| English (Pickthall) | Nun. By the pen and that which they write (therewith), |

| English (Qarai) | Nun. By the Pen and what they write: |
| English (Hilali) | Nun. [These letters (Nun, etc.) are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. By the pen and what the (angels) write (in the Records of men). |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | The discussion on similar letters has already passed in Sūrah Al-Baqarah. Allah takes an oath on the Pen and whatever the people write with their pens. |

| English (Abridged Expl.) | O Messenger! You are not a madman, due to the messengership Allah has blessed you with. Rather, you are free of the insanity the idolaters accuse you with. |

| हिन्दी (Suhail) | कि तुम अपने परवरदिगार के फ़ज़ल (व करम) से दीवाने नहीं हो |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | (ऐ रसूल) आप, अल्लाह के इस अनुग्रह से कि उसने आपको नबी बनाया, दीवाने हरगिज़ नहीं हैं। बल्कि, आप उस पागलपन से बरी हैं, जिससे मुश्रिकों ने आपको आरोपित किया है। |

| عَرَبِي | وَإِنَّ لَكَ لَأَجرًا غَيرَ مَمنونٍ |

| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa inna laka la ajran ghaira mamnoon |
| English (Pickthall) | And lo! thine verily will be a reward unfailing. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Nay, verily for thee is a Reward unfailing: |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And indeed, for you is a reward uninterrupted. |
| English (Qarai) | and yours indeed will be an everlasting reward, |
| English (Hilali) | And verily, for you (O Muhammad SAW) will be an endless reward. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Indeed, there is definitely a great, everlasting reward for you for your conveying the message to the people, without there being a favour outstanding upon you for anyone. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | निश्चय ही तुम्हारे लिए ऐसा प्रतिदान है जिसका क्रम कभी टूटनेवाला नहीं |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और तुम्हारे वास्ते यक़ीनन वह अज्र है जो कभी ख़त्म ही न होगा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | निःसंदेह आप लोगों तक अल्लाह का संदेश पहुँचाने से जो कष्ट सहते हैं, उसपर आपके लिए निश्चय कभी बाधित न होने वाला बदला है, और इसमें किसी का आप पर कोई एहसान नहीं है। |

| عَرَبِي | وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظيمٍ |

| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wainnaka laAAala khuluqin AAatheemin |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa innaka la'alaa khuluqin 'azeem |
| English (Pickthall) | And lo! thou art of a tremendous nature. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And thou (standest) on an exalted standard of character. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And indeed, you are of a great moral character. |
| English (Qarai) | and indeed you possess a great character. |
| English (Hilali) | And verily, you (O Muhammad SAW) are on an exalted standard of character. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And indeed, you are definitely on the greatest of character that the Qur’ān has brought; you are embodied with it to the most perfect degree. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | निस्संदेह तुम एक महान नैतिकता के शिखर पर हो |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और बेशक तुम्हारे एख़लाक़ बड़े आला दर्जे के हैं |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और निःसंदेह आप निश्चित रूप से क़ुरआन के लाए हुए महान चरित्र पर विराजमान हैं। अतः जो कुछ क़ुरआन में है वह पूर्णता आपका स्वभाव बन गया है। |
| ગુજરાતી (Rabila) | ૪. અને નિ:શંક તમે ખૂબ જ શ્રેષ્ઠ (ઉત્તમ) ચરિત્રવાળા છો. |

| हिन्दी (Al-Omari) | तथा निःसंदेह निश्चय आप एक महान चरित्र पर हैं। |

| عَرَبِي | إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبيلِهِ وَهُوَ أَعلَمُ بِالمُهتَدينَ |

| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Inna rabbaka huwa aAAlamu biman dalla AAan sabeelihi wahuwa aAAlamu bialmuhtadeena |

| English (Pickthall) | Lo! thy Lord is Best Aware of him who strayeth from His way, and He is Best Aware of those who walk aright. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Verily it is thy Lord that knoweth best, which (among men) hath strayed from His Path: and He knoweth best those who receive (true) Guidance. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has gone astray from His way, and He is most knowing of the [rightly] guided. |
| English (Qarai) | Indeed your Lord knows best those who stray from His way, and He knows best those who are guided. |
| English (Hilali) | Verily, your Lord knows better, who (among men) has gone astray from His Path, and He knows better those who are guided. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | O Messenger! Indeed, your Lord knows of whoever deviates from His path, and He is best aware of those who are guided to it. Therefore, He knows that they are the ones who have deviated from it, and that you have been guided to it. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | निस्संदेह तुम्हारा रब उसे भली-भाँति जानता है जो उसके मार्ग से भटक गया है, और वही उन लोगों को भी जानता है जो सीधे मार्ग पर हैं |

| English (Hilali) | So (O Muhammad SAW) obey not the deniers [(of Islamic Monotheism those who belie the Verses of Allah), the Oneness of Allah, and the Messenger of Allah (Muhammad SAW), etc.] |

| عَرَبِي | وَدّوا لَو تُدهِنُ فَيُدهِنونَ |

| Transliteration (Unicode) | Waddoo law tudhinu fa-yudhinoon |
| English (Pickthall) | Who would have had thee compromise, that they may compromise. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Their desire is that thou shouldst be pliant: so would they be pliant. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | They wish that you would soften [in your position], so they would soften [toward you]. |
| English (Qarai) | who are eager that you should be flexible, so that they [too] may be flexible [towards you]. |
| English (Hilali) | They wish that you should compromise (in religion out of courtesy) with them, so they (too) would compromise with you. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | They wish that you were soft and compromising towards them in matters of religion, so they can be soft and kind to you in return. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | वे चाहते है कि तुम ढीले पड़ो, इस कारण वे चिकनी-चुपड़ी बातें करते है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | वह लोग ये चाहते हैं कि अगर तुम नरमी एख्तेयार करो तो वह भी नरम हो जाएँ |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | वे चाहते हैं कि आप दीन की क़ीमत पर उनके साथ नरमी करें, तो वे भी आपके साथ नरमी करने लगें। |
| ગુજરાતી (Rabila) | ૯. તેઓ તો ઇચ્છે છે કે તમે થોડાક નરમ પડો તો તેઓ પણ નરમ પડી જાય. |
| Nepali (Ahl-al-Hadith) | ९) तिनीहरूले चाहन्छन् कि तिमी अली नरम भइहाल । अनि यिनीहरू नरम भइहाल्नेछन् । |

| عَرَبِي | وَلا تُطِع كُلَّ حَلّافٍ مَهينٍ |

| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa laa tuti' kulla hallaa fim maheen |
| English (Pickthall) | Neither obey thou each feeble oath-monger, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | Heed not the type of despicable men,- ready with oaths, |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And do not obey every worthless habitual swearer |

| ગુજરાતી (Rabila) | ૧૦. અને તમે કોઇ એવા વ્યક્તિનું પણ કહેવું ન માનશો જે વધારે કસમો ખાઈ છે. |
| Nepali (Ahl-al-Hadith) | १०) र तिमीले कुनै यस्तो व्यक्तिको भनाई नमान्नु जसले धेरै कसम खाइरहन्छ । |

While following their desires and turning away from the truth, they say, “Indeed, the Messenger who has brought it is a madman.” |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और अल्लाह का इनकार करने वाले तथा उसके रसूल को झुठलाने वाले, जब आपपर उतरने वाले इस क़ुरआन को सुनते हैं, तो आपको ऐसे घूरते हैं कि लगता है कि वे आपको अपनी आँखों से अवश्य ही पछाड़ देंगे। तथा वे (अपनी इच्छाओं का पालन करते हुए और सत्य से उपेक्षा करते हुए) कहते हैं : निश्चय इस क़ुरआन को लाने वाला रसूल अवश्य ही दीवाना है। |
