्दगी करो |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और (उसी की) इबादत किया करो (62) सजदा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अतः केवल अल्लाह को सजदा करो और इबादत को उसी के लिए विशुद्ध करो। |
