| English (Pickthall) | By those who drag forth to destruction, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | By those [angels] who extract with violence |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Allah takes an oath on the angels who pull out the souls of the disbelievers with severity and harshness. |

| عَرَبِي | وَالنّاشِطاتِ نَشطًا |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waalnnashitati nashtan |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wan naa shi taati nashta |
| English (Pickthall) | By the meteors rushing, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And [by] those who remove with ease |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And He also takes an oath on the angels who gently remove the souls of the believers with ease and smoothness. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और गवाह है वे (हवाएँ) जो नर्मी के साथ चलें, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | जो (कुफ्फ़ार की रूह) डूब कर सख्ती से खींच लेते हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और अल्लाह ने उन फ़रिश्तों की क़सम खाई है, जो मोमिनों के प्राण बड़ी आसानी और सरलता से निकालते हैं। |

| عَرَبِي | وَالسّابِحاتِ سَبحًا |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waalssabihati sabhan |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wass saabi-haati sabha |
| English (Pickthall) | By the lone stars floating, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | He also takes an oath on the angels who float from the heavens to the earth, by the command of Allah. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और गवाह है वे जो वायुमंडल में तैरें, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और उनकी क़सम जो (मोमिनीन की जान) आसानी से खोल देते हैं |

| عَرَبِي | فَالسّابِقاتِ سَبقًا |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faalssabiqati sabqan |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fass saabi qaati sabqa |
| English (Pickthall) | By the angels hastening, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Then press forward as in a race, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And those who race each other in a race |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And He also takes an oath on the angels who compete with one another to carry out the command of Allah. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | फिर एक-दूसरे से अग्रसर हों, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और उनकी क़सम जो (आसमान ज़मीन के दरमियान) पैरते फिरते हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और अल्लाह ने उन फ़रिश्तों की क़सम खाई है, जो उसके आदेश के पालन में एक-दूसरे से आगे बढ़ जाते हैं। |
| Ayah 5 |
| عَرَبِي | فَالمُدَبِّراتِ أَمرًا |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faalmudabbirati amran |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fal mu dab-bi raati amra |
| English (Pickthall) | And those who govern the event, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And those who arrange [each] matter, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | He also takes an oath on the angels who execute the decree of Allah that He has commanded them to, i.e. the angels appointed to the deeds of the servants. He takes an oath on all that, that He will definitely resurrect them for accounting and requital. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अल्लाह ने उन फ़रिश्तों की क़सम खाई है, जो अल्लाह के उस फ़ैसले को क्रियान्वित करते हैं, जिसका उसने उन्हें आदेश दिया है, जैसे वे फ़रिश्ते जो बंदों के कार्यों को लिखने पर नियुक्त हैं। अल्लाह ने इन सब की क़सम खाई है कि वह निश्चय लोगों को हिसाब और बदले के लिए ज़रूर पुनर्जीवित करके उठाएगा। |

| عَرَبِي | يَومَ تَرجُفُ الرّاجِفَةُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Yawma tarjufu alrrajifatu |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Yawma tarjufur raajifa |
| English (Pickthall) | On the day when the first trump resoundeth. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | On the day when the earth will tremble upon the first blowing of the horn. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | जिस दिन हिला डालेगी हिला डालनेवाले घटना, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | फिर (दुनिया के) इन्तज़ाम करते हैं (उनकी क़सम) कि क़यामत हो कर रहेगी |

| عَرَبِي | تَتبَعُهَا الرّادِفَةُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | TatbaAAuha alrradifatu |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Tatba'u har raadifa |
| English (Pickthall) | And the second followeth it, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | There will follow it the subsequent [one]. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | The second blow will follow it. |

| عَرَبِي | قُلوبٌ يَومَئِذٍ واجِفَةٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Quloobun yawmaithin wajifatun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Quloobuny-yau maaiziw-waaji-fa |
| English (Pickthall) | On that day hearts beat painfully |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Hearts that Day will be in agitation; |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Hearts, that Day, will tremble, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | The hearts of some people will be fearful on that day. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | कितने ही दिल उस दिन काँप रहे होंगे, |

| عَرَبِي | أَبصارُها خاشِعَةٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Absaruha khashiAAatun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Absaa ruhaa khashi'ah |
| English (Pickthall) | While eyes are downcast |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Their eyes humbled. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | The effects of humiliation will be apparent on their faces. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | उनकी निगाहें झुकी होंगी |

| عَرَبِي | يَقولونَ أَإِنّا لَمَردودونَ فِي الحافِرَةِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Yaqooloona ainna lamardoodoona fee alhafirati |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Ya qoo loona a-inna lamar doo doona fil haafirah |
| English (Pickthall) | (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | They would say: “Will we be returned to life after we have died?” |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | वे कहते है, "क्या वास्तव में हम पहली हालत में फिर लौटाए जाएँगे? |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | कुफ्फ़ार कहते हैं कि क्या हम उलटे पाँव (ज़िन्दगी की तरफ़) फिर लौटेंगे |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | वे कहा करते थे : क्या हम मरने के बाद ज़िंदगी में लौटेंगे? |
| Ayah 11 |
| عَرَبِي | أَإِذا كُنّا عِظامًا نَخِرَةً |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Aitha kunna AAithaman nakhiratan |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Aizaa kunna 'izaa man-nakhirah |
| English (Pickthall) | Even after we are crumbled bones? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Even if we should be decayed bones? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | “When we will become decomposed, empty bones, will we be returned then?!” |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | क्या जब हम खोखली गलित हड्डियाँ हो चुके होंगे?" |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | क्या जब हम खोखल हड्डियाँ हो जाएँगे |

| Ayah 12 |
| عَرَبِي | قالوا تِلكَ إِذًا كَرَّةٌ خاسِرَةٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Qaloo tilka ithan karratun khasiratun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Qaalu tilka izan karratun khaasirah. |
| English (Pickthall) | They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | They say: “If we are returned, that return will be a loss, and the person returning will be defrauded.” |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | वे कहते है, "तब तो लौटना बड़े ही घाटे का होगा।" |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | कहते हैं कि ये लौटना तो बड़ा नुक़सान देह है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | उन्होंने कहा : यदि हम वापस लौटते हैं, तो वह वापसी बड़े घाटे वाली होगी। |
| Ayah 13 |
| عَرَبِي | فَإِنَّما هِيَ زَجرَةٌ واحِدَةٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fainnama hiya zajratun wahidatun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fa inna ma hiya zajratuw-waahida |
| English (Pickthall) | Surely it will need but one shout, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Indeed, it will be but one shout, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | The matter of the resurrection is easy. It will only be a single scream from the angel appointed to blow. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | वह तो बस एक ही झिड़की होगी, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | वह (क़यामत) तो (गोया) बस एक सख्त चीख़ होगी |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | दोबारा जीवित करने का मामला बड़ा आसान है। वह तो केवल सूर फूँकने पर नियुक्त फ़रिश्ते की एक तेज़ आवाज़ होगी। |
| Ayah 14 |
| عَرَبِي | فَإِذا هُم بِالسّاهِرَةِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faitha hum bialssahirati |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Faizaa hum biss saahirah |
| English (Pickthall) | And lo! they will be awakened. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Then suddenly, everyone will be alive on the face of the earth, after they were dead within it. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | फिर क्या देखेंगे कि वे एक समतल मैदान में उपस्थित है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और लोग शक़ बारगी एक मैदान (हश्र) में मौजूद होंगे |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | फिर अचानक सभी लोग धरती के ऊपर जीवित होंगे। जबकि पहले वे धरती के भीतर मृत अवस्था में थे। |

| عَرَبِي | هَل أَتاكَ حَديثُ موسىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Hal ataka hadeethu moosa |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Hal ataaka hadeethu Musaa |
| English (Pickthall) | Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Has the story of Moses reached thee? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Has there reached you the story of Moses? - |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O Messenger! Has the news of Moses, his Lord and enemy, Pharaoh, come to you? |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | क्या तुम्हें मूसा की ख़बर पहुँची है? |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | (ऐ रसूल) क्या तुम्हारे पास मूसा का किस्सा भी पहुँचा है |

| عَرَبِي | إِذ ناداهُ رَبُّهُ بِالوادِ المُقَدَّسِ طُوًى |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Ith nadahu rabbuhu bialwadi almuqaddasi tuwan |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Iz nadaahu rabbuhu bil waadil-muqad dasi tuwa |
| English (Pickthall) | How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | When his Lord may He be glorified called out to him at the blessed valley of Tuwa. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | जबकि उसके रब ने पवित्र घाटी 'तुवा' में उसे पुकारा था |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | जब उनको परवरदिगार ने तूवा के मैदान में पुकारा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | जब उनके पालनहार ने उन्हें 'तुवा' की पवित्र घाटी में पुकारा। |
| Ayah 17 |
| عَرَبِي | اذهَب إِلىٰ فِرعَونَ إِنَّهُ طَغىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Ithhab ila firAAawna innahu tagha |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Izhab ilaa fir'auna innahu taghaa. |
| English (Pickthall) | (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Among the things He said to him was: “Go to Pharaoh; indeed, he has trespassed the limits of oppression and arrogance.” |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | कि "फ़िरऔन के पास जाओ, उसने बहुत सिर उठा रखा है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | कि फिरऔन के पास जाओ वह सरकश हो गया है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अल्लाह ने उनसे जो कुछ कहा, उसमें यह भी था : फ़िरऔन के पास जाओ। उसने अत्याचार और अहंकार की हद पार कर दी है। |
| Ayah 18 |
| عَرَبِي | فَقُل هَل لَكَ إِلىٰ أَن تَزَكّىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faqul hal laka ila an tazakka |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Faqul hal laka ilaa-an tazakka. |
| English (Pickthall) | And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | “Then say to him: “O Pharaoh! Do you want to purify yourself from disbelief and sins?” |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | "और कहो, क्या तू यह चाहता है कि स्वयं को पाक-साफ़ कर ले, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | (और उससे) कहो कि क्या तेरी ख्वाहिश है कि (कुफ्र से) पाक हो जाए |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | फिर उससे कहो : (ऐ फ़िरऔन) क्या तू कुफ़्र और पापों से पवित्र होना चाहता है? |
| Ayah 19 |
| عَرَبِي | وَأَهدِيَكَ إِلىٰ رَبِّكَ فَتَخشىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waahdiyaka ila rabbika fatakhsha |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa ahdi yaka ila rabbika fatakh sha |
| English (Pickthall) | Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | “I will guide you to your Lord who has created you and provided for you so that you can fear Him and act according to His pleasure, together with refraining from things that cause His wrath.” |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | "और मैं तेरे रब की ओर तेरा मार्गदर्शन करूँ कि तु (उससे) डरे?" |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और मैं तुझे तेरे परवरदिगार की राह बता दूँ तो तुझको ख़ौफ (पैदा) हो |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और मैं तेरे उस पालनहार की ओर तेरा मार्गदर्शन करूँ, जिसने तुझे पैदा किया और तेरी देखभाल की, तो तू उससे डरने लगे। चुनाँचे तू ऐसे कार्य करने लगे, जो उसे प्रसन्न करते हैं और ऐसे कार्यों से बचे, जो उसे क्रोधित करते हैं? |
| Ayah 20 |
| عَرَبِي | فَأَراهُ الآيَةَ الكُبرىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faarahu alayata alkubra |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fa araahul-aayatal kubra. |
| English (Pickthall) | And he showed him the tremendous token. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And he showed him the greatest sign, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Moses (peace be upon him) then showed him the great miracle that proved he was a Messenger from his Lord, i.e. the Hand and the Staff. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | फिर उसने (मूसा ने) उसको बड़ी निशानी दिखाई, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | ग़रज़ मूसा ने उसे (असा का बड़ा) मौजिज़ा दिखाया |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | फिर मूसा अलैहिस्सलाम ने उसे इस बात की बड़ी निशानी दिखाई कि वे अपने पालनहार के रसूल हैं। इस निशानी से अभिप्राय हाथ और छड़ी है। |
| Ayah 21 |
| عَرَبِي | فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fakaththaba waAAasa |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fa kazzaba wa asaa. |
| English (Pickthall) | But he denied and disobeyed, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Pharaoh did not do anything except reject these signs, and disobeyed the instruction Moses (peace be upon him) gave to him. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | किन्तु उसने झुठला दिया और कहा न माना, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो उसने झुठला दिया और न माना |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तो फ़िरऔन ने इस निशानी को झुठला दिया और मूसा अलैहिस्सलाम ने उसे जो आदेश दिया था, उसकी अवहेलना की। |
| Ayah 22 |
| عَرَبِي | ثُمَّ أَدبَرَ يَسعىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Thumma adbara yasAAa |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Thumma adbara yas'aa. |
| English (Pickthall) | Then turned he away in haste, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Then he turned his back, striving. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | He then turned away from bringing faith in what Moses had brought. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | फिर सक्रियता दिखाते हुए पलटा, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | फिर पीठ फेर कर (ख़िलाफ़ की) तदबीर करने लगा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | फिर वह मूसा अलैहिस्सलाम के लाए हुए धर्म पर ईमान लाने से मुँह फेर लिया अल्लाह की अवज्ञा करने और सत्य का विरोध करने में परिश्रम करते हुए। |
| Ayah 23 |
| عَرَبِي | فَحَشَرَ فَنادىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fahashara fanada |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fa hashara fanada. |
| English (Pickthall) | Then gathered he and summoned |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And he gathered [his people] and called out |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And turned his attention to mobilising his armies to overpower Moses. He called out to his people, saying: |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | फिर (लोगों को) एकत्र किया और पुकारकर कहा, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | फिर (लोगों को) जमा किया और बुलन्द आवाज़ से चिल्लाया |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | फिर वह मूसा अलैहिस्सलाम को पराजित करने के लिए अपनी जाति के लोगों और अपने अनुयायियों को इकट्ठा किया, चुनाँचे उसने पुकार कर कहा : |
| Ayah 24 |
| عَرَبِي | فَقالَ أَنا رَبُّكُمُ الأَعلىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faqala ana rabbukumu alaAAla |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | मैं तुम्हारा सबसे ऊँचा पालनहार हूँ। इसलिए तुम पर मेरे अलावा किसी दूसरे की आज्ञाकारिता नहीं है। |
| Ayah 25 |
| عَرَبِي | فَأَخَذَهُ اللَّهُ نَكالَ الآخِرَةِ وَالأولىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faakhathahu Allahu nakala alakhirati waaloola |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fa-akha zahul laahu nakalal aakhirati wal-oola. |
| English (Pickthall) | So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | So Allah seized him and punished him in the world by drowning him in the sea, and He will punish him in the afterlife by entering him into the severest punishment. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अन्ततः अल्लाह ने उसे आख़िरत और दुनिया की शिक्षाप्रद यातना में पकड़ लिया |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो ख़ुदा ने उसे दुनिया और आख़ेरत (दोनों) के अज़ाब में गिरफ्तार किया |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तो अल्लाह ने उसे पकड़ लिया, चुनाँचे उसे इस दुनिया में समुद्र में डूबने के सज़ा दी और आख़िरत में उसे सबसे गंभीर यातना में डालकर दंडित करेगा। |
| Ayah 26 |
| عَرَبِي | إِنَّ في ذٰلِكَ لَعِبرَةً لِمَن يَخشىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Inna fee thalika laAAibratan liman yakhsha |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Inna fee zaalika la'ibratal limaiy-yaksha |
| English (Pickthall) | Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Indeed, in My punishing of Pharaoh in the world and the afterlife, there is admonition for the one who fears Allah, because it is he who benefits from the admonitions. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | निस्संदेह इसमें उस व्यक्ति के लिए बड़ी शिक्षा है जो डरे! |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | बेशक जो शख़्श (ख़ुदा से) डरे उसके लिए इस (किस्से) में इबरत है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | हमने फ़िरऔन को दुनिया और आख़िरत में जिस रूप में दंडित किया, उसमें अल्लाह से डरने वाले के लिए एक उपदेश है; क्योंकि वही उपदेशों से लाभान्वित होता है। |

| عَرَبِي | أَأَنتُم أَشَدُّ خَلقًا أَمِ السَّماءُ ۚ بَناها |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Aantum ashaddu khalqan ami alssamao banaha |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | A-antum a shaddu khalqan amis samaa-u banaaha. |
| English (Pickthall) | Are ye the harder to create, or is the heaven that He built? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | What! Are ye the more difficult to create or the heaven (above)? (Allah) hath constructed it: |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Are you a more difficult creation or is the heaven? Allah constructed it. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O rejectors of the resurrection! Is your origination, or the origination of the heavens that He has created, harder for Allah? |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | क्या तुम्हें पैदा करना अधिक कठिन कार्य है या आकाश को? अल्लाह ने उसे बनाया, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | भला तुम्हारा पैदा करना ज्यादा मुश्किल है या आसमान का |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | (ऐ मरणोपरांत पुनर्जीवन का इनकार करने वालो) क्या अल्लाह के लिए तुम्हें पैदा करना अधिक कठिन है या आकाश को पैदा करना, जिसे उसने बनाया है?! |

| عَرَبِي | رَفَعَ سَمكَها فَسَوّاها |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | RafaAAa samkaha fasawwaha |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Raf'a sam kaha fasaw waaha |
| English (Pickthall) | He raised the height thereof and ordered it; |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | On high hath He raised its canopy, and He hath given it order and perfection. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | He raised its ceiling and proportioned it. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | He raised the peak of the heaven vertically, and made it smooth: there is no break, crack or defect in it. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | उसकी ऊँचाई को ख़ूब ऊँचा करके उसे ठीक-ठाक किया; |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | कि उसी ने उसको बनाया उसकी छत को ख़ूब ऊँचा रखा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | उसने उसके रूप को ऊपर की ओर ऊँचा बनाया और उसे सपाट बना दिया, जिसमें कोई छेद, या दरार, या दोष नहीं है। |
| Ayah 29 |
| عَرَبِي | وَأَغطَشَ لَيلَها وَأَخرَجَ ضُحاها |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waaghtasha laylaha waakhraja duhaha |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa aghtasha lailaha wa akhraja duhaaha. |
| English (Pickthall) | And He made dark the night thereof, and He brought forth the morn thereof. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Its night doth He endow with darkness, and its splendour doth He bring out (with light). |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And He darkened its night and extracted its brightness. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And He darkened its night when the sun set, while manifesting its light when it rose. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और उसकी रात को अन्धकारमय बनाया और उसका दिवस-प्रकाश प्रकट किया |

| Ayah 30 |
| عَرَبِي | وَالأَرضَ بَعدَ ذٰلِكَ دَحاها |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waalarda baAAda thalika dahaha |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wal arda b'ada zaalika dahaaha. |
| English (Pickthall) | And after that He spread the earth, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And the earth, moreover, hath He extended (to a wide expanse); |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And after that He spread the earth. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | As for the earth after He created the heavens, He spread it out and placed within it its benefits. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और धरती को देखो! इसके पश्चात उसे फैलाया; |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और उसके बाद ज़मीन को फैलाया |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और आकाश को पैदा करने के बाद धरती को बिछा दिया और उसमें उसके फ़ायदे की चीज़ें रख दीं। |
| Ayah 31 |
| عَرَبِي | أَخرَجَ مِنها ماءَها وَمَرعاها |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Akhraja minha maaha wamarAAaha |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Akhraja minha maa-aha wa mar 'aaha. |
| English (Pickthall) | And produced therefrom the water thereof and the pasture thereof, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | He draweth out therefrom its moisture and its pasture; |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | He extracted from it its water and its pasture, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | He extracted water from it in the form of flowing springs, and made plants grow on it which the livestock graze. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | उसमें से उसका पानी और उसका चारा निकाला |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | उसी में से उसका पानी और उसका चारा निकाला |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | उससे बहते (जल) स्रोतों के रूप में उसका पानी निकाला और उसमें ऐसे पौधे उगाए, जो जानवर चरते हैं। |
| Ayah 32 |
| عَرَبِي | وَالجِبالَ أَرساها |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waaljibala arsaha |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wal jibala arsaaha. |
| English (Pickthall) | And He made fast the hills, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And the mountains hath He firmly fixed;- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And the mountains He set firmly |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And He made the mountains stand firm on the earth. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और पहाड़ो को देखो! उन्हें उस (धरती) में जमा दिया, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और पहाड़ों को उसमें गाड़ दिया |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और पर्वतों को धरती पर मज़बूती से स्थिर कर दिया। |
| Ayah 33 |
| عَرَبِي | مَتاعًا لَكُم وَلِأَنعامِكُم |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | MataAAan lakum walianAAamikum |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Mataa'al lakum wali an 'aamikum. |
| English (Pickthall) | A provision for you and for your cattle. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | For use and convenience to you and your cattle. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | As provision for you and your grazing livestock. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O people! All that is for your benefit, and for the benefit of your livestock. So whoever created all that, is not incapable of recreating you anew. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | तुम्हारे लिए और तुम्हारे मवेशियों के लिए जीवन-सामग्री के रूप में |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | (ये सब सामान) तुम्हारे और तुम्हारे चारपायो के फ़ायदे के लिए है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | यह सब (ऐ लोगो) तुम्हारे लिए और तुम्हारे मवेशियों के लिए लाभदायक चीज़ें हैं। अतः जिसने यह सब पैदा किया, वह उन्हें नए सिरे से पैदा करने में अक्षम नहीं है। |
| Ayah 34 |
| عَرَبِي | فَإِذا جاءَتِ الطّامَّةُ الكُبرىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faitha jaati alttammatu alkubra |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fa-izaa jaaa'atit taaam matul kubraa. |
| English (Pickthall) | But when the great disaster cometh, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Therefore, when there comes the great, overwhelming (Event),- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | But when there comes the greatest Overwhelming Calamity - |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | So when the second blowing will come, which will cover everything with its terror, and the judgement will occur. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | फिर जब वह महाविपदा आएगी, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो जब बड़ी सख्त मुसीबत (क़यामत) आ मौजूद होगी |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | फिर जब सूर में दूसरी बार फूँक मारी जाएगी, जिसकी भयावहता हर चीज़ को घेर लेगी और क़ियामत शुरू हो जाएगी। |
| Ayah 35 |
| عَرَبِي | يَومَ يَتَذَكَّرُ الإِنسانُ ما سَعىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Yawma yatathakkaru alinsanu ma saAAa |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Yauma Yata zakkarul insaanu ma sa'aa. |
| English (Pickthall) | The day when man will call to mind his (whole) endeavour, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | The Day when man shall remember (all) that he strove for, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | The Day when man will remember that for which he strove, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | On the day when it will come, the human will remember what deeds he sent forth: whether good or bad. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | उस दिन मनुष्य जो कुछ भी उसने प्रयास किया होगा उसे याद करेगा |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | जिस दिन इन्सान अपने कामों को कुछ याद करेगा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | जिस दिन क़ियामत आ जाएगी, इनसान अपने किए हुए काम को याद करेगा, चाहे वह अच्छा हो या बुरा। |
| Ayah 36 |
| عَرَبِي | وَبُرِّزَتِ الجَحيمُ لِمَن يَرىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waburrizati aljaheemu liman yara |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa burrizatil-jaheemu limany-yaraa. |
| English (Pickthall) | And hell will stand forth visible to him who seeth, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And Hell-Fire shall be placed in full view for (all) to see,- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And Hellfire will be exposed for [all] those who see - |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And hell will be brought and unveiled clearly for all to see. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और भड़कती आग (जहन्नम) देखने वालों के लिए खोल दी जाएगी |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और जहन्नुम देखने वालों के सामने ज़ाहिर कर दी जाएगी |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और जहन्नम को लाया जाएगा और उसे देखने वालों के लिए आँखों के सामने प्रकट कर दिया जाएगा। |
| Ayah 37 |
| عَرَبِي | فَأَمّا مَن طَغىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faamma man tagha |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fa ammaa man taghaa. |
| English (Pickthall) | Then, as for him who rebelled |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Then, for such as had transgressed all bounds, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | So as for he who transgressed |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | As for the one who transgressed the limits into deviance. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | तो जिस किसी ने सरकशी की |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो जिसने (दुनिया में) सर उठाया था |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तो जो व्यक्ति गुमराही में हद को पार कर गया। |
| Ayah 38 |
| عَرَبِي | وَآثَرَ الحَياةَ الدُّنيا |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waathara alhayata alddunya |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa aasaral hayaatad dunyaa |
| English (Pickthall) | And chose the life of the world, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And had preferred the life of this world, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And preferred the life of the world, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And gave priority to the temporary worldly life over the everlasting afterlife. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और सांसारिक जीवन को प्राथमिकता दो होगी, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और दुनियावी ज़िन्दगी को तरजीह दी थी |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तथा उसने दुनिया के नश्वर जीवन को आख़िरत के बाकी रहने वाले जीवन पर प्राथमिकता दी। |
| Ayah 39 |
| عَرَبِي | فَإِنَّ الجَحيمَ هِيَ المَأوىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fainna aljaheema hiya almawa |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fa innal jaheema hiyal maawaa. |
| English (Pickthall) | Lo! hell will be his home. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | The Abode will be Hell-Fire; |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Then indeed, Hellfire will be [his] refuge. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Then indeed, the hellfire is his abode he will take shelter towards. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | तो निस्संदेह भड़कती आग ही उसका ठिकाना है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | उसका ठिकाना तो यक़ीनन दोज़ख़ है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तो जहन्नम ही उसका ठिकाना है, जहाँ वह शरण लेगा। |
| Ayah 40 |
| عَرَبِي | وَأَمّا مَن خافَ مَقامَ رَبِّهِ وَنَهَى النَّفسَ عَنِ الهَوىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waama man khafa maqama rabbihi wanaha alnnafsa AAani alhawa |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa ammaa man khaafa maqaama Rabbihee wa nahan nafsa 'anil hawaa |
| English (Pickthall) | But as for him who feared to stand before his Lord and restrained his soul from lust, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And for such as had entertained the fear of standing before their Lord's (tribunal) and had restrained (their) soul from lower desires, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | But as for he who feared the position of his Lord and prevented the soul from [unlawful] inclination, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | & 41. And as for the one who feared his standing before his Lord and stopped himself from following his desires that were made impermissible by Allah, then Paradise is his abode he will take shelter towards. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और रहा वह व्यक्ति जिसने अपने रब के सामने खड़े होने का भय रखा और अपने जी को बुरी इच्छा से रोका, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | मगर जो शख़्श अपने परवरदिगार के सामने खड़े होने से डरता और जी को नाजायज़ ख्वाहिशों से रोकता रहा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | परंतु जो व्यक्ति अपने पालनहार के सामने खड़ा होने से डर गया और अपने नफ़्स को अल्लाह की हराम की हुई चीज़ का पालन करने से रोक लिया, जिसकी उसका नफ़्स इच्छा करता है, तो जन्नत ही उसका ठिकाना है, जहाँ वह निवास ग्रहण करेगा। |
| Ayah 41 |
| عَرَبِي | فَإِنَّ الجَنَّةَ هِيَ المَأوىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fainna aljannata hiya almawa |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fa innal jannata hiyal maawaa |
| English (Pickthall) | Lo! the Garden will be his home. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Their abode will be the Garden. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Then indeed, Paradise will be [his] refuge. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | & 41. And as for the one who feared his standing before his Lord and stopped himself from following his desires that were made impermissible by Allah, then Paradise is his abode he will take shelter towards. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | तो जन्नत ही उसका ठिकाना है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो उसका ठिकाना यक़ीनन बेहश्त है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | परंतु जो व्यक्ति अपने पालनहार के सामने खड़ा होने से डर गया और अपने नफ़्स को अल्लाह की हराम की हुई चीज़ का पालन करने से रोक लिया, जिसकी उसका नफ़्स इच्छा करता है, तो जन्नत ही उसका ठिकाना है, जहाँ वह निवास ग्रहण करेगा। |

| عَرَبِي | يَسأَلونَكَ عَنِ السّاعَةِ أَيّانَ مُرساها |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Yasaloonaka AAani alssaAAati ayyana mursaha |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Yas'aloonaka 'anis saa'ati ayyaana mursaahaa |
| English (Pickthall) | They ask thee of the Hour: when will it come to port? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | They ask thee about the Hour,-'When will be its appointed time? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the Hour: when is its arrival? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O Messenger! These rejectors of the resurrection ask you: “When will the Hour occur?” |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | वे तुमसे उस घड़ी के विषय में पूछते है कि वह कब आकर ठहरेगी? |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | (ऐ रसूल) लोग तुम से क़यामत के बारे में पूछते हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | (ऐ रसूल) ये मरणोपरांत पुनः जीवित होने को झुठलाने वाले लोग आपसे पूछते हैं कि क़ियामत कब आएगी? |
| Ayah 43 |
| عَرَبِي | فيمَ أَنتَ مِن ذِكراها |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Feema anta min thikraha |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Feema anta min zikraahaa |
| English (Pickthall) | Why (ask they)? What hast thou to tell thereof? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Wherein art thou (concerned) with the declaration thereof? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | In what [position] are you that you should mention it? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | You do not have any knowledge regarding it that you can mention to them; nor is it befitting of your duty to, because your duty is only to prepare for it. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | उसके बयान करने से तुम्हारा क्या सम्बन्ध? |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | कि उसका कहीं थल बेड़ा भी है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | आपको इसकी जानकारी नहीं है कि उन्हें बता सकें, और यह आपका काम नहीं है। आपका काम तो उसके लिए तैयारी करना है। |
| Ayah 44 |
| عَرَبِي | إِلىٰ رَبِّكَ مُنتَهاها |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Ila rabbika muntahaha |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Ilaa Rabbika muntahaa haa |
| English (Pickthall) | Unto thy Lord belongeth (knowledge of) the term thereof. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | With thy Lord in the Limit fixed therefor. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | To your Lord is its finality. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | The total knowledge of the Hour is with your Lord alone. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | उसकी अन्तिम पहुँच तो तेरे से ही सम्बन्ध रखती है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो तुम उसके ज़िक्र से किस फ़िक्र में हो |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | क़ियामत के ज्ञान की अंतिमता केवल तुम्हारे पालनहार की ओर है। |
| Ayah 45 |
| عَرَبِي | إِنَّما أَنتَ مُنذِرُ مَن يَخشاها |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Innama anta munthiru man yakhshaha |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Innamaaa anta munziru maiy yakshaahaa |
| English (Pickthall) | Thou art but a warner unto him who feareth it. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Thou art but a Warner for such as fear it. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | You are only a warner for those who fear it. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | You are only a warner to the one who fears the Hour, because he is the one who benefits from your warning. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | तुम तो बस उस व्यक्ति को सावधान करनेवाले हो जो उससे डरे |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | उस (के इल्म) की इन्तेहा तुम्हारे परवरदिगार ही तक है तो तुम बस जो उससे डरे उसको डराने वाले हो |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | आप तो केवल उस व्यक्ति को डराने वाले हैं, जो क़ियामत से डरता है; क्योंकि वही है जो आपके डराने से लाभान्वित होता है। |
| Ayah 46 |
