| عَرَبِي | إِن كُلُّ نَفسٍ لَمّا عَلَيها حافِظٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | In kullu nafsin lamma AAalayha hafithun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | In kullu nafsil lammaa 'alaihaa haafiz |
| English (Pickthall) | No human soul but hath a guardian over it. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | There is no soul but has a protector over it. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | There is no soul except that Allah has assigned to it an angel to record its deeds for the reckoning on the day of judgment. |

| عَرَبِي | فَليَنظُرِ الإِنسانُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Falyanthuri alinsanu mimma khuliqa |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fal yanzuril insaanu mimma khuliq |
| English (Pickthall) | So let man consider from what he is created. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Now let man but think from what he is created! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | So let man observe from what he was created. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | So let man reflect over what Allah created him from, so that Allah’s power and man’s inability becomes clear to him. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अतः मनुष्य को चाहिए कि देखे कि वह किस चीज़ से पैदा किया गया है |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | मनुष्य को चिंतन करना चाहिए कि अल्लाह ने उसे किस चीज़ से पैदा किया है, ताकि उसके लिए अल्लाह की शक्ति और मनुष्य की विवशता स्पष्ट हो जाए। |

| عَرَبِي | خُلِقَ مِن ماءٍ دافِقٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Khuliqa min main dafiqin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Khuliqa mim maaa'in daafiq |
| English (Pickthall) | He is created from a gushing fluid |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | He is created from a drop emitted- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | He was created from a fluid, ejected, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Allah created him from a spurting liquid that is split into the womb. |

| عَرَبِي | يَخرُجُ مِن بَينِ الصُّلبِ وَالتَّرائِبِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Yakhruju min bayni alssulbi waalttaraibi |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Yakhruju mim bainissulbi wat taraaa'ib |
| English (Pickthall) | That issued from between the loins and ribs. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | This liquid emerges from between the spinal column of a man and the bones of the chest. |

| عَرَبِي | إِنَّهُ عَلىٰ رَجعِهِ لَقادِرٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Innahu AAala rajAAihi laqadirun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Innahoo 'alaa raj'ihee laqaadir |
| English (Pickthall) | Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | He, may He be glorified - since He created him from that despised liquid - has the power to bring him back to life after death for the reckoning and recompense. |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | निश्चित रूप से वह महिमावान् (अल्लाह) - जब उसे उस तुच्छ पानी से पैदा कर दिया - उसकी मौत के बाद उसे, हिसाब और बदले के लिए, फिर से जीवित करके उठाने में सक्षम है। |

| عَرَبِي | يَومَ تُبلَى السَّرائِرُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Yawma tubla alssarairu |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Yawma tublas saraaa'ir |
| English (Pickthall) | On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | The Day when secrets will be put on trial, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | On the day when secrets will be tried and the intentions, beliefs etc. that the hearts conceal will be exposed, and the righteous will be distinguished from the corrupt. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | जिस दिन छिपी चीज़ें परखी जाएँगी, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | जिस दिन दिलों के भेद जाँचे जाएँगे |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | जिस दिन छिपी हुई बातें परखी जाएँगी। चुनाँचे दिलों के अंदर छिपे हुए इरादों और आस्थाओं, आदि को प्रत्यक्ष कर दिया जाएगा। इस तरह उनमें से अच्छा और भ्रष्ट अलग-अलग हो जाएगा। |
| Ayah 10 |
| عَرَبِي | فَما لَهُ مِن قُوَّةٍ وَلا ناصِرٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fama lahu min quwwatin wala nasirin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Famaa lahoo min quwwatinw wa laa naasir |
| English (Pickthall) | Then will he have no might nor any helper. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | (Man) will have no power, and no helper. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Then man will have no power or any helper. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | On that day man will not have any power to protect himself from Allah’s punishment, nor any helper to assist him. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | तो उस समय उसके पास न तो अपनी कोई शक्ति होगी और न कोई सहायक |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो (उस दिन) उसका न कुछ ज़ोर चलेगा और न कोई मददगार होगा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | उस दिन मनुष्य के पास कोई न तो कोई शक्ति होगी, जिसके द्वारा वह अल्लाह की यातना से बच सके, और न ही कोई सहायक होगा, जो उसकी मदद कर सके। |
| Ayah 11 |
| عَرَبِي | وَالسَّماءِ ذاتِ الرَّجعِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waalssamai thati alrrajAAi |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wassamaaa'i zaatir raj' |
| English (Pickthall) | By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | By the Firmament which returns (in its round), |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | By the sky which returns [rain] |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Allah took an oath by the sky that contains rain, because it comes down from its direction time after time. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | साक्षी है आवर्तन (उलट-फेर) वाला आकाश, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | चक्कर (खाने) वाले आसमान की क़सम |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अल्लाह ने बारिश वाले आसमान की क़सम खाई है। क्योंकि यह (बारिश) आसमान ही की ओर से बार-बार बरसती है। |
| Ayah 12 |
| عَرَبِي | وَالأَرضِ ذاتِ الصَّدعِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waalardi thati alssadAAi |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wal ardi zaatis sad' |
| English (Pickthall) | And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And [by] the earth which cracks open, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | He took an oath by the earth that cracks open to reveal the plants, fruit and trees in it. |

| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और फटने वाली (ज़मीन की क़सम) |

| عَرَبِي | إِنَّهُ لَقَولٌ فَصلٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Innahu laqawlun faslun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Innahoo laqawlun fasl |
| English (Pickthall) | Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | This Qur’ān that is revealed to Muhammad (peace be upon him) is a word that separates truth from falsehood, and fact from lie. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | वह दो-टूक बात है, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | बेशक ये क़ुरान क़ौले फ़ैसल है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | निश्चय मुहम्मद सल्लल्लाहु अलैहि व सल्लम पर उतरने वाला यह क़ुरआन, एक ऐसा कथन है, जो सत्य और असत्य के बीच, तथा सच और झूठ के बीच अलगाव (अंतर) करता है। |

| عَرَبِي | وَما هُوَ بِالهَزلِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wama huwa bialhazli |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa maa huwa bil hazl |
| English (Pickthall) | It is no pleasantry. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | It is not a thing for amusement. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And it is not amusement. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | It is not a game and falsehood, but it is serious and the truth. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | वह कोई हँसी-मज़ाक नही है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और लग़ो नहीं है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | यह खेल और झूठ नहीं है, बल्कि यह गंभीर और सच है। |
| Ayah 15 |
| عَرَبِي | إِنَّهُم يَكيدونَ كَيدًا |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Innahum yakeedoona kaydan |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Innahum yakeedoona kaidaa |
| English (Pickthall) | Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Indeed, they are planning a plan, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Those who deny what their messenger brought to them plot and scheme to reject and refute his call. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | वे एक चाल चल रहे है, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | बेशक ये कुफ्फ़ार अपनी तदबीर कर रहे हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | निश्चित रूप से जो लोग उस चीज़ को झुठलाने वाले हैं, जो उनके रसूल उनके पास लेकर आए हैं, वे उनके मिशन को रोकने के लिए बहुत चालें चलते हैं। |
| Ayah 16 |
| عَرَبِي | وَأَكيدُ كَيدًا |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waakeedu kaydan |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa akeedu kaidaa |
| English (Pickthall) | And I plot a plot (against them). |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And I am planning a scheme. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | But I am planning a plan. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | I too plot and scheme to make the religion victorious and to disprove falsehood. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और मैं भी एक चाल चल रहा हूँ |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और मैं अपनी तद्बीर कर रहा हूँ |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और मैं भी धर्म को शक्ति प्रदान करने और असत्य का सफ़ाया करने के लिए गुप्त उपाय करता हूँ। |
| Ayah 17 |
| عَرَبِي | فَمَهِّلِ الكافِرينَ أَمهِلهُم رُوَيدًا |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Famahhili alkafireena amhilhum ruwaydan |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Famahhilil kaafireena amhilhum ruwaidaa |
| English (Pickthall) | So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | So give respite, O Messenger, to these disbelievers. Give them respite for a short while, and do not seek to hasten their punishment and destruction. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अत मुहलत दे दो उन इनकार करनेवालों को; मुहलत दे दो उन्हें थोड़ी-सी |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो काफ़िरों को मोहलत दो बस उनको थोड़ी सी मोहलत दो |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अतः (ऐ रसूल!) आप इन काफ़िरों को मोहलत दे दें, उन्हें थोड़ी देर के लिए छोड़ दें, और उन्हें यातना देने और विनष्ट करने के लिए जल्दी न करें। |
