| Transliteration (Unicode) | Alam tara kaifa fa'ala rabbuka bi ashaabil feel |
| English (Pickthall) | Hast thou not seen how thy Lord dealt with the owners of the Elephant? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Seest thou not how thy Lord dealt with the Companions of the Elephant? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Have you not considered, [O Muhammad], how your Lord dealt with the companions of the elephant? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O Messenger! Do you not know how your Lord dealt with Abraha and his people: the people of the elephant, when they intended to demolish the Ka‘bah? |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | क्या तुमने देखा नहीं कि तुम्हारे रब ने हाथीवालों के साथ कैसा बरताव किया? |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | ऐ रसूल क्या तुमने नहीं देखा कि तुम्हारे परवरदिगार ने हाथी वालों के साथ क्या किया |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | (ऐ रसूल) क्या आप नहीं जानते कि आपके पालनहार ने अबरहा और उसके हाथी वाले साथियों के साथ कैसे किया, जब उन्होंने काबा को गिराने का इरादा किया?! |
| Ayah 2 |
| عَرَبِي | أَلَم يَجعَل كَيدَهُم في تَضليلٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Alam yajAAal kaydahum fee tadleelin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Alam yaj'al kai dahum fee tad leel |
| English (Pickthall) | Did He not bring their stratagem to naught, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Did He not make their treacherous plan go astray? |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Did He not make their plan into misguidance? |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Allah made their evil plot to destroy it in vain; they did not achieve what they desired in trying to turn the people away from the Ka‘bah. They did not succeed in the slightest. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | क्या उसने उनकी चाल को अकारथ नहीं कर दिया? |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | क्या उसने उनकी तमाम तद्बीरें ग़लत नहीं कर दीं (ज़रूर) |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अल्लाह ने उनकी काबा को गिराने की बुरी चाल को अकारथ कर दिया, इसलिए उन्होंने काबा से लोगों को फेरने की जो इच्छा की थी, उसे पूरी नहीं कर सके और न ही वे काबा को कोई नुक़सान पहुँचा सके। |

| عَرَبِي | وَأَرسَلَ عَلَيهِم طَيرًا أَبابيلَ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waarsala AAalayhim tayran ababeela |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa arsala 'alaihim tairan abaabeel |
| English (Pickthall) | And send against them swarms of flying creatures, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And He sent against them Flights of Birds, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And He sent against them birds in flocks, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Allah sent birds upon them, who came to them in flocks upon flocks. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | और उनपर नियुक्त होने को झुंड के झुंड पक्षी भेजे, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और उन पर झुन्ड की झुन्ड चिड़ियाँ भेज दीं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और उनपर झुंड के झुंड पक्षियों को भेज दिया। |

| عَرَبِي | تَرميهِم بِحِجارَةٍ مِن سِجّيلٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Tarmeehim bihijaratin min sijjeelin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Tar meehim bi hi jaaratim min sij jeel |
| English (Pickthall) | Which pelted them with stones of baked clay, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Striking them with stones of baked clay. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Striking them with stones of hard clay, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | They pelted them with stones of clay. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | उनपर कंकरीले पत्थर मार रहे थे |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | जो उन पर खरन्जों की कंकरियाँ फेकती थीं |

| Ayah 5 |
| عَرَبِي | فَجَعَلَهُم كَعَصفٍ مَأكولٍ |
| Transliteration (Tanzil) | FajaAAalahum kaAAasfin makoolin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Faja 'alahum ka'asfim m'akool |
| English (Pickthall) | And made them like green crops devoured (by cattle)? |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Then did He make them like an empty field of stalks and straw, (of which the corn) has been eaten up. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And He made them like eaten straw. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | So Allah made them like the leaves of crops that have been eaten and trampled upon by livestock. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अन्ततः उन्हें ऐसा कर दिया, जैसे खाने का भूसा हो |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो उन्हें चबाए हुए भूस की (तबाह) कर दिया |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | चुनाँचे अल्लाह ने उन्हें उन पत्तों की तरह कर दिया, जिन्हें जानवरों ने खाया और रौंदा हो। |
