| English (Abridged Expl.) | Say, O Messenger, to your nation: Allah revealed to me that a group of Jinn listened to my recitation of the Qur’ān in Batn Nakhla. When they went back to their people they said to them: We have heard a recited speech that is impressive in its clarity and eloquence. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | कह दो, "मेरी ओर प्रकाशना की गई है कि जिन्नों के एक गिरोह ने सुना, फिर उन्होंने कहा कि हमने एक मनभाता क़ुरआन सुना, |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | (ऐ रसूल लोगों से) कह दो कि मेरे पास 'वही' आयी है कि जिनों की एक जमाअत ने (क़ुरान को) जी लगाकर सुना तो कहने लगे कि हमने एक अजीब क़ुरान सुना है |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | (ऐ रसूल) आप अपनी उम्मत से कह दें : अल्लाह ने मेरी तरफ़ यह वह़्य (प्रकाशना) की है कि जिन्नों के एक समूह ने 'नख़ला' नामी स्थान में, मेरे क़ुरआन के पाठ को सुना। उसके बाद जब वे अपनी जाति की ओर लौटकर गए, तो उनसे कहा : निःसंदेह हमने एक सुपाठ्य वाणी सुनी है, जो अपने बयान और वाक्पटुता में बड़ा मनभावन व सराहनीय है। |
| ગુજરાતી (Rabila) | ૧. (હે મુહમ્મદ) તમે તેમને કહી દો કે મને વહી કરવામાં આવી છે કે જિન્નાતોના એક જૂથે આ (કુરઆનને) ધ્યાનથી સાંભળ્યુ પછી (પોતાની કોમ તરફ જઈને) કહ્યુ કે અમે અદ્- ભૂત કુરઆન સાંભળ્યુ છે. |
| Nepali (Ahl-al-Hadith) | १) (हे पैगम्बर सल्लल्लाहो अलैहे वसल्लम) भनिदिनुस् कि मेरो पासमा वह्य आएको छ कि जिन्नहरूको एउटा समूहले (किताबलाई) सुनेर भन्न थाले कि हामीले एउटा आश्चर्य लाग्दो ‘‘कुरआन’’ सुन्यौं । |
| हिन्दी (Al-Omari) | (ऐ नबी!) कह दें : मेरी ओर वह़्य की गई है कि जिन्नों के एक समूह ने (मेरे क़ुरआन पढ़ने को) ध्यान से सुना। फिर उन्होंने कहा : निःसंदेह हमने एक अद्भुत क़ुरआन सुना है। |

| عَرَبِي | يَهدي إِلَى الرُّشدِ فَآمَنّا بِهِ ۖ وَلَن نُشرِكَ بِرَبِّنا أَحَدًا |

| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Yahdee ila alrrushdi faamanna bihi walan nushrika birabbina ahadan |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Yahdeee ilar rushdi fa aamannaa bihee wa lan nushrika bi rabbinaaa ahadaa |
| English (Pickthall) | Which guideth unto righteousness, so we believe in it and we ascribe no partner unto our Lord. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | 'It gives guidance to the Right, and we have believed therein: we shall not join (in worship) any (gods) with our Lord. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone. |
| English (Qarai) | which guides to rectitude. Hence, we have believed in it and we will never ascribe any partner to our Lord. |
| English (Hilali) | 'It guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein, and we shall never join (in worship) anything with our Lord (Allah). |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | This speech that we heard guides to the correct belief, statements and actions, so we believed in it and we will not associate any partner with our Lord Who revealed it. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | "जो भलाई और सूझ-बूझ का मार्ग दिखाता है, अतः हम उसपर ईमान ले आए, और अब हम कदापि किसी को अपने रब का साझी नहीं ठहराएँगे |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | जो भलाई की राह दिखाता है तो हम उस पर ईमान ले आए और अब तो हम किसी को अपने परवरदिगार का शरीक न बनाएँगे |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | यह वाणी जो हमने सुनी है, आस्था (अक़ीदा), कथन और कर्म में शुद्धता (सत्य) को दिखाती है। अतः हम उसपर ईमान ले आए। तथा हम अपने उस पालनहार के साथ, जिसने यह वाणी उतारी है, कदापि किसी को साझा नहीं करेंगे। |

| عَرَبِي | وَأَنَّهُ تَعالىٰ جَدُّ رَبِّنا مَا اتَّخَذَ صاحِبَةً وَلا وَلَدًا |

| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waannahu taAAala jaddu rabbina ma ittakhatha sahibatan wala waladan |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa annahoo Ta'aalaa jaddu Rabbinaa mat takhaza saahibatanw wa la waladaa |
| English (Pickthall) | And (we believe) that He - exalted be the glory of our Lord! - hath taken neither wife nor son, |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | 'And Exalted is the Majesty of our Lord: He has taken neither a wife nor a son. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And [it teaches] that exalted is the nobleness of our Lord; He has not taken a wife or a son |

| हिन्दी (Farooq) | "और यह कि हमारे रब का गौरब अत्यन्त उच्च है। उसने अपने लिए न तो कोई पत्नी बनाई और न सन्तान |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और ये कि हमारे परवरदिगार की शान बहुत बड़ी है उसने न (किसी को) बीवी बनाया और न बेटा बेटी |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और हम इस बात पर भी ईमान लाए हैं कि हमारे पालनहार ने (उसकी महिमा एवं प्रताप बहुत उच्च है) न कोई पत्नी बनाई है और न कोई संतान, जैसा कि बहुदेववादियों का कहना है। |
| ગુજરાતી (Rabila) | ૩. અને નિ:શંક અમારા પાલનહારનું ગૌરવ ખુબ જ બુલંદ છે. ન તેણે કોઇને (પોતાની) પત્નિ બનાવી અને ન તો દીકરો. |
| Nepali (Ahl-al-Hadith) | ३) र निश्चितरूपले हाम्रो पालनकर्ताको गौरव अत्यन्त उच्च छ उसले आफ्नो निम्ति कसैलाई न पत्नी बनायो न कुनै सन्तान, |
| हिन्दी (Al-Omari) | तथा यह कि हमारे पालनहार की महिमा बहुत ऊँची है। उसने न (अपनी) कोई संगिनी (पत्नी) बनाई है और न कोई संतान। |

| عَرَبِي | وَأَنَّهُ كانَ يَقولُ سَفيهُنا عَلَى اللَّهِ شَطَطًا |

| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waannahu kana yaqoolu safeehuna AAala Allahi shatatan |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa annahoo kaana yaqoolu safeehunaa 'alal laahi shatataa |
| English (Pickthall) | And that the foolish one among us used to speak concerning Allah an atrocious lie. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | 'There were some foolish ones among us, who used to utter extravagant lies against Allah; |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And that our foolish one has been saying about Allah an excessive transgression. |
| English (Qarai) | The foolish ones among us used to speak atrocious lies concerning Allah. |
| English (Hilali) | 'And that the foolish among us [i.e. Iblis (Satan) or the polytheists amongst the jinns] used to utter against Allah that which was wrong and not right. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And that Iblis made an errant statement about Allah by attributing a wife and child to Him, may He be glorified. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | "और यह कि हममें का मूर्ख व्यक्ति अल्लाह के विषय में सत्य से बिल्कुल हटी हुई बातें कहता रहा है |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और ये कि हममें से बाज़ बेवकूफ ख़ुदा के बारे में हद से ज्यादा लग़ो बातें निकाला करते थे |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और यह कि इबलीस अल्लाह के संबंध में सत्य से हटी हुई बात कहा करता था कि उसकी पत्नी और संतान है। |

| عَرَبِي | وَأَنّا ظَنَنّا أَن لَن تَقولَ الإِنسُ وَالجِنُّ عَلَى اللَّهِ كَذِبًا |

| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waanna thananna an lan taqoola alinsu waaljinnu AAala Allahi kathiban |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa annaa zanannaaa al lan taqoolal insu wal jinnu 'alal laahi kazibaa |
| English (Pickthall) | And lo! we had supposed that humankind and jinn would not speak a lie concerning Allah - |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | 'But we do think that no man or spirit should say aught that untrue against Allah. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And we had thought that mankind and the jinn would never speak about Allah a lie. |
| English (Qarai) | We thought that humans and jinn would never utter any falsehood concerning Allah. |
| English (Hilali) | 'And verily, we thought that men and jinns would not utter a lie against Allah. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And that we thought that the idolaters from among mankind and the jinn were not speaking lies when they claimed that He had a wife and child, so we accepted their statement blindly following them. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | "और यह कि हमने समझ रखा था कि मनुष्य और जिन्न अल्लाह के विषय में कभी झूठ नहीं बोलते |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और ये कि हमारा तो ख्याल था कि आदमी और जिन ख़ुदा की निस्बत झूठी बात नहीं बोल सकते |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और यह कि हम समझते थे कि ये शिर्क करने वाले जिन्न और इनसान झूठ नहीं बोल रहे हैं, जब वे यह दावा कर रहे थे कि अल्लाह की पत्नी और संतान है। इसलिए अनका अनुकरण करते हुए हमने उनकी बात को सत्य मान लिया। |
| ગુજરાતી (Rabila) | ૫. અને એ કે અમે તો એવું જ સમજતા હતા કે માનવી અને જિન્નાત અલ્લાહ વિશે કદાપી જૂઠ બોલી નથી શકતા. |
| Nepali (Ahl-al-Hadith) | ५) र हामीले यो ठानेका थियौं कि मानिस र जिन्नहरू अल्लाहको बारेमा झूठ बोल्दैनन् । |

| عَرَبِي | وَأَنَّهُ كانَ رِجالٌ مِنَ الإِنسِ يَعوذونَ بِرِجالٍ مِنَ الجِنِّ فَزادوهُم رَهَقًا |

| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waannahu kana rijalun mina alinsi yaAAoothoona birijalin mina aljinni fazadoohum rahaqan |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa annahoo kaana rijaa lum minal insi ya'oozoona birijaalim minal jinni fazaa doohum rahaqaa |
| English (Pickthall) | And indeed (O Muhammad) individuals of humankind used to invoke the protection of individuals of the jinn, so that they increased them in revolt against Allah); |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | 'True, there were persons among mankind who took shelter with persons among the Jinns, but they increased them in folly. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the jinn, so they [only] increased them in burden. |
| English (Qarai) | Indeed some persons from the humans would seek the protection of some persons from the jinn, thus only adding to their rebellion. |
| English (Hilali) | 'And verily, there were men among mankind who took shelter with the masculine among the jinns, but they (jinns) increased them (mankind) in sin and disbelief. |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And that in the period of ignorance, some men from mankind used to seek protection in the jinn when they came to a frightening place. One of them would say: I seek protection in the leader of this valley from the evil of the foolish ones of his people. As a result, human beings became more afraid and terrified of the jinn. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | "और यह कि मनुष्यों में से कितने ही पुरुष ऐसे थे, जो जिन्नों में से कितने ही पुरूषों की शरण माँगा करते थे। इसप्रकार उन्होंने उन्हें (जिन्नों को) और चढ़ा दिया |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और ये कि आदमियों में से कुछ लोग जिन्नात में से बाज़ लोगों की पनाह पकड़ा करते थे तो (इससे) उनकी सरकशी और बढ़ गयी |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | जाहिलीयत के ज़माने में इनसानों में से कुछ लोग, जब किसी भयानक स्थान पर उतरते, तो जिन्नों में से कुछ लोगों की शरण लिया करते थे, चुनाँचे उनमें से एक कहता था : मैं इस वादी के प्रमुख जिन्न की शरण में आता हूँ, उसकी जाति के नासमझ जिन्नों की बुराई से।इस तरह इनसानों का जिन्नों से भय और डर बढ़ा गया। |
| ગુજરાતી (Rabila) | ૬. અને એ કે માનવીઓ માંથી કેટલાક જિન્નાતોથી શરણ માંગતા હતા. જેનાથી જિન્નાતોનાં ઘમંડમાં વધારો થયો. |
| Nepali (Ahl-al-Hadith) | ६) कुरो यो हो कि केही मानिसहरूले केही जिन्नहरूको शरण माँग्दथे, जसबाट उनको अटेरीपना झन् बढीहालेको थियो । |
| हिन्दी (Al-Omari) | और वास्तविकता यह है कि मनुष्यों में से कुछ लोग, जिन्नों में से कुछ लोगों की शरण लिया करते थे। तो उन्होंने उन (जिन्नों) को सरकशी में बढ़ा दिया। |
| Roman Urdu (Maududi) | Aur yeh ke Insano mein se kuch log Jinno mein se kuch logon ki panaah (refuge) maanga karte thay, is tarah unhon ne Jinno ka guroor aur zyada badha diya |

| عَرَبِي | وَأَنَّهُم ظَنّوا كَما ظَنَنتُم أَن لَن يَبعَثَ اللَّهُ أَحَدًا |

| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waannahum thannoo kama thanantum an lan yabAAatha Allahu ahadan |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa annahum zannoo kamaa zanantum al lany yab'asal laahu ahadaa |
| English (Pickthall) | And indeed they supposed, even as ye suppose, that Allah would not raise anyone (from the dead) - |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | 'And they (came to) think as ye thought, that Allah would not raise up any one (to Judgment). |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And they had thought, as you thought, that Allah would never send anyone [as a messenger]. |
| English (Qarai) | They thought, just as you think, that Allah will not raise anyone from the dead. |
| English (Hilali) | 'And they thought as you thought, that Allah will not send any Messenger (to mankind or jinns). |
| English (Abridged Expl.) | And that humans thought as you did, O jinn, that Allah will not resurrect anyone after his death for the reckoning and recompense. |
| हिन्दी (Farooq) | "और यह कि उन्होंने गुमान किया जैसे कि तुमने गुमान किया कि अल्लाह किसी (नबी) को कदापि न उठाएगा |
| हिन्दी (Suhail) | और ये कि जैसा तुम्हारा ख्याल है वैसा उनका भी एतक़ाद था कि ख़ुदा हरगिज़ किसी को दोबारा नहीं ज़िन्दा करेगा |
| हिन्दी तफ्सीर (Mokhtasar) | और यह कि इनसानों ने भी तुम्हारी तरह यही सोचा था कि अल्लाह किसी को उसकी मृत्यु के बाद हिसाब और प्रतिफल के लिए कभी पुनर्जीवित नहीं करेगा। |
| ગુજરાતી (Rabila) | ૭. અને એ કે માનવીઓ પણ એવું જ સમજતા હતા કે જેવું તામે સમજો છો કે અલ્લાહ કોઇને પણ ક્યારેય બીજીવાર જીવીત નહીં કરે. |
| Nepali (Ahl-al-Hadith) | ७) र मानिसहरूले पनि तिमी जिन्नहरू जस्तै अनुमान गरेका थिए कि अल्लाहले कसैलाई पठाउने छैन, (वा पुर्नजीवित गर्नेछैन) । |
| हिन्दी (Al-Omari) | और यह कि उन (इनसानों) ने गुमान किया था, जैसे कि तुमने गुमान किया था कि अल्लाह किसी को कभी नहीं उठाएगा। |

| عَرَبِي | وَأَنّا لَمَسنَا السَّماءَ فَوَجَدناها مُلِئَت حَرَسًا شَديدًا وَشُهُبًا |

| Transliteration (Tanzil) | Waanna lamasna alssamaa fawajadnaha muliat harasan shadeedan washuhuban |
| Transliteration (Unicode) | Wa annaa lamasnas sa maaa'a fa wajadnaahaa muli'at harasan shadeedanw wa shuhubaa |
| English (Pickthall) | And (the Jinn who had listened to the Qur'an said): We had sought the heaven but had found it filled with strong warders and meteors. |
| English (Yusuf Ali) | 'And we pried into the secrets of heaven; but we found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires. |
| English (Saheeh Int’l) | And we have sought [to reach] the heaven but found it filled with powerful guards and burning flames. |
| English (Qarai) | Indeed we made for the heaven and found it full of mighty sentries and flames. |

| English (Abridged Expl.) | This is done in the hope that the messenger may know that the messengers before him had conveyed the messages of their Lord that He had instructed them to convey because of the care that Allah gave to it. Allah’s knowledge surrounds whatever is with the angels and messengers. Nothing of that is hidden from Him. He has counted the number of everything, so that nothing is hidden from Him, may He be glorified. |
