| عَرَبِي | عَبَسَ وَتَوَلّىٰ |

| English (Yusuf Ali) | (The Prophet) frowned and turned away, |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | रसूल सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि व सल्लम के माथे पर बल पड़ गया और आपने मुँह फेर लिया। |
| Ayah 2 |
| عَرَبِي | أَن جاءَهُ الأَعمىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | An jaahu alaAAma |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | An jaa-ahul 'a-maa |
| English (Pickthall) | Because the blind man came unto him. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting]. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Because of the arrival of ‘Abdullah ibn Umm Maktūm who came asking for guidance. He was blind, and had come when the Messenger (peace be upon him) was busy with the seniors of the idolaters, hoping they would be guided. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | इस कारण कि उसके पास अन्धा आ गया। |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और मुँह फेर बैठा कि उसके पास नाबीना आ गया |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अब्दुल्लाह बिन उम्मे मकतूम के आगमन के कारण, जो आपसे मार्गदर्शन प्राप्त करना चाहते थे और वह एक अंधे व्यक्ति थे। जब वह आए, तो उस समय रसूल सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि व सल्लम मुश्रिकों के प्रमुख लोगों के साथ, उनके मार्गदर्शन स्वीकारने की उम्मीद में, व्यस्त थे। |
| Ayah 3 |
| عَرَبِي | وَما يُدريكَ لَعَلَّهُ يَزَّكّىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wama yudreeka laAAallahu yazzakka |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa maa yudreeka la'allahu yaz zakkaa. |
| English (Pickthall) | What could inform thee but that he might grow (in grace) |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)?- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | But what would make you perceive, [O Muhammad], that perhaps he might be purified |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O Messenger! What do you know, maybe this blind man may be purified of his sins? |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और तुझे क्या मालूम शायद वह स्वयं को सँवारता-निखारता हो |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और तुमको क्या मालूम यायद वह (तालीम से) पाकीज़गी हासिल करता |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और (ऐ रसूल) आपको क्या पता कि शायद यह अंधा आदमी अपने गुनाहों से पवित्र हो जाए?! |
| Ayah 4 |
| عَرَبِي | أَو يَذَّكَّرُ فَتَنفَعَهُ الذِّكرىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Aw yaththakkaru fatanfaAAahu alththikra |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Au yaz zak karu fatanfa 'ahuz zikraa. |
| English (Pickthall) | Or take heed and so the reminder might avail him? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Or that he might receive admonition, and the teaching might profit him? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Or that he may take heed of the advices he hears from you and benefit from them? |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | या नसीहत हासिल करता हो तो नसीहत उसके लिए लाभदायक हो? |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | या वह नसीहत सुनता तो नसीहत उसके काम आती |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | या वह आपसे सुनने वाले उपदेशों से सीख ग्रहण करे, तो उनसे लाभान्वित हो। |
| Ayah 5 |
| عَرَبِي | أَمّا مَنِ استَغنىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Amma mani istaghna |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Amma manis taghnaa |
| English (Pickthall) | As for him who thinketh himself independent, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | As to one who regards Himself as self-sufficient, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | As for he who thinks himself without need, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | As for those who feel they have no need to bring faith in what you have brought, due to the wealth they possess. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | रहा वह व्यक्ति जो धनी हो गया ह |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो जो कुछ परवाह नहीं करता |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | परंतु जो अपने धन की वजह से आपके लाए हुए धर्म पर ईमान लाने से बेपरवाह हो गया। |
| Ayah 6 |
| عَرَبِي | فَأَنتَ لَهُ تَصَدّىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faanta lahu tasadda |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fa-anta lahu tasaddaa |
| English (Pickthall) | Unto him thou payest regard. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | To him dost thou attend; |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | To him you give attention. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | You persevere behind them and are attentive to them. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | तू उसके पीछे पड़ा है - |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | उसके तो तुम दरपै हो जाते हो हालॉकि अगर वह न सुधरे |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तो आप उसके पीछे पड़ रहे हैं और उसपर ध्यान दे रहे हैं। |
| Ayah 7 |
| عَرَبِي | وَما عَلَيكَ أَلّا يَزَّكّىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wama AAalayka alla yazzakka |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa ma 'alaika allaa yaz zakka. |
| English (Pickthall) | Yet it is not thy concern if he grow not (in grace). |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Though it is no blame to thee if he grow not (in spiritual understanding). |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And not upon you [is any blame] if he will not be purified. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | What blame will there be on you if he is not purified of his sins by not repenting to Allah? |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | हालाँकि वह अपने को न निखारे तो तुझपर कोई ज़िम्मेदारी नहीं आती - |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो तुम ज़िम्मेदार नहीं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | हालाँकि अगर वह अल्लाह से तौबा करके अपने गुनाहों से पाक-साफ़ नहीं होता है, तो आपपर कोई दोष नहीं है। |
| Ayah 8 |
| عَرَبِي | وَأَمّا مَن جاءَكَ يَسعىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waamma man jaaka yasAAa |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa amma man jaa-aka yas'a |
| English (Pickthall) | But as for him who cometh unto thee with earnest purpose |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | But as to him who came to thee striving earnestly, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | But as for he who came to you striving [for knowledge] |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | As for the one who comes to you running, searching for goodness. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और रहा वह व्यक्ति जो स्वयं ही तेरे पास दौड़ता हुआ आया, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और जो तुम्हारे पास लपकता हुआ आता है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | परंतु जो व्यक्ति भलाई की तलाश में आपके पास दौड़ता हुआ आया। |
| Ayah 9 |
| عَرَبِي | وَهُوَ يَخشىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wahuwa yakhsha |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wahuwa yakhshaa, |
| English (Pickthall) | And hath fear, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And with fear (in his heart), |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | While he fears [Allah], |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And he fears his Lord. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और वह डरता भी है, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और (ख़ुदा से) डरता है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और वह अपने पालनहार से डरता है। |
| Ayah 10 |
| عَرَبِي | فَأَنتَ عَنهُ تَلَهّىٰ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faanta AAanhu talahha |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fa-anta 'anhu talah haa. |
| English (Pickthall) | From him thou art distracted. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Of him wast thou unmindful. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | From him you are distracted. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | You are preoccupied from him with others i.e. the senior idolaters. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | तो तू उससे बेपरवाई करता है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो तुम उससे बेरूख़ी करते हो |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तो आप उससे बेपरवाह होकर मुश्रिकों के प्रमुख लोगों के साथ व्यस्त हो जाते हैं। |
| Ayah 11 |
| عَرَبِي | كَلّا إِنَّها تَذكِرَةٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Kalla innaha tathkiratun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Kalla innaha tazkirah |
| English (Pickthall) | Nay, but verily it is an Admonishment, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | By no means (should it be so)! For it is indeed a Message of instruction: |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | No! Indeed, these verses are a reminder; |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | It should not be like that; it is only admonition and a reminder for those who pay attention. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | कदापि नहीं, वे (आयतें) तो महत्वपूर्ण नसीहत है - |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | देखो ये (क़ुरान) तो सरासर नसीहत है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | यह मामला ऐसी नहीं है, यह तो स्वीकार करने वाले के लिए एक उपदेश और चेतावनी है। |
| Ayah 12 |
| عَرَبِي | فَمَن شاءَ ذَكَرَهُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faman shaa thakarahu |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Faman shaa a zakarah |
| English (Pickthall) | So let whosoever will pay heed to it, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Therefore let whoso will, keep it in remembrance. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | So whoever wills may remember it. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | So whoever wishes to remember Allah should remember Him, and take heed of what is in this Qur’ān. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | तो जो चाहे उसे याद कर ले - |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो जो चाहे इसे याद रखे |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अतः जो अल्लाह को याद करना चाहे, उसे याद करे और इस क़ुरआन में जो कुछ है, उससे उपदेश ग्रहण करे। |
| Ayah 13 |
| عَرَبِي | في صُحُفٍ مُكَرَّمَةٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fee suhufin mukarramatin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fi suhufim mukar rama, |
| English (Pickthall) | On honoured leaves |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | (It is) in Books held (greatly) in honour, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | [It is recorded] in honored sheets, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Because this Qur’ān is in blessed scrolls, with the angels. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | पवित्र पन्नों में अंकित है, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | (लौहे महफूज़ के) बहुत मोअज़ज़िज औराक़ में (लिखा हुआ) है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | यह क़ुरआन फ़रिश्तों के पास सम्मानजनक सहीफ़ों (ग्रंथों) में है। |
| Ayah 14 |
| عَرَبِي | مَرفوعَةٍ مُطَهَّرَةٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | MarfooAAatin mutahharatin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Marfoo'atim mutah hara, |
| English (Pickthall) | Exalted, purified, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Exalted (in dignity), kept pure and holy, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Exalted and purified, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | They are raised on a high place, pure; no dirt or filth reaches them. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | प्रतिष्ठि्त, उच्च, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | बुलन्द मरतबा और पाक हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | जो एक उच्च स्थान पर बुलंद किए हुए, पवित्र किए हुए हैं, उन्हें कोई गंदगी या अशुद्धता छू नहीं सकती। |
| Ayah 15 |
| عَرَبِي | بِأَيدي سَفَرَةٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Biaydee safaratin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Bi'aidee safara |
| English (Pickthall) | (Set down) by scribes |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | (Written) by the hands of scribes- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | [Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And they are in the hands of Messengers among the angels. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | ऐसे कातिबों के हाथों में रहा करते है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | (ऐसे) लिखने वालों के हाथों में है |

| Ayah 16 |
| عَرَبِي | كِرامٍ بَرَرَةٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Kiramin bararatin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Kiraamim bararah. |
| English (Pickthall) | Noble and righteous. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Honourable and Pious and Just. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Noble and dutiful. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | They are honourable in the eyes of their Lord, frequent performers of goodness and obedience. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | जो प्रतिष्ठित और नेक है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | जो बुज़ुर्ग नेकोकार हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | जो अपने पालनहार के निकट सम्माननीय, तथा बहुत ज़्यादा भलाई और नेकियाँ करने वाले हैं। |
| Ayah 17 |
| عَرَبِي | قُتِلَ الإِنسانُ ما أَكفَرَهُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Qutila alinsanu ma akfarahu |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Qutilal-insanu maa akfarah. |
| English (Pickthall) | Man is (self-)destroyed: how ungrateful! |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Woe to man! What hath made him reject Allah; |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | The disbelieving human is cursed; how severe is his disbelief in Allah! |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | विनष्ट हुआ मनुष्य! कैसा अकृतज्ञ है! |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | इन्सान हलाक हो जाए वह क्या कैसा नाशुक्रा है |

| عَرَبِي | مِن أَيِّ شَيءٍ خَلَقَهُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Min ayyi shayin khalaqahu |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Min aiyyi shai-in Khalaq |
| English (Pickthall) | From what thing doth He create him? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | From what stuff hath He created him? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | From what substance did He create him? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | What substance did Allah create him from, that he has the right to display arrogance on earth and disbelieve in Him?! |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | उसको किस चीज़ से पैदा किया? |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | (ख़ुदा ने) उसे किस चीज़ से पैदा किया |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अल्लाह ने उसे किस चीज़ से पैदा किया है कि वह धरती पर अभिमान करता है और उसकी नाशुक्री करता है?! |
| Ayah 19 |
| عَرَبِي | مِن نُطفَةٍ خَلَقَهُ فَقَدَّرَهُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Min nutfatin khalaqahu faqaddarahu |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Min nutfatin khalaqahoo faqaddarah. |
| English (Pickthall) | From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | From a sperm-drop: He hath created him, and then mouldeth him in due proportions; |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him; |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | He created him from a small amount of fluid, and managed his creation in stages. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | तनिक-सी बूँद से उसको पैदा किया, तो उसके लिए एक अंदाजा ठहराया, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | नुत्फे से उसे पैदा किया फिर उसका अन्दाज़ा मुक़र्रर किया |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | उसने उसे थोड़े पानी (एक बूँद) से बनाया, और उसकी रचना को कई चरणों में निर्धारित किया। |
| Ayah 20 |
| عَرَبِي | ثُمَّ السَّبيلَ يَسَّرَهُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Thumma alssabeela yassarahu |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Thummas sabeela yas-sarah |
| English (Pickthall) | Then maketh the way easy for him, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Then doth He make His path smooth for him; |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Then He eased the way for him; |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Then after these stages, He made the exit from his mother’s belly easy for him. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | फिर मार्ग को देखो, उसे सुगम कर दिया, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | फिर उसका रास्ता आसान कर दिया |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | फिर, इन चरणों के बाद, उसके लिए अपनी माँ के पेट से बाहर निकलना आसान कर दिया। |
| Ayah 21 |
| عَرَبِي | ثُمَّ أَماتَهُ فَأَقبَرَهُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Thumma amatahu faaqbarahu |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Thumma amatahu fa-aqbarah |
| English (Pickthall) | Then causeth him to die, and burieth him; |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Then He causeth him to die, and putteth him in his grave; |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Then He causes his death and provides a grave for him. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Then, after spending the amount of life decreed for him, Allah caused death upon him and made a grave for him wherein he remains until he is resurrected. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | फिर उसे मृत्यु दी और क्रब में उसे रखवाया, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | फिर उसे मौत दी फिर उसे कब्र में दफ़न कराया |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | फिर, जीवन में उसके लिए जो आयु निर्धारित की थी, उसके (पूरा होने के) बाद उसे मौत दी, और उसके लिए एक क़ब्र बना दी, जिसमें वह पुनर्जीवित किए जाने तक रहेगा। |
| Ayah 22 |
| عَرَبِي | ثُمَّ إِذا شاءَ أَنشَرَهُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Thumma itha shaa ansharahu |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Thumma iza shaa-a ansharah |
| English (Pickthall) | Then, when He will, He bringeth him again to life. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Then, when it is His Will, He will raise him up (again). |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Then when He wills, He will resurrect him. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Then, when He wishes, He will resurrect him for accounting and requital. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | फिर जब चाहेगा उसे (जीवित करके) उठा खड़ा करेगा। - |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | फिर जब चाहेगा उठा खड़ा करेगा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | फिर जब वह चाहेगा, उसे हिसाब और बदले के लिए पुनः जीवित करके उठाएगा। |
| Ayah 23 |
| عَرَبِي | كَلّا لَمّا يَقضِ ما أَمَرَهُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Kalla lamma yaqdi ma amarahu |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Kalla lamma yaqdi maa amarah. |
| English (Pickthall) | Nay, but (man) hath not done what He commanded him. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | By no means hath he fulfilled what Allah hath commanded him. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | No! Man has not yet accomplished what He commanded him. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | It is not like this disbeliever imagines: that he has fulfilled the rights of Allah upon him, because he has not fulfilled the obligatory actions Allah put upon him. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | कदापि नहीं, उसने उसको पूरा नहीं किया जिसका आदेश अल्लाह ने उसे दिया है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | सच तो यह है कि ख़ुदा ने जो हुक्म उसे दिया उसने उसको पूरा न किया |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | मामला ऐसा नहीं है, जैसा कि यह काफ़िर सोचता है कि उसपर उसके रब का जो हक़ था, उसे अदा कर दिया। वास्तव में, उसने उन दायित्वों को नहीं निभाया, जो अल्लाह ने उसपर अनिवार्य किए हैं। |
| Ayah 24 |
| عَرَبِي | فَليَنظُرِ الإِنسانُ إِلىٰ طَعامِهِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Falyanthuri alinsanu ila taAAamihi |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Falyanzuril insanu ilaa ta-amih |
| English (Pickthall) | Let man consider his food: |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Then let man look at his food, (and how We provide it): |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Then let mankind look at his food - |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | So the human who disbelieves in Allah should look at the food he eats: how did he come to acquire it? |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अतः मनुष्य को चाहिए कि अपने भोजन को देखे, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो इन्सान को अपने घाटे ही तरफ ग़ौर करना चाहिए |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अतः अल्लाह के साथ कुफ़्र करने वाले व्यक्ति को चाहिए कि अपने उस भोजन को देखे, जो वह खाता है, कि वह कैसे प्राप्त होता है?! |
| Ayah 25 |
| عَرَبِي | أَنّا صَبَبنَا الماءَ صَبًّا |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Anna sababna almaa sabban |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Anna sabab nalmaa-a sabba. |
| English (Pickthall) | How We pour water in showers |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | For that We pour forth water in abundance, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | How We poured down water in torrents, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | It originates from the rain descending from the sky with force and in abundance. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | कि हमने ख़ूब पानी बरसाया, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | कि हम ही ने (बादल) से पानी बरसाया |

| عَرَبِي | ثُمَّ شَقَقنَا الأَرضَ شَقًّا |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Thumma shaqaqna alarda shaqqan |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Thumma sha qaqnal-arda shaqqa. |
| English (Pickthall) | Then split the earth in clefts |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And We split the earth in fragments, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts], |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Then, I split open the earth, so it springs forth with plants. |

| عَرَبِي | فَأَنبَتنا فيها حَبًّا |

| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fa ambatna feeha habba |
| English (Pickthall) | And cause the grain to grow therein |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And produce therein corn, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And caused to grow within it grain |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | I then make grains grow on it, i.e. wheat, corn etc. |

| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa 'inabaw-wa qadba |
| English (Pickthall) | And grapes and green fodder |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And Grapes and nutritious plants, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And grapes and herbage |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And I make fresh grapes and fodder grow on it, so it can be feed for your livestock. |

| English (Yusuf Ali) | And enclosed Gardens, dense with lofty trees, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And gardens of dense shrubbery |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | I also make abundant gardens and trees grow on it. |

| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa faki hataw-wa abba. |

| English (Yusuf Ali) | And fruits and fodder,- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And fruit and grass - |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And I make fruits grow on it, together with things your livestock graze. |

| Transliteration (Unicode) | Mata'al-lakum wa li-an'amikum. |
| English (Pickthall) | Provision for you and your cattle. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | For use and convenience to you and your cattle. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | [As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | For your benefit, and the benefit of your livestock. |

| عَرَبِي | فَإِذا جاءَتِ الصّاخَّةُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Faitha jaati alssakhkhatu |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Faiza jaa-atis saakhah. |
| English (Pickthall) | But when the Shout cometh |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | At length, when there comes the Deafening Noise,- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | But when there comes the Deafening Blast |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | So when the great shriek will come that will deafen the ears i.e. the second blowing. |

| عَرَبِي | يَومَ يَفِرُّ المَرءُ مِن أَخيهِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Yawma yafirru almaro min akheehi |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Yauma yafir-rul mar-u min akheeh |
| English (Pickthall) | On the day when a man fleeth from his brother |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | That Day shall a man flee from his own brother, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | On the Day a man will flee from his brother |

| English (Yusuf Ali) | And from his mother and his father, |

| عَرَبِي | لِكُلِّ امرِئٍ مِنهُم يَومَئِذٍ شَأنٌ يُغنيهِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Likulli imriin minhum yawmaithin shanun yughneehi |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Likul limri-im-minuhm yaumaa-izin shaa nuy-yughneeh |
| English (Pickthall) | Every man that day will have concern enough to make him heedless (of others). |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Each one of them, that Day, will have enough concern (of his own) to make him indifferent to the others. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Each one of them will be in a state where he will be preoccupied from them due to the extreme anxiety on that day. |

| عَرَبِي | وُجوهٌ يَومَئِذٍ مُسفِرَةٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wujoohun yawmaithin musfiratun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wujoo huny-yauma-izim-musfira; |
| English (Pickthall) | On that day faces will be bright as dawn, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Some faces that Day will be beaming, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | [Some] faces, that Day, will be bright - |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | The faces of the fortunate ones that day will be bright. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | कितने ही चेहरे उस दिन रौशन होंगे, |

| عَرَبِي | ضاحِكَةٌ مُستَبشِرَةٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Dahikatun mustabshiratun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Dahi katum mustab shirah |
| English (Pickthall) | Laughing, rejoicing at good news; |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Laughing, rejoicing. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Laughing, rejoicing at good news. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Laughing in happiness due to what Allah has prepared for them out of His mercy. |

| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa wujoohuy yauma-izin 'alaiha ghabar a |
| English (Pickthall) | And other faces, on that day, with dust upon them, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And other faces that Day will be dust-stained, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust. |

| Transliteration (Unicode) | Ulaa-ika humul-kafa ratul-fajarah. |
| English (Pickthall) | Those are the disbelievers, the wicked. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Such will be the Rejecters of Allah, the doers of iniquity. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Those described above in that state will be the ones who combined disbelief and transgression. |
