| عَرَبِي | سَخَّرَها عَلَيهِم سَبعَ لَيالٍ وَثَمانِيَةَ أَيّامٍ حُسومًا فَتَرَى القَومَ فيها صَرعىٰ كَأَنَّهُم أَعجازُ نَخلٍ خاوِيَةٍ |

| English (Pickthall) | Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees. |

| English (Abridged Expl.) | Allah released it upon them for seven nights and eight days, destroying them all. You would have seen the people destroyed in their homes, thrown onto the ground by the wind; as if they were the decomposed trunks of date palms fallen to the ground. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | अल्लाह ने उसको सात रात और आठ दिन तक उन्मूलन के उद्देश्य से उनपर लगाए रखा। तो लोगों को तुम देखते कि वे उसमें पछाड़े हुए ऐसे पड़े है मानो वे खजूर के जर्जर तने हों |

| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | अल्लाह ने उसे उनपर सात रातों और आठ दिनों की अवधि के लिए भेज दिया, जो उन्हें जड़ से विनष्ट कर रही थी। चुनाँचे आप उन्हें उनके घरों में मृत ज़मीन पर पड़े हुए देखते, गोया कि वे विनष्ट किए जाने के बाद धरती पर गिरे हुए खजूरों के जर्जर तने हों। |
| ગુજરાતી (Rabila) | ૭. જેને તેમના પર નિરંતર સાત રાત્રિઓ અને આઠ દિવસ સુધી (અલ્લાહએ) છવાયેલી રાખી. (જો તમે ત્યાં હોત તો) તમે જોતા કે તે લોકો જમીન પર એવી રીતે ઊંધા પડયા હતા, જેવી રીતે કે ખજૂરના ખોખલા થડ હોય. |

| عَرَبِي | وَجاءَ فِرعَونُ وَمَن قَبلَهُ وَالمُؤتَفِكاتُ بِالخاطِئَةِ |

| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Wajaa firAAawnu waman qablahu waalmutafikatu bialkhatiati |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa jaaa'a Firawnu wa man qablahoo wal mu'tafikaatu bilhaati'ah |
| English (Pickthall) | And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. |

| English (Qarai) | Then Pharaoh and those who were before him, and the towns that were overturned, brought about iniquity. |
| English (Hilali) | And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin, |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Pharaoh and the nations before him, and the communities that were punished by being turned upside down i.e. the people of Lot, all committed wrong acts in ascribing partners with Allah and sins. |

| हिन्दी (Al-Omari) | और फ़िरऔन ने तथा उससे पहले के लोगों ने एवं उलट जाने वाली बस्तियों ने पाप किया। |

| عَرَبِي | فَعَصَوا رَسولَ رَبِّهِم فَأَخَذَهُم أَخذَةً رابِيَةً |

| Transliteration (Tanzil) | FaAAasaw rasoola rabbihim faakhathahum akhthatan rabiyatan |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Fa'ansaw Rasoola Rabbihim fa akhazahum akhzatar raabiyah |
| English (Pickthall) | And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. |
| English (Qarai) | They disobeyed the apostle of their Lord, so He seized them with a terrible seizing. |
| English (Hilali) | And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | Each of them disobeyed their Messengers who were sent to them and rejected them, so Allah seized them with a seizing that exceeded the force required to destroy them. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | उन्होंने अपने रब के रसूल की अवज्ञा की तो उसने उन्हें ऐसी पकड़ में ले लिया जो बड़ी कठोर थी |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | तो उन लोगों ने अपने परवरदिगार के रसूल की नाफ़रमानी की तो ख़ुदा ने भी उनकी बड़ी सख्ती से ले दे कर डाली |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | चुनाँचे उनमें से प्रत्येक ने अपने रसूल की अवज्ञा की और उसे झुठलाया, तो अल्लाह ने उनकी उससे कहीं अधिक पकड़ की, जो उनके विनाश के लिए काफ़ी थी। |
| ગુજરાતી (Rabila) | ૧૦. તે સૌએ પોતાના પાલનહારના પયગંબરની અવગણના કરી. (છેવટે) અલ્લાહ એ તેઓને (પણ) સખત પકડમાં લઇ લીધા. |
