| عَرَبِي | ن ۚ وَالقَلَمِ وَما يَسطُرونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Noon waalqalami wama yasturoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Noon; walqalami wa maa yasturoon |
| English (Pickthall) | Nun. By the pen and that which they write (therewith), |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Nun. By the Pen and the (Record) which (men) write,- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Nun. By the pen and what they inscribe, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | The discussion on similar letters has already passed in Sūrah Al-Baqarah. Allah takes an oath on the Pen and whatever the people write with their pens. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | नून॰। गवाह है क़लम और वह चीज़ जो वे लिखते है, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | नून क़लम की और उस चीज़ की जो लिखती हैं (उसकी) क़सम है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | {नून} सूरतुल-बक़रा के आरंभ में इस प्रकार के अक्षरों के बारे में बात गुज़र चुकी है। अल्लाह ने क़लम की क़सम खाई है तथा उस चीज़ की क़सम खाई है, जो लोग अपनी क़लमों से लिखते हैं। |

| عَرَبِي | ما أَنتَ بِنِعمَةِ رَبِّكَ بِمَجنونٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Ma anta biniAAmati rabbika bimajnoonin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Maa anta bini'mati Rabbika bimajnoon |
| English (Pickthall) | Thou art not, for thy Lord's favour unto thee, a madman. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Thou art not, by the Grace of thy Lord, mad or possessed. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | You are not, [O Muhammad], by the favor of your Lord, a madman. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O Messenger! You are not a madman, due to the messengership Allah has blessed you with. Rather, you are free of the insanity the idolaters accuse you with. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | तुम अपने रब की अनुकम्पा से कोई दीवाने नहीं हो |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | कि तुम अपने परवरदिगार के फ़ज़ल (व करम) से दीवाने नहीं हो |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | (ऐ रसूल) आप, अल्लाह के इस अनुग्रह से कि उसने आपको नबी बनाया, दीवाने हरगिज़ नहीं हैं। बल्कि, आप उस पागलपन से बरी हैं, जिससे मुश्रिकों ने आपको आरोपित किया है। |
| Ayah 3 |
| عَرَبِي | وَإِنَّ لَكَ لَأَجرًا غَيرَ مَمنونٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wainna laka laajran ghayra mamnoonin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa inna laka la ajran ghaira mamnoon |
| English (Pickthall) | And lo! thine verily will be a reward unfailing. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Nay, verily for thee is a Reward unfailing: |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And indeed, for you is a reward uninterrupted. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Indeed, there is definitely a great, everlasting reward for you for your conveying the message to the people, without there being a favour outstanding upon you for anyone. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | निश्चय ही तुम्हारे लिए ऐसा प्रतिदान है जिसका क्रम कभी टूटनेवाला नहीं |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और तुम्हारे वास्ते यक़ीनन वह अज्र है जो कभी ख़त्म ही न होगा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | निःसंदेह आप लोगों तक अल्लाह का संदेश पहुँचाने से जो कष्ट सहते हैं, उसपर आपके लिए निश्चय कभी बाधित न होने वाला बदला है, और इसमें किसी का आप पर कोई एहसान नहीं है। |
| Ayah 4 |
| عَرَبِي | وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظيمٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wainnaka laAAala khuluqin AAatheemin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa innaka la'alaa khuluqin 'azeem |
| English (Pickthall) | And lo! thou art of a tremendous nature. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And thou (standest) on an exalted standard of character. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And indeed, you are of a great moral character. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And indeed, you are definitely on the greatest of character that the Qur’ān has brought; you are embodied with it to the most perfect degree. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | निस्संदेह तुम एक महान नैतिकता के शिखर पर हो |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और बेशक तुम्हारे एख़लाक़ बड़े आला दर्जे के हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और निःसंदेह आप निश्चित रूप से क़ुरआन के लाए हुए महान चरित्र पर विराजमान हैं। अतः जो कुछ क़ुरआन में है वह पूर्णता आपका स्वभाव बन गया है। |
| Ayah 5 |
| عَرَبِي | فَسَتُبصِرُ وَيُبصِرونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fasatubsiru wayubsiroona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fasatubsiru wa yubsiroon |
| English (Pickthall) | And thou wilt see and they will see |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Soon wilt thou see, and they will see, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | So you will see and they will see |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | So you will soon see, and these rejectors will also see. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अतः शीघ्र ही तुम भी देख लोगे और वे भी देख लेंगे |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो अनक़रीब ही तुम भी देखोगे और ये कुफ्फ़ार भी देख लेंगे |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अतः बहुत जल्द आप देख लेंगे और ये झुठलाने वाले लोग भी देख लेंगे। |
| Ayah 6 |
| عَرَبِي | بِأَييِكُمُ المَفتونُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Biayyikumu almaftoonu |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Bi ayyikumul maftoon |
| English (Pickthall) | Which of you is the demented. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Which of you is afflicted with madness. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Which of you is the afflicted [by a devil]. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | When the truth is revealed, who from amongst you was actually a madman. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | कि तुममें से कौन विभ्रमित है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | कि तुममें दीवाना कौन है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | जब सच्चाई सामने आ जाएगी, तो स्पष्ट हो जाएगा कि तुममें से कौन पागलपन से ग्रसित है।?! |
| Ayah 7 |
| عَرَبِي | إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبيلِهِ وَهُوَ أَعلَمُ بِالمُهتَدينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Inna rabbaka huwa aAAlamu biman dalla AAan sabeelihi wahuwa aAAlamu bialmuhtadeena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Innaa Rabbaka Huwa a'lamu biman dalla 'an sabeelihee wa Huwa a'lamu bilmuhtadeen |
| English (Pickthall) | Lo! thy Lord is Best Aware of him who strayeth from His way, and He is Best Aware of those who walk aright. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Verily it is thy Lord that knoweth best, which (among men) hath strayed from His Path: and He knoweth best those who receive (true) Guidance. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has gone astray from His way, and He is most knowing of the [rightly] guided. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O Messenger! Indeed, your Lord knows of whoever deviates from His path, and He is best aware of those who are guided to it. Therefore, He knows that they are the ones who have deviated from it, and that you have been guided to it. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | निस्संदेह तुम्हारा रब उसे भली-भाँति जानता है जो उसके मार्ग से भटक गया है, और वही उन लोगों को भी जानता है जो सीधे मार्ग पर हैं |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | बेशक तुम्हारा परवरदिगार इनसे ख़ूब वाक़िफ़ है जो उसकी राह से भटके हुए हैं और वही हिदायत याफ्ता लोगों को भी ख़ूब जानता है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | (ऐ रसूल) निश्चय आपका रब उसे बेहतर जानता है जो उसके रास्ते से भटक गया है और वही सीधे मार्ग पर चलने वालों को भी बेहतर जानने वाला है। चुनाँचे उसे पता है कि यही लोग हैं जो उससे भटके हुए हैं और आप ही हैं जो उसपर चल रहे हैं। |

| عَرَبِي | فَلا تُطِعِ المُكَذِّبينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fala tutiAAi almukaththibeena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Falaa tuti'il mukazzibeen |
| English (Pickthall) | Therefor obey not thou the rejecters |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | So hearken not to those who deny (the Truth). |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Then do not obey the deniers. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | So, O Messenger, do not follow the rejectors in what you have brought. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अतः तुम झुठलानेवालों को कहना न मानना |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो तुम झुठलाने वालों का कहना न मानना |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अतः (ऐ रसूल) आप उन लोगों की बात न मानें, जो आपके लाए हुए संदेश को झुठलाने वाले हैं। |
| Ayah 9 |
| عَرَبِي | وَدّوا لَو تُدهِنُ فَيُدهِنونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waddoo law tudhinu fayudhinoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Waddoo law tudhinu fa-yudhinoon |
| English (Pickthall) | Who would have had thee compromise, that they may compromise. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Their desire is that thou shouldst be pliant: so would they be pliant. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | They wish that you would soften [in your position], so they would soften [toward you]. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | They wish that you were soft and compromising towards them in matters of religion, so they can be soft and kind to you in return. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | वे चाहते है कि तुम ढीले पड़ो, इस कारण वे चिकनी-चुपड़ी बातें करते है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | वह लोग ये चाहते हैं कि अगर तुम नरमी एख्तेयार करो तो वह भी नरम हो जाएँ |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | वे चाहते हैं कि आप दीन की क़ीमत पर उनके साथ नरमी करें, तो वे भी आपके साथ नरमी करने लगें। |
| Ayah 10 |
| عَرَبِي | وَلا تُطِع كُلَّ حَلّافٍ مَهينٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wala tutiAA kulla hallafin maheenin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa laa tuti' kulla hallaa fim maheen |
| English (Pickthall) | Neither obey thou each feeble oath-monger, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Heed not the type of despicable men,- ready with oaths, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And do not obey every worthless habitual swearer |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And do not follow anyone who frequently takes false oaths, and is vulgar. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | तुम किसी भी ऐसे व्यक्ति की बात न मानना जो बहुत क़समें खानेवाला, हीन है, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और तुम (कहीं) ऐसे के कहने में न आना जो बहुत क़समें खाता ज़लील औक़ात ऐबजू |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और आप हर ऐसे व्यक्ति की बात न मानें, जो बहुत ज़्यादा झूठी क़समें खाने वाला और तुच्छ है। |
| Ayah 11 |
| عَرَبِي | هَمّازٍ مَشّاءٍ بِنَميمٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Hammazin mashshain binameemin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Hammaazim mash shaaa'im binameem |
| English (Pickthall) | Detracter, spreader abroad of slanders, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | A slanderer, going about with calumnies, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | [And] scorner, going about with malicious gossip - |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Who frequently backbites the people, and bears tales between them to cause division between them. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | कचोके लगाता, चुग़लियाँ खाता फिरता हैं, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | जो आला दर्जे का चुग़लख़ोर माल का बहुत बख़ील |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | लोगों की बहुत ज़्यादा ग़ीबत करने वाला और उनके बीच चुग़ली के साथ बहुत चलने-फिरने वाला है, ताकि उनके बीच फूट डाले। |

| عَرَبِي | مَنّاعٍ لِلخَيرِ مُعتَدٍ أَثيمٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | MannaAAin lilkhayri muAAtadin atheemin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Mannaa'il lilkhairi mu'tadin aseem |
| English (Pickthall) | Hinderer of the good, transgressor, malefactor |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | (Habitually) hindering (all) good, transgressing beyond bounds, deep in sin, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | A preventer of good, transgressing and sinful, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Who often prevents goodness and oppresses the people in their wealth, their dignity and their lives; who is a habitual sinner and disobeyer. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | भलाई से रोकता है, सीमा का उल्लंघन करनेवाला, हक़ मारनेवाला है, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | हद से बढ़ने वाला गुनेहगार तुन्द मिजाज़ |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | भलाई से बहुत ज़्यादा रोकने वाला, लोगों की धन-संपत्ति, सतीत्व और जान पर अतिक्रमण करने वाला तथा अत्यधिक गुनाह और पाप करने वाला है। |

| عَرَبِي | عُتُلٍّ بَعدَ ذٰلِكَ زَنيمٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | AAutullin baAAda thalika zaneemin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | 'Utullim ba'da zaalika zaneem |
| English (Pickthall) | Greedy therewithal, intrusive. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Violent (and cruel),- with all that, base-born,- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Cruel, moreover, and an illegitimate pretender. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Who is stubborn and rude, one residing among his people without being related to them. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | क्रूर है फिर अधम भी। |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और उसके अलावा बदज़ात (हरमज़ादा) भी है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | जो कठोर एवं दुष्ट स्वभाव, अपने पिता के अलावा किसी और की तरफ़ मनसूब (यानी नाजायज औलाद) है। |
| Ayah 14 |
| عَرَبِي | أَن كانَ ذا مالٍ وَبَنينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | An kana tha malin wabaneena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | An kaana zaa maalinw-wa baneen |
| English (Pickthall) | It is because he is possessed of wealth and children |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Because he possesses wealth and (numerous) sons. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Because he is a possessor of wealth and children, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Just because he is a person of wealth and many sons, he is too arrogant to have faith in Allah and in His Messenger. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | इस कारण कि वह धन और बेटोंवाला है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | चूँकि माल बहुत से बेटे रखता है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | क्योंकि वह पैसे और बच्चों वाला है, इसलिए अल्लाह और उसके रसूल पर ईमान लाने से अहंकार करता है। |
| Ayah 15 |
| عَرَبِي | إِذا تُتلىٰ عَلَيهِ آياتُنا قالَ أَساطيرُ الأَوَّلينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Itha tutla AAalayhi ayatuna qala asateeru alawwaleena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Izaa tutlaa 'alaihi aayaatunaa qaala asaateerul awwaleen |
| English (Pickthall) | That, when Our revelations are recited unto him, he saith: Mere fables of the men of old. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | When to him are rehearsed Our Signs, "Tales of the ancients", he cries! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | When My verses are read to him, he says, “This are the tales written of the people of the past.” |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | जब उसे हमारी आयतें सुनाई जाती है तो कहता है, "ये तो पहले लोगों की कहानियाँ हैं!" |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | जब उसके सामने हमारी आयतें पढ़ी जाती हैं तो बोल उठता है कि ये तो अगलों के अफ़साने हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | जब उसके सामने हमारी आयतें पढ़ी जाती हैं, तो कहता है : यह तो पहले लोगों की दंतकथाओं से लिखी गई बातें हैं। |
| Ayah 16 |
| عَرَبِي | سَنَسِمُهُ عَلَى الخُرطومِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Sanasimuhu AAala alkhurtoomi |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Sanasimuhoo 'alal khurtoom |
| English (Pickthall) | We shall brand him on the nose. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Soon shall We brand (the beast) on the snout! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | We will brand him upon the snout. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | I will place a mark on his nose which will stick with him and disfigure him. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | शीघ्र ही हम उसकी सूँड पर दाग़ लगाएँगे |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | हम अनक़रीब इसकी नाक पर दाग़ लगाएँगे |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | हम शीघ्र ही उसकी नाक पर निशान लगा देंगे, जो उसके चेहरे को बिगाड़ देगी और कभी उससे अलग नहीं होगी। |
| Ayah 17 |
| عَرَبِي | إِنّا بَلَوناهُم كَما بَلَونا أَصحابَ الجَنَّةِ إِذ أَقسَموا لَيَصرِمُنَّها مُصبِحينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Inna balawnahum kama balawna ashaba aljannati ith aqsamoo layasrimunnaha musbiheena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Innaa balawnaahum kamaa balawnaaa As-haabal jannati iz 'aqsamoo la-yasri munnahaa musbiheen |
| English (Pickthall) | Lo! We have tried them as We tried the owners of the garden when they vowed that they would pluck its fruit next morning, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Verily We have tried them as We tried the People of the Garden, when they resolved to gather the fruits of the (garden) in the morning. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Indeed, We have tried them as We tried the companions of the garden, when they swore to cut its fruit in the [early] morning |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Indeed, I have tested these idolaters with drought and hunger, just as I tested the people of the garden when they swore that they will quickly harvest its fruits in the morning, so that the poor cannot eat from them. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | हमने उन्हें परीक्षा में डाला है जैसे बाग़वालों को परीक्षा में डाला था, जबकि उन्होंने क़सम खाई कि वे प्रातःकाल अवश्य उस (बाग़) के फल तोड़ लेंगे |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | जिस तरह हमने एक बाग़ वालों का इम्तेहान लिया था उसी तरह उनका इम्तेहान लिया जब उन्होने क़समें खा खाकर कहा कि सुबह होते हम उसका मेवा ज़रूर तोड़ डालेंगे |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | हमने इन मुश्रिकों का अकाल एवं भूख के साथ परीक्षण किया, जिस तरह हमने बाग़ वालों का परीक्षण किया, जब उन्होंने सुबह के समय उसके फलों को जल्दी से तोड़ लेने की क़सम खाई थी, ताकि किसी गरीब व्यक्ति को उनसे खाना न मिले। |
| Ayah 18 |
| عَرَبِي | وَلا يَستَثنونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wala yastathnoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa laa yastasnoon |
| English (Pickthall) | And made no exception (for the Will of Allah); |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | But made no reservation, ("If it be Allah's Will"). |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Without making exception. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | They did not attribute the matter to Allah among themselves, by saying: “If Allah wills”. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और वे इसमें छूट की कोई गुंजाइश नहीं रख रहे थे |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और इन्शाअल्लाह न कहा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और उन्होंने 'इन शा अल्लाह' (अगर अल्लाह ने चाहा) कहकर अपनी क़्सम में कोई अपवाद नहीं किया। |
| Ayah 19 |
| عَرَبِي | فَطافَ عَلَيها طائِفٌ مِن رَبِّكَ وَهُم نائِمونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fatafa AAalayha taifun min rabbika wahum naimoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fataafa 'alaihaa taaa'i fum mir rabbika wa hum naaa'imoon |
| English (Pickthall) | Then a visitation from thy Lord came upon it while they slept |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Then there came on the (garden) a visitation from thy Lord, (which swept away) all around, while they were asleep. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | So there came upon the garden an affliction from your Lord while they were asleep. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | So I sent a fire to the garden which consumed it while its owners were asleep, unable to defend it. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अभी वे सो ही रहे थे कि तुम्हारे रब की ओर से गर्दिश का एक झोंका आया |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो ये लोग पड़े सो ही रहे थे कि तुम्हारे परवरदिगार की तरफ से (रातों रात) एक बला चक्कर लगा गयी |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तो अल्लाह ने उस (बाग़) की ओर एक आग भेज दी, जो उसे खा गई, जबकि बाग़ के मालिक सो रहे थे, वे उससे आग को रोकने में सक्षम नहीं थे। |
| Ayah 20 |
| عَرَبِي | فَأَصبَحَت كَالصَّريمِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faasbahat kaalssareemi |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fa asbahat kassareem |
| English (Pickthall) | And in the morning it was as if plucked. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | So the (garden) became, by the morning, like a dark and desolate spot, (whose fruit had been gathered). |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And it became as though reaped. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | It became black, like a dark night. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और वह ऐसा हो गया जैसे कटी हुई फ़सल |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो वह (सारा बाग़ जलकर) ऐसा हो गया जैसे बहुत काली रात |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तो वह बाग़ अंधेरी रात की तरह काला हो गया। |
| Ayah 21 |
| عَرَبِي | فَتَنادَوا مُصبِحينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fatanadaw musbiheena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fatanaadaw musbiheen |
| English (Pickthall) | And they cried out one unto another in the morning, |

| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Ani ighdoo AAala harthikum in kuntum sarimeena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Anighdoo 'alaa harsikum in kuntum saarimeen |
| English (Pickthall) | Saying: Run unto your field if ye would pluck (the fruit). |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | "Go ye to your tilth (betimes) in the morning, if ye would gather the fruits." |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | [Saying], "Go early to your crop if you would cut the fruit." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Saying, “Leave early towards your crop before the poor people arrive, if indeed, you wish to harvest your crops.” |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | कहने लगे : गरीबों के आगमन से पहले सुबह-सवेरे ही अपने खेत की ओर निकल चलो, यदि तुम उसके फलों को तोड़ना चाहते हो। |

| عَرَبِي | فَانطَلَقوا وَهُم يَتَخافَتونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faintalaqoo wahum yatakhafatoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fantalaqoo wa hum yatakhaafatoon |
| English (Pickthall) | So they went off, saying one unto another in low tones: |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | So they departed, conversing in secret low tones, (saying)- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | So they set out, while lowering their voices, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | So they made their way towards their crop quickly, talking among themselves in hushed tones. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अतएव वे चुपके-चुपके बातें करते हुए चल पड़े |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | ग़रज़ वह लोग चले और आपस में चुपके चुपके कहते जाते थे |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | चुनाँचे वे आपस में चुपके-चुपके बातें करते हुए तेज़ क़दमों से अपने खेत की ओर चल पड़े। |
| Ayah 24 |
| عَرَبِي | أَن لا يَدخُلَنَّهَا اليَومَ عَلَيكُم مِسكينٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | An la yadkhulannaha alyawma AAalaykum miskeenun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Al laa yadkhulannahal yawma 'alaikum miskeen |
| English (Pickthall) | No needy man shall enter it to-day against you. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | "Let not a single indigent person break in upon you into the (garden) this day." |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | [Saying], "There will surely not enter it today upon you [any] poor person." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | They were saying to one another: “No poor person should come to you at the garden today.” |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | कि आज वहाँ कोई मुहताज तुम्हारे पास न पहुँचने पाए |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | वे आपस में कह रहे थे : आज बाग़ में तुम्हारे पास कोई ग़रीब हरगिज़ न पहुँचने पाए। |
| Ayah 25 |
| عَرَبِي | وَغَدَوا عَلىٰ حَردٍ قادِرينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waghadaw AAala hardin qadireena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa ghadaw 'alaa hardin qaadireen |
| English (Pickthall) | They went betimes, strong in (this) purpose. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And they opened the morning, strong in an (unjust) resolve. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And they went early in determination, [assuming themselves] able. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | They left in the early morning, determined not to let anyone get to their crops. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और वे आज तेज़ी के साथ चले मानो (मुहताजों को) रोक देने की उन्हें सामर्थ्य प्राप्त है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो वह लोग रोक थाम के एहतमाम के साथ फल तोड़ने की ठाने हुए सवेरे ही जा पहुँचे |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और वे सुबह-सवेरे इस हाल में चल पड़े कि वे अपने फलों को (गरीबों से) रोकने का पक्का इरादा किए हुए थे। |

| عَرَبِي | فَلَمّا رَأَوها قالوا إِنّا لَضالّونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Falamma raawha qaloo inna ladalloona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Falammaa ra awhaa qaalooo innaa ladaaalloon |
| English (Pickthall) | But when they saw it, they said: Lo! we are in error! |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | But when they saw the (garden), they said: "We have surely lost our way: |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | But when they saw it, they said, "Indeed, we are lost; |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Then, when they saw their crops having been burnt, they said to each other, “Surely, we have lost our way?!” |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | किन्तु जब उन्होंने उसको देखा, कहने लगे, "निश्चय ही हम भटक गए है। |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | फिर जब उसे (जला हुआ सियाह) देखा तो कहने लगे हम लोग भटक गए |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | जब उन्होंने उसे जला हुआ देखा, तो उन्होंने एक-दूसरे से कहा : निश्चय हम उस (बाग़) का रास्ता भूल गए हैं। |

| عَرَبِي | بَل نَحنُ مَحرومونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Bal nahnu mahroomoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Bal nahnu mahroomoon |
| English (Pickthall) | Nay, but we are desolate! |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | "Indeed we are shut out (of the fruits of our labour)!" |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Rather, we have been deprived." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | “Nay! We have been deprived of harvesting our crops because of us having been determined to prevent the poor from eating them.” |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | नहीं, बल्कि हम वंचित होकर रह गए।" |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | (ये हमारा बाग़ नहीं फिर ये सोचकर बोले) बात ये है कि हम लोग बड़े बदनसीब हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | बल्कि हम बाग़ के फलों को तोड़ने से रोक दिए गए हैं, क्योंकि हमने गरीबों को इससे रोकने का दृढ़ संकल्प कर लिया था। |

| عَرَبِي | قالَ أَوسَطُهُم أَلَم أَقُل لَكُم لَولا تُسَبِّحونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Qala awsatuhum alam aqul lakum lawla tusabbihoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Qaala awsatuhum alam aqul lakum law laa tusabbihoon |
| English (Pickthall) | The best among them said: Said I not unto you: Why glorify ye not (Allah)? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Said one of them, more just (than the rest): "Did I not say to you, 'Why not glorify (Allah)?'" |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | The most moderate of them said, "Did I not say to you, 'Why do you not exalt [Allah]?' " |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | The most virtuous among them said, “Did I not tell you when you made up your mind to prevent the poor from your crops: “Why do you not glorify Allah and repent to Him?”” |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | उनमें जो सबसे अच्छा था कहने लगा, "क्या मैंने तुमसे कहा नहीं था? तुम तसबीह क्यों नहीं करते?" |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | जो उनमें से मुनसिफ़ मिजाज़ था कहने लगा क्यों मैंने तुमसे नहीं कहा था कि तुम लोग (ख़ुदा की) तसबीह क्यों नहीं करते |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | उनमें से सर्वश्रेष्ठ ने कहा : क्या मैंने तुमसे उस समय नहीं कहा था, जब तुमने ग़रीबों को इससे वंचित करने का संकल्प किया था : तुम अल्लाह की पवित्रता क्यों नहीं बयान करते और उसके सामने तौबा क्यों नहीं करते?! |

| عَرَبِي | قالوا سُبحانَ رَبِّنا إِنّا كُنّا ظالِمينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Qaloo subhana rabbina inna kunna thalimeena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Qaaloo subhaana rabbinaaa innaa kunnaa zaalimeen |
| English (Pickthall) | They said: Glorified be our Lord! Lo! we have been wrong-doers. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | They said: "Glory to our Lord! Verily we have been doing wrong!" |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | They said, "Exalted is our Lord! Indeed, we were wrongdoers." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | They said, “Glory be to our Lord; indeed, we wronged ourselves when we decided to prevent the poor from the crops of our garden.” |

| عَرَبِي | فَأَقبَلَ بَعضُهُم عَلىٰ بَعضٍ يَتَلاوَمونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faaqbala baAAduhum AAala baAAdin yatalawamoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fa aqbala ba'duhum 'alaa ba'diny yatalaawamoon |
| English (Pickthall) | Then some of them drew near unto others, self-reproaching. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Then they turned, one against another, in reproach. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Then they approached one another, blaming each other. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | So they began to go back on their words out of regret. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | फिर वे परस्पर एक-दूसरे की ओर रुख़ करके लगे एक-दूसरे को मलामत करने। |

| عَرَبِي | قالوا يا وَيلَنا إِنّا كُنّا طاغينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Qaloo ya waylana inna kunna tagheena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Qaaloo yaa wailanaaa innaa kunnaa taagheen |
| English (Pickthall) | They said: Alas for us! In truth we were outrageous. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | They said: "Alas for us! We have indeed transgressed! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | They said, "O woe to us; indeed we were transgressors. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | They said, regretfully, “How much we have lost! Indeed, we transgressed the limits by depriving the poor of their rights.” |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | उन्होंने कहा, "अफ़सोस हम पर! निश्चय ही हम सरकश थे। |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | (आख़िर) सबने इक़रार किया कि हाए अफसोस बेशक हम ही ख़ुद सरकश थे |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | उन्होंने पछतावे से कहा : हाय हमारी क्षति! निश्चय हम ही ग़रीबों के हक़ को रोकने की योजना बनाकर हद से बढ़ गए थे। |
| Ayah 32 |
| عَرَبِي | عَسىٰ رَبُّنا أَن يُبدِلَنا خَيرًا مِنها إِنّا إِلىٰ رَبِّنا راغِبونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | AAasa rabbuna an yubdilana khayran minha inna ila rabbina raghiboona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | 'Asaa rabbunaaa any yubdilanaa khairam minhaaa innaaa ilaa rabbinaa raaghiboon |
| English (Pickthall) | It may be that our Lord will give us better than this in place thereof. Lo! we beseech our Lord. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | "It may be that our Lord will give us in exchange a better (garden) than this: for we do turn to Him (in repentance)!" |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Perhaps our Lord will substitute for us [one] better than it. Indeed, we are toward our Lord desirous." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | “It is hoped from our Lord that He gives us better than our garden in return. Indeed, we are desirous towards Him; we hope for forgiveness from Him and seek goodness from Him.” |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | "आशा है कि हमारा रब बदले में हमें इससे अच्छा प्रदान करे। हम अपने रब की ओर उन्मुख है।" |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | उम्मीद है कि हमारा परवरदिगार हमें इससे बेहतर बाग़ इनायत फ़रमाए हम अपने परवरदिगार की तरफ रूजू करते हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | आशा है कि हमारा पालनहार हमें बाग़ से बेहतर बदला प्रदान करेगा। निश्चय हम अकेले अल्लाह ही की ओर इच्छा रखने वाले हैं। उसी से क्षमा की आशा रखते हैं और उसी से भलाई माँगते हैं। |
| Ayah 33 |
| عَرَبِي | كَذٰلِكَ العَذابُ ۖ وَلَعَذابُ الآخِرَةِ أَكبَرُ ۚ لَو كانوا يَعلَمونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Kathalika alAAathabu walaAAathabu alakhirati akbaru law kanoo yaAAlamoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Kazaalikal azaab, wa la'azaabul aakhirati akbar; law kaanoo ya'lamoon |
| English (Pickthall) | Such was the punishment. And verily the punishment of the Hereafter is greater if they did but know. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Such is the Punishment (in this life); but greater is the Punishment in the Hereafter,- if only they knew! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Such is the punishment [of this world]. And the punishment of the Hereafter is greater, if they only knew. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | I punish those who disobey Me just like I punished these people with the punishment of depravation. And indeed, the punishment of the afterlife is greater, if only they were to know its severity and permanence. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | आजीविका से वंचित करके इस यातना की तरह हम उन लोगों को यातना देते हैं जो हमारी अवज्ञा करते हैं, और आख़िरत की यातना तो इससे भी बड़ी है। काश वे उसकी गंभीरता और निरंतरता को जानते! |

| عَرَبِي | إِنَّ لِلمُتَّقينَ عِندَ رَبِّهِم جَنّاتِ النَّعيمِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Inna lilmuttaqeena AAinda rabbihim jannati alnnaAAeemi |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Inna lilmuttaqeena 'inda rabbihim jannaatin na'eem |
| English (Pickthall) | Lo! for those who keep from evil are gardens of bliss with their Lord. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Verily, for the Righteous, are Gardens of Delight, in the Presence of their Lord. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Indeed, for the righteous with their Lord are the Gardens of Pleasure. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Indeed, those who are mindful of Allah by fulfilling His commands and refraining from the things He has not allowed, will have gardens of pleasure by their Lord, wherein they will live in permanent luxury. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | निश्चय अल्लाह से, उसके आदेशों का पालन करके और उसके निषेधों से बचकर, डरने वाले लोगों के लिए उनके पालनहार के पास नेमतों वाले बाग़ हैं। जिनमें वे नेमतों का आनंद लेंगे। उनकी नेमत कभी बाधित नहीं होगी। |

| عَرَبِي | أَفَنَجعَلُ المُسلِمينَ كَالمُجرِمينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | AfanajAAalu almuslimeena kaalmujrimeena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Afanaj'alul muslimeena kalmujrimeen |
| English (Pickthall) | Shall We then treat those who have surrendered as We treat the guilty? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Shall We then treat the People of Faith like the People of Sin? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Then will We treat the Muslims like the criminals? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Should I make the Muslims the same as the disbelievers in terms of requital, as the idolaters of Makkah claim? |

| عَرَبِي | ما لَكُم كَيفَ تَحكُمونَ |

| Transliteration (Unicode) | Maa lakum kaifa tahhkumoon |
| English (Pickthall) | What aileth you? How foolishly ye judge! |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | What is the matter with you? How judge ye? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | What is [the matter] with you? How do you judge? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O idolaters! What is wrong with you; how can you come to this oppressive, warped conclusion? |

| عَرَبِي | أَم لَكُم كِتابٌ فيهِ تَدرُسونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Am lakum kitabun feehi tadrusoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Am lakum kitaabun feehi tadrusoon |
| English (Pickthall) | Or have ye a scripture wherein ye learn |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Or have ye a book through which ye learn- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Or do you have a scripture in which you learn |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Do you have a book in which you read that there should be equality between the obedient and disobedient? |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | क्या तुम्हारे पास कोई किताब है जिसमें तुम पढ़ते हो |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | या तुम्हारे पास कोई ईमानी किताब है जिसमें तुम पढ़ लेते हो |

| عَرَبِي | إِنَّ لَكُم فيهِ لَما تَخَيَّرونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Inna lakum feehi lama takhayyaroona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Inna lakum feehi lamaa takhaiyaroon |
| English (Pickthall) | That ye shall indeed have all that ye choose? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | That ye shall have, through it whatever ye choose? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | That indeed for you is whatever you choose? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Indeed, in that book you would then have whatever you choose in the afterlife. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | कि उसमें तुम्हारे लिए वह कुछ है जो तुम पसन्द करो? |

| عَرَبِي | أَم لَكُم أَيمانٌ عَلَينا بالِغَةٌ إِلىٰ يَومِ القِيامَةِ ۙ إِنَّ لَكُم لَما تَحكُمونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Am lakum aymanun AAalayna balighatun ila yawmi alqiyamati inna lakum lama tahkumoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Am lakum aymaanun 'alainaa baalighatun ilaa yawmil qiyaamati inna lakum lamaa tahkumoon |
| English (Pickthall) | Or have ye a covenant on oath from Us that reacheth to the Day of Judgment, that yours shall be all that ye ordain? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Or have ye Covenants with Us to oath, reaching to the Day of Judgment, (providing) that ye shall have whatever ye shall demand? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Or do you have oaths [binding] upon Us, extending until the Day of Resurrection, that indeed for you is whatever you judge? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Or, do you have covenants with Me weighted with oaths, that you will get whatever you decide for yourselves? |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | या तुमने हमसे क़समें ले रखी है जो क़ियामत के दिन तक बाक़ी रहनेवाली है कि तुम्हारे लिए वही कुछ है जो तुम फ़ैसला करो! |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | क्या तुम्हारे लिए हमारे ज़िम्मे क़समों द्वारा पुष्टि की गई प्रतिज्ञाएं हैं, जिनकी अपेक्षा के अनुसार तुम्हें वही कुछ मिलेगा, जिसका तुम अपने लिए निर्णय करोगे? |

| عَرَبِي | سَلهُم أَيُّهُم بِذٰلِكَ زَعيمٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Salhum ayyuhum bithalika zaAAeemun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Salhum ayyuhum bizaa lika za'eem |
| English (Pickthall) | Ask them (O Muhammad) which of them will vouch for that! |

| Ayah 41 |
| عَرَبِي | أَم لَهُم شُرَكاءُ فَليَأتوا بِشُرَكائِهِم إِن كانوا صادِقينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Am lahum shurakao falyatoo bishurakaihim in kanoo sadiqeena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Am lahum shurakaaa'u falyaatoo bishurakaaa 'ihim in kaanoo saadiqeen |
| English (Pickthall) | Or have they other gods? Then let them bring their other gods if they are truthful |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Or have they some "Partners" (in Allahhead)? Then let them produce their "partners", if they are truthful! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Or do they have partners? Then let them bring their partners, if they should be truthful. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Or do they have associates other than Allah who make them equal in requital with the believers? If so, they should bring forth these associates of theirs if they are true in their claim that they have made them equal in requital with the believers. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | या उनके ठहराए हुए कुछ साझीदार है? फिर तो यह चाहिए कि वे अपने साझीदारों को ले आएँ, यदि वे सच्चे है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | या (इस बाब में) उनके और लोग भी शरीक हैं तो अगर ये लोग सच्चे हैं तो अपने शरीकों को सामने लाएँ |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | क्या उनके अल्लाह के सिवा कोई साझी हैं, जो उन्हें प्रतिफल में मोमिनों के बराबर ठहराते हैं?! तो उन्हें चाहिए कि अपने उन साझियों को ले आएँ, यदि वे अपने इस दावे में सच्चे हैं कि उन्होंने इन लोगों को प्रतिफल में मोमिनों के बराबर ठहराया है। |
| Ayah 42 |
| عَرَبِي | يَومَ يُكشَفُ عَن ساقٍ وَيُدعَونَ إِلَى السُّجودِ فَلا يَستَطيعونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Yawma yukshafu AAan saqin wayudAAawna ila alssujoodi fala yastateeAAoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Yawma yukshafu 'am saaqinw wa yud'awna ilas sujoodi falaa yastatee'oon |
| English (Pickthall) | On the day when it befalleth in earnest, and they are ordered to prostrate themselves but are not able, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | The Day that the shin shall be laid bare, and they shall be summoned to bow in adoration, but they shall not be able,- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | The Day the shin will be uncovered and they are invited to prostration but the disbelievers will not be able, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | On the Day of Judgement, the horror will become clear and our Lord will expose a part of His Shin. The people will be invited to prostrate, so the believers will prostrate, but the disbelievers and hypocrites will remain standing, unable to prostrate. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | जिस दिन पिंडली खुल जाएगी और वे सजदे के लिए बुलाए जाएँगे, तो वे (सजदा) न कर सकेंगे |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | जिस दिन पिंडली खोल दी जाए और (काफ़िर) लोग सजदे के लिए बुलाए जाएँगे तो (सजदा) न कर सकेंगे |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | क़ियामत का दिन बहुत भयावह होगा और हमारा पालनहार अपनी पिंडली खोल देगा और लोगों को सजदा करने के लिए कहा जाएगा। तो ईमान वाले सजदे में चले जाएँगे और काफ़िर तथा मुनाफ़िक़ लोग सजदा करने में असमर्थ रहेंगे। |
| Ayah 43 |
| عَرَبِي | خاشِعَةً أَبصارُهُم تَرهَقُهُم ذِلَّةٌ ۖ وَقَد كانوا يُدعَونَ إِلَى السُّجودِ وَهُم سالِمونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | KhashiAAatan absaruhum tarhaquhum thillatun waqad kanoo yudAAawna ila alssujoodi wahum salimoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Khaashi'atan absaaruhum tarhaquhum zillatunw wa qad kaanoo yud'awna ilassujoodi wa hum saalimoon |
| English (Pickthall) | With eyes downcast, abasement stupefying them. And they had been summoned to prostrate themselves while they were yet unhurt. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Their eyes will be cast down,- ignominy will cover them; seeing that they had been summoned aforetime to bow in adoration, while they were whole, (and had refused). |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Their eyes humbled, humiliation will cover them. And they used to be invited to prostration while they were sound. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Their eyesight will be humiliated; humiliation and regret will overcome them. Yet in the world, they were asked to prostrate to Allah while they were in safety from what they will be facing on that day. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | उनकी निगाहें झुकी हुई होंगी, ज़िल्लत (अपमान) उनपर छा रही होगी। उन्हें उस समय भी सजदा करने के लिए बुलाया जाता था जब वे भले-चंगे थे |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | उनकी ऑंखें झुकी हुई होंगी रूसवाई उन पर छाई होगी और (दुनिया में) ये लोग सजदे के लिए बुलाए जाते और हटटे कटटे तन्दरूस्त थे |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | उनकी निगाहें झुकी होंगी, उनपर अपमान और अफसोस छाया होगा। हालाँकि उन्हें दुनिया में अल्लाह के आगे सजदा करने के लिए कहा जाता था, जबकि वे, आज जिस स्थिति में हैं, उससे भले-चंगे थे। |
| Ayah 44 |
| عَرَبِي | فَذَرني وَمَن يُكَذِّبُ بِهٰذَا الحَديثِ ۖ سَنَستَدرِجُهُم مِن حَيثُ لا يَعلَمونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fatharnee waman yukaththibu bihatha alhadeethi sanastadrijuhum min haythu la yaAAlamoona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fazarnee wa many yukazzibu bihaazal hadeesi sanastad rijuhum min haisu laa ya'lamoon |
| English (Pickthall) | Leave Me (to deal) with those who give the lie to this pronouncement. We shall lead them on by steps from whence they know not. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Then leave Me alone with such as reject this Message: by degrees shall We punish them from directions they perceive not. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | So leave Me, [O Muhammad], with [the matter of] whoever denies the Qur'an. We will progressively lead them [to punishment] from where they do not know. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O Messenger! Leave me to deal with whoever denies this Qur’ān that has been revealed to you. I will drive them to the punishment gradually, in a way they do not realise that it is a method of leading them gradually into destruction. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अतः तुम मुझे छोड़ दो और उसको जो इस वाणी को झुठलाता है। हम ऐसों को क्रमशः (विनाश की ओर) ले जाएँगे, ऐसे तरीक़े से कि वे नहीं जानते |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो मुझे उस कलाम के झुठलाने वाले से समझ लेने दो हम उनको आहिस्ता आहिस्ता इस तरह पकड़ लेंगे कि उनको ख़बर भी न होगी |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तो (ऐ रसूल) आप मुझे तथा उसे छोड़ दें, जो आपपर उतरने वाले इस क़ुरआन को झुठलाता है। हम उन्हें धीरे-धीरे इस तरह यातना की ओर लेजाएँगे कि उन्हें पता नहीं चलेगा कि यह उनके साथ चाल चली जा रही है और उन्हें ढील दी जा रही है। |
| Ayah 45 |
| عَرَبِي | وَأُملي لَهُم ۚ إِنَّ كَيدي مَتينٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waomlee lahum inna kaydee mateenun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa umlee lahum; inna kaidee mateen |
| English (Pickthall) | Yet I bear with them, for lo! My scheme is firm. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | A (long) respite will I grant them: truly powerful is My Plan. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And I will give them time. Indeed, My plan is firm. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And I give them respite for a short while so that they go to extremes in their sin. Indeed, My plan regarding the people of disbelief and rejection is firm; they will not escape Me nor be safe from My punishment. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | मैं उन्हें ढील दे रहा हूँ। निश्चय ही मेरी चाल बड़ी मज़बूत है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और मैं उनको मोहलत दिये जाता हूँ बेशक मेरी तदबीर मज़बूत है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और मैं उन्हें कुछ सयम के लिए मोहलत दे दूँगा, ताकि वे अपने पाप में चरम पर पहुँच जाएँ। निश्चय इनकार करने और झुठलाने वालों के साथ मेरी चाल बहुत मज़बूत है। इसलिए वे मेरी पकड़ से छूट नहीं सकते और मेरी सज़ा से नहीं बच सकते। |
| Ayah 46 |
| عَرَبِي | أَم تَسأَلُهُم أَجرًا فَهُم مِن مَغرَمٍ مُثقَلونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Am tasaluhum ajran fahum min maghramin muthqaloona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Am tas'aluhum ajran fahum mim maghramim musqaloon |
| English (Pickthall) | Or dost thou (Muhammad) ask a fee from them so that they are heavily taxed? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Or is it that thou dost ask them for a reward, so that they are burdened with a load of debt?- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Or do you ask of them a payment, so they are by debt burdened down? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O Messenger! Do you seek a reward from them for what you invite them towards, due to which they are greatly burdened, being the cause of their turning away from you? The reality is the opposite: you do not seek any reward from them; so what stops them from following you? |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | (क्या वे यातना ही चाहते हैं) या तुम उनसे कोई बदला माँग रहे हो कि वे तावान के बोझ से दबे जाते हों? |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | (ऐ रसूल) क्या तुम उनसे (तबलीग़े रिसालत का) कुछ सिला माँगते हो कि उन पर तावान का बोझ पड़ रहा है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | क्या (ऐ रसूल!) आप उनसे, उन्हें सत्य की ओर बुलाने का कोई मुआवज़ा माँग रहे हैं, जिसके कारण वे एक भारी बोझ सहन करते हैं, तो यही कारण है कि वे आपसे दूर हो गए हैं?! हालाँकि सच्चाई इसके विपरीत है। क्योंकि आप उनसे कोई मुआवज़ा नहीं माँगते हैं। फिर उन्हें आपका अनुसरण करने से क्या रोकता है?! |
| Ayah 47 |
| عَرَبِي | أَم عِندَهُمُ الغَيبُ فَهُم يَكتُبونَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Am AAindahumu alghaybu fahum yaktuboona |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Am 'indahumul ghaibu fahum yaktuboon |
| English (Pickthall) | Or is the Unseen theirs that they can write (thereof)? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Or that the Unseen is in their hands, so that they can write it down? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Or have they [knowledge of] the unseen, so they write [it] down? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Or do they have knowledge of the Ghaib from which they write whatever proof appeal to them, that they then use to argue against you? |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | या उनके पास परोक्ष का ज्ञान है तो वे लिख रहे हैं? |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | या उनके इस ग़ैब (की ख़बर) है कि ये लोग लिख लिया करते हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | या उनके पास ग़ैब (परोक्ष) का ज्ञान है कि वे जो भी तर्क पसंद करते हैं, लिख लेते हैं, जिनके द्वारा वे आपसे बहस करते हैं?! |
| Ayah 48 |
| عَرَبِي | فَاصبِر لِحُكمِ رَبِّكَ وَلا تَكُن كَصاحِبِ الحوتِ إِذ نادىٰ وَهُوَ مَكظومٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faisbir lihukmi rabbika wala takun kasahibi alhooti ith nada wahuwa makthoomun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fasbir lihkmi rabbika wa laa takun kasaahibil boot; iz naadaa wa huwa makzoom |
| English (Pickthall) | But wait thou for thy Lord's decree, and be not like him of the fish, who cried out in despair. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | So wait with patience for the Command of thy Lord, and be not like the Companion of the Fish,- when he cried out in agony. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Then be patient for the decision of your Lord, [O Muhammad], and be not like the companion of the fish when he called out while he was distressed. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O Messenger! So wait for the decision of your Lord to give them respite and gradually lead them into destruction. And do not be like the companion of the whale i.e. Jonah (peace be upon him) who became annoyed with his people, and then called out to his Lord while distressed in the darkness of the sea and the darkness of the stomach of the whale. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | तो अपने रब के आदेश हेतु धैर्य से काम लो और मछलीवाले (यूनुस अलै॰) की तरह न हो जाना, जबकि उसने पुकारा था इस दशा में कि वह ग़म में घुट रहा था। |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो तुम अपने परवरदिगार के हुक्म के इन्तेज़ार में सब्र करो और मछली (का निवाला होने) वाले (यूनुस) के ऐसे न हो जाओ कि जब वह ग़ुस्से में भरे हुए थे और अपने परवरदिगार को पुकारा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अतः (ऐ रसूल) आपके पालनहार ने उन्हें मोहलत देकर ढील देने का जो निर्णय किया है, उसके लिए धैर्य से काम लें और अपने समुदाय से ऊबने में मछली वाले नबी यूनुस अलैहिस्सलाम की तरह न हो जाएँ; जब उन्होंने अपने पालनहार को इस दशा में पुकार कि वह समुद्र के अंधेरे और मछली के पेट के अंधेरे में व्यथित थे। |
| Ayah 49 |
| عَرَبِي | لَولا أَن تَدارَكَهُ نِعمَةٌ مِن رَبِّهِ لَنُبِذَ بِالعَراءِ وَهُوَ مَذمومٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Lawla an tadarakahu niAAmatun min rabbihi lanubitha bialAAarai wahuwa mathmoomun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Law laaa an tadaara kahoo ni'matum mir rabbihee lanubiza bil'araaa'i wa huwa mazmoom |
| English (Pickthall) | Had it not been that favour from his Lord had reached him he surely had been cast into the wilderness while he was reprobate. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Had not Grace from his Lord reached him, he would indeed have been cast off on the naked shore, in disgrace. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | If not that a favor from his Lord overtook him, he would have been thrown onto the naked shore while he was censured. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Had it not been for the mercy of Allah reaching him, the whale would have thrown him on a barren land, rebuked. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | यदि उसके रब की अनुकम्पा उसके साथ न हो जाती तो वह अवश्य ही चटियल मैदान में बुरे हाल में डाल दिया जाता। |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | अगर तुम्हारे परवरदिगार की मेहरबानी उनकी यावरी न करती तो चटियल मैदान में डाल दिए जाते और उनका बुरा हाल होता |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अगर अल्लाह की दया उनके साथ न होती, तो मछली उन्हें एक निर्जन भूमि पर इस दशा में फेंक देती कि वह निंदित होते। |
| Ayah 50 |
| عَرَبِي | فَاجتَباهُ رَبُّهُ فَجَعَلَهُ مِنَ الصّالِحينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faijtabahu rabbuhu fajaAAalahu mina alssaliheena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fajtabaahu rabbuhoo faja'alahoo minas saaliheen |
| English (Pickthall) | But his Lord chose him and placed him among the righteous. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Thus did his Lord choose him and make him of the Company of the Righteous. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And his Lord chose him and made him of the righteous. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | But his Lord chose him and made him one of His pious servants. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अन्ततः उसके रब ने उसे चुन लिया और उसे अच्छे लोगों में सम्मिलित कर दिया |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो उनके परवरदिगार ने उनको बरगुज़ीदा करके नेकोकारों से बना दिया |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | फिर उनके पालनहार ने उन्हें चुन लिया और अपने सदाचारी बंदों में शामिल कर दिया। |
| Ayah 51 |
| عَرَبِي | وَإِن يَكادُ الَّذينَ كَفَروا لَيُزلِقونَكَ بِأَبصارِهِم لَمّا سَمِعُوا الذِّكرَ وَيَقولونَ إِنَّهُ لَمَجنونٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wain yakadu allatheena kafaroo layuzliqoonaka biabsarihim lamma samiAAoo alththikra wayaqooloona innahu lamajnoonun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa iny-yakaadul lazeena kafaroo la-yuzliqoonaka biabsaarihim lammaa saml'uz-Zikra wa yaqooloona innahoo lamajnoon |
| English (Pickthall) | And lo! those who disbelieve would fain disconcert thee with their eyes when they hear the Reminder, and they say: Lo! he is indeed mad; |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And the Unbelievers would almost trip thee up with their eyes when they hear the Message; and they say: "Surely he is possessed!" |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And indeed, those who disbelieve would almost make you slip with their eyes when they hear the message, and they say, "Indeed, he is mad." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And indeed, those who disbelieve in Allah and reject his Messengers could almost bring you to the ground with their eyes due to their extremely sharp glances towards you when they hear this Qur’ān that was revealed to you. While following their desires and turning away from the truth, they say, “Indeed, the Messenger who has brought it is a madman.” |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | जब वे लोग, जिन्होंने इनकार किया, ज़िक्र (क़ुरआन) सुनते है और कहते है, "वह तो दीवाना है!" तो ऐसा लगता है कि वे अपनी निगाहों के ज़ोर से तुम्हें फिसला देंगे |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और कुफ्फ़ार जब क़ुरान को सुनते हैं तो मालूम होता है कि ये लोग तुम्हें घूर घूर कर (राह रास्त से) ज़रूर फिसला देंगे |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और अल्लाह का इनकार करने वाले तथा उसके रसूल को झुठलाने वाले, जब आपपर उतरने वाले इस क़ुरआन को सुनते हैं, तो आपको ऐसे घूरते हैं कि लगता है कि वे आपको अपनी आँखों से अवश्य ही पछाड़ देंगे। तथा वे (अपनी इच्छाओं का पालन करते हुए और सत्य से उपेक्षा करते हुए) कहते हैं : निश्चय इस क़ुरआन को लाने वाला रसूल अवश्य ही दीवाना है। |
| Ayah 52 |
| عَرَبِي | وَما هُوَ إِلّا ذِكرٌ لِلعالَمينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wama huwa illa thikrun lilAAalameena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa maa huwa illaa zikrul lil'aalameen |
| English (Pickthall) | When it is naught else than a Reminder to creation. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | But it is nothing less than a Message to all the worlds. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | But it is not except a reminder to the worlds. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Yet the Qur’ān that has been revealed to you is only a reminder and admonition for the humans and the Jinn. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | हालाँकि वह सारे संसार के लिए एक अनुस्मृति है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और कहते हैं कि ये तो सिड़ी हैं और ये (क़ुरान) तो सारे जहाँन की नसीहत है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | हालाँकि आप पर उतरने वाला क़ुरआन मनुष्य और जिन्न के लिए मात्र एक उपदेश और अनुस्मारक है। |
