| عَرَبِي | لا أُقسِمُ بِهٰذَا البَلَدِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | La oqsimu bihatha albaladi |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Laaa uqsimu bihaazal balad |
| English (Pickthall) | Nay, I swear by this city - |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | I do call to witness this City;- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | I swear by this city, Makkah - |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Allah takes an oath on the sacred city i.e. Makkah Al-Mukarramah |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | सुनो! मैं क़सम खाता हूँ इस नगर (मक्का) की - |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | मुझे इस शहर (मक्का) की कसम |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अल्लाह ने पवित्र नगर की क़सम खाई है, जो मक्का मुकर्रमा है। |
| Ayah 2 |
| عَرَبِي | وَأَنتَ حِلٌّ بِهٰذَا البَلَدِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waanta hillun bihatha albaladi |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa anta hillum bihaazal balad |
| English (Pickthall) | And thou art an indweller of this city - |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And thou art a freeman of this City;- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And you, [O Muhammad], are free of restriction in this city - |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O Messenger! It is permissible for you to do whatever you wish on the Day of the Conquest of Makkah, from capital punishment to those whom are deserving of it, to taking captive whomsoever deserves it. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | हाल यह है कि तुम इसी नगर में रह रहे हो - |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और तुम इसी शहर में तो रहते हो |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और (ऐ रसूल) आपके लिए इस नगर में, जो क़त्ल किए जाने का हक़दार उसे क़त्ल करना और जो बंदी बनाए जाने का हक़दार है, उसे बंदी बनाना, वैध है। |
| Ayah 3 |
| عَرَبِي | وَوالِدٍ وَما وَلَدَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wawalidin wama walada |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa waalidinw wa maa walad |
| English (Pickthall) | And the begetter and that which he begat, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And (the mystic ties of) parent and child;- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And [by] the father and that which was born [of him], |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And Allah takes an oath on the father of humanity, also taking an oath on the offspring reproduced from him. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और बाप और उसकी सन्तान की, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और (तुम्हारे) बाप (आदम) और उसकी औलाद की क़सम |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अल्लाह ने मानव जाति के पिता की क़सम खाई है एवं उससे पैदा होने वाली संतान की क़सम खाई है। |
| Ayah 4 |
| عَرَبِي | لَقَد خَلَقنَا الإِنسانَ في كَبَدٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Laqad khalaqna alinsana fee kabadin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Laqad khalaqnal insaana fee kabad |
| English (Pickthall) | We verily have created man in an atmosphere: |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Verily We have created man into toil and struggle. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | We have certainly created man into hardship. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Verily, I have created the human in tiredness and difficulty, because of the severities he experiences in the world. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | निस्संदेह हमने मनुष्य को पूर्ण मशक़्क़त (अनुकूलता और सन्तुलन) के साथ पैदा किया |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | हमने इन्सान को मशक्क़त में (रहने वाला) पैदा किया है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | हमने मानव जाति की रचना कष्ट और कठिनाई की स्थिति में की है; क्योंकि वह इस दुनिया में कठिनाइयाँ झेलता रहता है। |
| Ayah 5 |
| عَرَبِي | أَيَحسَبُ أَن لَن يَقدِرَ عَلَيهِ أَحَدٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Ayahsabu an lan yaqdira AAalayhi ahadun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Ayahsabu al-lai yaqdira 'alaihi ahad |
| English (Pickthall) | Thinketh he that none hath power over him? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Thinketh he, that none hath power over him? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Does he think that never will anyone overcome him? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Does the human think that when he sins, no one is in a position to be able to do anything to him, nor take retribution from him, even if it is his Lord who created him? |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | क्या वह समझता है कि उसपर किसी का बस न चलेगा? |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | क्या वह ये समझता है कि उस पर कोई काबू न पा सकेगा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | क्या इनसान यह समझता है कि यदि वह पाप करता है, तो कोई भी उसकी पकड़ करने में सक्षम नहीं होगा और न ही उससे बदला लेगा, भले ही वह उसका पालनहार ही हो जिसने उसे बनाया है?! |

| عَرَبِي | يَقولُ أَهلَكتُ مالًا لُبَدًا |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Yaqoolu ahlaktu malan lubadan |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Yaqoolu ahlaktu maalal lubadaa |
| English (Pickthall) | And he saith: I have destroyed vast wealth: |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | He may say (boastfully); Wealth have I squandered in abundance! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | He says, "I have spent wealth in abundance." |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | He says: “I spent a lot of wealth, heaped up.” |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | कहता है कि "मैंने ढेरो माल उड़ा दिया।" |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | वह कहता है कि मैने अलग़ारों माल उड़ा दिया |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | वह कहता है कि मैंने बहुत ढेर सारा धन खर्च कर दिया। |
| Ayah 7 |
| عَرَبِي | أَيَحسَبُ أَن لَم يَرَهُ أَحَدٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Ayahsabu an lam yarahu ahadun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Ayahsabu al lam yarahooo ahad |
| English (Pickthall) | Thinketh he that none beholdeth him? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Thinketh he that none beholdeth him? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Does he think that no one has seen him? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Does this person boastful over the wealth he has spent think that Allah does not see him? And that He will not take him to account over his wealth: how he earned it and where he spent it? |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | क्या वह समझता है कि किसी ने उसे देखा नहीं? |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | क्या वह ये ख्याल रखता है कि उसको किसी ने देखा ही नहीं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | क्या यह अपने खर्च करने पर गर्व करने वाला यह समझता है कि अल्लाह उसे नहीं देखता है?! और यह कि वह उससे उसके माल का हिसाब नहीं लेगा कि उसे कहाँ से कमाया और उसे किस पर ख़र्च किया?! |
| Ayah 8 |
| عَرَبِي | أَلَم نَجعَل لَهُ عَينَينِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Alam najAAal lahu AAaynayni |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Alam naj'al lahoo 'aynayn |
| English (Pickthall) | Did We not assign unto him two eyes |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Have We not made for him a pair of eyes?- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Have We not made for him two eyes? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Did I not create eyes for him with which he can see? |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | क्या हमने उसे नहीं दी दो आँखें, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | क्या हमने उसे दोनों ऑंखें और ज़बान |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | क्या हमने उसके लिए दो आँखें नहीं बनाईं, जिनसे वह देखता है?! |
| Ayah 9 |
| عَرَبِي | وَلِسانًا وَشَفَتَينِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Walisanan washafatayni |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa lisaananw wa shafatayn |
| English (Pickthall) | And a tongue and two lips, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And a tongue, and a pair of lips?- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And a tongue and two lips? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And a tongue and lips with which he can speak? |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और एक ज़बान और दो होंठ? |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और दोनों लब नहीं दिए (ज़रूर दिए) |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | तथा बात करने के लिए एक ज़बान और दो होंठ नहीं बनाए?! |
| Ayah 10 |
| عَرَبِي | وَهَدَيناهُ النَّجدَينِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wahadaynahu alnnajdayni |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa hadaynaahun najdayn |
| English (Pickthall) | And guide him to the parting of the mountain ways? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And shown him the two highways? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And have shown him the two ways? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And I made the paths of goodness and evils known to him. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और क्या ऐसा नहीं है कि हमने दिखाई उसे दो ऊँचाइयाँ? |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और उसको (अच्छी बुरी) दोनों राहें भी दिखा दीं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और हमने उसे अच्छाई के मार्ग और झूठ के रास्ते से अवगत कराया?! |
| Ayah 11 |
| عَرَبِي | فَلَا اقتَحَمَ العَقَبَةَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fala iqtahama alAAaqabata |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Falaq tahamal-'aqabah |
| English (Pickthall) | But he hath not attempted the Ascent - |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | But he hath made no haste on the path that is steep. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | But he has not broken through the difficult pass. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | He will be required to cross the valley that separates him from Paradise, which he will cross. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | किन्तु वह तो हुमककर घाटी में से गुजंरा ही नहीं और (न उसने मुक्ति का मार्ग पाया) |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | फिर वह घाटी पर से होकर (क्यों) नहीं गुज़रा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | उसे चाहि था कि उस घाटी को पार करता, जो उसे जन्नत से अलग करती है। चुनाँचे वह उसे तय करता और उसे पार कर जाता। |
| Ayah 12 |
| عَرَبِي | وَما أَدراكَ مَا العَقَبَةُ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wama adraka ma alAAaqabatu |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa maaa adraaka mal'aqabah |
| English (Pickthall) | Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Ascent is! - |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And what will explain to thee the path that is steep?- |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And what can make you know what is [breaking through] the difficult pass? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O Messenger! Do you know what the valley is that he has to cross, in order to enter Paradise? |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और तुम्हें क्या मालूम कि वह घाटी क्या है! |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और तुमको क्या मालूम कि घाटी क्या है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और (ऐ रसूल) आपको क्या मालूम कि वह घाटी क्या है, जो उसे जन्नत में प्रवेश करने के लिए पार करना है?! |
| Ayah 13 |
| عَرَبِي | فَكُّ رَقَبَةٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Fakku raqabatin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fakku raqabah |
| English (Pickthall) | (It is) to free a slave, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | (It is:) freeing the bondman; |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | It is the freeing of a slave |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | It is to free a male or female slave. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | किसी गरदन का छुड़ाना |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | किसी (की) गर्दन का (गुलामी या कर्ज से) छुड़ाना |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | यह एक पुरुष या महिला की गर्दन छुड़ाना है। |
| Ayah 14 |
| عَرَبِي | أَو إِطعامٌ في يَومٍ ذي مَسغَبَةٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Aw itAAamun fee yawmin thee masghabatin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Aw it'aamun fee yawmin zee masghabah |
| English (Pickthall) | And to feed in the day of hunger. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Or the giving of food in a day of privation |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Or feeding on a day of severe hunger |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Or to feed on a day of drought, in which food is scarce. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | या भूख के दिन खाना खिलाना |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | या भूख के दिन रिश्तेदार यतीम या ख़ाकसार |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | या अकाल के दिन खाना खिलाना, जब भोजन मिलना दुर्लभ हो। |
| Ayah 15 |
| عَرَبِي | يَتيمًا ذا مَقرَبَةٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Yateeman tha maqrabatin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Yateeman zaa maqrabah |
| English (Pickthall) | An orphan near of kin, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | To the orphan with claims of relationship, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | An orphan of near relationship |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | A child who has lost his father, whom he is related to. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | किसी निकटवर्ती अनाथ को, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | मोहताज को |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | ऐसे बच्चे को, जिसने अपने पिता को खो दिया हो, जिसके साथ उसकी रिश्तेदारी हो। |
| Ayah 16 |
| عَرَبِي | أَو مِسكينًا ذا مَترَبَةٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Aw miskeenan tha matrabatin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Aw miskeenan zaa matrabah |
| English (Pickthall) | Or some poor wretch in misery, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Or to the indigent (down) in the dust. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Or a needy person in misery |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Or a poor person who has no possessions. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | या धूल-धूसरित मुहताज को; |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | खाना खिलाना |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | या ऐसे ग़रीब को, जिसके पास अपना कुछ नहीं है। |
| Ayah 17 |
| عَرَبِي | ثُمَّ كانَ مِنَ الَّذينَ آمَنوا وَتَواصَوا بِالصَّبرِ وَتَواصَوا بِالمَرحَمَةِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Thumma kana mina allatheena amanoo watawasaw bialssabri watawasaw bialmarhamati |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Summa kaana minal lazeena aamanoo wa tawaasaw bissabri wa tawaasaw bilmarhamah |
| English (Pickthall) | And to be of those who believe and exhort one another to perseverance and exhort one another to pity. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Then will he be of those who believe, and enjoin patience, (constancy, and self-restraint), and enjoin deeds of kindness and compassion. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And then being among those who believed and advised one another to patience and advised one another to compassion. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Then he is required to be from those who have faith in Allah and advise each other to remain steadfast on act of obedience and refraining from sins, and bearing patience over difficulties, together with advising one another to show mercy to the servants of Allah. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | फिर यह कि वह उन लोगों में से हो जो ईमान लाए और जिन्होंने एक-दूसरे को धैर्य की ताकीद की , और एक-दूसरे को दया की ताकीद की |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | फिर तो उन लोगों में (शामिल) हो जाता जो ईमान लाए और सब्र की नसीहत और तरस खाने की वसीयत करते रहे |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | फिर वह उन लोगों में से हो, जो अल्लाह पर ईमान लाए और एक-दूसरे को नेक कामों पर डटे रहने, गुनाहों से दूर रहने और मुसीबत के समय धैर्य रखने की सलाह दी, तथा एक-दूसरे को अल्लाह के बंदों पर दया करने की सलाह दी। |
| Ayah 18 |
| عَرَبِي | أُولٰئِكَ أَصحابُ المَيمَنَةِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Olaika ashabu almaymanati |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Ulaaa'ika As-haabul maimanah |
| English (Pickthall) | Their place will be on the right hand. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Such are the Companions of the Right Hand. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Those are the companions of the right. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Those are the people of the right. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | वही लोग है सौभाग्यशाली |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | यही लोग ख़ुश नसीब हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | इन विशेषताओं से सुसज्जित लोग ही दाहिने हाथ वाले हैं। |
| Ayah 19 |
| عَرَبِي | وَالَّذينَ كَفَروا بِآياتِنا هُم أَصحابُ المَشأَمَةِ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waallatheena kafaroo biayatina hum ashabu almashamati |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wallazeena kafaroo bi aayaatinaa hum as-haabul Mash'amah |
| English (Pickthall) | But those who disbelieve Our revelations, their place will be on the left hand. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | But those who reject Our Signs, they are the (unhappy) Companions of the Left Hand. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | But they who disbelieved in Our signs - those are the companions of the left. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | As for those who disbelieve in My verses that were revealed to My Messenger, they are the people of the left. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | रहे वे लोग जिन्होंने हमारी आयातों का इनकार किया, वे दुर्भाग्यशाली लोग है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और जिन लोगों ने हमारी आयतों से इन्कार किया है यही लोग बदबख्त हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और जिन लोगों ने हमारे रसूल पर उतारी गई हमारी आयतों का इनकार किया, वही लोग बाएँ हाथ वाले हैं। |
| Ayah 20 |
| عَرَبِي | عَلَيهِم نارٌ مُؤصَدَةٌ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | AAalayhim narun musadatun |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Alaihim naarum mu'sadah |
| English (Pickthall) | Fire will be an awning over them. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | On them will be Fire vaulted over (all round). |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Over them will be fire closed in. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | A closed fire will be set upon them on the Day of Judgement, with which they will be punished. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | उनपर आग होगी, जिसे बन्द कर दिया गया होगा |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | कि उनको आग में डाल कर हर तरफ से बन्द कर दिया जाएगा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | क़ियामत के दिन उनपर बंद की हुई आग होगी, जिसमें उन्हें यातना दी जाएगी। |
