| English (Pickthall) | And show not favour, seeking wordly gain! |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Nor expect, in giving, any increase (for thyself)! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And do not confer favor to acquire more |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Do not think that you have done a favour to your Lord by regarding your righteous actions to be plenty. |

| عَرَبِي | وَلِرَبِّكَ فَاصبِر |

| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa li Rabbika fasbir |
| English (Pickthall) | For the sake of thy Lord, be patient! |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | But, for thy Lord's (Cause), be patient and constant! |

| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fazaalika yawma 'iziny yawmun 'aseer |
| English (Pickthall) | Surely that day will be a day of anguish, |

| Transliteration (Unicode) | 'Alal kaafireena ghairu yaseer |
| English (Pickthall) | Not of ease, for disbelievers. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Far from easy for those without Faith. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | For the disbelievers - not easy. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | For those who reject Allah and His messengers it will not be easy. |

| English (Pickthall) | Leave Me (to deal) with him whom I created lonely, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Leave Me alone, (to deal) with the (creature) whom I created (bare and) alone!- |

| English (Abridged Expl.) | Leave me, O Messenger, and the one whom I created alone in the womb of his mother without wealth or children (This refers to Walid bin Al Mughira). |

| عَرَبِي | وَجَعَلتُ لَهُ مالًا مَمدودًا |

| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa ja'altu lahoo maalam mamdoodaa |
| English (Pickthall) | And then bestowed upon him ample means, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | To whom I granted resources in abundance, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And to whom I granted extensive wealth |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | I gave him plenty wealth. |

| عَرَبِي | وَبَنينَ شُهودًا |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wabaneena shuhoodan |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa baneena shuhoodaa |
| English (Pickthall) | And sons abiding in his presence |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And sons to be by his side!- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And children present [with him] |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | I gave him children who were present with him, who attended gatherings with him and who did not leave him on account of travel due to the abundance of his wealth. |

| عَرَبِي | وَمَهَّدتُ لَهُ تَمهيدًا |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wamahhadtu lahu tamheedan |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa mahhattu lahoo tamheeda |
| English (Pickthall) | And made (life) smooth for him. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | To whom I made (life) smooth and comfortable! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And spread [everything] before him, easing [his life]. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | I extended to him his livelihood, provision and children profusely. |

| عَرَبِي | ثُمَّ يَطمَعُ أَن أَزيدَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Thumma yatmaAAu an azeeda |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Summa yat ma'u an azeed |
| English (Pickthall) | Yet he desireth that I should give more. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Yet is he greedy-that I should add (yet more);- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Then he desires that I should add more. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Then despite his denial of Me he desires that I give him more after I gave him all of that. |

| عَرَبِي | كَلّا ۖ إِنَّهُ كانَ لِآياتِنا عَنيدًا |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Kalla innahu kana liayatina AAaneedan |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Kallaaa innahoo kaana li Aayaatinaa 'aneedaa |
| English (Pickthall) | Nay! For lo! he hath been stubborn to Our revelations. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | By no means! For to Our Signs he has been refractory! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | No! Indeed, he has been toward Our verses obstinate. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | The matter is not as he thinks. He was opposed to My verses that I revealed to My messenger denying them. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | मामला वैसा नहीं है, जैसा उसने समझ लिया है। वह हमारे रसूल पर उतरने वाली हमारी आयतों का विरोधी और उन्हें झुठलाने वाला है। |

| عَرَبِي | سَأُرهِقُهُ صَعودًا |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Saorhiquhu saAAoodan |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Sa urhiquhoo sa'oodaa |
| English (Pickthall) | On him I shall impose a fearful doom. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Soon will I visit him with a mount of calamities! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | I will cover him with arduous torment. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | I will impose on him difficulty from a punishment that he will not be able to bear. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | शीघ्र ही मैं उसे घेरकर कठिन चढ़ाई चढ़वाऊँगा |

| عَرَبِي | إِنَّهُ فَكَّرَ وَقَدَّرَ |

| Transliteration (Unicode) | Innahoo fakkara wa qaddar |
| English (Pickthall) | For lo! he did consider; then he planned - |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | For he thought and he plotted;- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Indeed, he thought and deliberated. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | This disbeliever whom I bestowed with those favours thought about what he should say in order to refute the Qur’ān, and planned this within himself. |

| English (Abridged Expl.) | The he frowned and scowled when he did not find anything to challenge the Qur’ān with. |

| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Thumma adbara waistakbara |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Summaa adbara wastakbar |
| English (Pickthall) | Then turned he away in pride |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Then he turned back and was haughty; |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Then he turned back and was arrogant |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Then he turned away from faith and was too proud to follow the Prophet (peace be upon him). |

| عَرَبِي | فَقالَ إِن هٰذا إِلّا سِحرٌ يُؤثَرُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faqala in hatha illa sihrun yutharu |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Faqaala in haazaaa illaa sihruny yu'sar |
| English (Pickthall) | And said: This is naught else than magic from of old; |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Then said he: "This is nothing but magic, derived from of old; |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others]. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | He said: This what Muhammad brought is not Allah’s speech, but it is sorcery that he relates from others. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अन्ततः बोला, "यह तो बस एक जादू है, जो पहले से चला आ रहा है |

| عَرَبِي | إِن هٰذا إِلّا قَولُ البَشَرِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | In hatha illa qawlu albashari |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | In haazaaa illaa qawlul bashar |
| English (Pickthall) | This is naught else than speech of mortal man. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | "This is nothing but the word of a mortal!" |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | This is not but the word of a human being." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | This is not Allah’s speech, but it is the speech of man. |

| English (Pickthall) | Him shall I fling unto the burning. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Soon will I cast him into Hell-Fire! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | I will drive him into Saqar. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | I will enter this disbeliever into one of the levels of the Fire, which is Saqar, to suffer from its heat. |

| عَرَبِي | وَما أَدراكَ ما سَقَرُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wama adraka ma saqaru |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa maaa adraaka maa saqar |
| English (Pickthall) | - Ah, what will convey unto thee what that burning is! - |

| عَرَبِي | لا تُبقي وَلا تَذَرُ |

| Transliteration (Unicode) | Laa tubqee wa laa tazar |
| English (Pickthall) | It leaveth naught; it spareth naught |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Naught doth it permit to endure, and naught doth it leave alone!- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | It lets nothing remain and leaves nothing [unburned], |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | It does not spare any person that is punished in it except that it comes on him and does not leave him. Then he returns to how it was and it comes to him, again and again. |

| عَرَبِي | وَما جَعَلنا أَصحابَ النّارِ إِلّا مَلائِكَةً ۙ وَما جَعَلنا عِدَّتَهُم إِلّا فِتنَةً لِلَّذينَ كَفَروا لِيَستَيقِنَ الَّذينَ أوتُوا الكِتابَ وَيَزدادَ الَّذينَ آمَنوا إيمانًا ۙ وَلا يَرتابَ الَّذينَ أوتُوا الكِتابَ وَالمُؤمِنونَ ۙ وَلِيَقولَ الَّذينَ في قُلوبِهِم مَرَضٌ وَالكافِرونَ ماذا أَرادَ اللَّهُ بِهٰذا مَثَلًا ۚ كَذٰلِكَ يُضِلُّ اللَّهُ مَن يَشاءُ وَيَهدي مَن يَشاءُ ۚ وَما يَعلَمُ جُنودَ رَبِّكَ إِلّا هُوَ ۚ وَما هِيَ إِلّا ذِكرىٰ لِلبَشَرِ |

Thus Allah sendeth astray whom He will, and whom He will He guideth. None knoweth the hosts of thy Lord save Him. This is naught else than a Reminder unto mortals. |

And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | I did not make the wardens of the Fire except angels, so humans do not have the power to face them. Abu Jahl was lying when he and his people claimed that they have the ability to attack them and then they will come out of the Fire. I did not make this number of theirs except to test those who reject Allah, so that the Jews who were given the Torah and the Christians who were given the Gospel will become certain when the Qur’ān that confirms what is in their scriptures is revealed, so that the faith of the believers increases when the people of the scripture agree with them and the Jews, Christians and the believers do not have any doubt, and so that those who waver in faith and those who are disbelievers say: What does Allah intend by this strange number?! Just as those who deny this number are misguided and those who accept it are guided, Allah misguides whoever He wishes to misguide and He guides whoever He wishes to guide. No one knows the forces of your Lord, because of their huge number, besides Him, may He be glorified. So let Abu Jahl who, mockingly and dismissively, said, “Does Muhammad only have nineteen aides?!” know this. The Fire is only a reminder for human beings, through which they can come to know of Allah’s greatness, may He be glorified. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और हमने उस आग पर नियुक्त रहनेवालों को फ़रिश्ते ही बनाया है, और हमने उनकी संख्या को इनकार करनेवालों के लिए मुसीबत और आज़माइश ही बनाकर रखा है। ताकि वे लोग जिन्हें किताब प्रदान की गई थी पूर्ण विश्वास प्राप्त करें, और वे लोग जो ईमान ले आए वे ईमान में और आगे बढ़ जाएँ। और जिन लोगों को किताब प्रदान की गई वे और ईमानवाले किसी संशय मे न पड़े, और ताकि जिनके दिलों मे रोग है वे और इनकार करनेवाले कहें, "इस वर्णन से अल्लाह का क्या अभिप्राय है?" इस प्रकार अल्लाह जिसे चाहता है पथभ्रष्ट कर देता है और जिसे चाहता हैं संमार्ग प्रदान करता है। और तुम्हारे रब की सेनाओं को स्वयं उसके सिवा कोई नहीं जानता, और यह तो मनुष्य के लिए मात्र एक शिक्षा-सामग्री है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और हमने जहन्नुम का निगेहबान तो बस फरिश्तों को बनाया है और उनका ये शुमार भी काफिरों की आज़माइश के लिए मुक़र्रर किया ताकि अहले किताब (फौरन) यक़ीन कर लें और मोमिनो का ईमान और ज्यादा हो और अहले किताब और मोमिनीन (किसी तरह) शक़ न करें और जिन लोगों के दिल में (निफ़ाक का) मर्ज़ है (वह) और काफिर लोग कह बैठे कि इस मसल (के बयान करने) से ख़ुदा का क्या मतलब है यूँ ख़ुदा जिसे चाहता है गुमराही में छोड़ देता है और जिसे चाहता है हिदायत करता है और तुम्हारे परवरदिगार के लशकरों को उसके सिवा कोई नहीं जानता और ये तो आदमियों के लिए बस नसीहत है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | हमने जहन्नम के रक्षक के तौर पर केवल फ़रिश्तों को नियुक्त किया है, जिनसे मुक़ाबला करने की शक्ति इनसान के पास नहीं है। तथा हमने उनकी यह संख्या केवल अल्लाह का इनकार करने वालों के परीक्षण के तौर पर रखी है, ताकि वे इस तरह की बातें कहें, फिर उनकी यातना में वृद्धि कर दी जाए। और ताकि यहूदियों को, जिन्हें तौरात दी गई है, और ईसाइयों को, जिन्हें इंजील दी गई है, क़ुरआन द्वारा उनकी किताबों की बातों की पुष्टि करने के कारण विश्वास हो जाए। तथा ईमान वालों के ईमान में वृद्धि हो जाए जब पुस्तक के लोग (यहूदी एवं ईसाई) उनके साथ सहमत हों। और यहूदी, ईसाई और ईमान वाले किसी संदेह में न पड़ें। और ताकि ईमान में संकोच करने वाले और काफ़िर लोग कहें : इस विचित्र संख्या से अल्लाह का क्या उद्देश्य है?! जिस तरह इस संख्या का इनकार करने वाले को गुमराह किया गया है और उसकी पुष्टि करने वाले को हिदायत दी गई है, उसी तरह अल्लाह जिसे गुमराह करना चाहे, उसे गुमराह करता है और जिसे हिदायत देना चाहे, उसे हिदायत देता है। और तेरे रब की सेनाओं को उनकी बहुतायत के कारण, उस महिमावान् के सिवा कोई नहीं जानता। और जहन्नम तो मनुष्यों को मात्र याद दिलाने के लिए है, जिससे वे सर्वशक्तिमान अल्लाह की महानता को जानते हैं। |

| عَرَبِي | كَلّا وَالقَمَرِ |

| عَرَبِي | كُلُّ نَفسٍ بِما كَسَبَت رَهينَةٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Kullu nafsin bima kasabat raheenatun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Kullu nafsim bim kasabat raheenah |
| English (Pickthall) | Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Every soul will be taken to task for the actions that it did. Either its actions will destroy it or they will release and rescue it from destruction. |

| English (Pickthall) | They will answer: We were not of those who prayed |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | The disbelievers will answer them saying: We were not of those who discharged the obligatory prayer in the worldly life. |

| عَرَبِي | وَلَم نَكُ نُطعِمُ المِسكينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Walam naku nutAAimu almiskeena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa lam naku nut'imul miskeen |
| English (Pickthall) | Nor did we feed the wretched. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent; |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Nor did we used to feed the poor. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | We did not feed the poor from what Allah gave us. |

| عَرَبِي | وَكُنّا نَخوضُ مَعَ الخائِضينَ |

| English (Abridged Expl.) | We used to be with the people of falsehood and go wherever they go. We used to speak to the people of misguidance and deviation. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | "और व्यर्थ बात और कठ-हुज्जती में पड़े रहनेवालों के साथ हम भी उसी में लगे रहते थे। |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और अहले बातिल के साथ हम भी बड़े काम में घुस पड़ते थे |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | हम झूठे लोगों के साथ थे, वे जहाँ भी गए हम उनके साथ घूमते थे और गुमराह तथा भटके हुए लोगों के साथ बातों में लगे रहते थे। |
| Ayah 46 |
| عَرَبِي | وَكُنّا نُكَذِّبُ بِيَومِ الدّينِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wakunna nukaththibu biyawmi alddeeni |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa kunnaa nukazzibu bi yawmid Deen |
| English (Pickthall) | And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And we used to deny the Day of Recompense |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | We used to deny the day of recompense. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और हम बदला दिए जाने के दिन को झुठलाते थे, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और रोज़ जज़ा को झुठलाया करते थे (और यूँ ही रहे) |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और हम बदले के दिन को झुठलाया करते थे। |
| Ayah 47 |
| عَرَبِي | حَتّىٰ أَتانَا اليَقينُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Hatta atana alyaqeenu |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Hattaaa ataanal yaqeen |
| English (Pickthall) | Till the Inevitable came unto us. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Until there came to us the certainty." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | We persisted in this denial until death came to us and prevented us from repenting. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | "यहाँ तक कि विश्वसनीय चीज़ (प्रलय-दिवस) में हमें आ लिया।" |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | यहाँ तक कि हमें मौत आ गयी |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | हम इसे नकारते रहे यहाँ तक कि मौत हमारे पास आ गई और उसने हमें तौबा करने से रोक दिया। |
| Ayah 48 |
| عَرَبِي | فَما تَنفَعُهُم شَفاعَةُ الشّافِعينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fama tanfaAAuhum shafaAAatu alshshafiAAeena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Famaa tanfa'uhum shafaa'atush shaafi'een |
| English (Pickthall) | The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | On the Day of Judgment, the mediation of intercessors from the angels, prophets and pious ones, will not benefit them, because the requirement for the acceptance of intercession is that the thing for which intercession is made must be approved. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अतः सिफ़ारिश करनेवालों को कोई सिफ़ारिश उनको कुछ लाभ न पहुँचा सकेगी |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो (उस वक्त) उन्हें सिफ़ारिश करने वालों की सिफ़ारिश कुछ काम न आएगी |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | चुनाँचे सिफ़ारिश करने वाले फ़रिश्तों, नबियों और सदाचारियों की मध्यस्थता (सिफ़ारिश) क़ियामत के दिन उन्हें कुछ लाभ न देगी। क्योंकि अल्लाह के यहाँ सिफ़ारिश क़बूल होने की शर्तों में से एक अल्लाह का उस बंदे से राज़ी होना है, जिसके लिए सिफ़ारिश की जा रही है। |
| Ayah 49 |
| عَرَبِي | فَما لَهُم عَنِ التَّذكِرَةِ مُعرِضينَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fama lahum AAani alttathkirati muAArideena |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Famaa lahum 'anittazkirati mu'rideen |
| English (Pickthall) | Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | What has made these idolaters turn away from the Qur’ān?! |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | आख़िर उन्हें क्या हुआ है कि वे नसीहत से कतराते है, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और उन्हें क्या हो गया है कि नसीहत से मुँह मोड़े हुए हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | किस चीज़ ने इन काफ़िरों को क़ुरआन से मुँह मोड़ने वाला बना दिया है?! |
| Ayah 50 |
| عَرَبِي | كَأَنَّهُم حُمُرٌ مُستَنفِرَةٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Kaannahum humurun mustanfiratun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Ka annahum humurum mustanfirah |
| English (Pickthall) | As they were frightened asses |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | As if they were affrighted asses, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | As if they were alarmed donkeys |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | As if they, in their turning away from and aversion to it, are wild donkeys that are extremely resistant. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | मानो वे बिदके हुए जंगली गधे है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | गोया वह वहशी गधे हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | वे क़ुरआन से मुँह मोड़ने और उससे भागने में सख़्त बिदकने वाले जंगली गधों जैसे मालूम होते हैं। |

| عَرَبِي | فَرَّت مِن قَسوَرَةٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Farrat min qaswaratin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Farrat min qaswarah |
| English (Pickthall) | Fleeing from a lion? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Fleeing from a lion! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Fleeing from a lion? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | That have fled from a lion out of fear for it. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | जो शेर से (डरकर) भागे है? |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | कि येर से (दुम दबा कर) भागते हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | जो शेर से डरकर भाग खड़े हुए हैं। |
| Ayah 52 |
| عَرَبِي | بَل يُريدُ كُلُّ امرِئٍ مِنهُم أَن يُؤتىٰ صُحُفًا مُنَشَّرَةً |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Bal yureedu kullu imriin minhum an yuta suhufan munashsharatan |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Bal yureedu kullum ri'im minhum any yu'taa suhufam munashsharah |
| English (Pickthall) | Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Instead, each one of these idolaters wants for there to be an open book by his head side that tells him that Muhammad is a messenger from Allah. The reason for this is not the lack of proof or weakness of evidence. It is only obstinacy and pride. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | नहीं, बल्कि उनमें से प्रत्येक व्यक्ति चाहता है कि उसे खुली किताबें दी जाएँ |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | असल ये है कि उनमें से हर शख़्श इसका मुतमइनी है कि उसे खुली हुई (आसमानी) किताबें अता की जाएँ |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | बल्कि इन मुश्रिकों में से हर व्यक्ति चाहता है कि उसके सिर के पास एक खुली किताब हो, जो उसे बताए कि मुहम्मद सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि व सल्लम अल्लाह के रसूल हैं। और इसका कारण प्रमाणों की कमी या तर्कों का कमज़ोर होना नहीं है, बल्कि इसका कारण हठ और घमंड है। |
| Ayah 53 |
| عَرَبِي | كَلّا ۖ بَل لا يَخافونَ الآخِرَةَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Kalla bal la yakhafoona alakhirata |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Kallaa bal laa yakhaafoonal aakhirah |
| English (Pickthall) | Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | By no means! But they fear not the Hereafter, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | The matter is not like that. In fact, the reason for their persistence in their misguidance is that they do not have faith in the punishment of the afterlife, so they remained in their disbelief. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | कदापि नहीं, बल्कि ले आख़िरत से डरते नहीं |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | ये तो हरगिज़ न होगा बल्कि ये तो आख़ेरत ही से नहीं डरते |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | मामला यह नहीं है। बल्कि उनके गुमराही में में बने रहने का कारण यह है कि वे आख़िरत की यातना पर ईमान नहीं रखते हैं। इसलिए वे अपने कुफ़्र पर बने हुए हैं। |
| Ayah 54 |
| عَرَبِي | كَلّا إِنَّهُ تَذكِرَةٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Kalla innahu tathkiratun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Kallaaa innahoo tazkirah |
| English (Pickthall) | Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Nay, this surely is an admonition: |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Indeed, this Qur’ān is an admonition and a reminder. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | कुछ नहीं, वह तो एक अनुस्मति है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | हाँ हाँ बेशक ये (क़ुरान सरा सर) नसीहत है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | सुन लो, निःसंदेह यह क़ुरआन एक उपदेश और याददेहानी है। |
| Ayah 55 |
| عَرَبِي | فَمَن شاءَ ذَكَرَهُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faman shaa thakarahu |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fa man shaaa'a zakarah |
| English (Pickthall) | So whosoever will may heed. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Then whoever wills will remember it. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Whoever wishes to read the Qur’ān and take lesson from it does so. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अब जो कोई चाहे इससे नसीहत हासिल करे, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो जो चाहे उसे याद रखे |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अतः जो क़ुरआन पढ़ना और उससे नसीहत हासिल करना चाहे, वह उसे पढ़े और उससे नसीहत हासिल करे। |
| Ayah 56 |
| عَرَبِي | وَما يَذكُرونَ إِلّا أَن يَشاءَ اللَّهُ ۚ هُوَ أَهلُ التَّقوىٰ وَأَهلُ المَغفِرَةِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wama yathkuroona illa an yashaa Allahu huwa ahlu alttaqwa waahlu almaghfirati |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa maa yazkuroona illaaa any yashaaa'al laah; Huwa ahlut taqwaa wa ahlul maghfirah |
| English (Pickthall) | And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | None takes lesson from it besides those whom Allah wills to take lesson. He (may He be glorified) is worthy of being mindful of by the fulfilment of His instructions and the avoidance of His prohibitions. He is worthy of forgiving the sins of His servants when they repent to Him. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और वे नसीहत हासिल नहीं करेंगे। यह और बात है कि अल्लाह ही ऐसा चाहे। वही इस योग्य है कि उसका डर रखा जाए और इस योग्य भी कि क्षमा करे |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और ख़ुदा की मशीयत के बग़ैर ये लोग याद रखने वाले नहीं वही (बन्दों के) डराने के क़ाबिल और बख्यिश का मालिक है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | वे नसीहत हासिल नहीं करेंगे, परंतु यह कि अल्लाह चाहे कि वे नसीहत हासिल करें। वह पवित्र अल्लाह इस योग्य है कि उसके आदेशों का पालन करके और उसके निषेधों से बचकर, उससे डरा जाए। तथा वह इस योग्य है कि अपने बंदों के गुनाहों को माफ़ कर दे, यदि वे उसके समक्ष तौबा करें। |
